But then we moved and I decided to give another "highly reviewed" dentist a try. Yes, the lobby/waiting area was a little fancier with nicer furniture and the dentists (a husband and wife team) had impressive pedigrees, but the appeal stopped the moment I sat down in the chair for an examination. I felt like a stranger and that I was distracting them from more important business. They talked with the hygienist behind my back (literally) as I could not see what they were looking at and I walked away feeling a lack of confidence in their ability to match the service I was used to. Buford Family Dental is transparent and takes time to both show on screen and explain in layman's terms, any dental concerns as well as recommended course of action to remedy the concern. All this is to say that I am back at Buford Family Dental. The confidence I have in both Dr Patel and Dr Kim as well as their staff is worth the drive for the service provided Buford Family Dental. Today I had a root canal on one tooth and a tooth extraction and bone graph (prep for a crown) on another tooth. 4 hours later, with the novocaine worn off, I sit with no pain and satisfied with a procedure done as well as any Endodontists or oral surgeon could have performed. I highly recommend Buford Family Dental for my family and friends.

I went to this office at or about December 2024 with persistent pain in an upper left tooth and specifically raised concern that I believed it might be cracked. I was told it was only inflammation from clenching and pressure from a missing tooth. Based on that diagnosis, I was two expensive devices - a custom-made night guard and a flexible partial denture and told this would resolve the problem over time. For months I followed all instructions exactly as given. The pain never fully resolved. The partial was not made correct, there was a large gap between the device and roof of my mouth; it never fit properly and caused food impaction, speech problems, and embarrassment from shifting and drooling. I repeatedly reported these issues and was told it only needed to "break in." When I later requested X-rays to take to a specialist because the pain continued, I was informed my dental membership plan had been canceled without my knowledge or consent. I was then denied access to my imaging and refused pain treatment. At that same visit, to replace the defective partial, I was pressured to switch to a cheaper metal partial even though Dr. Jeoung talked me into buying the more expensive plastic partial because it was, "better". I ultimately went to another dentist who found a severe vertical crack through the root of the tooth. The tooth was not salvageable and had to be extracted. I was told it could have been saved if treated earlier. After this, the Dr. Jeoung acknowledged in writing that "things did not go as planned" and offered to reimburse me, but only if I signed a full legal release. As of this writing, I have not been able to use either expensive device.

Let's start by saying that I usually only write reviews when I'm passionate about something or an…read moreexperience has affected me in such a way where I need to schedule some time during the day to express myself. Today was my first time visiting the Mall of Georgia Dentistry office. And I'm almost a little hesitant about writing this review because I selfishly don't want more people to find my new forever dentist's office, haha, but they certainly deserve a positive review for the great experience they provided me today. Let me begin with the staff that worked with me today. Ashley (Dental Assistant), Dr. Whyte (Dentist), and Abby (Dental Hygienist) was the best dental team I've ever had the pleasure of being a patient of in my 30+ years of being alive on this planet. The only thing that can surpass their dental care is their wonderful, kind, and fun personalities. From the moment I got into their office, I felt that I was a priority for them. Ashley guided me to my chair, asked me about my dental history, laughed about different things, etc. Then Dr. Whyte came to review my teeth and raved about my fabulously maintained teeth and gums (I'll explain why this is important in a bit), and she provided knowledge about dental care that I wasn't aware of already. Then to complete the service, Abby cleaned my teeth ever so gently while providing great conversation. Both Dr. Whyte and Abby recommended that I don't change anything about my dental routine at home because my dental health was one the best they've seen. They scheduled my next appointment and gave me a goodies bag to take home. Now let me tell you about why this experience was something I had to write about. I just recently moved to the Mall of Georgia area. I was coming from another dentistry practice that I could've continued to use because they have another office nearby my new home. However, the experience I had there the last few times I visited was SO unpleasant that I had to find a new dentist. First, I mentioned that my teeth were confirmed to be healthy and I knew this was the case because I religiously take care of them. But at the previous dentist, they told me that my teeth were in such poor health that I needed to visit the dentist four times a year versus just the two. I knew something was off about this and later found out from other reviews left online that this practice told others the same thing to make more money. Second, the last time I visited this other dental office, the hygenist was SO bad at her job that my gums were bleeding and my entire mouth ached. She replaced a previous hygenist, who was the only positive thing about that practice. She left the organization probably because of their shady practices. Anyway, this isn't about the previous dental office, but I felt I had to mention them to portray the 180-degree difference in care that the Mall of Georgia Dentistry provided me today. So in conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend the Mall of Georgia Dentistry. I almost wish I needed to visit them four times a year versus just the two because I had such a good time.

