So we did go to use that (although or waitress didn't read it I don't think because she only gave us one free glass of wine when it said per person). But that's not a problem! We were grateful nonetheless! So yes, we did go to happy hour. This board was really nice, but they never said what each item on the board was. So I have no clue what the meats and cheeses are. For a place that says they are known for boards, you'd think they'd share what is on our board. I think the value is alright for what you get! But I would say that there are other places around (Cork and Cask) that have a better value for your buck! This is still a gorgeous presentation and it's a good chill vibe at this spot. The wine was good. But I don't know if I'd come back unless I had another coupon I fear.... And the service was not great even though the place wasn't super packed. The bread and butter we ordered to nosh on before the mains was so good. The bread was warm, the butter was whipped and so delicious. We also got mains, I got short ribs with polenta. I believe she got a bolognese. The mains were also really good, but I could sit there sipping on wine and eating their bread all night and be so happy to do it. I can't comment on the food or service or ambiance because when I tried to patronize this establishment on a Friday night in April they were closed for a private party. There was a sign in the door to this effect but nothing on their website. So after paying for parking and walking to the restaurant I had to pick up stakes and go elsewhere. This is not the first time this has happened to me in this burgh. I don't know why a sign on the door after one has already driven there is considered adequate notice. The ambiance was incredible, low lighting with a fire pit and piano bar music. It is a small place, so we made reservations, but it wasn't packed at all. We were seated at a high top by the bar, but they also have bar seating and other couch seatings. Very cozy environment. The food was excellent! We ordered the frutti de mare and the new york strip with steak frites as our entrees. The baked brie was so good as an appetizer, we also ordered it for dessert. It was the perfect spot to end our vacation. It was a bit pricey, we ended up paying $80 just on drinks, but everything was absolutely worth it. I was kinda sad looking at how small the board was. It looked nothing like the pics on their website. I suggest the restaurant create a few curated charcuterie boards for guests to order in addition to building custom boards. And please make them bigger and more exciting. With regards to the small plates, I was confused by their sizes, portions and how they pair with the wines. Yes, I'm complaining about the small plates that weren't small. The wild mushroom tagliatelle was good and the pasta seemed fresh perhaps made in house but the portion was big for a "small plate". (Server also didn't bring us flatware and we ate the pasta with an oyster fork.) The toast could have been cut thinner and smaller so it was more bite sized and easier to share with friends. The tuna tartare was served without anything to eat it with. They need to add rice crackers or fancy wonton chips with the tuna tartare. This place is okay. Other than a sub-par experience, nothing about my visit makes me want to come back. The place needs to hire/train their staff to be more knowledgeable about their wines, consult with someone to create a better menu with wines and food that pair well, and get some real cloth napkins. What a treat this place is, hands down one of my favorite spots in Colorado Springs. The staff is so helpful and very polite. There is complimentary valet parking so you don't have to worry about the crowded parking on the street. The atmosphere inside and the menu selection is fantastic.
