This package was suppose to arrive to me in Missouri on 10/28/2013, it finally arrived to me on 11/01/2013. There were 2 complaints filed in regards to this package, one by me and one by the seller. I contacted the 800# and sat on hold for over 20 minutes to get basically know where besides the basic information of name, address and shipping number because of the communication barrier. If I could give this facility less than one star, I would. I don't even believe it deserves a star. It has been three months now and the Christmas package I sent out to a buyer is still "in transit" via Bell Gardens Post Office. I sound like a broken record at this point, as other clients are feeling my remorse as well. Understand that if your package is processed through Bell Gardens, it is likely that one of the employees has pocketed it. Months later, after multiple complaints and after filing a report on the contents of my box, I received in the mail a perfectly removed address label from my package that some employee there had taken great care to remove and tape over. There is no possible way that the address label just magically came off like that. This is the scam they run, as stated by many other reviews here. They tell you your address label came off and that your box is now just floating around lost. Then, I'm assuming, the post office employees just dump all of your belongings into a pile and have a free for all rummaging through it, taking what they want and dumping the rest. All was moving smoothly like a well oiled machine until it arrived to this facility and allegedly departed on April 19th to its next destination. Several days (04/23/14) later no signs of my package nor there has been any updates on the status regarding new location. Now I can count myself among the hordes of dissatisfied customers who have had a package lost or mis-directed by this pathetic USPS branch. I know it's the holidays. I understand that millions of packages are in transit right now. I genuinely feel for those who work for USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHS, or any other delivery organization right now. It must be a nightmare. That being said, it's not that hard to look at a package, read an address within Los Angeles city limits, and put that package onto a truck for distribution in the city of Los Angeles. No, instead, this facility put my package onto an overnight freight flight to Greensboro, North Carolina. And that's where my package now resides. Of course, the number that is listed for this facility, 562-806-1625, just rings until the phone service provider hangs you up. And then when you call back, the line is busy with the next irate customer waiting to have the phone company eventually hang up the line on them. I see other numbers listed, but nothing works with those either. Therefore, I am on hold with the general USPS number with an estimated hold time of over an hour to see if I can get the package shipped back to Los Angeles before it disappears off the radar forever. It got routed to Bell Gardens which they then sent to North Carolina back to Bell Gardens then on to Richmond, CA... Now we wait. No wonder USPS isn't getting as much business as they used to. Whenever I purchase something on eBay or Amazon, I always cringe when I read that my package has arrived at this location! Usually, I get some form of delay whenever a package I'm waiting for arrives there! Although, I never had a package go missing from this location yet (THANK GOODNESS), I always fear that my package will get lost or stolen here on account of how long I usually have to wait before the package leaves this facility and on the fact that I'm not alone on this either. There was one incident where I had a package with a rip on the box. I called the Bell Gardens facility who told me, in a not very friendly tone, to call the USPS 800 number. I did this, and a representative helped me file a "case" about my package. She said that the Bell Gardens people should call me in 2-3 business days, but if they didn't, I should call back. She said this as if there was a distinct possibility that the Bell Gardens post office might not call me. A few days later my parents (who sent the box) received a notice in the mail with the shipping labels and postage label of my box attached. Apparently these labels had "come off" and my box was now floating around, with no labels, lost somewhere. The notice included a form in case my parents wanted to file an investigation. Well of course they will file an investigation, but... really? I mailed three boxes at the same time, and all had a rather excessive amount of tape wrapped around box and label alike. The labels fell off of this box? I've seen other reviews, here and elsewhere online about other people whose labels were torn from their boxes, and I can't help but suspect foul play. I guess I will never see that box again. It contained books from my much-beloved library, but... what can I do? Worst post office ever! This postal service has the rudest and shadiest emplyees ever. They claimed to have delivered my Armani package yet I never recevied it. I called and left my name and contact information for the supervisor. The supervisor named Hortencia never, I mean never called me back. I tried again the day after and they would not pick up my calls. What they did was pick up the phone and immediately hang up on me. They picked up and hung up on me 3 times. Magically, my package appeared a couple days after I reported the package with Armani and Armani began doing their investigations. However, my box appeared to be open. Our Ebay business is suffering tremendously due to the failure of the USPS and their ability to handle our packages in any timely manner. We have loyal customers who have purchased from us for years who now refuse to buy our product any longer. Here is just one of many instances: A package was mailed from Southern California on Nov.28, 2020 the same day our customer placed his order. And it arrived at Jersey City, NJ distribution center on Dec. 4th. Fantastic! The package was less than 6 miles from our customers home. However, on Dec. 5th it was redirected to Richmond California