I had a horrible experience with UTG. I purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot in 2020 and also purchased the extended coverage. I recently had my ice maker go out, so I contacted Asurion (insurance provider) and they set me up with a repair with UTG. They contacted me to confirm, and Edward (I assume owner?) came out. He checked out the refrigerator and told me he'd order a replacement ice maker and a few other parts. A week later, a different technician came out to perform the service. He said give it 24-48 hours for ice to come down. 3 days later, no ice. I called them back, and Edward told me he was at a job and he'd call me back after looking at his schedule. 2 more days passed with no callback. I called him again; this time he asked me to push the reset button on the unit and wait 3 hours for ice to drop. Guess what? 3 hours later, still no ice. I call him back and he once again said he's at a job, and will set me up with an appt to come back out. 2 more days passed with no callback. I still wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, calling back again, hearing the "let me check the schedule and call you back" to no avail. So I contacted Asurion and they told me they'd get me a different company, but somehow this didn't make it up as UTG was assigned once again. I called Asurion back and they re-filed a new claim and assigned it to an actual Samsung approved technician. In the meantime, UTG kept blowing up my phone to schedule a time to come, and their tech even showed up at my door one day unannounced. I had to call Asurion to tell them to ask UTG to STOP contacting me and to NOT show up at my door. I escalated the issue and filed multiple complaints with Asurion about UTG and the shoddy work they performed. Once the Samsung tech came out, he asked when we purchased the fridge. I told him 2020. He laughed and said that UTG installed a 2017 part on my refrigerator. It was never going to make ice! What did UTG do with the part they "ordered?" Did they keep it? Did they install an old/used part knowing they'd be called back and ultimately would get paid to service my fridge twice? And guess what? Not more than 2 hours after the new tech left, my ice maker dropped its first batch of ice. All in all, very shady people. Dishonest and don't stand behind their work. Please run from UTG and explain to your warranty company that you do NOT want these guys touching your appliances. They will waste your time and then ignore you. read more

UTG is contracted with Home Warranty of America (HWA). We had a dishwasher issue (the detergent could not resolve) reported to WHA, who assigned UTG to fix it. The guys from UTG came to our house three times, trying to replace some bad parts, but could not fix it for 4 weeks. By the policy, WHA should replace it with a new machine, but they found an outrageous excuse which cause HWA to refuse to honor its warranty obligation. I am totally disappointed and dissatisfied with UTG and WHA. It seems that they work together to trick the customers to buy their services. read more

I was meant to have an appointment between 8 and 10 am today . No show . When I called the guy he says " let me tell you how this works" no apology or anything . I called 4 or 5 times and hit a machine before I finally got through . Does not return calls either . Apparently Home Depot never ordered the part on time . Our warranty with Summit was expired but we were given UTG's contact information. Our washer was not spinning. The technician was able to squeeze us in ASAP they diagnosed the unit and had parts in hand. We paid a total of 200 dollars and our unit was working perfectly. Will be our go to service. read more

I submitted a claim through my home warranty for our dishwasher and was assigned to this company. I called out of work for them to come to my house today between 11-3. I just got a phone call (around 12:30) saying that they are not coming. He said he called me yesterday but I didn't get ANY phone calls from this number to cancel my appointment today. I didn't have ANY voicemails requesting a cancellation. Poor business structure and no business integrity. If you are going to lie and say you called, at least leave a voicemail stating that you need to cancel. If I truly got a phone call and a voicemail, I would not have had a problem rescheduling our appointment. As a wife of someone who owns a small business and knows how things work, this is NOT acceptable. Communication is horrible from their company and needs improvement. read more

The owner of this company came to my home to fix my dishwasher he was very unprofessional and rude and disgusting. He left trash from out my dishwasher in my sink and told me it wasn't his job to clean it. He was paid for a job that he did not complete. read more

Our home warranty company assigned UTG Appliance and we were contacted same day to schedule the appointment for the following day. The technician arrived on time and fixed our dryer in the same trip. Unfortunately, I cannot read the name on the invoice but based on the technicians scribble on the invoice and other yelp reviews, I believe it was Eduard and he did a great job. The terribly loud squeak of our dryer was fixed and still silent 2 months later and running great. I recommend their services! read more

I called to have a service provided not to ask for something for free. If you care about costumer service DON'T DO business with this company. First impression was extremely bad. Eduard and his team provided exceptional service. I called them with an urgent situation -- my refrigerator had stopped cooling overnight and I was about to lose all the food inside. They managed to juggle their schedule in order show up within a few hours. When it turned out to be a dead compressor, they clearly laid out a number of different options with different costs. I chose to order a new compressor, and when it arrived on a Saturday, Eduard and his team came out Sunday morning to install it. Eduard even came back a few days later for no charge when I asked him to investigate a noise coming from the new compressor. Prices were reasonable and I would happily use UTG again. read more
