The initial consultation took almost three weeks to transpire, mainly due to our primary residence being in another state. But they were more than accommodating to our hectic schedule, which even included their salesman being willing to meet with my husband at 6:00 in the morning! The options they brought to the table were endless and rather inspiring. After a handful of choices, we decided on all new Pella windows, Hardie and steel siding, stone accents and some really good looking raingutter. They even ended up blowing in new insulation in a number of exterior walls. All the installers were amazing to work with and it was very comforting to know we could trust them with access to our home while we were away. We did experience some material delays during the process, but we regularly face supply issues in our own business and realize this was not a reflection of their company but rather the current state of our economy. The transformation took just over six weeks to complete. Because we could only revisit the project twice during construction, they would regularly send pictures and videos of their progress. Their attention to detail and concern for our home was so very much appreciated. All in all, we can't say enough about how pleased we are with everything and how highly we would recommend their services. Our hats go off to their entire team!

Last March I went to the Salt Lake Tribune Home show, I wanted to look at windows. I have been in…read moremy house for 24 years and for the most part my AC is on all Summer and my heater is on all winter and my house is freezing all winter. My current windows were a double pain glass with an aluminum frame. I had updated the insulation in my attic a few years ago and I think this helped a bit with the heating and cooling, when I stand in my bedroom bay window, I could feel the winter chill very well. I think I was just 1 or 2 degrees from seeing the winter steam in my breath. I stopped at a couple of window booths and was left a little cool by most of the salesmen, several didn't want to show me much of the product, they just wanted to schedule an in home demo. I did stop in and visit with Mountain States. Dave was actually pretty chatty and was happy to show me his product. He spent a half hour or so showing me his windows, why a triple pain window is a good way to go and how their vinyl frames would be so much better then my aluminum frames. He said that he knows that his windows would definitely help keep my house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. I decided to invite him out to the house for a demo and to provide a bid. I also selected two other window dealers to come out and do the same. I have a total 23 windows in my house, the front of my house has 9 windows. I had the three dealers come out, about a week apart from each other, and I had each of them just bid the 9 front windows as I really didn't want each of them going from room to room measuring the windows over and over. The first bid came in and I thought that it was outrageously overpriced for just the 9 windows, and this was for double pain windows. They were thick double pain windows but still just double pain. Mountain States came in at about 1/3 of that cost for their triple pain windows and the other vendor was just above Mountain States and were also a triple pain window. Why do I think triple pain is better then double pain? If you look at the Questar and Utah Powers rebates, they give you a bigger rebate for triple pain windows. I would have received about $120 from the double pain windows and I received about $1100.00 for the triple pain windows that I had installed. I figured if they were giving a higher rebate they are probably better windows. After visiting with the three dealers I ended up choosing Mountain States, I liked the product and I liked Dave. I invited him out to measure all windows and to give me a quote. The quote ended up being less then I thought it would be for all 23 windows. I went to the bank, got the funds and ordered with Dave about a week later. The windows were delivered and installed about a month after I placed the order. Willy (the installer) called and scheduled an installation date and time. Now the installation is a little intrusive and a bit messy but Willy and his assistant did a great job with the install. Willy came with a tarp that he put down before he started working on the window, a vacuum to clean up any debris, loads of caulking for the new windows and all the tools needed. He didn't need anything from me except to move any furniture out of the way. It took him two days to install all the windows, they looked great and it was nice how little outside noise I could hear compared to the old windows. Another nice thing about Willy is that he doesn't try to hide any issues that came about. I had two windows with rounded tops. He explained that sometimes the sheetrock around these type of windows easily break because there isn't wood behind the whole length of the rounded sheetrock. He installed these windows on the first day as they were more challenging and they did break a little but he patched them up. On day two he sanded what he had patched and they were good as new. He also found a crack in one of the windows. He came to me and showed me the problem, he let me know that he was going to install it anyway but that a new window had been ordered and he should be able to deliver and install it in about 2 weeks. He did indeed call two weeks later and setup a time to fix this one window. The reason it took me so long to write this review is because I wanted to see how these windows would change the airflow, heating costs and feel of my house, especially my freezing bedroom. It is now January and it is truly amazing how comfortable my house is now. I can't tell you how big of a difference the feel is, the bay window is comfortable, I can sit in my chair next to it and not be chilled. My heating bill is probably about 35 to 40% cheaper then in the past years. I am definitely happy that I replaced the windows and happy that I went with the folks at Mountain States Windows.

