I am giving OBV 2 Stars for their (eventual) customer service. I would give the property we stayed at at ZERO. We booked a stay at an OBV property in Lincoln City during in June of 2023 for our anniversary. In hindsight, they clearly used the "realtor filter" for the photos to advertise this property on their website. While the location of the property is excellent, the home itself, as my wife called it, is "lipstick on a pig". The owners have done some things to improve the home, but really its just window dressing. Between the poorly patched walls and ceilings, the slap dash painting, the falling downs shelves in the master closet, and the poor craftsmanship on the updates, it is clear this house was in poor shape before the remodel, but still has a ways to go. In spite of this, had the house been clean when we arrived, our stay would have been MUCH more agreeable. Right off the bat we could not enter the home because the battery for the keycode panel was dead. We had to call OBV to access the physical key box just to get in. Once inside it was evident that the house had not been cleaned in preparation for our arrival, but was also in need of a deep cleaning. - The bathroom was filthy! Urine and hair around the base, and back of the toilet. Fecal stains on the underside of the toilet seat. There was hair all over the shower. - Both bedrooms had not been changed out. There was a ton of hair on the sheets. A blood stain on the comforter in the master, and some sort of shmutz on the extra comforter in the closet. Thankfully we brought our own pillows, and were able to find clean blankets in the guest room to get us through the night. - The windows, screens, and shades were extremely dusty and dirty, and the slider door track was so dirty the door was difficult to open and close. - There was layer of dust on all the window sills, and dust caked the furnace return vent. When return is located right next to the couch in the living room, its hard to miss. We contacted customer service that evening upon arrival. The OBV rep was very patient, and understanding about our situation, but could not have their cleaning service sent out until the morning. No showers for us after a 5+ hour drive, and an afternoon at the beach. The cleaning service arrived right on time the next morning right at 9am. The housekeeper was extremely friendly, and thorough. Along with clean sheets, she gathered up all the bedding, and later brought us freshly cleaned bedding. Thank you, Winter! The remainder of the week I spent time each day on the phone with their customer service, requesting that our 1st day in the property get comp'd. I explained to them, had the property been a hotel, we would have been offered another room, or had the room comp'd. Finally, on our last day, we received a call from an OBV Manager, Nick Young. I will say, Nick was very understanding, friendly, and willing to help us out with our request to have our first day comp'd. Had this been their response on day one this review would have read a bit differently. The property still needs some help, but the overall experience would been much more positive. I commend Nick, Kate, and Melissa at OBV for their commitment to customer service in the face of a challenging situation. read more

Our experience with Oregon Vacation Homes was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, the house was dirty and had an unpleasant odor. We tried to make the best of it, but the biggest issue was that there was no hot water. We reported it right away, and someone came out, looked at it, and told us it had been fixed. Unfortunately, it still didn't work. After contacting the rental company again, they were unwilling to offer a meaningful solution. Eventually, another technician came out and informed us that the water heater was actually broken and couldn't be repaired during our stay. At that point, we had no choice but to leave the house and end our vacation two days early. The only positive part of this trip was the time we spent together as a family. It's unfortunate that the condition of the home and the lack of customer service from Oregon Vacation Homes overshadowed what should have been a relaxing vacation. We cannot recommend staying with this company based on our experience. read more

Upon arrival, we inspected the house and were immediately disappointed. We found dirty dishes inside and on the front porch, with food left out. The bedding had dirt and stains; the kitchen had ants. The fridge was barely keeping our things cold. The bathroom off the kitchen had visible mold on the shower walls and surrounding areas not sanitary. Nearly every kitchen item had to be rewashed before use because they were still dirty Overall, the property was not cleaned or prepared for guests. The customer service is lacking. I tried to move our rental to a new home that will allow pets because we had a pet emergency this week and our planned boarding would not allow us to leave him because he is on a medication for a month. The customer service would not allow me to speak to a manager or call the homeowner to see if an exception could be made. (I even offered to pay a pet deposit) We do not allow him on the furniture, he sleeps in a crate and he is only 11lbs. She kept repeating we could rent a different home that allows pets, but first we need to cancel this one and no refund. Oh, so cancel it first so you can rent it again and double dip? The listing was super misleading from the picture you can see how someone would be confused and they don't even send the name of the place even in the receipt they send and did not say that it was a motorcoach only until you were 3 paragraphs in. The listing also said at the top, that it didn't provide the RV or motorcoach but accommodations. I get i made a mistake but they even did not offer a partial refund for the 3 days because they basically said it was my fault. The listing was so so misleading that I think it is a scam 100%. We stayed at The Montage in Seal Rock for 4 nights while my husband and I worked the NW Seafood & Wine Festival in Newport. We had a party of 7 guests. This house is horribly neglected. No heat, no wi-fi, no toilet paper, there was water damage (mold) throughout the home (mainly in the dining area), rat poop, a disgusting mess on the floor of the kitchen pantry, one of the kitchen drawers fell apart when we opened it, the ice maker didn't work, the stairs to the lower level is not up to code causing one of the elderly guests to fall. There are 2 bathrooms in the home. The smaller of the two is not sufficient for the 6 guests staying on the lower level. We rent vacation homes twice a year and this was hands down, the worst experience we've had. The attitude and lack of response by the help desk and maintenance was horrible. They didn't seem to care about improving the conditions at all. read more

