We like to randomly stop in for breakfast sandwiches and box donuts when that time of year at school starts. The ham and cheese is filling and yummy. Variety of donut flavors keep the office staff happy. Usually there is a short line so give yourself about 15min extra if you're heading to work. Gas station in the same parking lot so it's convenient. Very kind staff! read more

I used to visit this place a lot, especially when I was a little kid. Not too long ago the old man working there hit on me knowing I was a minor. Be careful ladies. The ladies who work there as well also didn't care about what happened when I explained to them what the man had said and how he tried to get my phone number. It sucks I can't even come back to this donut place to get a donut because I don't want to support a place that supports pedos working alongside with them. Be aware of grooming as well. He tried giving me free donuts to lure me into giving up my phone number. read more

Good: friendly staff and fresh donuts. Bad: donuts aren't the best for your health. Moderation is the key I love this place because it's where the locals go. it's my go-to donut shop. Has all the classics: donut holes, bars, twists, custard, buttermilk, rolls, claws and fritters. All made freshly the morning of. On top of that I've been coming here for other breakfast items as well like their sandwiches and ham and cheese croissants. Been frequenting this place for years but I never got the names of the ladies who work the front or the guy who makes the donuts in the early morning. But I feel as if they're distant cousins. They always greet me warmly and serve me with a smile. Can't ask more from the humble donut shop. read more

I pass by this place for years and one day I decided to just try it out. The ice coffee is bomb!! The portion is great and it's not too sweet either. They usually have a big jar ready in the fridge so they can pour it out and serve it in seconds. The sandwiches are not too bad either although the menu for the sandwich is a little confusing but after ordering the first time it gets easier. Basically you pick the fillings (ex: eggs and bacon, eggs and ham etc.) and then the type of bread. You can go with croissant, bagel and the last one is some kind of regular bread. I haven't tried the donuts but judging from the other reviews they are decent. read more

It's a donut shop so you can't expect a lot overall... Drive by it on the way to work so I started stopping by at times to buy something to munch on. I have to give it to you I love the owners of this place... They are friendly, inviting and their donuts and croissants are really good...I normally get croissants when I come here and they have mini versions so I'll buy a bunch of the cinnamon and buttered ones together to bring to the office. They have coffee and other food items as well.... Lotto like a lot of Donut Shops! Stop by when you can...and help a small local shop out! read more

This place makes a pretty good donut. It's always open, so that makes it convenient when you're having a late night craving. They also have a wide variety of ice cream to choose from if you're craving that as well. I always lean towards the cake donuts with chocolate and nuts or an apple fritter and of course you need to get some milk. Service is very friendly as well. read more

I come in here for the cream and fruit pastries. They are so dang good! I also take advantage of satisfying my "lottery ticket urges" by purchasing some. I haven't been lucky there yet, but I am hopeful. I have sampled their bear claws, cinnamon buns, numerous "filled donuts (jelly and lemon) and countless other donuts. I haven't found one I didn't like. My only beef with the place is that a lady that works there isn't very nice. The gentleman is very kind, and makes the whole buying experience pleasant. Not sure who the lady is, but I hope she learns to smile and treat her customers better. read more

I tried a few donut shops on Peck Road. This is one of the better ones. The best items are their breakfast crossaints and regular donuts. The breakfast crossaints are crispy and delicious. I also love their ice coffee. Clean and great service. read more

Early Morning Donut Run... With One Very Dramatic Muffin…read more Decided to stop by this donut shop early in the morning to grab a few treats for hubby and me. There were a handful of parking spots available around 7 AM, so parking was easy, and the shop itself was very clean, bright, and welcoming. There were actually quite a few customers inside already, which is always a good sign! Since it had been forever since I last bought donuts, I ended up picking up a little variety: a cream cheese croissant, cheese muffin, blueberry muffin, and some donut holes. Now... let's talk about the muffin. First of all, it was HUGE and costed $3.50, hoping it was worth the price. But the moment I picked it up... the top literally fell completely off and beheaded itself! I just stood there looking at it like, "Well... that escalated quickly." Unfortunately, the muffin itself was the biggest disappointment. I'd honestly give it about 2/5 stars. It was very dry, and despite it being a cheese muffin, I couldn't really taste any cheese at all. It just wasn't worth the money for me. The donut holes (I think around $2.50 for about half a bag) were decent, but I've definitely had softer and fluffier ones elsewhere. They satisfied the sweet tooth, but they weren't particularly memorable. On the bright side, service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, the line moved quickly, and I was in and out within minutes. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by and gave this place a try since it was nearby. I probably wouldn't come back specifically for the muffins, but I'd be willing to give some of their breakfast sandwiches or other menu items a shot next time. Happy eats!

In fact, we couldn't finish it because it tasted so artificial and made our stomach hurt. Also, the boba was hard. Will not be returning.

As soon as I walked in, though, I knew that I lucked out to find a local treasure, and I was about to eat like a champ. I was seated and taken care of right away. The woman who took my order was kind enough to offer substitutions for me when my ambitious stomach wanted a good three things off the menu. The biscuits and gravy were warm and gooey. The potatoes O'Brien were golden and seasoned perfectly. The eggs were fluffy. The bacon was crispy. Oh, but the coffee? The coffee was divine. I was saved by that coffee in ways I didn't even know I needed saving. I highly doubt I'll be out in El Monte again, I just... don't ever have any business there, usually. But if something does pop up, I won't say no. Just so I can go back to Flo's.

She also shared her story with me, that it's been tough getting foot traffic to her store, so if you're able to come by and try her tasty croissants and some of their drinks, please consider it! It's never too noisy in Valley Cafe, although they do keep a radio on. They do have WiFi but only one outlet so come with your devices fully charged. On ambiance, Valley Cafe (El Monte) has some utility. There's customer internet with password; customers must ask Staff for the details. However, there's only one electrical outlet near a tall counter. Fortunately, there's a gender neutral restroom for customers in the back. Valley Cafe (El Monte) is also very clean. The floors sparkled! And the location is small, but it's comfy. There's about four tables and one counter. Light upbeat music played. Overall, I am humbled by Valley Cafe (El Monte). It's a perfect textbook example of "Don't judge a book by its cover." There's passion and sincere care within this establishment. The coffee is also phenomenal. If nearby, I wholeheartedly recommend. 4.9 out of 5
