Well I gave this place two shots since it's a pretty convenient location for me. I came in twice for Mani Pedi. Gel the first time and dip the second time. THE GOOD: Staff is extremely friendly. Clean facilities. Nice chairs and overall relaxing environment. Decent choice of colors. Parking validation. Second time around I told them I didn't have much time so they did my mani and pedi at the same time. The lotions and creams smelled wonderful. Nice massage and helpful picking colors. THE BAD: For what you pay (They charged me $145 with a $15 off coupon for a gel pedi and dip mani) the results were underwhelming. Although the nail tech did try to correct the extra color around my nails on my skin, it looked rather sloppy. I realize it will eventually wash off but I just can't justify paying so much for an ok job. I think if the prices were more reasonable I would be less critical. read more

First time customer and certainly last time. I could not get out of there any faster especially with the lady next to me hacking up a storm for 2 hours. This place made zero effort to make an impression or keep my business. After 2 hours of a mediocre pedicure I was then told it would be $70. For a pedicure. Yes, $70 for a pedicure I could have got literally 1 mile away with a friendly staff. If I'm paying $70 for a pedicure the lady better know what the deal is when it comes to a good pedicure. Upon returning to my apartment building next door I had 2 other neighbors tell me they could have warned me not to go there. I went to this salon with virgin black hair and had the worst experience ever, twice. I told her I wanted my hair a natural medium brown, and I had lots of pictures to show (I included one of them in the review). I clearly said I don't want any red in my hair. The first time, my hair came out very dark with some brassy highlights in my bangs. I cried and a couple others stepped in and tried to fix it. They kept applying toner to my hair but it stayed very golden and brassy. I talked to the salon manager and he apologized and told me to leave without paying and asked me to schedule another appointment with someone else to fix it. I decided to give them another chance and went next week. I had an appointment with another stylist. I spent the whole day for the second time there. She tried her best to fix my hair. It DIDN'T look like any of the pictures I showed her. Moreover, it doesn't even look good: damaged and mismatched. I also wanted to dye my hair extension to match my hair color. When I came to pick up my extension, it was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from my new hair color. I ended up paying $350 for hair that's very damaged and a color I didn't want or like. Yes, everyone is nice, but they're not professional and didn't admit they couldn't give me the results I wanted. I regret wasting my money and time there: I hate my hair color and it's very damaged. I'm not even going to lie, I was a bit nervous at first. I had completed a color correction consultation with a different stylist two weeks prior to my appointment but when I arrived she had a personal emergency and wasn't able to come until later so another stylist took care of me. I was apprehensive because the original stylist and I had talked for about 30 min discussing a plan on how to reach my hair goals and I wasn't able to have as in depth of a consultation with my new stylist. I *believe* the stylist who took care of my was named Sahar. I showed her my inspiration pictures and felt a bit nervous as she started working but decided to have faith. Boy am I glad I did! She was able to match the color in the picture i showed her PERFECTLY! I also had come in with the worlds more dry, damaged, breaking hair with about a thousand different shades of neon yellow sprinkled throughout. She achieved a result I literally didn't think my hair was capable of. She also did many relaxing treatments for me at the shampoo bowl and gave me a super fun cute bob which I've been excited about doing for weeks. Upon feeling my hair, I could cry happy tears! I called the Fairfax-location to explain my confusion and was told that not only the Reston salon is no longer open on Sundays, but that my stylist no longer works there. I am in disbelief that no one notified me about either of these things in advance and that the salon did not try to reschedule me to offer a different stylist, and an apology. The salon owner did leave me a message asking that I call him (I did not return the call as my time had already been wasted and my hair was already getting cut by a different salon as a walk-in.) The salon also called and left a voicemail the next day to offer a 10% discount (what is that, $8?!) off of my next haircut. Insulting! read more

