This review is for Northville UPS office on Cadycentre.  I made a notary public appointment earlier this week.  I received email confirmation.  I called and confirmed a few days ago.  I received another email at 5 AM today from UPS confirming the 1 PM appointment (5/23). When I showed up at 1 PM on the dot, I was told the Notary had just left for break and wouldn't be back for 25 minutes.  I informed them I had an appointment and it was confirmed.  I showed the mail confirmation. The staff texted and called him. They said it went straight to voicemail. The notary walked in around 1:30 PM after I waited for 30 minutes.  No apology, no anything.  I was charged the notary fee.   I usually do not complain about much, but this experience was completely unacceptable.  Mistakes happen, but making a customer wait 30 minutes when they had an appointment, not responding to texts or calls from his coworkers, I was shocked at the lack of responsibility, professionalism, and customer service..  Then to not receive a waiver of the $10 fee or at least an apology is unbelievable. I had a 5lb box to ship from Northville to Wyandotte. Online UPS was asking about $38 with $1800 in insurance for the lowest ground rate. About $48 for a porch pickup. So I went here thinking about $40 out the door. With insurance the young man in the Northville UPS store said $80 to ship! I quoted the online price and he said this price included some sort of "warranty" and that the online rate must have been incorrect. They rip you off here IMO. We took the package to UPS service counter in Livonia and shipped it for $34.40 with $1800 insurance! I also had another experience with an electronic item a few months ago. Where it was well over $100 for what Fedex charged $80 I believe it was. Stay away. read more

Today l needed a lot (827) of copies made. They were a mix of 1 sided, two sided and even different size paper. The employee guided me thru the whole process. She even refilled the paper well twice! I've been here several times and been happy with minor printing: think 5 or less copies. Today was a relief; I never could have done it alone. read more

I ended up here one day, trying to find a UPS store that was open on a holiday. This happen to be the only one open, oddly enough. I was so thankful as I was trying to return something in a timely finishing and had limited time to get it back. What a relief that this place was open on a holiday. Got there at 6:25 to make a drop off for an overnight delivery. Everyone was very helpful and I was able to get the package out. Unlike the FedEx store on six mile that advertises its last pickup is 7:00 and they close at 9:00, when in fact the last pickup is 6:00 and they close at 7:00. I'll never go to FedEx again. read more

I have been trying to get the Northville Michigan UPS store to process a claim for me. I have so far not received payment for the UPS error. I have gotten the run around from the person at the store. I would suggest not doing business with this place, and come to find out it is a franchise - not a "real" UPS facility. I appreciate that this store is here. They really helped me when I was in a crunch to get some pictures (artwork) packages to to go on a plane. That said, you pay for the service. When I went back to get a second set of pictures boxed and shipped, it was going to be $65 each for the box and packing, shipping NOT included. The pictures were fragile and large, but $65??? The box alone was $24. I bought a box for $6 at U Haul and $20 worth of packing materials and for them packed up to ship myself. So it's convenient and they do a good job, just a little expensive for my taste. read more

Let me start by saying I've been coming to this location for 7 years with no issues. Today they wanted to charge me 2$ to use their tape for a little package I needed to return. This was a first and when I asked politely if I could be excused this one time since I didn't know of the change- I was told no. Not sure if they're under new ownership or what but I will definitely be finding a new ups with better customer service. read more

We have a mailbox here. This store staff and owner are consistently courteous and ready to assist me with anything I need when I walk in. They ship packages for me regularly and always pack them carefully. I've never had a problem. Even with delicate Christmas cookies. They're convenient and parking is easy. Can't say enough about this store! read more

Matthew seems like a cool guy. However, he's not. He's just a creepy greedy person. The guy charged me 2(!) times what UPS.com shows to ship a package to the EU. I mean you've got to be out of your mind to be such an ahole and hope this will fly. Top tip: AVOID and just create a shipment directly from ups.com and schedule a pick up. The UPS Store in Northville has employees with a poor and grumpy attitude and long wait lines. I have switched to the UPS Store in Livonia on Five Mile because their customer service is so much better in terms of speed of transaction and happy employees that actually greet customers with a smile. read more

Had an appointment for 10 am on Saturday which I made via the online website. When I arrived the store didn't open till 12! This is incredibly inconvenient as downtown Northville is not easily accessible right now with Covid. I attempted to contact UPS and rectify this error, just to let them this was happening and was unable to reach anyone! Completely unacceptable customer service. read more

My go to UPS Store in my neighborhood. The staff is always friendly and attentive! Well stocked with items and always clean!

