I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at this salon. The elderly woman who runs it urgently needs training in basic communication and professionalism. I called her yesterday to book a haircut appointment for 5 PM. She asked me to message her, so I did -- confirming the date, time, and service. She replied "okay." Just before leaving home, I even called her again to double-confirm that I was coming at 5 PM for a haircut, and again, she said "okay." I arrived on time, only to find three people waiting and one client in the chair. I told her I had a 5 PM appointment, and her response was, "Who did you book with?" When I said it was my first time there and I had spoken to her directly, she burst out laughing in my face. In front of several people. Then she flatly said, "I can't take you today." I asked if there was anyone else who could take me -- she said no, she's the only one. So then why ask me who I booked with? I was made to feel like a complete fool, standing at the door while others watched uncomfortably as I was dismissed, as if it were my fault for trusting her word. When I calmly asked why she double-booked me, she responded with, "What you gonna do, kill me?" Let that sink in. That's how a paying customer was spoken to -- after clearly booking, confirming, and showing up on time. I left humiliated and angry. She wasted my time and treated me with shocking rudeness and zero accountability. This wasn't just bad service -- it was unprofessional, dismissive, and verbally aggressive. I'm reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau and considering filing a complaint with the local consumer protection agency for denying agreed-upon service and for public mistreatment bordering on harassment. Avoid this place if you value your time, dignity, or basic human decency. read more

Well, I was worried about coming here because I got a Groupon and assumed that I wouldn't be getting the same treatment or be shown the same kindness as a regular paying customer. Yes, I was right to be worried. My hair was washed pretty quickly and I showed her the hairstyle that I wanted. There wasn't much conversation, which was fine. However, while she was cutting my hair, a regular person came in and the person who was working with my hair dropped everything to greet her and told someone else to deal with me. I wasn't sure if this was normal and she was pretty much done, so I just let it be. Then a male came and finished blow drying and cutting my hair. While the end result of my hair was something that I could live with, it's not something I necessarily wanted as she/he cut it a bit too short. I know that hair grows back, but I couldn't help but feel dismissed during my visit. Generally, as I don't know Virginia well, I use Groupon to see which hair salons would treat me well while keeping it low stakes. However, since I wasn't happy with my end result nor was I happy with being dismissed, I do not wish to come back. read more

I got a groupon for my first visit here. I arrived on time for my appointment. I was left waiting 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment. When the hairdresser started to dye my hair she was in a hurry because there was another customer waiting. The hairdressers there were not very professional either. They asked me multiple personal questions about my life that I did not feel comfortable answering. When it was all said and done, I was charged $80 in addition to the $75 Groupon I had already purchased. I paid for full highlights and I barely even got partial highlights. I could not even see the highlights on my hair and they didn't dye the highlights on the ends of my hair. I was very disappointed with how my hair was done and will not return. Worst business ever. Owner was rude right from the initial call when scheduling the appointment. I really should have took that as the first sign to STAY AWAY. I Arrived 10 min early with a nearly empty shop and the owner was in the back talking to someone. She was 10 min late off our appt time with no apology and no greeting . She didn't introduce herself. Not one smile or pleasantry. She acted as if I was a chore. I showed her several pictures of what I wanted. She barely looked at them said she understood and starting cutting my hair. When I saw The vast amount of hair falling on the ground I was shocked. I Stopped the cut and questioned why she cut so much of the length without even asking me. She said she saw the pictures ( all of the fronts- no backs). Never in my life have I had someone cut any hair much less 2 and 1/2 inches without verifying or even asking. She was rude trying to blame me and the pictures versus apologizing and considering that when cutting hair the first thing you do is ask how much. All of the pictures are should length hair like mine. She never apologized and I walked out after she agreed I owed her nothing. I left wet hair and all to another salon that fixed my hair. Luckily she cut the underneath first which could be covered up. Had she continued- my hair would be gone. Where she cut the length was 2 inches from my scalp. Who does that? ! still cannot believe how rude, and utterly lacking of customer engagement much less customer service skills she possessed. Since this is the owner I will share to BEWARE. Go somewhere that appreciates its customers and wants to provide a good service and gain returning customers. I had to give 1 star but it should be negative 5. read more

New customer to V Salon just went for the second time today. They do AMAZING WORK! I used to go to Bubbles Salons for my color but found myself having to return every month, with the technique used my Val I only need to go every THREE months. On my first visit in, I wanted to add highlights to my colored red hair. I had been told by my former salon that this was simply not possible without multiple visits and damage to my hair. Val got it done above and BEYOND that day, and my hair felt healthier than before. Three months went by and I was still getting compliments on my hair color on the daily. But I knew it was time to go in so I went today and was once again very impressed with my results. I sent a desperate message through yelp on a Saturday and Valbona got me in on Sunday! I had had balayage highlights put in and they turned out brassy and poorly blended. I went to V Salon to color correct and make the best of a bad situation. I have no words! She did an amazing job, and I left so happy with the results. She listened to what I did not like about the color, she looked at my hair, and then gave her recommendations on what to do to fix the poor highlights. She did an amazing job! I only wish that I had gone to V Salon first. Truly exceptional! It is one thing to do a great job of coloring hair, it is far more difficult to fix someone else's work.
