Stopped in here after the first night of Warped Tour and left pretty disappointed with the service, even though the food itself was solid. The location is great -- right in downtown, easy to find. The space is huge, with a downstairs, an upstairs, and a full restaurant on the opposite side from the bar area where we sat. Cool setup overall. The service is where it fell apart. We walked in and told the hostess there were two of us; she just said "sit anywhere" without showing us to a table or explaining how things worked. We sat in a booth for a while -- no menus, no server, nothing. My friend was very drunk and badly needed water, so eventually I went up to the bar myself to ask how it worked. Turns out you order everything at the bar -- but nobody tells you that up front. I had to go up three separate times: once to figure out the system and get waters, once to place our food order, and again later just to get a water refill. That last refill was the most frustrating part. The bartender who'd helped us earlier saw me standing at the end of the bar and just walked away. I waited and waited, didn't want to be that person yelling over other customers, and eventually another bartender helped me out. It really wasn't busy that night either, especially for a night with a whole festival happening nearby, so there wasn't a good excuse for it. On the plus side: my hamburger was genuinely really good, and the whole meal for two came out to about $30 -- the cheapest we ate the entire trip. My friend got a tomato pesto cheese sandwich, though he was too far gone to give me a real opinion on it. Food gets a thumbs up, but the lack of any real table service and being ignored at the bar soured the whole experience. Probably won't be back unless I hear the service has improved. read more

At the time of visit...Number one, no matter where you sit at in this bar, you will not get any service! I sat down close to 30 mins waiting for a waiter or waitress to come and take our order. Come to find out, you must order from the bar. It would of been nice if signs were posted up front before coming in. Who staffs their establishment like this on race day? I have never been here before but once I saw the storefront it actually brought back a lot of memories. It was a former boutique gift store many years ago. I remember interning here during high school. And now it's a bar. We wanted to stop by for happy hour just for a beer. There's a lot of places downtown but this seemed quite chill. There's a couple of outdoor seating. Inside its a long bar area which the bar is on the left. A good amount of television whenever there's sports on. They serve food as well which we didn't try but did see how good the chicken wings looked. Service was good. The bartender that took care of us was very friendly and chatty. He was finishing his shift and another guy took over. He brought him over to introduce him to us. Good service is a plus. Happy hour items on drinks were a few dollars off I believe. We've visited Shannon's a few times for boxing matches and football games in the past. So while in the area, my friend suggested we stop by to grab some grub and watch the Clipper game. Upon entering, the place was pretty empty, with only a few people dressed up in costumes, singing, and eating (they actually greeted us before the waitress lol). Anyway we grabbed our own table by the TVs to check out the game. Despite the lack of really any humans, we stayed because my friend was only there for one thing, while I on the other hand wanted some sort of action or vibes in the place but whatever. The bartender was friendly and welcoming, which was a surprise given some negative reviews about rude staff. She served me a guava Moscow Mule and I ordered the fish & chips, both of which were really good. If we return, it would be solely for the fish & chips. My boyfriend and I have been to your establishment once in February and wanted to go again last night because we enjoyed it. BUT you have an employee or regular that went up to my boyfriend's car last night around 9pm when we had just parked on pine and broadway. This man was wearing a black shirt with white patterns, cargo pants, and white Air Force's. He also had blood all over his left side of the face. I was on the phone with my boyfriend when I heard someone knock on his window and tell him to "bounce up outta here" so I walked to his car to make sure things were ok. My boyfriend was still in the car when I got there and the employee or regular was still standing outside my boyfriend's car. My boyfriend gets out of the car and the employee/regular is on the phone telling someone his license plate number and that he was on the phone with police because he was accusing my boyfriend of being with a group that had an altercation with him at your bar earlier in the night. We tried explaining that we had just gotten there and it couldn't have been us Because of this, I called 911 and he started to record us. 3 police officers showed up and me, my boyfriend, and your employee/regular all talked to one separately to explain what happened. The police said that he did not seem to be coherent or like he knew what he was talking about and just asked him to leave. Around 12ish that night we tried to go into your bar. We were told that we were not allowed in because of this regular/employee and that he gave our description for the people that got into an altercation with him. One of your bartenders, female and black curly hair was being nice about it but someone came behind her and yelled "we have you on video". We left to not create anymore fabricated issues. I went to talk with your security to see why we were not allowed in and he also said that your employee/regular said that my boyfriend hit him with a chair. I would like you to check your cameras from last night and see that we were never in your bar last night. The only time we were there was to get in the first time when we were rudely racially profiled because the people that did something to your employee/regular were Asian. And this fabrication and accusation of assault as well as the videos your employee/regular took of us need to be handled correctly. I have messaged your company on Instagram as well. Went here to watch a NFL post season game with a friend. Upon entry it feels like a great spot for locals. The neighborhood bar vibe is real! We parked about 1 block away in the 'Landmark Square Parking Lot' using the Pine Ave/1st St. entrance and paid $15.50 for 4.5 hrs. We were walking down Pine Ave after dinner on a Saturday evening, looking for a place to enjoy some