I was not aware that this quaint and fabulous space existed. My friend suggested we go here for a girls night out and I loved every second of it. The place is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Has multiple tables and sofa areas. A huge list of wines by the glass, flights, or bottles. The food menu has a good amount of shareable and main dishes. And the service was simply excellent. I believe our server's name was Christopher (or Christian yikes me and names) and he did an amazing job. From the beginning he was super welcoming and helpful. The food was really good. We shared the baked Brie, the Margherita flat bread, and one of the salads. To drink we had the red wine flights and they were delicious specially after having bites of food. Meh. It's a place you really want to like but they made it so difficult, and I ended up with disappointment. Pros with cons: Decent patio view of the front range if you can overlook the parking lot scape, growling Harleys, neon Arby's sign, and ugly Drake hotel barging in to your sight line and ruining your vibe. Interior has a calmer ambiance but is quite tight. Menu selections are good but it's as though no one taught the chef how to prepare the good selections. Lacking freshness and flavor, our flatbread was a dud. Brussels sprouts were swimming in their syrupy-sweet sauce, relegating them to one big squish blob. Frankly, the Brussels at SmashBurger are better and that's just embarrassing. The arti-crab dip was strangely overly-fishy, making me wonder if they had secretly subbed trout for the crab - either that or we were going to have a long night dealing with food poisoning (we didn't). A true crab dip is going to have zero hints of fishiness. Calamari was passable. Sangria was nice but I was surprised, for a wine bar, like you have one job to make awesome wine drinks, that it was not traditionally garnished with all the fruits. ‍ Husband enjoyed his wine flights with the exception of the soap bubbles in the glasses. I came here for a Yelp event and ended up staying and eating because the place looked really nice. I ordered a few tacos and my wife had a wine sampler and ceviche. They have a massive wine menu. The waitress did a great job explaining what the wine options are and the food menu. We really enjoyed dining here. We've been back to Uva now two times since our first visit. Second time the calamari did not match up. This time we got bruschetta to share. We were surprised the bread wasn't toasted but the tomato/mozzarella blend was okay. Fresh basil would have been a good addition. One person's meal (tacos) came out the same time as the bruschetta. Flatbread pizza next, 1 Cubano next, then the soup and the other Cubano. All were served quickly but it would have been better if the soup was served first and then the other meals. Plus 2 cups of soup were ordered and we got one cup and one bowl. Whatever the drizzle was on the pizza was weird. Tasted like lime? Or something spoiled. Dropped in real quick for a Yelp event. Admittedly I couldn't stay and that had me weak in the knees! The business is tucked in up north in a quite busy shopping center but it's easy to navigate your way in! The signage is simplistic and easy to see from the road. Also super helpful! I walked in and checked in and got the perk all while attempting not to stare at what everyone was noshing on. It looked delicious, plus all the wine everywhere was absolutely tempting. The owner was absolutely wonderful and just so sweet! Oh the hostess as well was super friendly. It has to say something about the work environment. Curse these children of mine and their sports! Lol. I did just get home and try the bottle of Angelo Cellars wine and mmmmmm! It was paired with some chicken and wild rice I made. Let me tell you it was absolutely perfect! 3.5 stars. We booked a reservation for Day 1 of restaurant week because they're on the list of restaurants participating. When we were seated and I asked about the restaurant week menu, they said they weren't doing anything this week, and maybe would plan something for the next weekend. Bummer! So call and ask if you're going to come here for restaurant week. Obviously a lot of choices for wines primarily from the US, France, and Italy. Their house special flights are all reds so I stayed away from those. They have usual house flights, 3 of which are whites and the others are all reds. We chose the Patio Pounders (Reisling, Vinho verde and a Pinot Noir Rose), Great Whites (Souvignon blanc and 2 Chardonnays I think or maybe the other way round) and one of the reds flight that I don't remember the name of now. I liked my Patio Pounders flight. The Rose didn't taste too red and actually was a little on the sweeter side so I did not hate it (my usual