My friend turned me on to this spot. I got an email invite to purchase a portion of a cow and I jumped all over it. Literally 2 weeks and my order I got an email that my order was ready for pick up. I drove over tonight and it was dark, and the street, being rural, had no lights. When you enter the property you'll see a sign that says "No Entry", drive through, stay to the left of the house and in the back you'll find the retail store. See pics of the entrance. I told the nice ladies inside the store my name and asked me to go outside, turn right, to see Travis who will load up my car. Sure nuff, T Money had my two 35 pound boxes ready to load in my car. I've not yet tried any of the beef yet but when I do I'll update the review. This spot is my new jam... can't wait until I run out of eggs. read more

This meat is barley eatable, has an awful spoiled taste to it. Meat looks and smells fine before cooking but any cut with more fat and bone has that spoiled taste to it, we spit and threw the T-bones out after the 1st bite. So far only the ground beef and stew meat has been any good. Sucks cuz we spent $500+ and haven't been able to eat any of the prime cuts. The steaks were cut thin as well. I much prefer Costco's grass fed beef and their regular store beef to their meat any day. I will never be buying meat from them. read more

I have recently made a conscious effort to be more of a locavore. This has always been an idealistic interest of mine, but after reading The Omnivore's Dilemma, I decided to truly follow through on these intentions. Utah Natural Meats is a bit out of the way for me, even more for anyone in Salt Lake, but it's not THAT far, and even if you weren't all that interested in the store, it is so very fun to visit the farm. Crowds of calves greeted me on arrival. Some particularly vocal ones (I think they were hoping I had a snack) caught my initial attention, but then I noticed so many other groups all around the farm, plus giant horses, including one gorgeous all white fellow showing off and traipsing about. I also saw ducks, and I am sure there are other animals, too. This was exactly what I was searching for! I want to eat meat, but I want to know these animals lived a good life, and here, you can see for yourself how they are treated: that they have plenty of room and food, live their lives outdoors in clean areas, and spend time gallivanting with companions. Inside the shop, I was surprised to find more than just a few cuts of beef; in fact, they had some especially interesting and less common animal products like beef liver, cheek, tongue, oxtail, marrow bones, and tallow, pork fat, organs, lard, and cracklins, plus various broths, and even chicken feet (they make the most luscious and healthy broth EVER)! Of course, they had many meat standards, sausage, even a bit of lamb. Eggs, raw milk, kefir grains, and villi cultures are available, plus cheese, a bit of produce, bread, and other local products. Prices are higher than you will pay in a grocery store, but absolutely worth the slight additional cost when you take into consideration the care of the animals here. I shopped here for a couple of years and loved it. Then I think they advertised (heard someone in line talking about it) and all of a sudden the lines were out the door. You had to wait 10-20 minutes just to get inside the little store and then had to continue waiting in the line as it wraps around and grab the items you want as you pass them, which takes another 10-20 minutes. If you accidentally pass something you want, forget it. There's no going back. Ridiculous. I used to be able to walk right in, walk around the store at will, browse if I wanted to or not, and then get in line to check out. Not any more. I love supporting local but the 30-40 minute crowded experience isn't worth it to me. read more

From the beginning I want to mention that I grew up in the family who had a little farm. First of all this is NO WAY grass only fed beef or lamb (that's what we purchased here). All the meat have too much fat on it (mostly fat). Also 90% of meat cuts come with bones. And bone-in meat prices suppose to be way cheaper. So that was a big disappointment. Also in the same package they mix together meat from different cows/lambs. I DO NOT recommend you to buy your meat here!!! Save your money!!! However, ground meat is very good. So this is the only thing that we might buy here in the future. read more

Love this family owned and operated farm store! If you want raw milk in the south valley area, this is the spot. They can sometimes run out so I recommend coming early. There is usually a line of cars waiting for the gate to open. They have freezers full of all kinds of meats. Locally and responsibly raised, and super good. In the summer they have some veggies and honey and other items like raw milk cheese, but the meat is the star of the show. In addition milk and delicious meats, they sell chicken feed by the bag. It's super high quality feed for a great price. Just under $16 a 50 lb bag. read more

