Always wanted to try African food and Yagg Sii Tenn delivered! We ordered the Ox tail Jolof and Lamb Jolof. Along with fufu and curry vegetables. Everything was delicious, hot, and had the appropriate amount of spice. Also tried the ginger tumeric juice and it was unbelievably delicious. Will be going here again.

Cute restaurant. A very cool and authentic-feeling vibe. The thought put into detail was much appreciated, from the wall art to the wooden African-shaped platters. Loved the artsy outdoor seating, made from recycled materials such as tires and barrels. Resonated with the art lover in me! The server was very nice and willing to talk us through our meal selection. My friend opted for the veggie platter (spicy collard greens, cabbage, seasoned green beans) and I ordered Fu Fu and egusi. Trying the new cuisine was very exciting, but both my friend and I agreed that we would do more research and order something different next time.

This is a restaurant that I will definitely go back to. The food was great .... The service was awesome .... The menu is very diverse which means I can go six seven times and still have other options to try .... I can't have that in other places. Highly recommended

This was my first time trying out African food. This place did not disappoint. They had different dishes from all over the continent. The plate that the food is served on is the shape of Africa and not only that the food tastes great. I tried the spicy wings and let me tell you they were spicy and good. The staff is nice and would guide you through the dishes they provide. Some of the tables and seats are custom made and beautiful design. This place did not disappoint and I will be heading back soon. I even complimented the chef since the food was so good.

A very clean and colorful corner space in a business park near Publix. All the tables are painted with African national flags and the plates are in the shape of Africa. The people who were there who I think were the owners were very friendly. I ordered the Ethiopian vegetarian platter. You have a choice of pick 3 or 5. I chose five because there are five options so that made it really simple. The vegetarian options come on the platter with Injera bread which was spongy and delicious. Everything on the plate was delicious. I like spicy food with some heat so the Goman, Spicy seasoned collard greens were my favorite. I also liked the curried vegetables and the seasoned green beans. Also, nicely seasoned was the spicy lentil purée and I enjoyed the chickpea purée. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu items. Some of their meat dishes sound intriguing. I'm sure all their dishes are as delicious as what I had. Look forward to trying this place again.

What a delightful gift to my tastebuds this experience was! I truly felt teleported to the region of Africa, with the smells, music, people, decor, friendly service, and exquisite homemade cuisine! Yagg Sii Tenn is nestled in the heart of Apex, a hidden gem for sure! I decided to detour today, and venture to the next building after a 90 minute massage and boy was I in for a treat! A must try for sure!!! Finally had FUFU (which was chefs kiss)!!! Can't wait to be back and explore more of this amazing culture and robust culinary vibes!

The menu had a large variety of food to try from all over Africa. I ordered the ginger lemonade and Mbuzi. The friendly owner let us try the drinks before we ordered to make sure we liked them before we purchased. The lamb curry was hot, fresh and delicious. Make sure to save some room for desert!! The mburu faas was soo yummy. The staff were so accommodating and sweet to my boys. They had fun playing the instruments near the register. We will definitely be back.

When I want authentic African food, I go here. I have gotten quite a few things from the menu. The wings are done to perfection with a nice spice to it. I've gotten chicken stew, a few lamb dishes, oxtails were very tender & tasty and The fish dish (cannot remember the names). I can say I've been satisfied with every meal and even the drinks that they make. The customer service is TOP-NOTCH no matter how much of rush they get. The lady that works the register is always so patient with me...almost every time I want something different & she helps figure it out. I'd recommend this cuisine to everyone!!!

This is not authentic Ethiopian food... sorry. From taste to presentation. Tearing up 1/4 of injera and rolling it up as if that enough for all the wot. Idk how the wot was made, but it does not taste like missir, tikil, or doro wot. Overall, this was not worth the order. The only positive is the amount of food given.. too bad it doesn't taste good /: I'm not sure how their other food tastes, but I do not recommend for Ethiopian dishes.

