Although I'm currently a student here myself, I often think about the experience through a parent's eyes--and USTT is exactly the kind of place I would feel confident bringing my child to. Master Sung is an extraordinary instructor. He teaches with a deep sense of respect--offering it first, not demanding it--and it creates an atmosphere where discipline feels meaningful and uplifting rather than intimidating. He carries himself as though it's an honor for him to teach you, and that attitude naturally inspires students to give their best. Before my class, I regularly see him working with the younger children. His patience is consistent and genuinely admirable. He is fully present, correcting form, encouraging effort, and managing different skill levels at the same time with ease. Every student gets attention, and every child is treated with care and dignity. Each adult class is unique, thoughtfully structured, and creatively taught. Master Sung keeps us engaged, challenged, and progressing while still making the learning experience fun. The black belts who help run his classes share the same respectful, supportive spirit--they treat helping you as an honor, and you can feel that sincerity. I've truly enjoyed my time at USTT. USTT in La Quinta is THE BEST Do Jang in the Valley. Master Sung is certified by Kukkiwon to award Black Belts. . Many Taekwondo gyms will offer a black belt program, but in order to give the test you must be registered as a master through Kukkiwon. . He truly cares about the kids and adults he trains. His gym is well maintained. His instructors are passionate. They offer classes everyday for every age and skill level. They have a Tournament Team. They host Breaking competitions and Tournaments. . La Quinta USTT and Master Sung have immensely assisted in the success of my daughter and her stable mental development. My child is mentally strong and physically strong do to USTT's training. Master Sung has helped guide my child to be technical when it comes to sparring. Master Sung comprehends all development in children come in different forms and has patience for the students who need more time. Also, for the students who are quick at developing Taekwondo standards, those students are tested at a high level and are expected to maintain that level. Master Sung is well known in the Taekwondo community here in the US and he is Kukkiwon (Taekwondo governing body and Olympic standards) certified from the headquarters of South Korea. My daughter has excelled in her fighting and is immensely successful in tournaments in California because of Master Sung and his program. I have no words that would be able to describe how great this school and all the instructors are. Master Sung is by far the greatest, it is easy to see how much he loves what he does. I have three kids enrolled there, we started off with one and the others loved watching so much that we enrolled the other two. Master Sung, Rachel, Malina, Yessie and Mr.M make you feel so comfortable, they make it easy to talk to them and they make it extremely easy for my kids to just get up and go. This place is nurturing to young children yet stringent to the older kids. It's a hard thing to balance but they do a great job of it. They not only focus on the form but also spend a great deal of time sparing. What use is form if you don't know how to translate it to a a real life situation where you have to defend yourself. The dojo didn't focus on sparring in the past, however, since Master Sung took over they have done a better job of incorporating it into their everyday routine. In the past testing ran really late but they have made great strides with that too. read more

USTT La Quinta is the best training facility in the valley. It is usually filled with kids and teens who thrive on the confidence, discipline and the challenge that comes with traditional Tae Kwon Do instruction.
