My wife booked a long weekend stay at a beautiful house in Neskowin Oregon for a long overdue family get together with family members traveling from around the region. We got there early to unload everything and get settled in before family started to arrive for a weekend of football, dining and beach walks. When we arrived, the internet was not working and would not even come up in a wi fi search using the instructions provided from Vacasa. After looking around the house a little we found different instructions for a different network, thought we had solved this only to find that the internet service was down. My wife contacted Vacasa, and they were completely unable to help. I contacted our home internet provider and ultimately was able to get a technician sent out the next day and fix the issue. He stated the internet had been off line for more than 30 days. (Separate Yelp, way to go Spectrum Internet, 5 star service, Tristan, Valerie). Next issue, the hot tub, was low on water by about 16 inches, I was able to find a hose and fill it, but this cooled it down so much it took about 12 hours to heat back up. No hot tub for our family that night. Next issue, gross toilets with a full on layer of mold on the seats. The bottom line, this house was not ready to rent. The ultimate kick in the b**lls, when my wife contacted Vacasa and they basically did nothing. We fixed their internet, filled their hot tub, cleaned their toilets! We should be getting the Yelp service review for what we did. They COULD NOT CARE LESS! Last note, the next guest who stays at this house will likely run out of propane as the tank was nearly empty when we left, the fireplace was barely staying lit. Vacasa failed. And they refuse to make it right on a house that rents for approximately $600 per night! YIKES! Bad service, no response! read more

A week before my stay, I received a text that something was broken in the unit and would not be fixed until after my visit. Then a few days later, a call to say that the replacement will be overlapping with my check in time. As it is, check in is 4pm, checkout 10am. One would expect that they could handle this without infringing on my paid reservation. Vacasa insisted on involving me every step of the way, as if I was their employee or the one who ordered the furniture. The amount of phone/text/airbnb messages I received was excessive and unnecessary. Attached is just a few of many. On the day I was due to check in, I received an early check in notice at 1:37pm. I arrived at 4:05pm. The Vacasa agent was still inside the unit, with the delivery guys having just finished. Had I checked in early, I would have been interrupted with the delivery. I could have been in the shower, napping, or at the beach with my personal belongings inside the unit. Here's some tips for Vacasa in this situation: arrange a check in for an hour later, and a check out for 2 hours later. Offer a coffee card to a local shop for the inconvenience. Or offer a discount for a future stay. Better yet-store the furniture and install it on your own time. Vacasa has now posted a review about me on Airbnb. I can only see it if I post a review about this stay. Until now, I was avoiding an Airbnb review for the condo owner's sake. As always, I left the condo in perfect condition. Lake House PlayLand we rented at Devils Lake. Great location. House definitely not worth what we had to pay. There were multiple issues, one being the living room tv had no sound and we reached out (rainy beach week) and the bathroom sink was clogged In master, multiple issues and we reached out to Vacasa and got no where then they finally said they would send maintenance and he never came. The kitchen has basically not much, tiny cookies sheets that were so gross you would not use without tin foil, doors to cabinets legit hanging on by the hinges, the upper windows are all covered with plastic so you can't see the view and I assume due to water damage as when on the couch If you looked up at the window you could see the damage below. Basically this home needs some major love, the owner seems to rent it and pocket the money and hire Vacasa to manage it poorly. I own homes and would not be proud to call this my rental home just due to its poor condition. Also if looking for an open home yo enjoy this isn't it, it's pretty small with two couples and two dogs, the downstairs bedroom bed is too big for the room so watch your legs as it's a chin splinter if you don't squeeze between the corner and the slider. It's just sad to see a property that could be great not so great and to have a rental company that does not care or help but hey we got a $60 credit, what a slap in the face with how much time we spent contacting Vacasa and the maintenance and nothing happened and $60 is pathetic! One bathroom you could not use, we did not have the basics in the house as they did not have it, ps bring your own can opener the one their is garbage and baking sheets too and any bakeware you need if your hoping it's there for meals. The ice and water machine in the fridge are also broke and the house does not have ice cube trays either. To watch tv we had to bring a tv down from upstairs also since the rental company is the worst. The maintenance guy who was supposed to show up but never did had said he knew the tv was broke last renter so it was not an unknown issue. So if you own this home, I would recommend you go look at your home. I can't believe the price charged to stay here. -ice cube and water on fridge broke -awful loud noise comes from fridge? Or somewhere a few times a day -living room tv not working -top windows plastic over them and looks to be leaning so can't see the lake from upstairs windows -2 cookie sheets are so gross -1 big pan to cook in also gross -limited kitchen utensils due to not working or missing -could be amazing with some TLC and a new management company -don't look up, lots of nest of egg from spiders above the dining room and living room -house looked not fresh when we walked in, but that's due to you can't make a place look clean and good when the house isn't taken care of 3 years ago people wrote reviews saying Vacasa is the worst, still a common theme. Vacasa is a terrible rental company who is just in it for their ridiculous fees that they line their pockets with. It's amazing when the total for the nights stay is $160 but then let's add fees and it is now $970. Their homes are not well kept or clean. We have stayed in a couple of their rentals and I have to clean every time, when we are paying a $180 cleaning fee! One home was covered in cobwebs and giant spiders were everywhere. The porch was falling apart and rotting and we were sure we would fall through. They did give us a different place to stay when we brought the issues up, but these homes should be ready, clean and safe when the renters arrive. The other home had zero items in the kitchen to cook with, even though it was a large kitchen, and it wasn't terribly clean, either. It's simple, Vacasa, do your job and have things clean and tidy when guests arrive. When you read their online reviews they always say it's not their standard to have dirty homes but it most definitely is. read more