This food was absolutely amazing. Me and a few of my friends took a visit after seeing their segment on WRAL. The customer service was warm and welcoming and very helpful. And the inside was on the smaller side, but it was intimate nice and cozy. The food was absolutely amazing, we coincidentally ended up going during restaurant week so we got to try a bit of different things. I had the harira soup with lamb and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly if you're sick. My appetizer was the turkey fataya and it was delicious, i could eat 10 of them. For my entree i had the oxtail dibi platter, also amazing, the oxtail was on the fatter side but very delicious, the plantains and vegetables especially the yams were just so tasty and cooked perfectly, took me back to childhood when i would try to sneak plantains as my mother would make them. I ended with mburu fass for dessert, DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING IT!! Perfect dessert, it was light, sweet, warm, and crunchy yet moist. My friend tried the red snapper which he said was amazing, I tried a little bit and I can agree. We did wish it was a bit crisper tho but the sauce on top had a bit to do with that. My other friend tried the egusi soup with goat which was also very tasty, especially with the fufu. Honestly you cant go wrong here. I'll be back to try more and try the yassa. I LOVED that they had clear and real photos of their dish very nicely placed so people can see. This was so helpful as I brought my American friends who've never had African food before so they were able to really see what they were going to try.

The place and owners are amazing! There is such a strong inclusive culture displayed throughout the restaurant. Every country in Africa is unique and represented. There are many flags, chairs, and tables everywhere. The place is clean and inviting. I loved the sanitation station that held eating utensils, extra sauces, to go containers, napkins and the like. This restaurant is one of a kind! Because they literally make fresh juice in a variety of flavors. I learned that the cashews I love to eat are actually a very small part of a fruit that tastes even more delicious. For food, we ordered some really delicious items. We tried the suya (very spicy) , peri-peri wings (Very Spicy), and this meat pie with ground turkey that was absolutely delicious for appetizers. Our meal, I had a snapper filet with jollof rice and salad, my son order the meat pies in a sandwich with fresh coco bread, and my husband ordered lamb with jollof rice. The salad dressing was unbelievable! The perfect ratio of acidic ingredients and seasonings was present. The sauce on the fish was the perfect compliment! The lamb was cooked to perfection. It was tender and flavorful. The freshly made juices were quite impressive. As we were able to try so many for free. Which was a super nice touch. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried cashew juice and ginger punch. Annnnd baby....it was a 10/10. I highly recommend any of their juices.

I saw this establishment on the local news and until then, did not know they existed! Opted to try it for lunch on what might be a busy day, fortunately I arrived before the crowd. The owner was very kind to walk me through the menu and photos displayed. Before arriving, I was hungry for lamb, then looking over the menu and pictures of the fish (Red Snapper) I was thinking fish ---then asked fillet or whole fish....hmmm rethinking about leftovers switched back to the lamb shank, Mishwi and it was absolutely delicious! The menu has many gluten free options and I asked to refrain from plantain and avocado due to allergies and easy with response, "sure we will substitute" something else. Again, customer service very welcoming and patient for new customer. While waiting, the owner brought small samples of their homemade beverages and placed on tray in the order listed for me to try. I held off as long as possible---then had the first with Ginger very good. The food arrived so I tried to stay focused and more customers came in---first timers all very interactive. I had another bite and decided to give the 2nd tonic a try with Moringa ---another very good choice! So much for taking a container for leftovers----I finished my food. Then went to the register, where the owner came from the kitchen and I asked her how long the beverages are good and ordered 3 to go!!! She even had me sign up, again felt very welcomed and a fantastic experience! I brought my glass container for leftovers but sadly none---delicious and finished everything! The owner gave me a menu to come back and checked off what I had so I could try more options! Fortunately at this time, no desserts were listed GF except for Thiakry....and she tells me they could make the apple beignets GF, Achomo, dang!!!! OMG this was an amazing first experience and will return! Maybe today for takeout! Delicious!!! A wonderful experience of Africa and cuisine, thank you! Plus, enter the establishment AND use the exit door labeled please. *Update: Opted to go same day and take out for dinner.....fish after all it is Friday! Lovely establishment and owners are very sweet! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed! Pics of whole tilapia fish, plus desserts to go (no judgment). **UPDATE 2: 3 meals in two days- Spectacular experience each visit! Third visit was a line up - the owner and chef come from behind the "employees only" and first welcomes everyone and introductions of him and his wife the owners. He let the customers know that while the crowd arrived at the same time the first is made per order and to allow 35-40 minutes! Ordered food, set the timer, and found seating. Nearby a group of ladies and very welcoming and said it is a "community". Yes, definitely a warm feeling! A large group and the food was flowing from 35-40 minutes! Spot on, keep up the good work! Definitely worth the wait. This visit tried the Ethiopian tea after confirming a few items and it is decaf and delicious. In fact got a 2nd cup! Whole Red Snapper pardon eating with my fingers. Your menu still has many items that I want to sample and experience....no worries, will return! In one day 900 Yelp views could explain the "boom" in business!!!! UPDATE 3: All entrees that I have tried are all delicious, fantastic, and scrumptious even with accommodations for me --SPECTACULAR! I even shared a table with another patron and had a delightful conversation which she admitted it was a little while since she was back and impressed how the owner remembered her first name! Practically feel like family and strong community of support and interaction between guests.....lovely, truly a delightful experience each time! A welcoming feeling each visit, perhaps I should do a meal plan! See attached from Yelp

