Worst experience at a bar ever! My name is Chris and me and a few (5) old friends of mine linked up for the first time in about five years and went to the V Room on Saturday night after the Mayweather/Mcgregor fight...... Buddies were getting their drink on but I was pretty much there designated everything. So I sat down with one of my friends across from a pool table and automatically I got a bad vibe from a female bartender who's name is apparently Mel or Melanie (according to her fellow bartenders) She was very snappy and clearly didn't like me at all, though I didn't do anything to provoke her. I HAD JUST SAT DOWN. I asked for a menu and decided to get something called ''Dog ate my homework''... but she was so rude and when I took out my debit card to pay she got even worse because they only take cash there but I didn't know that. I'm not a local and didn't see the sign. But I stayed respectful. It was so crowded in there and I know her job can be tough and I respect what she does and what she sometimes puts up with. I was in a good mood and plus- I thought she was kind of cute.... so..... I really had nothing against her- yet at the money machine I asked my buddy if he noticed her attitude. He said he did but ''just don't let it get to you.'' We went back and I simply asked Mel if she had change because all I had was a twenty dollar bill but she totally snapped at me! She said: ''You didn't give me any money! How can I give you change if you haven't given me your cash!'' I was like ''well that's why i'm asking you''............................People next to me were laughing but I didn't find her amusing at all. She took my cash, got change and when she came back she had a little bit more to say. She said:''What's up with your attitude?'' I was so puzzled! My buddy was confused too! I didn't curse, I didn't yell, I didn't get hostile or make a seen of any kind! So I found it necessary to finally express myself. I told her: ''YOU'VE had an attitude with ME from the moment I sat down. You judged me as someone you didn't like before I even opened my mouth and said hi to you. What's wrong with you? Why are you messing with me but no one else?'' She said: ''I'm done with you. Give me your change.'' She took it to the register and gave me my twenty dollar bill back. She said she wasn't dealing with me anymore. My buddy said ''dude its not you man its her. Just try to ignore her. Don't let it get to you.'' So I go to another bartender and wait for her on the other side of the bar and she (Melanie) follows me! She literally follows me! She said ''what do you want?'' I said ''i'm just waiting for the other bartender okay. Please.'' She said ''no! Get out!'' She put her hand up in the air, snapped her finger and called a Hispanic security guard to throw me out! I couldn't believe it! I escorted myself out but I told security that I didn't mean any harm at all! He was cool. He actually went inside to inform my friends. After all I was kicked out in a Long Beach neighborhood that I wasn't even familiar with at all with a cell phone that was dying! I was mad because all I wanted was to hang out. My buddies were mad because she kicked out their only driver while they were in the middle of a pool game. My friends felt she was racist and that's why she singled me out like that. I don't think she is. I think she just didn't like me. My friends tried to reason with her but she ignored them so they paid their tab and we left. V Room lost six costumers in a little over 15 minutes. And for what? I tried contacting Candice (Owner) twice a day everyday since the incident but I hear she's really busy. That's why this page is so long because this is pretty much everything I was going to tell her. All I wanted was a beer you know. I won't be going back to the V Room. But hey! The Red Room (right across the street) was awesome! read more

My best friend Andrew just left the war in Ukraine and we wanted to get away for a minute and just relax. The security guard at the front door was incredibly rude to him and discriminated him really bad. English is not my friends first language and the security guard assumed that because he didn't speak good english he must have been "drunk". I explained to him that he was from the Ukraine, but he just had some sort of bias. His words exactly were "why don't you just go to some other bars, I'm sure you'll have more fun". V ROOM in this day and age this is unbelievably unprofessional and unacceptable. The security guard didn't even bother to look at my friends I.D. my friend told the security guard about how he left his family in Ukraine, had no possessions, surviced the war, and just needed to sit down his words to us were "noty problem I got bills to pay." read more

It used to be cool.... Now it's a joke. Bartenders & owners are rude.... Stuck up and talk shit about the customers they don't know. So if you're not a "bar star"... you'll have a hard time getting an overpriced drink. Cockroaches and rats and all the GOSSIP you can handle!!! Some dude took pictures of a couple having sex for hours right in front of the bar , outside on a table ( look for pics on others bad reviews).... Joe would be turning in his grave. What a shame. I've been to this great dive bar so many times that I cannot believe I failed to review it until now. Probably I was too hungover to remember. HA! HA! Cheap drinks and very hip folks. A real bar...the only reason I give it 4 stars is the fights...you are bound to witness at least one brawl when you are here for an evening (which really isn't my idea of a good time)...well, unless you are too drunk to care which happens very easily at the V Room! read more

This is the last stop on the fourth street strip. Its usually never crowded, nor expensive. They have bartenders that will serve you in no time. The people who go there are dicks, but its not that bad. Moderately priced drink specials. Overall a nice last stop to the fourth street strip. read more

I would not consider the V Room a dive bar, it is more of a place where hipsters go to hang out with their friends. When I was a kid I always wanted to go to this place since it was down the street from where I lived and when I finally did, I was not impressed. read more

The bartenders always seem to treat you depending on how their day is going. There's days that they are nice and laid back other times they are right down assholes and treat you as if your getting the drinks for free plus a blowy. read more

Love it. Not many chill spots after working a night shift and wanting a beer at 7am. The bartenders and locals make this place awesome.