The product from this farm is excellent. However they are not taking the pandemic seriously enough. Picking up bulk orders the farmer is not masked. I have shopped there and had people come in without masks and no one says anything to them. I sincerely hope they get a clue and start taking the pandemic seriously. My wife and I (Chris & Brian Seitzinger) have been going to Utah Natural Meat for over ten years and have never been disappointed with anything we have purchased. Shane & Kirsten are awesome people. We have purchased their hamburger, ground lamb. sockeye salmon, halibut, milk, goat milk, chicken feed for our 30 chickens, breakfast sausage and found everything to be of high quality. In the past we have noticed people buying their turkey's. They grow their own foder and take really good care of their animals. Everything we have purchased has been high quality and we don't mind paying higher prices for better quality food. I don't understand how anyone could give them a one or two star review. We would highly recommend them without any hesitation or reservation would recommend them to anyone who enjoys eating healthy. Their Soickeye Salmon and Halibut are the very best we have ever eaten. Their hamburger and lamb burger is also very good. They are also very good to their customers. We are grateful to have a business like Utah Natural Meat & Milk to purchase excellent food from. Quality products from a local farm. Support local thru buying local. Concerning masks, every time I've been there the staff inside the store has them on. However they do allow customers to make their own medical decisions as adults and do not require masking as a condition of entry. This is not a factory farm. Great meat eggs bones and organ meats which I use for my dogs raw diet. I support local farms especially when they are transparent. You see the animals and how they are treated which is a priority for my family. Basic little store nothing fancy which is nice to help keep the prices down. Great place! The quality of the meat and eggs is very good. The lamb stew meat was tender and delicious, and the eggs ($5/dozen) were fresh and had nice hard shells. The meat, which all comes from their farm, is packaged and stored in large chest freezers, with their contents and price listed on chalkboards hanging nearby. There were two helpful, friendly people working there on a Saturday: a woman working the cash register and a girl bagging purchases. I'm looking forward to going back and trying some other meats. read more

I was really hoping to stumble across a gem here. Not for me. You drive up into their cute little farm. Your shopping is basically opening up a bunch of freezers and refrigerators and grabbing what you want. You will not be able to see what you're getting, just reading the wrap and paying for it. Bought ribeyes to try out. Each ribeye you buy is actually not 1 piece. It's like 1 full rib eye but cut into 2 pieces. I'm ok with that. After marinating and grilling, the meat turned out to be chewy, all properly cooked. There's a pretty decent amount of gristle in these steaks. It's $11 per ribeye. I won't be coming back for these. The bacon, granted it's Canadian style. Didn't seem fresh to us when we cooked it for breakfast. I was extremely excited to try out the steaks as I'm trying to do some research for business. Go elsewhere. Unless you're sold on natural and grass-fed beef regardless of taste, go for it. FYI, they're only open 2 days a week. Visit their website for their hours if you're going. read more

This place is amazing! It is so refreshing to be able to get meat and eggs from pastured animals for a reasonable price. The meat and eggs taste better than any I have had in my life. They are fresh and flavorful. They are super friendly and will even answer questions outside of store hours. I love the raw milk here! It is so good, nothing matches it anywhere in Utah in my opinion. They also used to sell this oatmeal goat soap that was absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately I can no longer go there anymore because of the progression of a muscular dystrophy I have. The parking lot is very uneven and is topped with a very large gravel, and the entrance is not handicapped accessible. You have to step down to go inside the building right from the gravel parking lot so there's no way I can get inside the building now that I'm in a wheelchair. When I could walk, I had to be very careful because of the gravel parking lot being so uneven, and the step down into the store was not a normal height. Seniors, should walk with care as well. During the snowy months the parking lot is even more treacherous. I wish they had made some kind of drive-thru, which may have solved all of their access issues without having to redo their parking lot or entrance. read more

Very principled cleanly run farm. They don't just feed their animals grass, but they go the extra mile to grow sprouted grass made from a variety of seeds. This makes the grass much more easily digestible to the animals and keeps them healthy and happy. All the crap you buy at the store is from mostly grain fed animals. Their organic raw milk is unbelievable too. These guys aren't going for power and money and treating their animals terribly in the process, they do it the right way. UNM is one of the best local markets in the SLC area. They are friendly and helpful when you have questions. For anyone who doesnt understand the differnece between grass fed and grain fed,- 100% grass-fed beef is so much more healthy even though its smaller and leaner. I dont want soy and chemicals in my food. I appreciate that there are local farmers in our area. I have been a Butcher Box subscriber and the flavor and quality of UNM is superior. read more