reaction to reds/roses). The Vinho verde was a little mild and smooth which I really like. The Reisling was delicious!! Considering the Reisling is my go to white wine, loved this particular glass! My friends enjoyed their flights too but I didn't taste those myself to be able to comment. The food: we were told they have a late shipment so many of the things were not available. We got the burrata, ceviche and the fig and prosciutto flatbread board. The burrata was very nice. The nachos with the ceviche were good but the ceviche itself was just ok. My friend, who is from Miami, was not very impressed. The flat bread was very very good and we recommend that for sure! Pricey place. We each paid about $30 bucks for this whole menu. They also said that reservations are for 90 mins blocks. So you may be asked to leave after then. We finished dot on time, so I can't say that happened to us. read more

Totally fun place! We met up with another couple for some delicious wine. I had never heard of this place before and learned that they recently opened. I called ahead because I saw that you could make reservations and boy was that a good idea! We walked in at 6 and the place was packed but we were seated immediately. They offer wine flights which I love when I go to a place with a ton of wines I have never tried before. I find that it helps you decide what you'd like a full glass of if any. The Rose all Day flight was bright and fresh! The food, wow!! The plates are prepared methodically and perfect portions. The burrata with the lava salt was a huge hit! To start off I want to say how excited my family and I were to try this place. We'd seen the good reviews, thought the vibe was cool, and really loved the idea of bringing our dog. Here's everything that went wrong: 1) We get seated and get two glasses. Not water or anything, just two glasses. There's four of us. 2) It takes us about 20 minutes before we even get our water, and when we do one of the cups is dirty. 3) The waitress takes forever to even get our drink order, she spent her time cleaning tables while never coming to greet us. 4) We put our drink order in, and the table that came in after us got their drinks before us. 5) Took forever to get an order of fries. Fries. 6) When we got the fries, there was a hair in them. Great. Yum. I do not think I'll ever come back, the drinks were meh, I can't remember the taste of the fries because all I can think of is the hair, and the service was horrible. read more

The Google pin was quite confusing, since it put it on the sidewalk of Interquest Parkway. It was dark and I still can't tell you where Uva Wine Bar is located, but it was on the right end of the building, so it's not in a stand alone building. I think it's West of Whattaburger. We had almost given up when, by weird kismet, we found it! By the time we arrived, it was a few minutes until last call, but happily we were able to get a lovely flight of wines and a panini from the kitchen. Our server, Jordan, was very nice. We really would have appreciated a wee bit of background on the wines but everyone was working hard with no time to pause. Appetizers we ordered were good, especially the dates with goat cheese. We are living here part time, and live within walking distance of UVA. We walked over today for cocktails and the charcuterie board. The hostess was so nice, and our server Christian was wonderful! What a great place! We have been meaning to get here for a bit. Of course Covid got in the way. We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation but they were able to seat us right away. We ended up at seats at the bar (which is generally our preference). For a beverage starter I went for a spritz. On the menu They had a limoncello spritz I asked and they were able to make me a standard spritz. Tasty and a perfect starter drink. They have a good sized and varied wine list. For me they had Attimo wines. These people Piemonte wines that are finished at Attimo in Denver (If you're up in Denver check them out). Anyway that was good for me I drink Italian wines so I stayed with theirs. There are lots of good things on the menu from a charcuterie board to soup and Panini. We had cheese fondue it came with bread apples broccoli and carrots it was great we gobbled up every last drop of the fondue. We were still hungry and decided on the flatbread. Wow is this is surprise it was delicious. My experience is that many flatbreads are just OK a crust with toppings. This is not the case at Uva. The crust was flavorful nicely Crist tender on the inside and the toppings were great this is probably one of the best flatbreads I've ever had. Very impressed! So our visit to Uva was great, it exceeded my expectations I can't wait to go back again you should plan on a visit.