distribution center where it sat for more than 2 weeks. After 2 hours on hold with USPS we successfully opened a case and the package was located! However, then the next day we got a message "Case Closed!" Yet the package sat for another 5 days. Called the USPS again and again was on hold for another hour and twenty minutes. Finally was able to find a competent USPS worker who made sure the package was re-routed back to Jersey City, NJ. One month later after we mailed our product it was delivered to our customers home. Countless hours of our precious time wasted not to mention our reputation tarnished. Thank you Mr. DeJoy for your successful systematic dismantling of the USPS. My family sent me a package from Ohio. It left Ohio on 1/12 and arrived here on 1/17. Several days later, it mysteriously appeared in Chicago. After a couple weeks, I finally got the package with a giant hole in the bottom, wrapped in Saran wrap. There was a bottle of lotion that was totally destroyed and covered every single item in the package, completely ruining everything. What happened? There was also a bottle of Chef Prudhomme's Herbal Pizza & Pasta Magic. It was sealed on the outside and safety sealed on the inside when sent. When I received it, the exterior seal was broken, there was no interior seal and about 1/8th of it was gone. Some brainless asshole at USPS thought this was marijuana, so they decided to totally waste tax dollars by rerouting it elsewhere, so it could be torn open with no regard for the contents, on the off chance a bottle of spices turned out to be a few ounces of marijuana. This is my first Yelp! review I have written. My experience with a package that passed through this facility has to be noted. I had purchased some roof rack bars for my car from a seller in Los Angeles. He shipped it on a Saturday, and told me that it should take about a week to get to me, as it was shipped via USPS. According to the tracking history, it was shipped on 12 March 2016. There weren't any updates for a few days, but I didn't think much of it at first (it was a non-priority mail shipment, so I figured tracking was sporadic). 5 days later, I finally get an update, with tracking saying it had arrived at BELL GARDENS, CA 90201 on 17 March. No alarms were going off in my head yet, though I did wonder why it took 5 days to get an update on the package status. A week passed, and the tracking history did not update. That is when I did some Google searching and found out about the horror show that is the USPS Bell Gardens sorting facility. I read countless 1 star Yelp reviews, and started to worry about the fate of my roof rack bars. No way someone would steal my roof rack bars, I thought. They are too big to simply walk out of the facility! I tried putting in a claim into USPS, but their online claim submission form kept reporting an error. I tried contacting the seller, but wasn't able to get word from him. The package also wasn't insured. I was seriously thinking the $170 I had spent on my roof rack bars had just gone down the toilet. Them, miraculously, I got an update on the tracking status. Despite never getting an update stating my package had left the Bell Gardens facility, my package had somehow arrived at a USPS facility in my state (Maryland) on the 24th. I thanked my lucky stars, and expected my package to be delivered in the next couple of days. The next day, my package had been delivered to my front doorstep. I was horrified at what I found though: Despite the Bell Gardens facility's best attempts at destroying my package, somehow nothing was broken or missing, and my roof rack bars had survived and I was successfully able to mount them to my car. I don't believe in God, but having my roof rack bars arrive unscathed despite a trip through the USPS Bell Gardens facility had to be an act of God. No other way to explain how it arrived to me in working condition. read more

Because I'm home when I get the 'you weren't home to receive the package' message. What's worst is I get the notice paper that the package will be ready for pickup at a certain time. I go, wait in line, get there, and am told the package is not there because the mailman is going to try to deliver it again. Really? Plus the website doesn't work to process a redelivery. Amazon should use other methods of shipping. My package was out with the driver again because 'Amazon packages could not be kept on the office', per the Supervisor. Why? The book outlines my genealogy written by waldo Lincoln from William Bradford 1620 to my grandmother 11 generations later. Case opened and case closed 24 hours later, no explanation. The sorting facility here is not the most efficient or well organized USPS facility, as evident with all of the 1-star reviews here. Generally speaking, when receiving 2-day delivery packages that are routed elsewhere, I receive them within those two days. Packages that go through Bell Gardens, however, seem to get delayed there. While I haven't had the displeasure of getting packages entirely lost, damaged, or outright stolen here, my rating is based on delivery delays that seem to always coincide with routes going through Bell Gardens. So in short, I've never lost a package at Bell Gardens. But like everyone else who like to track their package delivery process, it's disappointing to have it delayed by a few days because the route happens to take it through Bell Gardens. 3-stars read more

A den of thieves, scoundrels and incompetents. The worst of the worst. For some reason, every once in a while a package on its way to me ends up in Bell Gardens. Don't ask me why, as it is is nowhere near where I live. Regardless, when a package shows up as "Processed through USPS Sort Facility BELL GARDENS, CA 90201", that's always the last tracking information before it disappears. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Maybe this place doesn't even exist, but instead is just the bogus tracking given when your parcel has been lost or stolen. I have no idea, bu if you see that the package you're expecting is , say goodbye to your chances of ever seeing it again... or of having USPS acknowledge their fault in the matter. read more
