Can I just tell you how much I love their pastries?!?!? We tried them for my birthday a month ago and we've been back every weekend since. The lobster tails are fresh and the filling options, Oh the options available, could I just have them in a bottle? The first two times we got the custard, I've never had a good experience with the cannoli cream so I didn't even consider it an option. Utica Bakery thank you for showing me the error of my ways, I tried the cannoli cream and I'm a convert! It's light, creamy and with a hint of citrus. Finding good NY style pastries in NC is virtually impossible until now. Utica bakery is a small, family run business based out of what looks like a house (with a fountain) hidden away in Apex. They offer all your favorites: lobster tails, cannoli, cream puffs, black and white/ half moons, Italian cookies, crumb cake, bread, cheesecake and occasionally the elusive rainbow cookie. Recently they started offering tomato pie. Follow them on Facebook for giveaways where you can pick up a box of goodies. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Ordered som lobster tails they give you lots of filling i recomend getting filling on the side if your not going to eat them right away. The pastry was very crispy and tasted fresh. The filling took away some of the crispiness when they sat over night. A must try if you never had one read more

The only reason no pictures exist is because my family eats the food too quickly for me to actually capture a photo of it. We've had their bread, their creampuffs, their lobster tails, their cookies, their cheesecake... And everything is delicious. I was kind of confused and worried driving up because this place is a converted RV in a small plot of land. But I'm glad we stopped because the desserts were really good. We had an eclair and chocolate walnut bread (?). Both were really good, among the best I've had. Especially the eclair. Prices were reasonable for the portion size (in other words, not super cheap, but big sizes). Unfortunately for my taste buds, or fortunately for my stomach, they are only open Friday-Sunday. Honestly the best dessert I have had since moving from up North and they are the nicest people you will ever meet. The cannolis are delicious and when I was there last week I tried the raspberry bar and a bar called hello dolly, both were so good! Hey if you're looking for a great bakery that's got all the goodies you are missing from up North then this is the place for you!! Great Italian pastries from a professional chef sold from store that's part of their house. Right next to Rt 540 on Apex Barbecue. Open only Friday to Sunday unless we can convince them to expand. Black&White cookies (called moon pies), rainbow layer cookies in size of small cake and much more plus great breads. I'm old school Italian from NY and love this place since relocating about a year ago. Fugetaboutit!!! read more

Bought a cheesecake for my daughters birthday and it was fantastic. Everything looked delicious, we will definitely be going back.

We happen to drive by this morning and glad we did! The sausage and pepper rolls and pepperoni rolls knocked our brunch out of the ball park. Tried an almond apricot croissant and OH My Word, I am hooked. Loved their classic almond croissant but the added apricot is a nice treat. The team was so patient and friendly. It was hard to find. The sign is small and the place looks like a house. Actually, it probably is their house and business combo. Nevertheless, glad we found it. The owner is great. Everything is fresh and homemade. We bought pizza dough, pizza shell, cookies and an eclair. This is filled at the time of order. I'm from Rome NY, near Utica, so I was so happy to see this bakery open up in Apex. At the first location I went as soon as I could to get a cannoli and to see what they had. Was not disappointed! Super friendly folks as well. Now they have a food truck in Apex, even closer to my house! Went a couple weeks ago for some half moons, and let me tell you they were the best I've had.