Loved my blow out by Leah. Started with an amazing scalp massage, shampoo and conditioner while seated in a chair that reclines and gently massages your body. I wish the hair wash had gone on far longer cuz it felt so great. Blow dry was amazing. Leah did a great job taming my frizzy long hair, and my husband thought my hair never looked better. Soft, straight, voluminous. Leah was also nice as was every single staff member I met at the salon. Totally recommend. FYI - parking is complimentary. Enter the Kiss and Ride lot of the Reston metro and obtain a ticket from the turnstile, which the salon validates. I give two stars for them fitting me in and the curtesy I received while there. The salon looks clean and classy. But I wept in my car for how wrong my hair cut came out. I got impatient and went to an unknown stylist . I asked for a gradual fading start from two and go to four halfway and shorten the top by half . He cut using #2 on sides all the way up to my temple line then cut my 5" top hair to 1/4 of what it was . I am officially a GI Joe!! Ooh best part cost me $59 and that's with out a tip! After this long quarantine this was my first salon experience I can't comment on their other staff but I'm never going there again. read more

The stylist who did my hair was very kind but I asked for balyage ombre and came out with a few streaks that looked like bleached and not toned at all as you can see from left pic. The right picture is where I had to go the next day to a different salon, Cavalry Salon in DC so they can fix it. This is the worst salon EVER!!!! MUST READ!!!! My wife tried this spot and had a horrible experience. When she called she asked if an experienced stylist ( being new to the area ). The front desk ( Hanna), guaranteed top level service. Well the stylist had been at salon for a few weeks and destroyed her hair ( Michelle). It cost us 3 x more to attempt correction!!!!! Stephani Newman is the best you could ask for! Steph completely transformed my hair back in October and it has lasted for months. I highly recommend getting your hair done with her, as I do the rest of my friends and family. She's patient, takes her time, and makes sure your hair looks spectacular. Brought my boyfriend here as a birthday gift and booked ourselves two spa pedicures and manicures. Right away, their scheduling system was messed up and had us booked an hour apart. Not only did this confuse us, but it upset the technicians and was very clear that they needed to rush. For the amount of salons in the NOVA area, I have a pretty well defined understanding of what a "spa pedicure" means - this was a regular pedicure by all other standards of other local salons (with the spa price tag). Gel manicure was okay, unfortunately got a bumpy spot on one nail that I didn't notice until we left. Techs were nice despite the confusion and the salon is in a nice spot. The part that truly upsets me is the $300 price tag we were given at checkout. I was there for a color touch up and showed the stylist recent pictures of me with light ash brown hair. I explained my hair fades and that I always get ash color as I don't like gold or red tones in my hair. That is not what I got! Not only was my hair more auburn in tone but my roots were darker than the rest of my hair. I just made a yelp account to review this place. Overall a fairly poor experience. Let's start with scheduling. I called on a Tuesday for a Friday appointment - all scheduled. It turns out the receptionist working that day scheduled me at a different location (I checked, and I had called the right salon). So when I arrived on Friday, they informed me and scheduled me for Saturday afternoon. Saturday afternoon arrives, and they cal asking me to push my appointment back in the afternoon. Each of these are understandable mistakes, but the fact that they both happened on my first visit leads me to believe this is not rare. I arrive, and check in easily. The technician comes to wash my hair. She was rough and messy - splashing water on my face and catching my earrings constantly. She was also difficult to understand, but that can be attributed to my own understanding skills. Now, two words to describe the stylist - aggressive and rushed. She haphazardly asked me how much I wanted cut, and went for it. She man-handled my head and was rough with my hair. It seemed like she was trying to beat some hair cutting record. I don't think the cut and dry took more than 15-20 minutes (not including washing or waiting). Some of this could be excused if the stylist happened to do a great job, but she didn't. I wouldn't pay half the price for the same experience. Two stars instead of one because the receptionist seemed to be trying her best and was polite. read more

Just got back home from my SNS manicure with Hanson and I am SO happy with the results. My usual nail tech at my usual salon is out of the country so I booked a last-minute appointment at Nordine. I let the receptionist know that I'm annoyingly specific with my nails and he was so great about it, which I really appreciate! For SNS fans, getting your nails done means having a good product, or sometimes (unfortunately) a bad product, on your hands for weeks, which is why I'm always so adamant, and he tooootally understood me. He ended up telling me about an open appointment with Hanson, who he said is an SNS expert - and he was not wrong! Hanson was a gem from beginning to end. I loved talking to her and she even made me a great cup of coffee exactly the way I love it. She took her time with my nails and the end results are perfect! From the shape to the color to the building of the SNS, she knew exactly what she was doing! Sometimes people can make SNS too thick and it looks awful, and that's always my biggest fear when doing my nails somewhere new, but that was NOT an issue with Hanson. She has an eye for this and gives good advice on length/color and also listens to anything you specifically want. I'll definitely be back! Looking forward to it! read more

