I was blown away at every turn at the V Star Salon! I was in awe every time I got a little peek at the color and when we were finished I felt like a new woman. Veronica did exactly what I asked for and the setting made it easy to spend time in her shop. It truly was an upscale experience . She only has one person in there at a time so I felt pampered and I didn't feel rushed or like I was going to be rushed out after she just slapped color on me and sent me on my way . This was the best experience I've had in a salon . I was so impressed with the way she talked me through everything that she was doing and why she did it that way . She mixed custom color for me . I love the idea that I am the only person who has these colors on my hair because they didn't exist until I was sitting in her chair. From the consultation to the end was truly a process Veronica tailored for me . She massaged my neck and head while shampooing my hair and no one has ever done that before. She took my idea and after we played with it and tweaked it a little she executed what I wanted with perfection . She also puts a guarantee on her work which is not anything I've found in a stylist until now. She spent 7 hours with me and worked that whole time ensuring I would be pleased with my hair and also she made it fun it didn't seem like it was that long at all . She took pictures of my hair afterward which I loved and truly made me feel beautiful . I get really bad rats and tangles in my undergrowth and so after shaving it she cut a diamond pattern in it and applied some glitter which lasts until my next wash . I loved it and it's a fun solution to a problem that I've been dealing with my whole life . When I said before that she spent 7 hours with me , I would like to point that out again because that's how she bases her prices which I love . Again I've been to places before and spent the same amount of money and left disappointed and having to take this whole speech from the person that they wouldn't do what I wanted or this would be better for me. I left V Star Salon feeling fresh and youthful and beautiful and in awe once again of how perfectly my needs were met . So do not let the money turn you away because chances are if you want extreme color it's going to be expensive anywhere and if you do it at home it's going to be really expensive to fix . I want someone who cares about their clients and their work and someone who is going to take the time to make sure the hair isn't damaged before they send you on your way and that person is Veronica. What can I say? Veronica is the best damn colorist/hairdresser I've ever had. She really knows her stuff and takes her work incredibly seriously. She is always looking for new ways to educate herself and learn new techniques, and I really appreciate that. And all of her hard work pays off. Every time I leave the salon I feel like a new woman. And, to me, that's really the point. Good hair... scratch that, GREAT hair, is more about looking neat and "maintained" all the time. It's about expression. Showing the world who you are on the inside. Veronica really gets that and has an intuition that comes out in her work. I recently had my hair colored..... purple, blue, and teal.... and it is absolutely DIVINE. I never would have had the guts to do something so bold anywhere else, but I trust her and her instincts. She will tell you if something will not go with your skin tone, etc. And you know what? She is always right! She just has a very special gift, I'm not sure how to describe it. But you know how people sometimes say the secret ingredient in their recipe is "love?" Well, that's how Veronica is, but with hair. She really CARES. She listens to you, asks all the right questions, helps you figure out a way to solve any problems you have been experiencing, and then gets to work. On you, and only you. Which brings me to my next point. One of the things I love the most about this salon is the one-on-one attention you get. There is no, "You sit here while your hair processes and I'm going to go quickly cut this other woman's hair over here." You get her full and undivided attention, and I cannot even begin to tell you how important that is to me. It's FUN sitting there shooting the breeze for hours while she works her magic. Personalized music (she will play whatever you like) and beverages at hand (beer and mimosas even, if you'd like!) are two additional touches that you won't find anywhere else, as well. I don't always get to go to V-Star and see Veronica as often as I'd like or truth be told need to, but when I do I always walk out feeling like a new person! I had a paticularly rough day yesterday so by the time I got to my appointment I was frustrated and out of sorts. When Veronica asked me what I wanted done I replied with the one answer every stylist hates to hear "I trust you're judgement so do whatever, maybe more coppery"! Which is true, I do trust her judgement but she's not a mind reader and does need some input from me to make sure I'm pleased with what she does the next day when I'm not as frazzled. So she sat me down, offered me an Aloe Water and said "let's look at some pictures and you show me the colors you like". As it turns out more copper was not what I wanted at all! So she sat with me and we looked at the colors I liked and she was able to come up with the most amazing color combinations to give my hair the exact movement and shine my hair needed. Of course just as important, if not more so is the cut. I have naturally curly, thick hair that has always been hard to deal with not only for myself but for many of the stylist I had been to before V. Here again V's talents shine through. She understands how to cut my hair so that my curls work to my benefit and is easy for me to do so that every time I do my hair it looks the same as it did when I walked out of her salon, I just can't sing the praises of V's (Veronica's) talents enough! I am 44 yrs old and have been doing stage production for over ten years. A year and a half ago, I was having severe pain in my back and both arms would go numb on a daily basis. I had built up knots so bad in my back, due to years of neglect to my body, that were cutting off my circulation and keeping me in a constant state of pain. They had me at hello! Best hidden gem! This place is all sorts of awesomeness. I have been going here since it opened. First of all, customer service is impeccable. You are greeted with a smile and are treated like royalty during your time here. Everyone is highly professional, yet very down to earth and personable. They always have the coolest tracks playing. Love coming in to see V. I am a graduate of cosmetology school and very capable to do my hair myself but I just can't stop coming to see her and let her do her magic on my hair. Love my hair every time I come in and she is very passionate, educated, honest and hard working. She will work hard to work with your schedule. Veronica gave me the best cut/color I've ever had! I loved that she took the time to talk to me beforehand and ask a lot of questions to really understand what I wanted in a hairstyle. She went above and beyond with style, and color is rich and luxurious. She also gave me some great tips on caring for the color and the best way to hold curl in my hair. I did the massage part of the salon. I was given a groupon for a 90 minute hot stone massage. I was sort of nervous because I happen to be a transgender person in the midst of transitioning. However, Chris and Veronica are super friendly and great allies to the LGBTQ community. Chris made every effort to help me feel comfortable and at ease the entire time. I went in today for a Hot Stone Massage. I've never had a professional massage before. I have fibromyalgia, so I was afraid of people hurting me. But Chris is very knowledgeable about the needs of fibro patients, and took the time to learn my sensitivities. He made sure I was completely comfortable before he started, and throughout the massage he kept checking in with me to make sure I was still okay. And even with as light a touch as he used with me, he still worked out kinks in my lower back (a problem spot for people with fibro), hips, and shoulders. Highly recommended! read more

I use products to protect and keep my healthy, but nothing compares to the treatments and techniques she uses while I'm there.
