These guys are awesome! I called on a Monday to request someone to come over and give me an estimate on doing my yard and we scheduled an appointment for Wednesday. On Wednesday their representative Sam showed up on time. We discussed what could be done with my yard. I wanted pavers and artificial turf. Sam gave me some good suggestions and then he was able to give me an estimate right there on the spot. He was not pushy and had listened to what I needed. He came out to the house and measured, gave recommendations, and explained not only the process but the breakdown of cost. Five stars all around for the team at US turf. Our sprinklers were giving us problems for months, costing us a lot of money in wasted water and repair work, so one day after discovering yet another broken sprinkler, I had had it and called to get a quote for turf. That same day, Seth came to my house, measured our lawn and was extremely knowledgable and helpful about all things turf. Also he was so friendly and not pushy, unlike a different company I got a quote from just to compare prices. We have a dog and a baby, and Seth does as well, so he was able to give great recommendations for why turf is the way to go. After getting our initial quote, we were still a bit off the budget, so with some slight tweaks that Seth recommended to the design (that actually made the backyard look more beautiful and expensive), the quote came in at our budget and we were thrilled. We were then able to get on the schedule to start install the very next week! The team worked so hard for a week, and our backyard turned out better than we could have ever expected. US Turf is OK for replacing turf. Their price for that work was competitive. My only suggestion would be that you go to the videos and other sources online and make a checklist of all the steps that should be taken when installing it yourself. Then, be there when the installation occurs and check off each step as they complete it. This company has only been around for three years, so you can't go look at older installations they've done to see how they held up Do NOT USE US TURF FOR PREP WORK; they grossly overcharge for that. They charged me $3000 for a Project Manager who came and stood on the sidelines while two workers dug out the turf and then took off for quite awhile for other business. They worked for about 12 hours total, digging the dirt out and wheeling it a few feet to dump on my bank. then digging and installing the only blocks US Turf offered for a retaining wall. (Advertised at Home Depot for $2 apiece.) GO TO A ROCK STORE; PICK OUT THE BLOCKS YOU LIKE; GET SOMEONE YOU KNOW TO HIRE A COUPLE OF WORKERS TO DIG FOR AND INSTALL A RETAINING WALL and any other prep work that needs to be done. You'll certainly save money. . I see that Walt used to be a Project Manager. Maybe he would have done a better job of keeping on top of things and communicating with me. Anyway, the crowning act on their part was to send Ryan, Walt, the Project Manager and another guy over here the following week to complete the job: clean off patio furniture, replace furniture that had been taken off turf, and build the retaining wall higher to keep the dirt in, in case we have the good fortune of a downpour again some day. We are only left with a disagreement about what the term "level" means and how it should be applied, and the staining of the blocks that they promised to do to make them the dark brown I thought I was getting. read more

We had got Flagstone installed in out backyard and had a a small 150 square foot area in the periphery around it for which we were thinking about getting artificial turf to complete the backyard and get the contrast with the flagstone. we went to a few artificial turf installation companies in San Diego and then we went to US turf, I walked into their showroom at Mira mesa and was greeted by a gentleman named Justin who was very professional and explained all the details of artificial grass installation, he helped me select a turf. We took it out in the sun and looked at the samples in day light from various angles,I took a few samples that I liked to discuss with my wife. She selected a sample that we thought had the right green color and the right blade cut that matched our front lawn. The next step was to get an estimate and measurements done. I had taken a rough measurement with me to get estimates, Walt came in the next day to take the measurements and we scheduled the installation 3 days from the measurement The installation team from US turf arrived at our residence at 7 am on time for the the installation date as requested, there were 3 guys all dressed professionally and were very courteous. I felt from the get go that they knew what they were doing and they were experienced. they were very respectful of my property and planned their work area after discussing with us, they moved the patio furniture out of the way and started digging to level the ground and close the sprinklers that needed closing . While digging they found that the drainage pipe in the backyard where the new turf will be installed was blocked with tree roots at the opening They cleaned the roots on the drainage,they explained this will help us in the long run to drain rain water properly from the area where the new turf will be installed. they finished digging by lunch time, and put DG and leveled the ground after lunch, around 3 Pm they started installing the weed blocker and then the turf. and they were done with filler brushing and cleaning by 7 pm the same day. it has been 3 weeks since they installed , and it looks great and very professionally done.
