RE: Novi post office. Well... I should have received an important piece of mail earlier this week but as of today, nothing. And the keys that are in the "for large packages " are still there - for 3 days. So I googled Novi Post Office and got a number to I think a center. All automated. Got nowhere with answering the questions. All I wanted was to be connected with the Novi post office. So I gave bullshit answers which got me nowhere. I tried again answering all questions with 'Connect me with Novi p o. Automated finally connected me with another center. And asked me to choose what kind of music I wanted to listen to while waiting. ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME? CONNECT ME WITH THE NOVI POST OFFICE. Finally a person whom I could not understand got on. Just connect me to Novi p.o. But no. Here come all the questions the first automated wanted. After 10 min, she finally gave me the number to the Novi Post Office, after the address and hours. So I called the number, listened to the address and hours, got put on a hold and after ringing for what seemed like an eternity, got disconnected! I'M NOT A HAPPY PERSON! HORRIBLE!! read more

I came here on a Friday morning shortly before 9am. I needed to mail a package out of town and I selected the envelope I wanted to use from from the lobby. I took it to the available clerk and she had formed me that they were going to be other cost-effective ways to mail my package. She priced out a couple different options and I wound up saving a few bucks. I appreciate the time she took to help me find the best option. read more

This place is in desperate need of a makeover and staff redo. What is interesting is the hours are not posted in the actual facility so it seems the people working here choose to open whenever they feel like. Went here on a Monday morning and waited in the lobby at 8:34 am and still no sign of life inside or lights being turned on. This has to be the worst run post office I've seen. When employees are there they are frequently seen yawning away and just are not professional. Wish we could bulldoze this place to the ground and start over with a bigger / better staff and post office and parking like the west Bloomfield post office. read more

Super busy post office no matter the time of day. The parking lot is constantly packed, self service has a line, the regular desk services has a line. They are always hiring it seems too. At least the space inside is bigger than some of the other ones. It's pretty clean and organized. The employees are relatively efficient. It's just there's never enough of them. read more

USPS is not a carrier you can trust for timely delivery. I sent an envelope to Sweden and was told it will be delivered in a week but it ended up arriving in one and half months. Plus I went to this post office to send a letter size envelope to NC by 2-3 day priority and was told "expected delivery" by 9pm in 2/24. But it did not get delivered by the expected time. It still shows the package in transit. My understanding is expected to be delivered means if everything goes smoothly but they never guaranteed. DON'T USE USPS if you want something delivered timely. read more

This post office is always busy! When you pull in, it's a one way street and you either park or you continue driving to the letter drop off box before you exit the lot at the traffic light. Even if you park and go inside, when you leave you still have to drive past the letter drop off box since it is one way. If you can find a parking spot and you're just checking your PO Box, dropping off a pre-paid package, or getting free supplies, it can be a quick trip. If you need someone to help you, the line is always long and the service is slow. read more

Horrible service from Novi Post office on Novi Rd . I continue to receive others mail & don't receive all of mine . I've signed up for daily USPS informed delivery , so I know I'm missing mail bc I've never received them . I've complained to the post office manager in the past - to no avail . I just tried calling to speak to the manager adding regarding this issue - called 3 times , the phone rings & rings then message states I'm being transferred to operator & I get a disconnect ! This is absolutely unacceptable ! Who can I file a complaint with to get a satisfactory resolution, so I can receive my daily mail in a timely manner like I'm supposed to ?! Very frustrated ! This is my local post office and it's always busy here. You could go here on an off time, and you will still wait in line. The only good thing about this post office is the fact that is has the box. You can do self service at the box so you can avoid the line. Since everyone who goes to the post office is old, they don't wanna use the box, so just place your order there and you'll be in an out in no time. The box is a life saver. read more

