I have learned that John is incredibly talented not just with plumbing but with every form of home construction. This means that, when he tackles a plumbing job, he comes at it from all angles and perspectives and can therefore skillfully think outside of the box and solve even the most complex problems if, heaven forbid, they arise (which they did during my project, unfortunately). John's attention to detail, his amazing knowledge base, his incredible work ethic, his unfailing honestly, and his vast skillset cannot be rivaled. When the long project was over, and he finished installing the very last thing, as he was headed out of my home for what I hope (for his sake, my goodness, the poor man has almost lived in my basement these last many months), I literally teared up and told him that having his help has been the biggest blessing. That process was such a nightmare with Old Republic but John and Robin were so helpful throughout the process. I'm so thankful for both of them and especially for John. John removed our old 80gal water heater from a very tight space that was covered with old gas metal pipping that's connected to our HVAC unit and put in a new one - all by himself! I was worried about the old gas pipe and the tight space but he made it look so easy (I didn't see how he did it and I didn't want to). I highly recommend him! This is not the plumber you want if you are of color…read more I had a leak on the bottom of my hot water heater. I called my warranty company, Old Republic, and got John. Based on what I saw and heard from both the plumber and my tenants (in the home), the problem was solely with the plumber. He was VERY unprofessional, short and rude, and was not relaying true and accurate information. He told us to turn off the heater knowing it would be a week without hot water and he said it wasn't leaking when he checked after it was off. It most certainly was still leaking which means that going without hot water would've been for nothing. He was just being nasty. Initially, John said he "opened the water heater" and water was pouring onto the floor (huh? how do you open a water heater?), he said my tenants don't speak intelligible english, not at all true. They are well spoken, they just happened to be black. He was very very unresponsive. He wouldn't answer the phone to schedule a time. I had called twice in 4 days and left one voice message. I had to contact the warranty company all that week just to get 3 way'd in with him for 1 minute, he wouldn't give me a time before he came out to the house.... On and on. Water pouring on the floor the. entire. time. And out of the blue, HE cancelled his work on the ticket for "personal reasons", which delays replacement even further - again, to be nasty. I called the warranty company and asked why there's a new plumber on the ticket and to make sure that everything was fine. I spoke in great detail about the John the neighborhood plumber - I let the warranty company know that his service was not equal for all customers.

Why buy a new faucet with you can rebuild the old one? Why replace a toilet when you can snake it out (which I did myself, after talking to him at length on the phone, and learning what tool I needed) and replace the innards (which was also an easy do-it-yourself project). Quick Quality Pumbing (Phone: 703-451-1150), which uses one licensed master plumber, firm owner Mike Quick, did a fantasitic job on my kitchen plumbing. Quick Quality Plumbing's website should be improved because it lacks the firm's phone number and office hours (they start at 8AM). Also Better Business Bureau, which the firm has 0 complaints, incorrectly lists the firm as being in Fredericksburg. Plumbing Problem: Water leaking from kitchen sink through the wall to the carport. Solution: Quick showed up on time and within two hours found and replaced the cracked pipe. The cost of $320 for Quick's 2 hrs of work was more than reasonable because he had to cut through a wall underneath the kitchen cabinet to access the crack and had to climb on the roof to snake the water air intake pipe to fully clear the blockage. Bottom Line: Great Plumber!!!