Like many other recent reviewers in the past year before me, just don't. There are many other vacation rental companies on the Oregon Coast. I would never stay at another Oregon Beach Vacation rental property again or recommend to anyone I know. Their communication is terrible. I called for late checkout three times (when I booked, a week out like they told me to, and the day of). On the day of checkout when I called, they tried to charge me $50 for just one hour of late checkout. They failed to mention that the $50 charge would be for one hour. Oregon Beach Vacations will try to sneakily charge you extra fees anywhere they can. Need to change your date? $25. Need late or early check out? $50/per request. When I mentioned how upset I was of the outrageous $50 for one hour late check out fee, I was met with a snarky, "well you could just book another night." Seriously, what is wrong with you?? On top of that, the amenities were poor. The towels were dry and rough and the appropriate size for a small child. In addition to that, there was a lack of dishwasher pods (for people who actually cook) and paper towels. The items provided for guests in the home were motel quality, at best. For such a beautiful property, the items provided did not match. Please do better. read more

Last October, I reserved a three-night stay at the Surfrider in Seaside, Oregon, to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary in June of '25. We had stayed at this property three other times, and it had always worked very well for our family. It's an older home with five bedrooms, conveniently located for everyone. The quoted rate was $4,448.27. I thought this was extremely high, as we had only paid about $1,500 for three nights on our previous rentals. However, we really wanted this place because of its many memories, and we figured rates in Seaside must have skyrocketed. I've since discovered that if we had rented this home closer to our desired dates, it would have cost around $1,500. After calling Oregon Beach Vacations to ask for some relief, they stated their rates were dynamic and that this was the rate at the time of our booking, and they would not offer any adjustment. While they are technically correct, and I did agree to that amount, I feel that quoting such a high rate for reservations made far in advance is unethical and somewhat underhanded. It seems they do this merely to hook the occasional unsuspecting renter. Our stay in Seaside was great, but we now have such a negative feeling towards Oregon Beach Vacations that we will never rent through them again. read more