drinks. It was a UFC PPV event night, and we were hoping for a place that was showing it. As we walked by Shannon's, my friend noticed they were showing the fight, so we walked right in. No cover charge. Of course, the place was packed, so there were no empty tables. NO. we were shouted at & aggressively told to get away from the top level & to "get down". We were surprised because first of all, who you yelling at? second of all, maybe let us know why its not allowed? it wasn't blocked off, they advertise 3 levels so we were checking it out. The guys checking people in start approaching us saying DID YOU PAY TO GO UP HERE ...no? didnt know we needed to, there was no sign, nothing. Apparently it's $20 which is cool, but TELL US THAT. Dont yell at us midway up the stairs with me and my girlfriends like that. Nowhere does it say you have to pay to go up to that level, let alone how much. Also, it was our first time here I just feel that employees could've handled it differently, and should give some grace, & not expect everyone to know the rules of the mysterious upstairs balcony... Fun Irish sports bar in DTLB. The music included lots of throwbacks and made for some fun dancing with an upstairs floor. The place eventually got crowded, but still able to get drinks at the bar easily. There's also a shuffleboard to play. Drinks were decently priced at around $10 and all good vibes here. Fun place to come to on a Saturday night. They charge to go upstairs, doesn't seem like that much of an advantage but hey, whatever works for you. Seating is limited but there is some, bar stays packed but that's to be expected. Music was popping, it was the normal top 40ish, with some oldie but goody hip hop mixed in there and the DJ repeated one or two songs - major party foul. I've been hearing about Shannon's for a while from my cousin and driving past often. Finally hubby and I went and it was great! I ordered the chicken nacho mamas and he ordered the fish n chips. OMG both were great! The nachos were full of large pieces of chicken, plenty of cheese, guacamole and sour cream, jalepenos and so yummy. The fish was hot and the the batter was flaky. The fries were delicious. The service was fantastic from more than one person. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The ambiance was perfect! Sports on all televisions. I used to come here often, but honestly the music can get very repetitive on both floors, the top and the main floor. It seems like they recycle the same playlist. Bartenders can be more polite, some have great customer service and you can tell that they try their best to satisfy the customer. Venue - Its pretty large place inside with a small patio area, now its huge because of the modified outside area. Service - Always great staff, willing to help, and they interact with clients. Being a former employee of this establishment there's nothing I can say about it that is bad. Except for how they treated one of their best security staff member. Everyone from the cleaning crew to the cook's to the Bartenders except for one and only one who made up some sort of fantasy about me that was and is totally false. But one bad apple doesn't really spoil the whole group from the bartenders over to the management are awesome and then you have the three or sorry. What used to be the three best security guys on Pine Ave David, Lah and Dino. No matter who you were you were treated with the utmost respect from the time you entered until you left except for if you were having to be escorted out of the establishment and even then you were treated nicely. Hell how many people can say that they have received more handshakes by the people who they had to escort out of the place than when people entered? I would have to say more than you would have thought. Yes at times we tend to be forceful with some customers and then yes we have had to stand together toe to toe in order just to protect the establishment and the customers alike. Edit as of 5/25/24: It seems like my previous review review may have gotten David in a tizzy. My friend and I came on 5/24/24, and had skip the line tickets via DJ research. David told us we had to stand in line regardless of our ticket status which doesn't make sense seeing as the event was ticketed by Shannon's. Thankfully, another bouncer let us in once he heard that we knew the DJ and we told him the door code. David seemed upset at his coworker for letting us in, possibly because he is holding a grudge. We ended up leaving the bar and came back 45 minutes later, David brought up my previous review while scolding us for coming back in. I don't think a short man that holds a grudge should be one that holds the position of "power" in a local bar, it may go above his head. If you want to visit a Shannon's go to the one on 2nd Street. So we came here as a recommendation from a couple of friends and it turned out to be a shit show. Imagine just wanting a good view of the TV and getting a negative encounter from the security guard/bouncer. Then imagine a place that didn't provide you nearly ADEQUATE service to you while you were seated in subpar seating. Not to mention I am an African-American who was just looking to catch his hometown Heat beat the Celtics. Not only that but said security guard either pretended or actually recorded some women who dined there without their consent and they were showing a lot of cleavage but that doesn't give ANYONE the right to do such a perverted thing! The manager didn't stand up for the women when they complained but thankfully the police was called so it should officially be on their radar. Back to my deal, not only did they seat us far away from everyone else in the back corner of their outdoor seating with another Black group who were seated near us, but the service was slow and completely inattentive. Again, this spot was recommended by a couple of friends but they did not earn my steady patronage unless I am looking to be racially profiled or witness sexual harassment. The food was mediocre. I came here for a Keller Williams Pacific Estates kick off party on a Thursday night in downtown Long Beach, there is a bar and restaurant downstairs, up stairs is a large lounge with tables & chairs, plus two bars. The staff & server were awesome passing out different finger food, we stool up the hold time we were there due to there not being enough table & chairs. The atmosphere was pretty cool with the lighting effect also the DJ pumping out some pretty cool tunes. The best part about being here was the bar's were both open with any type of drink so three stars for that. read more
