I no longer order anything off eBay that comes from Brooklyn, NY now. The package always sits there for 5-6 days for no reason. Usually it sits in an "awaiting package acceptance" status, but occasionally it will be some other random ass status. Maybe they have some kind of vendetta towards their customers? It's the only post office that makes you wait 5-6 days before they move your package along and it's never not happened out of the 4 or 5 packages that have gotten shipped from the Brooklyn post office vs the entire country. How is it that the window reflects this business closes at 5pm, but they have a gatekeeper at the door shooing customers away at 4:50pm? When you bring to their attention that it's before 5pm, they tell you their hours have changed. I asked "is the hour change reflected on the USPS website?" CJ the "gatekeeper" who almost did not let me in, replied that he himself cannot change the website. If it's not reflected on the site or on the door, it isn't policy. It means it's Friday night, and you and your coworkers want to go home early. He turned away about another 4 people, and it was not even 5pm yet. It is unfair to those of us who work and have schedules where we get out of work at 4:30pm and race to get our money orders, letters and packages sent, bills paid, etc. I will be making a report to the USPS about this. read more

Always great when your package arrives open. But I guess I should be grateful for you letting me have this one, USPS. After all, only 1 out of 5 packages ever make it to my doorstep. It was not an experience I was looking forward to. As usual, I had postponed shipping boxes of Christmas presents way too long. What sane person would actually want to visit a Post Office on the Monday before Christmas? Sigh..... This was going to be a task that required research. What Post Office, preferably in Brooklyn, was located in a low foot traffic, decent street parking area? After a preliminary decision in favor of the Williamsburg PO, I followed up (of course) by checking its reviews on Yelp. Sigh!! Double Sigh!! Triple Sigh!! The reviews put fear & trembling into my heart. Every last one deemed this PO to be the absolute worst in the country. Ugggg!! Monday morning found me still determined to avoid long lines & a massive amount of time lost in a never ending quest for street parking. So off I went to personally experience the "worst post office in the country". Upon reaching the location I made an initial reconnaissance drive around the block. That was all that was required. I spotted a street well off the beaten path that looked like my bonanza. Still wary I exited the car and looked more closely for "No Parking" signs. There were none. Yes!! Two blocks away and I was parked, As I approached the door I mentally prepared for what I might experience inside. Come on. Let's go in. Christmas waits for no one. Much to my surprise there were not huge lines. There was one line, with counters on each side for ease in placing packages and heavy items during one's wait. When one reached the front of the line the next free window was theirs. Even though the wait wasn't long, the windows were understaffed. Only two postal clerks were available to handle all the Christmas shoppers. There were separate windows, out of the traffic path, for package & mail pickup and such. The space was small and appeared to be undergoing a renovation of some sort. Scaffolding draped the exterior. But my fellow procrastinators were friendly. And surprise, surprise; so was the postal clerk who handled my transaction. She gave me two large labels to cover the UPS tags on the used boxes that I had chosen. I was allowed to complete these address labels and return to the window without waiting in line again. The cost for mailing Priority (with tracking) boxes was very reasonable. The postal clerk told me when each package would arrive at its destination, both earlier than I had anticipated. She handed me my tracking receipt and I was done. Wow!! As I stepped outside I pinched myself to make sure I hadn't been dreaming. My Christmas boxes were on their way. Could this really be true? Feeling the weight of the packages lifted from both my arms and my brain's worry compartment, I crossed the street smiling. An extra bit of sunshine was added by the green space I passed on the way to my car. I sat on one of the numerous benches and relayed my great postal experience to the plethora of pigeons who, I'm sure, would have preferred food to talk. They decide to close an hour early leaving many people without help. The manager Paderma hides in his office and tries to ignore all the people who he has screwed over by closing early. 4 times I have gone to pick up a package for it to be "lost". So weird it was Nike boxes all 3 times. I hope they are a size 10. Some of the staff was thankful to me for calling him out for his complacency & general laziness. Go to this post office if you want to waste your day. BUT the general staff was very empathetic to my problems and did their best to try and help me. One even told me quietly that Paderma is POS who always closes early and is useless. This is the worst post office I have ever been to in my entire life. It's a bold statement, I know, but one that I can confidently say. I would give 0 stars if I could. The line is always out the door, the employees start the conversation with rudeness, I have had roughly 5 packages just disappear and received 0 help from this branch. I absolutely dread having to go in a pick up packages because there is always something, and they're never respectful and kind, absolutely never. On one occasion that I have to ship a box, they will not take it back behind the window, but rather they make me place the box out in the lobby on the floor. I tell them I don't trust it out there, and they say "then take it home, what do you want me to do?" On another occasion, I tried to go pick up my fiancées package for her, on the slip it says, "Sign here to authorize redelivery, or to authorize an agent to sign for you:" so she signs there. Then it says: "your agent can pick up your mail at the Post Office, if so, sign below in item 2, and enter agents name" so she put my name in. As I got to the window the lady looked at me, not saying "can I help you", but just looked at me. I handed her my ID and the slip and told her, "I am this persons agent picking up her package." Looking confused she points at my fiancées name and says "you're picking up this persons package"? And I said yes. She said, "I need her ID." So I then proceeded to read her her own document, clearly stating that I can legally pick up the package. She went and got the manager. The manager didn't even look at it and said, we don't care who you are, we need her ID. I'll update as this branch gets worse and worse. read more