After placing our backpacks in the rooms, we went out to eat. Upon our return, we sat on the bed and were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of dogs. While I like dogs, I do not appreciate sleeping in the same bed as a dog, especially when the covers have not been changed. The entire place reeked of dog odor. At around 8:30 pm, I called your 1-800 number, and the recording said it would text me a number for assistance. Vacasa: Hi from Vacasa. Welcome to Cake by the Ocean. We wanted to check in and make sure our cleaning meets your expectations. How clean was the home when you arrived? Myles: These beds smell like dogs. (Time: 8:12 pm) Vacasa: Let me check what we can do here. One moment, please. (Time: 8:14 pm) Myles: Ok. (Time: 8:14 pm) One hour later, I had not heard back from your company. I texted again, asking if someone would bring fresh sheets and blankets. We started washing the covers ourselves so we could go to bed. I used an entire can of Febreze, but it did nothing to mask the smell. Vacasa: I have notified the cleaning people, and they will reach out to you. Myles: I was tired from driving from Seattle. At 10:30 pm, I texted that this company should be ashamed. I requested fresh sheets, and you asked if both rooms smelled like dogs. You replied that you had to check my ticket and told me to keep my line open. We washed the blankets with the dish soap provided. We have been coming here for 30 years and have never experienced such poor service. The refrigerator smelled, and the toilet in the main part of the house did not work. The sad part is that no one called us back. All communication was via text. Vacasa: I'm really sorry to hear that the beds were not clean upon your arrival. That's certainly not the experience we want for our guests. (Time: 10:32 pm) Vacasa: Our local staff has been notified. Rest assured; we will get back to you once we receive an update. (Time: 10:33 pm) I never heard from anyone the next day. While we were at the water all day, we received a message at 12:31 pm from a male voice saying, "They did not say what you really needed, but call me if you need something." We were leaving the next morning. We were gone all day, returned to drop off some things, and then went out for dinner. The service was poor. When we woke up, the dog smell was even stronger, and the toilet was still not working. I took a picture of it. Upon checking out, I received two questionnaires asking about our stay. I mentioned the poor service, and today is September 9, 2024, and I have not heard a word from your company. We checked into a hotel in Portland and had to wash all our clothes and shower to get the stench of dog off our bodies and clothes. I love dogs, but I do not want to smell like them or sleep in the same bed they have slept in. I worked for Oregon Beach Vacation Rentals as a housekeeper. I quit after 3 years. The reason why? We got a new supervisor named Talina out of Pacific City. She cut all the clean times for the homes in more than half. What use to take 4 hours to clean a house, she changed it to 1 hour. It's impossible to clean a 4 bedroom, 2 bath plus kitchen and mopping and living room plus laundry in such a short time. If we didn't stay in that time frame we get reprimanded and then fired. Wow, wish i'd read these reviews before we rented from this company! we recently rented a property through air bnb which was managed by this company - they seemed helpful and accommodating at first, then tried to charge us for supposed damages from our dog which were completely false and unfounded. i have never had an experience like this with any other rental company on the oregon coast, i was shocked and really mad. Air BNB has been a great mediator but i'm still pissed about the way we were treated and this company trying to get money from us for something completely false. buyer beware for sure. read more

I booked the "Drop Anchor" vacation house for 3 days back in 2020 through the website of Oregon Beach Vacations, and the price wasn't as bad as I expected, especially so close to the beach. My family and I traveled from Bonney Lake, WA, so it took around 6 hours on the road to get there. We got to see so much of Washington and Oregon on the way down too. As soon as we got to the house, the problems began. We were instructed to input a code in order to unlock the lockbox for the keys to the house. Key was incorrect that they gave us, so we had to wait 2 hours before we were even able to get in, due to one of their managers or supervisors that had to come change it out. Luckily we were hungry so going around Waldport was easy to find some food to take up that 2 hour wait. Entering the house, you could easily see the house hadn't been cleaned for quite some time, there were cobwebs everywhere, spiders everywhere leading down to the Garage, and a VERY strong scent of emissions or gas. So we decided to just keep the garage to itself and move into the living room/kitchen area. The living room had a giant couch and tv, that was nice, but there were dirt spots and hair everywhere on the couch. The kitchen had more cobwebs and dirty dishes left in the sink. My wife and I cleaned for a good hour and a half and got it back to presentable because we're on vacation, we don't want to sit in a nasty place! So with a little bit of effort, we got the place looking beautiful as it should have looked when we first entered. The BBQ Grill on the deck also is rusted over, so I would HIGHLY suggest not bringing food to cook on that, save your health. This area is super bright and beautiful, so I don't understand why it was just left the way it was. Had everything been cleaned and everything go the way you figure to be on vacation with, this place could potentially even raise it's price! It's that nice! They didn't deliver for sure, and we were given an additional night, but only at half price, instead of compensated for. I would NOT recommend this rental service, as they seem to not clean their rental homes and take forever to get hold of to remedy anything. read more

