If your business depends on getting packages scanned in a timely manner, or even getting scanned at all, RUN! far, far away from this location. In my opinion, this post office is just the worst! Choose another post office. I feel, based on my own experience, they do not even care about the patrons that come in, and they do not appear to work hard, in my view. My guess is they are just coasting along until they get their posh pensions. I have been to other post offices that are like night and day from this one. I have seen good customer service, caring, and good work ethics, and so I know it is possible for a post office to perform well, like a business should. This review does not apply to all post offices. This location also delivers your medications, bills, IRS mail, and bank statements to your neighbors instead of your house. So if you do not wish for your medications or social security number to be delivered to your neighbor, get a P.O. box at a different location. Do HIPAA laws apply to the post office?-- must not, because misdelivered medications has happened to my neighbor, also. read more

This is a long review but I suggest you read til the end! as you see by the majority of the reviews, this USPS location offers horrible customer service. I have gone very few times but each time I visit this place every front cashier employee act like they hate their lives. They will treat you like they are doing you a favor by just being there. It was the last visit though that really placed the cherry on the sundae. There was a language barrier between I and the lady helping me, she wasn't understanding what i was saying this urging her to raise her voice at me and argue. All i did was make a suggestion on a confusion on my part to avoid confusions from other visitors. she wasn't understanding what i was saying so in order for me to put an end to her hostile behavior i told her to charge me for my packaging material so that i can get out on my way. She screamed at me "enter your card", a few seconds later the receipt prints and i take it from her. ANOTHER associate screams out as i was walking out "Please dont come back!" So my only response was "FU" and she responded back to that as "FU TOO!" i do admit that my response was uncalled for but being asked to not come back by an associate was extremely unnecessary. i called right after a left to talk to a manager who apologiez but also justified both of their behavior by saying that people have bad days sometimes. I am in a customer service management role and there is no justification for this behavior. you cant work with people if 1. You allow your personal issues affect your performance and attitude. 2. you get triggered with the dumbest things and kick out or hang up on any customer. And 3. You dont speak nor understand fluent english because this was the problem that caused the problem to begin with, the associate helping me did not understand fluent English thus getting aggravated with me because i supposibly was dumb and did not understand what she was saying. This facility needs a whole new management and whole new employees in the front office with people that are bilingual but fluent in English and for people that have customer care backround experience. No wonder I always drive past this location and I barely see any activity in the parking lot. I visited the carol stream USPS, super busy but they had awesome friendly and helpful employees, definitely worth the drive. read more

There is a reason why USPS is one of the worst run operations in the world. Customer service is next to zero and the efficiency of this place is as good as shoveling snow in the city with a fork. USPS - Worlds longest line - Post Offices Near Me - West Chicago, Illinois

Most post offices naturally fall under what you would call a "Typical Government Facility". That being said, this one needs major improvements. - August 4, 2014, had a package with $185 worth of collector dolls never make our mailbox, even though USPS tracking said it was "delivered." Package was either stolen out of our mailbox (unlikely, but possible), or, mis-delivered elsewhere (most probable) and just never returned by some other idiots. Package to this day has never surfaced. We went thru every avenue to try and find resolve for this - we contacted a head honcho at USPS (who's name is Ryan Kucera: RRKucera@uspis.gov), we attempted to talk to the Postmaster 3 times (who didn't return ONE phone call - go figure), a postal manager twice, the regular driver himself, the police, Ebay, Paypal, our insurance company, even 9 of our neighbors (some of whom also complained of lost or mis-delivered mail). Long story short, the USPS honcho "couldn't find anything out", nobody accepted any responsibility (and pointed the finger at everybody else), our neighbors "knew nothing", and ultimately we took the loss of almost $200. The postal 'manager' in particular at this location was arrogant, and very quick to shun the blame at just about everybody or everything else - including blaming the SELLER, even though by this point it was already proven the seller shipped our item and tracking showed it as positively "delivered". Ebay/Paypal also could not refund us - naturally - because according to all records, the item was shown as "delivered". - As touched on above, over the years we have had countless mail items mis-delivered, or, we have received some of our neighbors' mail which we had to walk down (and vice-versa). We understand mistakes can and do happen, but this is almost regular. * There have been several times where we have had mail mis-delivered to us that was from addresses several miles away! How this happens, I do not know. It makes you wonder though just where our package containing $185 worth of dolls could have ended up... - The last few years, our mail has sometimes arrived in early evening hours between 6-7pm. Though this is not every day, it has been pretty consistent - and not just around Thanksgiving or the holidays. One night a few weeks ago, the mail came at literally 8:30pm at night. (* At that rate, just have your drivers go home and deliver the mail the next day.) We cannot blame the over-worked driver for this per se, as this is probably due to shortage of employees and somebody having to take over another driver's route, or even two routes. Treat your drivers better and hire some more employees. - At the actual post office, service as previously mentioned can be a crap shoot. Sometimes you may go in and there may be NO lines. Other times, there is one employee and the line is backed out the door. Some of the front desk employees are nice, some have more bad (angry) days than good ones. Cecelia = very nice. Fran = nice. Martha = nice. Leticia = nice. Mary = usually bad mood, loud, snappy with customers (though she will occasionally have nice days) . John = retired a few years back, was ALWAYS in a foul mood. Postal 'Manager' = arrogant (see above). Keep in mind some of these people have been here years and are probably making well over 75k a year, and due to them having a "government job" - cannot be fired. FINAL NOTE: Just a few days ago, I went to drop off some outgoing mail into one of the outside mailboxes (there are 3). As I pulled up to the middle mailbox I saw envelopes hanging out of the opening of the box and envelopes literally ON THE CONCRETE by the curb in the drive-up lane!!! I pulled my car into a parking spot and then walked over and picked up the envelopes and saw the mailbox shoot "clogged" with people's outgoing mail!! WTF? I cleared the opening and put all of the envelopes back into the mailbox. I can only imagine what important utility bills or credit card payments were just laying around and may have been lost, stolen, or "ran over" if it wasn't for me stopping. POST OFFICE: CHECK/EMPTY THE MAILBOXES OUTSIDE IN A TIMELY FASHION!!! Big improvements needed. I have a small business and go to this post office 1-2 times a week. I've never been greeted with a smile and everyone working there acts like you are a nuisance to their day. Except Rhonda and the kind asian woman (I don't remember her name) working there. I feel so relieved when I see them at the counter instead of the any of the others because I know I won't be treated rudely or spoken to in a condescending way if I have a question or problem. I'd give 0 stars, but those 2 stars are for those 2 hard working gals :) I've also had COUNTLESS packages lost when I use this post office... because I'm a business that means I lose money, time, and customers. Honestly, use a different post office if you like to be treated professionally and have your packages or letters handled with better care. read more

Our mail is now being delivered between 5:30 and 6:30 pm. It used to be delivered in the very early afternoon, so you had the rest of the business day to respond to whatever needed to be taken care of, the same day. I never thought I would say this, but maybe privatization is not such a bad idea. read more

Poor, poor service. We regularly get neighbors' mail and packages. We have mail go "missing." One time our entire street received the mail from the house next to each. Our mail is consistently not picked up. In fact, today I watched as the postal worker looked straight into our mailbox at the bright neon-green envelope inside and chose not to pick it up. When I approached her about it, she exclaimed "I promise I did not see it." Yeah, right. read more