Worst PO you want your packages from. I received a confirmation text stating my package was left at my mailbox, came home and I was gladly (Sarcasm) to see there was nothing in my mailbox. I filed an escalation with usps the same day 5/25/16, which I had to wait 45 mins to get help over the phone. Chick said wait a few days it might get delivered. Why would you have real time tracking package information if it's incorrect? Why would you scan a box and not deliver it? It doesn't make any sense. I feel like these people don't do their jobs the way it suppose to be. You go to a person's address, scan the box, ring the door bell, if no one's home leave a goddam note. It's that simple. I only ever came here to drop off packages in the stand alone bin located to the left of the entrance. I never had an issue with the branch or staff but I did notice that a ton of people were always waiting for service. In the morning around 8:45 I would walk in and see 5 people waiting for service but the lights inside the teller areas were off. During lunch time there would be 20 people on line at any given point with only 2 tellers. read more

Fuck this service in its fucking face. They said they attempted deliver of a package, which I'm pretty sure is a lie because it's a business address and we have a door man who gets all the packages. After getting an email saying I needed to pick it up because "the business was closed", I went there waited 35mins for them to tell me it was on the truck out for delivery. Went back to wait on it, never came. Went back the following day and this time waited over an hour just to be told the same thing. When asked why they couldn't tell me where it is, they just repeated themselves saying, "it's on the truck" . I have been to this location twice, including this visit. Both times the same terribly rude woman, clerk 08, serviced me. Both times she did not greet me with anything other than a stare. Today, i had to purchase tape to ship one priority box and the clerk advised i needed to step away back in line to tape the box. I asked if she could proceed with the transaction while i taped assuring her id be complete before she would. Rather than diffusing the conflict she walked away from the window, with her water bottle, and did not return for 5 mins. She refused to serve me and as a result held up the me and the other customers in line. At the time, she was one of two clerks working at the time. I had to move to another window where clerk 18 assisted me and was equally, if not more, rude. She began justifying why her coworker walked away from me. I asked her to call clerk 18 to return to the window, advising that her absence is causing others in a long line to wait. When i asked for her coworkers name and for a supervisor, clerk 18 refused. When i left the post office a customer ran after me to share clerk 08's information as she also had a poor experience with her. Both clerks should be held accountable for their unprofessional behavior. I left with a lack of confidence that my package will not arrive with out damage as a result of this negative interaction. Basic conflict resolution and customer service skills are terribly lacking at this location. This place is the POOREST representation of a government agency. I was not shocked to see my bad review amongst the slew of other bad reviews on yelp. I hope to advise neighbors to avoid this facility if at all possible. I do hope someone from USPS with influence on the development and recruitment standards of its employees reads these review and will take action to improve the service standards in this Brooklyn location. read more

They changed the one line for all windows to individual lines for each window. Who's the idiot who came up with this idea? So when you end up being stuck behind someone who's shipping 20 packages to 20 countries, you're stuck there until they're done. I waited in the window 3 line for 20 minutes when the woman with big thick glasses who looked like she belonged in an SNL skit, looked at me while finishing with the customer in front of me and told me, "line is closed", picked up her things and walked away. When I finally get up to the other window, I ask for the form for lost money orders and i'm immediately told, "we don't issue refunds for lost money orders". Oh, really? On the back of my USPS Money Order receipt it says you do. After showing this idiot the back of their own money order receipt she said I have to wait 30 days to file a claim for a lost money order. I called 1-800-ASK-USPS, and was told that was false, I could file the form right away. After relaying this information to this window idiot, she then tells me they're out of forms... read more

I have had multiple packages that have been returned to sender from this post office location, without any attempt to even be delivered to my home address (the tracking information states that the packages did not leave the postal facility, but were simply returned undeliverable - and they were simple, regular sized boxes). When calling the actual post office itself to try to remedy the situation, I was transferred to three different people and then placed on hold for over thirty minutes. I then attempted to go into the actual post office itself to deal with the matter in person, and was then treated in the most unprofessional manner. The people working at this location have absolutely no pride in their workplace and such a lack of care in providing their customers with any sort of thoughtful service.