Went in to drop off my package that was pre labeled. Not one person in the store but the woman behind the counter was obviously very busy. After a "I will be with you in a minute", I asked if I could just leave my package because it already had a label. She said , no, we need to check it out, and then said that the pre label people usually are the ones trying to get away with something. The boxes are Mis measured, weighed incorrectly.... Come on lady, you are reminding me too much of my mother right now trying to keep me in line. This is Northville. I got it, I'm in my gym clothes, I'm sure I look like a crook. They are lucky they are the only ups close or I wouldn't be back. read more

After a rather horrid experience with our previous phone carrier we had to return a bunch of equipment and devices to them as part of our contract termination. Some of the items involved a $500 charge each if not returned in undamaged, working condition. Needless to say I was a little OCD about making sure all was packaged and wrapped properly to make sure we wouldn't end up with a hefty bill. Insert this UPS store. Barbara was so friendly, accommodating and helpful. She did an awesome job answering my questions and assuring me all would be fine. I left my stuff in their skilfull hands and felt confident that my items would end up safe and unscathed. Truth be told, I don't ship much so initially I was a little perplexed by the quoted cost. After an adjustment or two in the insurance department, the total was more palatable. In hindsight even the first cost would have been worth having paid for taking this massive hassle and worry off my hands. Convenience is King in my world. They offer great service, friendly personnel and a well-stocked store with all kinds of shipping related items. Still, the best part is the packing service.. This store can do simple things like make copies and send a prepaid package, 5/5 when they do that. However, when you ask them to do things like ship a package, track a package or pick up a package left there from the local UPS driver then you will have problems....please read the entire Review before deciding that I Have No Validity for this Rant...LOL. On several occasions, I hav encountered problems from the pre-mentioned staff members not quoting the correct price. For example, shipping a package to UK cost 60% more with same times/weights here. If you ship on UPS.com or choose DHL entirely you will save a bundle for international shipping. FYI- international shipping is best with the post office USPS but always takes longer and cost the person your shipping to fees. That is what DHL is best for I international shipping...your believe it when you see the price differences. Anyways, most recently when I went to pick up a package the staff informed me that my package was left at the doorstep day before and was not in the store even though the Ups.com agent informs me that package was in in the store. The staff just doesn't check packages by address but instead checks by name...warning if you and spouse have different last names. She gave me the run around and told me the package was LOST and to call 1800 number the find it...., the other guy, later found the package after 3 phone calls to the store. They say that because one shipment might have several tracking numbers they don't always check all of them. I say to her- isn't it their JOB to check tracking numbers and names, that is what Ups store employee are expected to do. She did apologize and said they are only human - but it seems like I'm not alone. Many other people are getting poor service and high prices for services. Ups store could do better... read more

15 plus years of on line shopping, never an issue of packages making it to their destinations without resolution. The week before christmas this store was busy, I just left my package without getting a receipt. First time ever. I had to catch a plane. I had total trust in the system. The package was secure, paid for, label with my name and info on it. Wouldn't you know it never made it to the destination and I am out 150 dollars. And the store has no way of tracking it. I find it hard to believe it's a coincidence and the store just kept reciting the 1 800 number in my ear over and over again and of course there is nothing the national company can do because it is truly a local store issue. Poor customer service. Lesson learned however northville ups I will no longer be using your services due to your unkindness. read more