Cleaning more than high traffic surfaces and areas would be greatly appreciated. Feeling like I need to clean the house while on my vaca is NOT something I should have to worry about, especially for the price. Then being asked to review often during my stay was a bit annoying. I don't want to sit and review the cleanliness or lack there-of or the status of the property during my limited amount of time. Had I been granted early check in, I could have used that time to do so. There was no reason we couldn't have been allowed early check in due to the fact that there was no stay 2 days prior and that it wasnt being cleaned for it to be "ready" for check in! Cleanliness Rating: Just dont look close DUST DUST DUST! Cobwebs and their builders were there for our stay, just chillen in the corners of the great room. Every wall looked like it had sweated, yes I said sweated. Dried drips of some kind of moisture or liquid on EVERY WALL! Dried what looked like chocolate milk on one of the leather chairs. The blinds needs to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned. Floors hadn't been swept, dog food and hair galore, dirty socks once walked around for a bit. Fireplace screen has never been cleaned. Shoe tray still sandy from last guests. TV is dusty. KITCHEN; Ice/water maker in frig was dirty. Surface of cupboards had oily finger smudges everywhere. Oil offspray on cupboard above stove. A few appliances need to be replaced. Electric kettle has mold all over the base (inside), Kureg needs to be replaced, its so dirty I dont think it would come clean, thank god there was a drip pot so we could make coffee. Some of the drawers need to be wiped out, and front of draws have dried food/drink that needs to be cleaned. Electric garbage needs to be replaced, it doesn't work, had to lift the dirty lid every time to throw anything away. knife holder was dirty. One of the stools was broke and sitting sideways, I almost fell off it. GREATROOM/KITCHEN BATHROOM; Drippy walls, urine drips on door frame, and drips by towel holder. MASTER BEDROOM; Large mirror frame (above bed) really dusty. Comforter is GRIMY dirty, old dirty, hasn't been cleaned, make up smears...YUK get it cleaned or replace it. HOT TUB; smelled clean and felt clean, but a bunch of sediment on bottom. We didnt stay in the other upstairs room or use the bathroom. Same for bottom level, we didnt stay in the bottom level bedroom / bathroom. Due to the amount of money charged for cleaning service that is included in our stay price, it makes it difficult to stay again with Vacasa but this was our first and we are willing to try again. But if the same experience is repeated, we will not waste our money or time with the company until they can hire a better cleaning company to actually clean the house in its entirety and in return deserve the $$ being charge for the cleaning services. read more

we rented one of their properties through Airbnb and had a nightmare. there was a mouse running freely inside one of the bedroom , no screens for the windows and critters in the house, wholes in the walls and just simply filthy place. terrible customer services, they messed up the reservation and the codes didn't work. terrible experience! read more

