I have been a member of Utopia for years, and each experience is better than the previous. The girls at the front desk are always so sweet to me, most who have learned my name and make me feel very welcome when I come in, and never have any issues. Any question i may have about mixing up my tanning routine or have limited time they are always so helpful and knowledgeable on what bed to use for each day. On the other hand when choosing new lotions they don't just throw the most expensive at me, yet explain the pros and cons of each one and why some are more expensive than others. In addition the bathrooms are always well kept with candles and soap. I love coming here and feeling bubbly walking in and tan walking out always with a "have a good day" of some sort from all the front desk ladies. I have also convinced my mom to start coming here for spray tans and she loves it and says the women are so helpful in teaching her step by step what to do. Overall this is my favorite tanning salon ever and I plan to go forever. read more

Came here to get a facial a while ago the girl who did it was very sweet and the facial was relaxing. So why give this place 2 stars?? Well it's hard to be relaxed when the "spa room" is right next to the mystic machine, which is very loud when in use and as this being a "TANNING salon" it's in use ALL DAY!!! And when the mystic machine isn't going off there is screaming baby's.When I get out of my facial the women who owns the baby turns out to be the owner!! Not once did she take the kid outside to be thoughtful for the people getting a service instead she just laughs it off saying how grumpy the baby was, that to me was totally unprofessional to say the least, sadly the facialist tip went down because of the business' loud atmosphere! Tip to the owner ditch the "spa" side of the business if you can't keep it quiet! read more

I was not a big tanner and didn't know where the good places to tan were. I didn't want to tan at a place that was dirty! I had heard that Utopia was the best place in town from a friend so I went to check it out. I absolutely love it there! It is so clean and all of the employees are super nice. I had never done mystic before and was really nervous to do it because you always here about people turning orange. I did the mystic at Utopia and it was amazing! it was perfectly even and gave me such a natural looking tan! I am so glad that I have finally found a place that is CLEAN, NICE, and know i am going to get the best results!! Plus they always have great specials every month that you can't beat! I don't know what some of the people below are talking about. Utopia is a fabulous place, one of the nicer, fancier and cleaner tanning salons I've experienced. They have top of the line equipment and all brand new beds. Being 6'7 the stand up bed is the only one I can fit in and I love it. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the beds and place is clean and vibrant and I love coming here. The incredible thing is that they are much more then just a tanning salon. They offer massage, facials, waxing, hair extensions and much more. Not to mention an incredible collagen red light therapy that can't be found anywhere else. I love Utopia tanning. It is by far the cleanest, most organized and friendliest place to tan, mystic, or get a facial. My 1st visit was over 2 years ago, and I have yet to have a bad experience there or felt the need to complain about any aspect of the business. The girls at the front office do a wonderful job answering questions about the different packages that are available, which lotions are best suited to my skin tone, and how many visits are typically needed for the desired color I'm looking to achieve. Utopia is by far the BEST tanning salon and also the best spa in the bay area. Before I went to Utopia I went to GLO and I looked orange and streaky, their mystic was horrible but Utopia's is awesome! I always have a perfect tan from the mystic and I am never disappointed. The owner and all the workers there are by far the nicest and most accommodating! I usually buy a monthly student package, which is really affordable and although sometimes it can get a little backed up and there can be a wait, I'm pretty happy with this place and extra points for being close to my house. It can be annoying that the front desk can sometimes be a little unorganized and the girls working there are some times no where to be found or too busy texting/talking on there phones, but I guess you get what you pay for, right? Not a bad place to get and keep up an affordable tan. Haven't tried the other services they offer here. read more

I've been to many MANY other tanning salons but this place sticks out. The girls there are all really friendly and they treat you like you are there number 1 customer. This place is the cleanest and they have the best beds ever. They also do hair extensions and skin care its your one stop place for everything. They have the best wax!! only hard wax for me which is great and nearly painless. Other waxing experiences were ok (i've been doing it for years) but at Utopia i just felt so much more comfortable and relaxed.. Five Stars all the way! read more

My boyfriend and I wanted to build a little base before we went to Hawaii on vacation (nothing like a sunburn to ruin a vacation) so we decided to do a little fakin bacon before we went...this place is awesome! The bed was new super clean high powered had grey fans adjustable face all the bells and whistles plus the staff was super friendly and helpful. Love the mystic spray tan, the only downside...it is always broken!!! I was pleasantly surprised when an employee (I believe her name is Abbie) personally gave me a call to inform me that the mystic booth was working again after I came in earlier this morning while it was still broken. Very great customer service and one of the kindest staff members, it was so sweet of her to remember me. I LOVE Utopia! Its a wonderful place to tan and get a mystic!! All of their beds are top of the line and their mystic is AMAZING! All the employees are very sweet and helpful too. Great tanning bed options and pricing packages. And they change their tanning bed bulbs all the time, which you don't see very much. Best of all, the staff is fantastic. I went in trying to find the best deal for my schedule and not only did the front desk show me options, but also brought out a calculator to show me how much money I'd be saving going with one package versus another. I have been coming to utopia for about 3 years now for tanning! They have an amazing selection of lotions, beds, and the best mystic tan ever!!! They use an individual cartridge compared to other salons that have the solution in a huge bucket! There's no streakiness and you won't look orange I absolutely love it!!! read more