Total rip off. First off it is $52 for a gel manicure. I've never paid more than $35 at most. The manicure isn't even good ESPECIALLY for that much money. Was told they "don't do polish changes." The manicurist dried one nail at a time which led to extra UV light exposure. Also - there were very minimal colors to choose from. The receptionist was very welcoming and made me feel so special. On top of that she made me tea as I was awaiting my turn. First time visiting Nordine; I had a pedicure, SNS mani and a Brazilian wax. It was great and not so great. My manicure and predicate were awesome. My tech was friendly and talkative, and took her time to get my SNS looking amazing! The wax, however, wasn't the best experience. I've probably had over 100 Brazilian in my life. There are different techniques, approaches, etc but this one crossed a line I don't mess with. She doubled dipped with the wax stick multiple times (she did swap them but after 5 or 6 uses). Plus, she chose to start in the back (fine, her choice) and used the 1 stick to do the back and proceeded to use the same one on the front! Yikes! Not to mentioned other people were likely waxed with that same pot, and double dipped. She also spread cleanser and oil on with her gloves (v using a cotton pad) and mixed front and back multiple time. I'll return for nail services and, perhaps, a spa service but never again for waxing. read more

I went here for the first time about a month ago to see Linda for a trim and balayage before my brothers wedding. My mom referred me to Linda and Nordine Salon and WOW! Everyone was incredible! I couldn't be happier about my hair! It turned out even better than I imagined. But I was honestly blown away by how friendly and talented the stylists were and how happy and relaxed all the clients seemed. Not happy- I took an hour and a half off work to get to the salon by 6pm. Checked in, the receptionist told me to have a seat. 20 minutes later someone hands me a smock and tells me to put it on. She says Monica will be with me soon. 20 minutes later and Monica is talking to a client about how to straighten her hair. Her hair is finished but they are chatting like they have all the time in the world. I go to the bathroom. Another 10 minutes go by and no one has acknowledged that I am waiting,nothing. Just RUDE. I am tired after a 12 hour day and she can't even say hello? So I left, costing me 90 minutes of leave and now I'm going to have to make another appt somewhere else and I have to walk around with this hair...Why have appointments if they aren't going to be on time and take walk-ins instead?? My experience here was very nice, definitely the best pedicure of my life! But... I also didn't know it was going to be a $65 pedicure. When I walked up to the front to pay, and I should've asked this ahead of time so that is my fault for not knowing how much they were, but there was signage saying that there was a special for pedicures. When I asked about it, she said $65 was the special which I found unusual. If that's a special for a pedicure then I should probably go somewhere else! Then after the transaction, she asked if I was a resident above which I was, it would've been helpful to know I could've gotten a discount even though they don't market that. As much as this was a fabulous experience, I will not be paying for a $65 pedicure anytime soon. I suggest looking at the menu before going. Michelle has been my trusted hairstylist for almost 15 years. I look forward to my sessions with her, they are really special. I live in New York and the trip down to see her is worth every second. In those 15 years the handful of of times I've let other people do my hair it has always been a mistake. Michelle is truly a master at what she does, she has kept my curly hair thick and beautiful, my hair always grows after her cuts. She also knows exactly what colors will complainant your skin tone, and her techniques leave a long lasting effect. She always listens to what you want, but I also have just learned to trust her expert opinion. Thanks to Michelle I have a new look that I will eventually take to a full rose gold ombré that I would have never picked myself. The other staff at Nordine is great. I would not recommend Tati for Microblading she does microblading inside of prive faces at this salon . She did my eyebrows when she was at flow dry bar and she botched my eyebrows. One was completely undone and didn't match the other. She was hard to reach after I left and seemed as if she didn't care to make it right. I told her before I left this was horrible and she kept saying she messed up but she will fix it when I came for the touch up. Who wants to walk around that long with botched eyebrows????