I like this place! The staff is excellent and very helpful. I always come to this store since its a different owner and new staff. The only negative was a few people in line but that's anywhere you go. I recommend this place to everyone I know. The staff are super friendly and always help me in any way they can and if they can't answer my question I just call the 800 number like a normal person and ask ups customer service . I ship from this store a lot and anyone who needs to ship anything out I definetly would give it a try. I also forgot my tape and they didn't charge me a fee. Usually great service but make sure you get the shipping address read back to you if they are making the label. My package was delayed two days as there were two mistakes in the shipping address. My fault for just reading off the address and not double checking. I tried to change it on UPS website when I found out there was a problem, but it would only allow one correction. Very disappointed in the service I received. I went there to ship an Amazon return consisting of 2 pair of shoes in their boxes. I arrived with my pre-printed, pre-paid UPS label and even my own packaging tape. All I needed was a small to medium size box which I didn't have at home. I was hoping they would have a box, any box , to use...maybe a box they would otherwise take to the dumpster. They told me they couldn't help me and charged me $2.24 for a large bubble wrap envelop (very flimsy) The not-so-nice lady behind the counter gave me some "line" about liability when I asked about the perfectly good used boxes I spied on the floor behind the counter. I should have gone out and garbage picked their trash for a used box. So much for helping out your neighbor! Sadly, my faith in mankind dropped a few notches. I agreed that if you don't like people you should find another job. I'm from a very small town and this wouldn't have happened there because we help each other out. I shouldn't be upset over $2.24 but it's the principle. If you want friendly, hometown service , this is not your UPS. read more

It's the same as any other UPS - same prices etc the only difference being customer service. I arrived at 8:30 this morning which is when they open. I was in a bit of a rush, by 8:35 I was still waiting for the lady to finish getting her register ready. I don't thinks it's to much to expect that if you open at 8:30 that you are ready to take customers at 8:30. I have been to this particular UPS three times now and each time it's like i did one of those superstitious things (seeing a black cat cross the road, walking under a ladder etc) to bring on bad luck because on all three occasions I have had the same cranky woman serve me. Urgh she is so grouchy. News flash lady, if you don't like people maybe you shouldn't work in a job that requires you to deal with people! I'll point out that she is the only one that's cranky. The other two people always seem friendly. The other lady always has a nice friendly smile, try to avoid the lady with curly hair if you want a pleasant interaction. read more

Would never use this location again. Beware if your shipping, owner is completely dishonest and refuses to acknowledge she overcharged for something she couldn't possibly deliver. Paid for overnight shipping, and after the package sat at her location for over 4 hours the UPS hub where it was supposed to go could in no way deliver it because THEY WEREN'T OPEN TO RECEIVE IT!! This owner will more than likely come on here and blame the weather to try and absolve herself from issuing and kind of adjustment. Fact is, weather IS NOT the cause, the HUB WHERE IT WAS SENT IS NOT OPEN ON WEEKENDS TO PROCESS PACKAGES!!! So my 1 day shipping became 3 day shipping and this owner refuses to issue an adjustment for he delay which she should have known about before telling a customer she can get a package somewhere she can't overnight. That would be your job as a legitimate business owner, to know what you are capable of doing before overcharging customers and then refusing to correct your obvious malfeasance. Use the UPS on Schoolcraft in Livonia, WAY more professional plus the packages leave from that location and don't languish for over 4 hours at a franchise location. Completely useless owner at Northville store, do yourself a favor and take you business elsewhere. read more

Beware that UPS charges by volume or weight which ever is greater. I mailed a package there and was amazed at how expensive it was compared to my on-line estimate. When I got home I looked at the receipt and saw that they had been "generous" in their dimensional measurements and ran up the cost about $10 on me. My 13 pound package was charged at the 35 pound rate. Next time I think I'll use the post office. read more

I do a lot of shipping and shredding through this store. The services offered are no different than any other UPS store but this place stands out because of their customer service. (Not to mention the cookie my dog always gets.) They are always friendly and service is quick. This is the worst store for service, I filed a claim because the package I sent never got delivered to the person I sent it too. Both the ups store and ups just disregard my claim. I even showed evidence that ups delivered the important paperwork to the wrong place. Last time I went in to talk to Jennifer was the Saturday before Christmas she wasn't there but I was assured she would call me on the Tuesday after Christmas. This has been going on for months now without any resolution. My friend received a notification that ups dropped off a package at his house because he was out of town on business when I went to pick it up there wasn't a package there. I will never use the ups store or ups for anything I will use the post office much better track record. If you value what you are sending don't use the ups store or ups, they don't care if your package gets to its destination and will not resolve your claim, they hope you forget and go away.