We signed on a contract on July 2nd. I was told we'd be called for setting a measurement appointment within two days. We were not called. I contacted them. I had communicated an eagerness to get the windows in due to my daughter's current window causing her to be uncomfortably hot. As such they assured me we have them most likely closer to 4 weeks. I checked in multiple times to see if the windows were ready or if the manufacturer had given a ETA. All but one of the 9 windows (plus a sliding door) were finally installed August 20th while the most important window--for my daughter's room--was not even ordered from the manufacturer! They said they would rush order the window and it'd be ready in 1 week. It's now been 11 days and still the window is not ready and they haven't said when it will be ready. In addition, I was assured they have the best installers. Unfortunately those installers didn't lay down any protective measures or clean up after themselves so our carpet, beds and furniture we're covered in dust and small metal shavings. Also they left a big gash next to a window which they said they'd fix but not until we pointed it out (see photo). Still not fixed as of 9/7/2018. Not satisfied with their service. Will update if anything changes. Cascade Windows seem good though.

Bighorn came out with satellite photo measurements in hand, inspected the roof, and gave me a bid in 48 hours with an itemized contract. Could not recommend them more. They had all materials and a dump trailer delivered two days prior so they were ready to go the day of with no delays. Both crews were really nice and they even hauling away some extra garbage I had on the side of the house at no extra cost. Roof replacement is an extremely messy job but their cleanup was incredible! Aside from the gorgeous new roof, there were no indications that work had even been done! My yard was even cleaner than before and they even used a magnet to ensure no nails were hiding in the grass. Absolutely would recommend to friends and family! 10/10

The Crew this…read morecompany contracted out to do the work did a good job for the most part they did leave a bit of a mess in some areas (namely nails from the shingles on the roof). Initially we went with them because they had said that they would make working with the insurance company seamless and extremely easy. They said they would take care of everything. Oh how wrong that statement was. after 1 month of them doing the initial work John West the owner sent a letter to us saying that he had put a lien on our house for non-payment, he then continued to call, text and email my wife demanding that we pay him. come to find out at that time he had not even sent the invoice to our insurance company or supplied them with any photos of the completed work, so they could cut the depreciation check for us to pay him. It then took him another 5 months to finally give the insurance company the needed information for them to send the payment out. After he sent me several emails demanding to know why this was taking so long, I called my insurance company to find out that all of this. When I sent him an email and then later had a conversation with him on the phone pointing out that it had taken so long because he was not suppling them the needed information. He got very irrational, defensive and insistent that he was now the victim of me "Harassing & Bullying him" he then proceeded to threaten me with filing lawsuits against me with his lawyer. Through an email exchange lasting over several hours he would insist that I continued to owe him varying amounts of money(changing with every email). The only type of invoices he would provide me were with, were jpegs of crumbled up pieces of paper that were scribbled and highlighted on barely even able to be read, (not a PDF as is standard with every other business.) The amount of disrespect, frustration and unprofessionalism we experienced while dealing with John can not be overstated or fully comprehended in this review. Many of my neighbors used him and I have not talked with one of them that did not have a bad experience with dealing with him.

I hired Snowbird to replace my roof in 2023. In December 2024 we looked in the attic and noticed the roofing crew had replaced a damaged roof panel as requested in the contract, but had completely boarded over the vent for the bathroom fan. They left the vent hose laying on our attic insulation, which has been venting water condensation directly on our attic insulation. It wasn't worse because there happened to be a valley in the hose that held the water. We dumped over a gallon of accumulated condensation water out, that had been accumulating over a year! They also failed to replace a previously water-damaged roofing panel as requested when we hired them. That moldy damaged panel is still in place. Absolutely unacceptable.