Horrible experience with this rental company! Came from Arizona for a family vacation, upon arrival the house was dirty, cobwebs in corners, dusty, a huge rat trap in the entrance room with water heater and smelled of mold. Inside the house had broken cabinets and no hot water. We called their 1-800 number and were connected to a calling center. The calling center had no control over anything, just said they would reach out to management. Had to call several times before a maintenance man came and fixed the hot water. Unfortunately later that evening the water heat broke and was pouring scalding hot water behind it and damaging the wall which was making the mold smell worse and overpowering! The 1-800 number again had no control and said we should call the fire department to shut the water heater off. Which we did but crazy that this rental company never called us back to check how things were going. Back to no hot water! After we continuously called then we finally got in touch with someone named Jackie. We asked her what kind of refund we can get out of this disaster since now we have to find somewhere else to stay. She said she personally was not able to compensate us but ageeed that we would definitely get some type of money back and that after the weekend her managers would be in touch to discuss all the issues and compensation. She said she would find another rental for us for the rest of our time and offered a cabin next door with hot water so we could shower there. Unfortunately it was too small for our whole family to stay at. She found something in nye beach for us to move to but it didn't have enough beds for all of us.. we decided to take it since we couldn't stay in the house that smelled of mold any longer without hot water. We packed up all of our things and loaded the car back up to move. She again assured us that her managers would be in contact with as after the weekend. They never contacted us. We have written several emails and the only response we got was that they offered us to leave and get our money for the days ahead but we stayed at the other house so we were owed nothing. Complete LIE. They never offered any money back. Sorry for the long review but it was THAT BAD. If you're looking for a relaxing stay spend your money elsewhere! This was our second time using this company for our family vacation, and I say without hesitation that our stay this time was nowhere near the standards of cleanliness, customer service or pleasant as our first. When we checked into our place at 1521 Franklin St. Seaside, OR. We immediately noticed the washer had a tape placed over the lid with writing on it saying " Do not use, I leak". This was very disappointing because we specifically looked for a home with this amenity as we have children and it is a necessity. We called the company because we were NOT told prior to us "seeing" it on our own that this was not in working order. When my husband called the rep on the line stated she would contact maintenance and call us right back, we got no call back that day or evening. I even texted an after hours line and still no response. The very next morning my husband called again, the rep stated in the notes maintenance looked at it. He told her nobody came to the house as we were there all night. She then stated she doesn't know that is just what's in the notes and that the washer needs to be replaced. Again, very disappointing. Second, I noticed the home was not very clean. There was a small pile of dirt that was swept up against the counter by the bar stools, there were dust bunnies in the corner of the first bedroom, and when my son dropped his shirt on the floor and picked it up, it came with some unswept garbage (third bedroom). There is a standard of cleanliness and this was not it. We could not walk on the floors without shoes because you could feel the dirt on your feet. The home looked as tho the beds were made & toilet paper was stocked and that was it, no cleaning at all. Thirdly, our 14 year old child was putting her stuff away and found a sex toy and lube in the night stand that was left by a previous guest. That is both disgusting and embarrassing. We are vacationing with our children and for them to see that and have to explain that was embarrassing. This proved the house was not clean to ANY standards. The next morning (Wednesday) my husband called first thing in the morning since nobody called us back regarding our first issue of the washer. When my husband told her about how the home was not cleaned and how we found a sex toy left from a previous guest, she put him on hold to laugh, then came back on the line and said a member of management would call us back. Again, not to our surprise nobody called us back. Having to wait for a phone call regarding the broken washer, the dirty floors & unsanitary items left in this house put a huge damper and stress on our family vacation. Our stay was short but everyday that we were there we called the company a couple times a day to get these issues resolved but our calls, text, and emails went unanswered. Between the conditions of the rental property and the poor, or lack of customer service we received from this company is disappointing to say the least. If you want a relaxing vacation then do NOT go with this company. read more

In all the years I was in business I knew I could not guarantee that sometimes we might make a mistake, but what separates the worst from the best is what you do when things go wrong. I appreciate the management discovering how I was treated and sending me the apology. I rented "Honeymoon Cottage" in Depot Bay through VRBO. Overall the house could be fine if it were under a different management company. Check in was not ideal. I had to reach out to VRBO to even get the management company to respond to me. All be it a terse unconcerned response. When we finally got inside we found that the window over the bed had no covering. We looked for something to use but there was nothing. During this we discovered that the fireplace (which was a selling point for me) did not work. So I called the management and explained that there was no window covering. The man on the phone seemed as if my concern was just an annoyance to his existence. He told me that he submitted an email and that they would be there next day to get blinds installed. I told him that is not acceptable and that I was not staying in a home in which I couldn't even shower without being visible from the outside. He got seemingly pretty annoyed with me and said he would see what he could do. At that point I asked him to have maintenance also fix the fireplace. We agreed to allow maintenance to come in while we went and got supper. So we try to leave and discover we are locked in and cannot get the door open. The only lock is a bolt which was unlocked. After several minutes we finally got out. While we were out I received a text from maintenance that blinds were installed. I asked about the fireplace and discovered the poor man had not even been alerted about the fireplace. He said he would go back. When we arrived back about a half hour later Hector was still there. He was unable to get the fireplace working but wanted to show us that he had taped the latch on the door because he too had gotten locked in. We appreciate Hector and his care particularly because the property management company showed no concern at all. On top of that the place needed better cleaning. The check it requirements are to run the dishwasher, fair! But why do I have to put the previous guests dishes away. There were two burnt out light bulbs. A significant amount of dust. Mildew on the tile. Lip prints on the kitchen window. The house really could be great, the owners just need to hire a new management company. read more