Vacasa is terrible. Long story short, they offered me a $200 refund even BEFORE checking in because of an ongoing problem with the house. Well, there were many on going problems. They knew about them, never addressed them and three months after checking out, still have not got the $200 they promised. A total racket. I can't wait till Vacasa is no more. read more

Really can not think of anything this house needs to make our stay more complete shy of a jacuzzi on the deck? Just enough spaces to sleep 7 adults and an 18 month old. Linens, kitchen ware, seats, a nice dining table, tv with internet, literally walk out the gate onto the sand via a short 25 stairs away, and the most spectacular view of the Majestic Ocean. read more

Lighthouse View Lincoln City Oregon Vacasa review: This house is Amazing. My family loved it. Unfortunately, what we found the more time we spent there was not quite so amazing. Just as I read in previous reviews, the house seemed clean upon arrival. As we walked through the house and property what we found was a house that had not been maintained or really cleaned. So many damaged and dirty things... Every surface dirty and grimy; towels (only towels, no wash cloths) and bedding felt like it wasn't completely washed. The big fuzzy ball chairs are still there (from previous reviews) and were so disgusting. The couch had stuff on it and wasn't even wiped off. We had to cover everything just to be able to sit down. -The first morning my mother told me that she froze all night, even with extra blankets. In previous reviews I read there were problems with the heating. I wrote an email before our stay specifically asking if this was a continuous problem. I never received an answer to that question. There was no way to adjust the heat. The google nest error code said it was disconnected. After contacting maintenance, we looked at the ducting and found it full of dust and dirt. We told them we didn't want it turned on after that; we would just make do. We sadly had to deal with it anyway; it turned on and ran most of the day and not at night. The previous review that described it as either freezing or boiling was correct. Having it turned on made me sick (all the stuff blowing out of the vents). -In both bathrooms the shower curtains were filthy with mold and mildew. One was so bad, we had to buy a replacement so we could use it. -When my husband attempted to take a shower in our bathroom the tub filled up with really disgusting stuff. He spent over an hour (while on his vacation) cleaning the drain out and cleaning the tub before we could use it. The amount of stuff he pulled out of the drain could only mean that they hadn't actually turned it on and cleaned it. Just turning it on would have shown it wouldn't drain. It was probably only wiped down. -One of the most egregious things is the fact that they had a security system that recorded audio and video that wasn't disclosed; in the description or the rental agreement. Other houses I looked at as vacation rentals all had in their description that they had security systems. They informed that they were on the premises and that they would either be completely be turned off or the audio would be turned off during stay. This is a big deal. I have no issue with someone securing their property; we have to use them ourselves. I do however have an issue and am very suspicious of the fact that it wasn't disclosed. Were there other recording devices we didn't find? It was on; and recording both video and audio without our consent. Sadly, this beautiful house hasn't been taken care of. After the amount of money we paid, we should have been able to stay in a clean and well maintained house. The reviews I read from several months ago regarding the cleaning and maintenance issues are still true today, maybe worse. It's hard to relax and have fun when you have to have all these issues with a place you've rented. The home was dirty! Dog hair and dust/dirt 1 inch thick along the walls in every room of the house! we had to sweep before we could walk around without shoes! I put a sweatshirt in the dryer to warm it while I loaded the car then forgot to grab it. Not surprisingly they state it was not found!! We couldn't use the dishwasher because there was not soap. the whole house echo because of no insulation! Terrible! Will never rent from them again!! read more

