When I got home later that evening I received a phone call from the manager saying they didn't charge me correctly and could she charge my card or could I bring the five dollars back. It wasn't my mistake, I also tipped, if five dollars was that important take it from the tip. Decided to give the a second chance and they didn't fail me. This was my first time trying this salon. I was very impressed with the inside decor. The ceiling is painted like the sky similar to the Paris Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. It makes you feel like you're outside. I was immediately greeted and helped with my services. Shana did a great job on my eyebrow wax and my pedicure. For all you gals who know what you need in a good brow wax, this is it! She waxed and plucked. Some waxers don't pluck the tiny leftover hairs, so I always look for that to know if I will use them again. On to my next service. I got the regular pedicure. We never want to talk about ingrown toenails, but it needs to be discussed. I have not had a pedicure in over 5 months because I broke one of my little toes. You can imagine after all that time, the ingrown toenail had become an issue. Shana got them out with little pain. The massage was great. Shana used hot stones and did a full 5-minute timed rub on my legs and feet. It felt great! Shana was conversational, but not too much. I like to be left alone while enjoying my pedicure. I was impressed I could understand her and she was very pleasant. The energy in the salon was nice. All the ladies were sweet and it was a relaxing vibe. I like a quiet salon and this was perfect! They service popcorn and bottled water. I thought that was a nice touch. $10 for the brow wax and $32 for the regular pedicure (before tip). After paying, I was given a little notepad calendar for 2024. I thought that was nice too. It's the small things that matter. Highly recommend this place. Might even see you there on my next visit. I used to love this place. This will be my last visit. Today my nails were done and it took almost 2 and a half hours. First she insisted we use a different color powder. Then she painted it on so thick you couldn't see my skin. My cuticles all red and torn up from the drill. Shana knew she didn't do a good job but still charged me? She kept apologizing but instead of just giving me the service at no charge I was charged anyway. Then she said she promised she would do them free in two weeks. I can understand mandarin, this is a Chinese salon, and they didn't realize I could understand every word. From what I could gather, the owner of the place only cares about getting as much money from the customers, even if it literally hurts them. I'm not 100% she was the owner but she was the most vocal one and spoke as if she made the rules. Basically, I learned that they make up a price and charge you more as much as they can get away with. They talked about how each customer tipped especially if it was low, even though they took advantage of the customers first. I explicitly told my manicurist that I had dry, cracked sensitive skin on two of my fingers. The owner pushed her to put acetone on them anyway, and if I was in pain or she messed up, to feign ignorance. Bless her heart she didn't follow her instructions and took care of me really well. In fact, Kate is the saving grace about this place. Every time she was advised to cut corners, Kate deliberately advocated for me and quietly and carefully worked on me. I tipped her really well and would go back just for Kate. I'm writing this review because I think I got lucky and the place is run predominantly by a culture that actively wants to take advantage of its customers. read more

I used to like this place when they first opened, but lately the ladies have been doing a bad job. One of the techs (Van) hurt my toe nail and cut way too deep. I'm sure it's going to give me an ingrown nail once it grows again. She cut my cuticles so rough it was bleeding and I was waiting for her to apologize but instead she put alcohol that made it hurt and burn even more and she ignored the fact that she had hurt me. When it was time for the 5 minute massage she burned my legs with the hot rock. They don't do their job well and expect customers to tip them for their "great" service. Just moved to Houston and have found my new pedi spot. I was able to make a reservation and was promptly sat in a chair upon arrival. I will say compared to my last place in DC, they didn't do as well in removing dead heel skin, but were amazing in cutting my large nail that can grow in. The basic polish is also holding up well and the pricing was clear. They also set a timer for your massage length during the pedi - I was kind of shocked and wondered if people had been rude about it, but ultimately decided that I liked it for both the technician and myself. The salon was a tad loud, but suspect that later in the day when everyone was working w a client, that might not be the case. You can also tip on your card it seemed, but I had cash. First off I went in asking for a refill. I expected it to be anywhere from 20-30 dollars because of the area, not because that's what I pay for a refill. The refill price is $35 and to fix a nail its $4 and an actual powder full set is $48. Those prices are ridiculous and I am ashamed in myself for not going to my regular nail salon that charges me $30 for a one tone full set and $18 for a refill. This is what I get for needing my nails fixed ASAP. 2. I picked my color and everything was fine until she started to use the drill and kept hurting my cuticle every time she would go over. 3. Then she proceeded to change by nail shape from square round to more square and very very little round. 4. I needed my thumb on my right hand redone since the nail broke. Now the nail on my right hand thumb looks like it its half a size bigger than what my normal nail is. Oh and she also left acrylic all over my skin that she kept trying to scrape off with her nails and I finally told her to let it be because it was hurting so bad when she was trying to scrape it off. I stopped by this place because it's very close to my house. They were still running their grand opening promotion, so that was a plus. I was greeted right away and shown their menu and HUGE selection of colors. I was also offered something to drink as soon as I sat down for my pedicure. I got the cucumber spa pedicure and a shellac manicure. The lady that did my manicure was very fast and very precise. She didn't leave any gaps on the sides of my nails. The pedicure was great! I also loved the fact that they had a large color selection, and the salon was clean. The lady who gave me my manicure was very attentive. There is a USA Nails & Spa in Cypress where I usually get my nails done, but since I live in Memorial I thought about giving this spot a try and save on gas... Well bummer the lady was so upset when I decided to switch my ring finger color to another one (she had just applied it and still fresh) she was super angry and kept saying she couldn't do it after its been done before In other occasions...