if I could give it zero stars I would. Decided to use the post office to overnight a package that had to be there the next day. Instead, they lose my package. Package was for an event so since the receiver did not get it, it is useless now. What a waste of my time and money. Do not use the post office. They absolutely SUCK. I saw the clerk practically wrap the entire box with overnight express tape. So there's absolutely no excuse. The worst post office I've ever been to. They are extremely slow, don't have all lines open and as a result have very long lines for people to wait in. I came just to pick up a package as indicated on a form they left me and was at the post office after the time noted, waited for there for 30 minutes while someone looked for it and they couldn't find it. Do not mail anything expensive from this post office. Dropped off a package with my phone as a part of my phone trade-in program, and it never left this post office. Called this location multiple times and never got any response. Requested USPS for a search request, and all I got was a few automated emails saying that they couldn't find it. Mentioned about this to a few friends, and surprisingly same thing happened to one of them as well. Way to make people feel horrible and not being accommodating to any circumstance or going above and beyond. Long lines; couldn't-care-less customer "service"; avoid this post office at all costs. I waited in line for nearly one hour to mail a package. I've stopped in to mail things before, and every time the counter is only staffed by one worker who, try as he might, cannot make a dent in the long lines all by himself. There is no urgency in the attitudes or actions of any of the workers I have encountered here; don't stop in to mail anything unless you've got a significant block of time available. I would give zero stars if an option. Ordered a set of headphones from Amazon. Unfortunately they used USPS to deliver them, and by deliver them I mean not deliver them but say they did. Called to ask them why they say left in mailbox when there's nothing in my LOCKED mailbox?! Was basically told to go pack sand cause nothing they can do. The USPS can get out of their vehicle to leave a note in my mailbox to say that a vehicle blocked it, but couldn't put the mail in same said box. You have one job! This is why I pay everything on line. On top of that the mail very seldom gets into my box but is put in my neighbors' box that is 40 yards away! I hope Trump eliminates this waste and privatizes it. Me and my friend was having pizza and onion rings at Alexs' and noticed that there were way too many delivery trucks coming in and out of this post office. All over the town were these trucks. Don't buy their insurance. They deny valid claims. My receipt had a computer printed ship-to address, and the signature receipt had literally a different city and zip code. Submitted an insurance claim with all the paperwork, and somehow the USPS concluded they delivered to the proper address. This is one of my favorite government agency stories ever, so it's hard to be upset. After all, I guess one should know better than to put your trust in them! read more

I went to usps in Novi today. A lady weighted my package and showed the same price of 2 day and 5 day delivery options for $10.50. So I picked 2 day option. Then she measured the box and showed the price $20. I said I want the 5 day option which should be cheaper for the measured box size. I ship from home all the time. I go online and request a pick up from my door and it never gets picked up unless I call and complain that I received my mail and my package wasn't picked up. Their so rude when you call. Also I've lost numerous packages and you can never get a straight answer from anyone there about what going on even it you have a confirmation. It's never been a pleasant experience. Now I ups and I drop off which is a little more inconvenient but it never gets lost and the people their are super friendly. read more

Although I often wait in a bit of a line (there are some lackadaisical workers, and some who work efficiently), and I have had a package lost (if it's under $15, they just don't give a hoot to try to find it- say they throw them away), I think they do a decent job in general. I had great customer service over the phone so just now though... I called, and it rang and rang and rang until I got a busy signal. I called back and walked away to get something. I got connected to the afternoon manager before I got back to my tracking number (definitely different than the call seconds before). He listened to my problem, checked on my package, and left a note for the carrier to keep an eye out for it as it would be coming in a day or two (he also asked them to give me a call). I felt like he truly cared about my situation. Let's hope I get my package soon! read more

Last week I went to the Post Office in Novi to buy a roll of stamps, the clerk said he didn't have any???? I said well someone here must have some. So he slowly ambled over to get some stamps. 02/13/2017 Today, I went in to get reimbursed for an overnight package that did not arrive in time. When I went in there was no one ahead of me in line. There were two clerks at the counter. There was a sign on one that said it was closed. I went to the female clerk and she said she hadn't signed in yet. I waited for the gentleman to complete his preparation and asked for the refund and brought with me the receipt and tracking information. This whole transaction took over one hour. He obviously has difficulty with computers as he had to slowly walk to the back to ask help from his supervisor. His supervisor came out 3 times. I filled out forms and when he opened his cash drawer he said, "I don't have enough money." I said, "well get some then." Once again he ambled to the back room and another clerk came out to help. He rambled on about how his drawer was short again and he had put money in it. The line kept getting longer. His collegue asked him to take the next in line. I still had a package to mail. When I gave him money for the package he was preoccupied with something on the computer. He then asked me, "where did this money come from." This was a very unsatisfactory experience. I did get my money back; but I felt sorry for the long line waiting behind me. Inefficient, not well trained, not customer oriented, very disappointing. read more

Great post office. Carries everything you need from tape to shipping supplies. They have three cash registers so the wait is never too long.

This post office is one you want to avoid. I will go to Northville's post office, which is out of my way, but quicker to get in and out of.

First time I walked in and have not had at least 15 people ahead of me, and still got lousy service. When the lady working behind the counter finished with the one person that was ahead of me, she did not offer to help the next person in line. I waited a couple seconds and then walked up to the counter. She left me standing there for a couple more seconds while she completed the text she was typing.