The room was advertised as having fans, well they are hanging on the ceiling but two of the three weren't working. Sent an email, this was their reply: Allow me to take you through some troubleshooting steps; "Check the circuit breaker to confirm the power is on. If the circuit breaker tripped, reset the breaker. If there are any blown fuses, replace the damaged fuses. Turn the power off the circuit breaker. Loosen the canopy, check all the wire connections are correctly assembled and secured with wire nuts. If you have the electrical know-how, check the wall switch for power." Did I mention the fans are on a 10' ceiling...and how in the heck am I supposed to know where the breaker box is, and I'm not an electrician and vacasa probably should not suggest that we check the wiring. THEN, the hot tub was stuck at 105 which according to the notes around it, it should not be used at that temperature and it really is way to hot but we couldn't get it to turn down, so I messaged vacasa AGAIN, and this was their response: " The hot tub issue had been raised with our staff. However, this HAD been scheduled to be fixed on Friday, when our local staff will be available. Kindly be patient." Okay, no wait, we are leaving the day it was already scheduled to be fixed. So they knew it wasn't working yet rented us a room anyway. So we were not EVER able to use the hot tub. In their defense they did refund part of my money but I will NEVER, EVER rent from Vacasa Rentals again and I would highly suggest you don't either, they are awful. read more

We have rented a Neskowin Oregon Beach house on Hawk Street several times. However, after our July 2021 trip...we would NOT recommend this house or Vacasa's services!! We arrived to find the house dirty, thrashed, items were broken & stained! (Please, see attached pictures that I have posted) Immediately, we reached out to Vacasa upon arrival & discovering the home's condition. Yet, no one returned our call for 24 hours. We called the next day, we kept calling & had to talk to several people to try to get things remedied. Dealing with Vacasa was a time-consuming negative experience. The vacuum in the house was broken & we requested a new one. Two days into our trip, the local manager finally brought a brand-new vacuum & when we used it, we filled up the canister with dirt by just vacuuming one hallway! Disgusting filth that we'd been living on top of & when we sent pictures of the dirty vacuum to the local manager, she had no response! In the house, many blinds, screens, windows, patio furniture, lamps, lampshades, light switches/electrical outlets, doorknobs, etc. were broken & un-useable. The BBQ, sofas, patio furniture, light fixtures, above & underneath the refrigerator, dishes, etc. all had caked on food, dirt, debris, spiderwebs, etc. and we're disgustingly dirty! There was a big red carpet stain in the living room by the sofa. Blankets & rugs were just wadded up & thrown on furniture or in the corners of the closets. Hair & debris were found in the freezer. Trash & debris were found around the inside & outside of the home. The windows were gross & clearly had NOT been cleaned for quite a while! They were so dirty; we couldn't even see out of some of them! When we read on Vacasa's website plus all client correspondence, the extent that they pledge they go through for cleaning, using EPA products, AND disinfecting the homes to keep their staff & guests safe, the reality was NOT the same. We witnessed their cleaner, her products (& lack of personal protective equipment, like no gloves) and the evidence in this home was a night and day experience from what Vacasa promises. The Director of Operations Support, Alex Johnson, even has a YouTube video on behalf of Vacasa regarding all of their cleaning techniques and pledge as a company. Ms. Johnson states in her video that their company standards match the CDC, VRMA & VRHP SafeHome standards. Unfortunately, the whole thing feels like a scam after what we experienced at this vacation rental house. It's so sad to know that this was once a nice home that has been blatantly neglected and mismanaged! We were so disgruntled; we ended our vacation early & returned home. read more

Vacasa property management is one of worst out there. They don't respond to anything. Avoid these yahoo's at all costs. We have called 5 times since arrival and they just ignore your calls. Upon arrival we were greeted with a terrible smell. The bedrooms are stained with dog pee (or lord knows what else). The blinds in one of the bedrooms that abut the parking lot won't close. Lights are burnt out and they don't have plate covers on the outlets (watch your little ones). The microwave also doesn't work. I'm not sure if they paid their satellite bill because it also does not and has not worked at all. The coffee pot is on its last leg. It took about 25 minutes to get a cup. The furniture is covered in dog hair and the bedspreads are crusty, smell bad, and are gross. Lastly, watch your step there is dog feces in the foyer and all over parking lot. The crappiest Motel 6 would probably be a step up. read more