I ordered takeout from Elle Et Moi, which was chicken egusi, yam fufu, and jollof rice. It came as a combo. The egusi was delicious, absolute perfection. Slighly spicy and very generous with the chicken. I didn't know what to expect it to taste like, but it far exceeded my expections. The portion was generous. The jollof rice was very tasty. A bit of a kick and seasoned very well. I really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was the fufu. I wanted to like it, but the texture was off. It didn't pinch off and roll around in my fingers like I've seen, where I make the little indentation to scoop up the soup. It was kind of dry and crumbly. Maybe it was warmed for too long and overcooked or something. I'll try again next time, and maybe try the plaintain version next. I'll definitely be back and look forward to trying other dishes!

The best of the 3 by far was the Spinach. It was nice and flavorful and has zucchini in it. The Egussi was ok not as flavorful as I've had before. The GOAT was tender but had lots of small bones. The FuFu was not as smooth as I think it should be, the texture was off. The place was nice and clean and they have a POS system for you to place your order and pay and you can eat in as well. They also see items for you to cook some authentic foods at home. I will give them another try, maybe they had an off day. If so I will update my review for sure.

We didn't have a reservation but luckily managed to snag a table, probably because the Bulls weren't in town :) Our server did an OK job throughout the meal, although I think she could have been a little more present. She recommended that we order 4 small plates and 1 large plate (for 2 people) but that sounded like a lot of food to us, so we decided to start with 2 small plates and 1 large plate. My wife and I split the corn ribs, the cauliflower, and the red snapper. The food arrived as it was prepared, which was totally fine with us. The corn ribs came first, and they were delicious! They were probably my favorite part of the meal. Next came the cauliflower, which was in a curry sauce, and it was also very tasty. Finally, the red snapper arrived and it was surprisingly maybe my least favorite dish. It wasn't bad or anything, but the flavors were a little more muted compared to the other two dishes. The potato (?) puree served with it was good, though! It was a little pricey but that's kind of expected with tapas-style food I guess. We were full after our 2 small plates and 1 large plate, so I would definitely caution people against ordering more unless you have a big appetite. Overall, it was a fun experience and I would definitely come back here.

I'm use to African food having spice, kick and full of flavor. The jallof rice was bland dry and hard. Found myself rubbing the meet on the skin to try and get some flavor to no avail. My wife had the tofu. She didn't even bother to bring it back home and ate half a piece of one. There's no hot sauce. No seasoning on the tables. The collard greens are on. We got a sample but because the restaurant had no hot sauce we opted out of them but that was a mistake because the cabbage was hard and bland as well. The food seems to be catered for people with bland pallets. I wasn't impressed. The "bill" came which is just the waiter with a screen never showed what I purchased or a breakdown so I have no idea why I paid $60 for this with a discount. If you're planning to eat there, just know the food isn't fast--it's made fresh to order, so expect a little wait, but it's worth it for hot, quality meals. I've tried the jollof rice as well--I'd give it about a 7/10. It's solid, especially with chicken, and I recommend asking for a little extra red sauce or gravy to take it up a notch. Stopped in for a weekday lunch and the person behind the counter was really nice. The place was clean and bright with an open air feel to it. I ordered an Egusi with Chicken and Fufu. Let's go through what all this is, but first why the 3.5 rating...the chicken. This is supposed to be fall off the bone that is fresh and stewed in the sauces. Great flavor for sure, but it was very tough. The plastic knife given had trouble cutting it. You want to think fall off the bone meat, this wasn't it. Not sure if I came in on a bad rotation where they reheated chicken from earlier or the night before, but it did not taste fresh as you'd expect. Ok now to the good stuff... Egusi: this is the main flavor, listed as a soup on the menu but more like a stew instead. It's nutty and hearty with 5 star flavor and spices. This thing rocked! Fufu: this as a mild and soft starch that goes with it all. Almost like a softer consistency gnocchi or some other potato/noodle combo. Not much to it by itself honestly, but man, what a great flavor bomb when you take a piece of it and dunk it in that amazing egusi. Maybe on a day with fresh and tender chicken, the trifecta would be complete: soft and chewy fufu + rich and nutty egusi + fall off the bone tender chicken. Unfortunately today the 3rd piece was missing.