We wanted to book a beach house at the last minute to have a family weekend and be together due to a family members passing and came across this vacation rental place. Since the time frame was less than two weeks our options were limited, however we did find South Beach House through here, plus two others through other beach house rentals. I emailed for a quote and was given a very nice rate, emailed the sentiment that she was giving us a great discount/rate and that we would call with a credit card to book it. Let the other two houses from the other agencies go. When my mother called in to give her the card she was charged almost $800.00 more than the quote! I called, was lied to about the dates we were wanting (I requested weekend, the representative said weekday) even though the representative spelled out the dates and they were exactly what we asked for in my email. We had let the other house go and they had already been booked so we decided as a family that we would stay at this house and noted that we would not use this agency again. First red flag. Get to the house on arrival and the it's late, pitch black, no porch light, the code to unlock the key lock was not complete so my late 70's parents are in the dark, fumbling to try to get in. Get in, the house has one light on with instructions to have 'Alexa' turn on the lights. Nope, not all of them. We never did get the deck lights, where the hot tub is, to come on. Speaking of hot tub - one of the main reasons we stayed - was yep, not on and cold as ice. No lights on the deck so cell phone lights to find the panel to get the hot tub going so we can take a soak. Whoops! Doesn't work, filthy sand and dirt floating and laying on the floor of the tub and oh yeah - a BAND AID. Ok, this isn't being used. Nope. Lights now on throughout the house to discover that it's not really that clean, huge dust bunnies in the laundry room and around tables, the ductless heater in the family room was giving us an error code that we learned said the filters needed to be changed, so that room was cold. Nope. Ok, we'll start up the firepit and relax with some cocktails and get settled. Nope. No propane in the tank attached to the firepit and an empty tank sitting next to it. (we did find a few other full tanks the next day in the daylight around the side of the house). We called in. We went through the process of filing a resolution and mainly wanted our quote honored. Just honor the quote, we can live with all the other hassle. Nope. They won't refund us the overpayment. They would, however, give us a 'free' weekend at another house and they gave us options for that. We looked through the options and the only house that matched the qualifications we had at the South Beach House - 4 bedrooms, hot tub, pet friendly was a house that didn't allow pets. The rest were 3 bedrooms meaning someone would have to sleep on the couch. Again, we decided we'd live with that, take the weekend away to be with family. Nope. We were then told that our 'free' weekend would mean the house was 'free' but we'd still be required to pay all the taxes and normal fees. Nope. You've taken enough of our money and lesson learned. The house is cool, great house for a family to stretch out and be together but it could have been cleaner, we would have liked heat in the family room, would have liked our quote honored. We stay at 4-5 houses on the coast a year and we will continue to utilize those rental agencies. You could have just honored the quote. read more