My husband had an AMAZING experience!!…read more See his comments below: Short answer: On a scale 1 to 10 the finished product was a 14! Dr. Murray is the BEST dentist I've ever seen! Long answer: In any legitimate trade there are 3 levels of performance - professionals, experts, and masters. Dr. Murray is definitely a master at her craft and the best dentist I've encountered in 30 years and 7 states. Let's put it this way, when it comes to cosmetic dentistry, I would fly across the country to have her do the work because... 1. It's your face. 2. It needs to be the best the first time, so I'd rather be inconvenienced one time then going back to mend a professional's work. The tooth is the front left incisor so it's front and center every time you talk. I chipped it when I was 20 and the work was very good, however by the time I was 45 I chipped it again and I went through two other dentists who are professionals but they just couldn't get Humpty Dumpty back together. It kept chipping and the frustration kept growing until Dr. Murray stepped in. The fit-and-finish is perfect, you can't tell AT ALL, and the best part is she made it twice as thick and virtually bulletproof. I'm extremely confident to bite down and I can't say enough. In your mind you have the job you want done but you know it probably won't happen because you shoot extra high....and she hit that summit and surpassed it! The reason I labor the long answer is because that's what I like to read when I'm researching. Telling me that somebody did a "super job" isn't enough. And excellence should always get the notoriety it deserves.

If you have healthy teeth and gums, don't go here, because they won't be healthy when you leave…read more I came to this office a few years ago because they accepted my insurance. I had flawless oral health my whole life. No cavities, no gum disease, no bleeding. Countless dentists and hygienists across different reputable offices had always said the same: your teeth and gums are perfect, keep doing what you're doing. At one point, I followed a trusted hygienist across multiple practices, and every one of her cleanings was reviewed and signed off by dentists. Not once was there ever a concern. Then I came here. And everything changed. They insisted I needed a deep cleaning. I asked for a standard one, like I'd had my entire life. They said no. ***They refused to touch my teeth unless I agreed to the deep cleaning.*** There was no real conversation, no concern for my dental history -just pressure to sign. Feeling trapped, I went along with it. That was the last time my gums were healthy. The hygienist was clearly rushed. She barely spoke to me, blasted through the cleaning like she had a deadline to meet, and left the room immediately after she finished. No dentist ever came in to check her work. And my mouth? Pouring blood. I've never bled during a cleaning in my life--this was profuse bleeding, a foul taste, and a bad smell coming from my gums as soon as I left. I knew something was off. And I was right. From that day forward, I've had constant gum bleeding, sensitivity, and odor after flossing. Years later, it's still not back to normal. All of this started after that one "deep cleaning". Later, I told my longtime hygienist what happened. Her response? "You got conned." That's when I found out she had actually worked at this very office, and quit. Why? Because hygienists were being paid on commission and were pressured to upsell deep cleanings, even when they weren't necessary. She said it went against her ethical standards, and I believe her. I'm now living with the consequences. And the billing? Don't even get me started. They gave me a quote ahead of time. But once I was in the chair, ready for my cleaning, they shoved paperwork and a pen in my face. I noticed the price had doubled. When I asked why, they said the original quote was "for half the mouth." Half the mouth?? Are we doing dental work or buying tile? Here's what people don't realize: when done improperly or unnecessarily, a deep cleaning can permanently damage your gums. It can strip healthy tissue, cause recession, and throw off your entire oral environment. And that's exactly what happened to me. This office isn't about care. It's about speed, sales, and quotas. They rush you in, push what makes them money, and leave you worse off than when you came in. A dental hygienist mill. If your mouth is healthy, protect it and stay away. If you need real care, find a place that doesn't operate like a sales floor. This isn't dentistry. It's damage with a price tag. The front office clerks were loud and rude, rolling eyes, slamming hands on the desks, and yelling inpatiently when interacting with clients.

I declined their treatment plan and left. I then saw another dentist who confirmed that I did not have gum disease, did not need a crown, and that a standard cleaning was appropriate. Imagix submitted a claim to my insurance company for the visit and the x-rays they took. The claim was paid in accordance with IN NETWORK rates. However, the dental office is now claiming I still owe a balance and has been pressuring me to pay. So now I HAVE A BALANCE FOR PREVENTIVE CARE IN NETWORK AFTER INSURANCE PAYMENT. This place will sell you treatments you don't need and overcharge you for services you receive. I am not sure if it is legal for them to add this to their paperwork - "I further understand that I am responsible for ANY amounts not paid by my insurance for ANY reason".

They took photos of my teeth and showed them to me on a large monitor to point out where I had tooth decay. Since there were so many "cavities" they divided the work into two appointments. The first appointment was very uncomfortable, the dentist seemed rushed and didn't want me to swallow as often as I needed to. I was sick with a sinus infection and tried to cancel the 2nd appointment on the Friday before a Tuesday appointment over a holiday weekend. They were very aggressive about wanting to charge me for the appointment. I decided to get a second opinion and actually got two other dentists to look at the photos and x-rays and they both said the so-called cavities were only stains and natural wear on the teeth and did not need treatment. Sadly, I had already paid for over $2K in unneeded and uncomfortable dental work.