The beach home that we rented from Oregon Beach Vacations was great: incredible view, well appointed, clean, etc. But their response to a very problematic leak under the kitchen sink was abysmal. We reported the leak the second day of our stay. But it continued throughout our 10 day stay. We were required to mop up wet floors caused by the leak most days. Finally, we shut off the water and decided to not use the dishwasher in an attempt to abate the problem. But the leaking continued. OBV did send people out on three occasions, but they were unable to solve the problem. More troubling was the lack of communication from OBV on the status of getting it fixed or what we should do in the meantime. (the only thing they offered were more towels for us to use to mop the mess up). Based on our experience, we plan to avoid renting any properties managed by OBV in the future. PS Subsequent to posting the above review, OBV offered us a $260 refund if we would agree to remove this review and not share information about our negative experience with them elsewhere. We recently spent six nights at the "Chinook" rental in Pacific City, OR. The unit was dog friendly for our 25lb, well behaved pup & for that we were grateful. Nice location, easy walk & close to the beach. Two days into our stay we discovered the clothes dryer didn't work. We packed accordingly knowing there was a washer/dryer in the unit. The rental office sent a repair guy who was nice & polite. Unfortunately, he was unable to repair the dryer. They determined it needed to be replaced (as does the stove/oven/dishwasher). The last thing we wanted to do was spend two days, while on VACATION, waiting for a dryer to be fixed. In addition the unit had filthy kitchen rugs, kitchen cabinet doors that were falling off (my husband repaired them the best he could) & a smelly, dirty shower curtain liner. The bathtub dripped constantly wasting water. When we asked management for a discount due to the dryer they credited us $100. I can only imagine how difficult it would have been for a family with little kids to go without a dryer for a week. This is the second time we've booked a rental managed by OBV & it will be the last. Their excuse that "these things happen" is a poor one. Waste of time and money. read more

The unit was not as described in the listing and shown in the photos, and when we complained Oregon Beach Vacations didn't care at all and made zero effort to fix any of the problems. Calls went to voicemail that was never returned, and when we did get to speak with a rep, zero effort was made beyond acknowledging that they were aware of the problems and didn't know when they would be repaired. The absolute worst customer service you can imagine. At no point did we speak to anyone with even a grain of customer service know how. If you'd like to be spoken to and treated like a piece of garbage, then this is the rental company for you. Our 3yr old son is having heart surgery this weekend and for obvious reasons we called to see what options may be available to us under the extreme circumstances. Well, what we received was heartless and outrageously rude responses before we could even finish explaining our plight. These people have zero compassion for any curve ball thrown at you leading to a need for cancellation. Already in tears from the news that our toddler needs heart surgery we then had the pleasure of being berated on the phone by this supposedly "friendly company". There are numerous companies that handle beach rentals in the Oregon company, be sure to give ANYONE else your business and thank us later. read more

BEWARE!!! Used this company instead of AirBnB or VRBO because I wanted to give a local company my business. NEVER AGAIN! BEWARE if you book through them. I made a mistake on my booking dates. Called them within minutes of realizing my error. But the money had already been paid. I simply wanted a refund of the one night we didn't need. Kimberli indicated that since we had checked the box saying we agreed with the rules that there would be NO REFUND. This is such terrible customer service I cannot believe it. I will never book with them again and will be passing this information on. I am just hopeful that the house we are renting is not a complete disappointment. read more

Our Oregon coast unit was beautiful, but OBVs cleaning, maintenance , and customer care were abysmal. On October 29, 2022, we arrived at our property to find two full bags of smelly garbage in the garage; a wadded-up ball of dryer lint sitting on a table next to the washer/dryer; beds so poorly made we weren't sure whether the sheets had been changed or left from the previous guests; pet hair on the upstairs bedspread; not a single hand or dish towel in the unit; toothpaste splatters on the upstairs bathroom mirror; no fresh towels on the downstairs bathroom towel rack, only a face cloth; soap film on the upstairs shower doors along with a used bar of soap and bottle of shampoo left on the rim of the tub; a ripped shade on the table lamp in the entry hall; dishes left in the dishwasher; and what looked like a coffee spill on one of the kitchen shelves. When I contacted the OBV office, the rep told me the unit had been cleaned, but "apparently not up to (my) standards." (Yes, I guess I do have higher standards than OBV. I expect the bathroom to be clean and the garbage to be emptied!) I could not get a commitment from the OBV office as to if or when a housekeeper could be sent out because it was a weekend. Given this, and that we didn't know whether the sheets had been changed, we decided to return home an hour after our arrival. We have had other negative experiences with OBV managed properties in the past, not the least of which were maintenance workers walking in to our unit unannounced prior to our check out time. This company is a disgrace. We rented a condo for 6, 3 months ago, Ocean view, first floor as we had people who could not do stairs. Aka my 80 year old Aunt. Get there they can't get the door open and sent us to a new condo that sleeps 4. Two of us had to sleep on the floor on a blow up mattress that they said they would not provide. Luckily the room had one. No view and on the 3rd floor. Check in 4p and didn't get in to our room till 6:37p. Their "resolution" was $200 out of $900. They were nonchalant in their responses like they did us a favor. I will NEVER rent there again and will make it known through social media and anywhere I can. Very disappointed in their professionalism. They are a disgrace. read more

We stayed at the Family Tides location in Lincoln City on April 2021. We liked the location as it was in the heart of the city and seemed close to the beach. Each access point began with steep stairs or cliff so it took us a day of scoping to find an accessible point. For the house itself, as soon as we entered the home, we noticed an extremely dirty carpet. It smelled the scent of vanilla with a light odor of cleaning products so we figured the house itself would be in great shape. I'll also add that we received a call from OBV asking if we could check in an hour late due to housekeeping running behind. We were fine with that and arrived at the time they suggested. As we walked into the main floor, we noticed the wood floor was old and the boards were separating. The gap was wide enough to collect a thick layer of sand, crumbs, and dirt. The board were badly worn down and at this point should be replaced. My husband wiped the floor down to see if it had been cleaned. It was filthy. The closer we looked at the home, the more we realized so much was missed by housekeeping and how many repairs the home needed. The walls in the kitchen and main living area were splashed with food and sticky residue. The dry wall in one of the bathrooms was falling apart. There were false eyelashes, q tips, hair, crumbs, and clothing tags on the ground of the bedrooms. The kids room had chip crumbs and sand in the bed Sheets. The kids game player was broken. I'll attach photos. At this point I didn't trust that the sheets were clean so I re-washed everything and wiped it down. I called the Oregon Beach Vacations service number and they are the only other reason I am giving two stars. They apologized the cleaning wasn't to our standards (really) and gave us our cleaning fee back. They dropped off extra laundry detergent and offered to have someone come and clean again. At this point we needed rest and family time to rest. We made the best of our family trip but overall disappointed with our experience at this location. Disclaimer: There will be two reviews. One is for the business "Oregon Beach Vacations" - and the other is for the house we rented. First, the business. We had used their website to book the beachfront vacation home. The confirmation of the reservation took nearly 24 hours to arrive, leaving me in disarray as I began to fret that perhaps the home wasn't available or my reservation hadn't gone through. But then, finally, it arrived. We were set!! Not so much. After driving out to Garibaldi at 5 AM to fish for a full day, we were exhausted by 3:30 pm. The real problems began when I called OBV to find out how to get the key to our place. First, the woman who answered was confused about our reservation and placed us on hold for over ten minutes, though she did come back once in between to ask if I was still there. She then informed us that the unit we were renting was not ready - it hadn't been cleaned yet. She asked us if we could go there at 5 pm, and the housekeeper would give us the key. Though it was the last thing I wanted to do, I agreed. At 5 pm, we arrived, only there was no housekeeper. I called OBV again, but this time, a different lady answered and she had no idea what was happening. To make matters worse, when I explained the situation, she was curt, as if she couldn't understand why I might be upset that I've been unable to check in. Then someone else got on the phone, and she too, was nonchalant about the whole situation, and finally offered for us to stay one night at a different unit, and move back in tomorrow. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I am not on vacation to unpack tonight and repack tomorrow, only to unpack again. No. "What is the holdup here, and where are the housekeepers?" It turns out that they had not even been there yet, and they had no idea when they'd be there. GOOD LORD. Long story short, they arrived 30 minutes later. They cleaned, they left. Due to our being so upset with the two ladies who had been on the phone (who had the attitude of, "Just use a different unit, what's the big deal? No view, but same type of unit!"... uh no), the Marketing Manager finally got on the phone and she was actually very polite, understanding, and best of all - she respected the fact that this was someone's valuable vacation! That's all I wanted - someone to realize that this was potentially ruining the start of my vacation, it wasn't "no big deal" - it was a very big deal. She took care of us, and due to her and her only, my rating remains at 4 stars. Now - the home. What a gorgeous property this was ON Rockaway Beach in Oregon. It was a three level townhome right on the beach, two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, lovely kitchen, living area with fireplace and many games and puzzles, and tandem garage. It also had a nice grill on the balcony, with ample seating available on each balcony. The home was PERFECT. Where I do ding OBV yet again, though, is that they should have told us we'd be the first customers at this rental, or supply the perks that a seasoned rental has. The owners had cleaned out everything so we needed to buy almost everything for our stay, including salt or foil. For all of the vacation rentals I have done, I have never seen one home so bare of all cooking essentials, and the housekeeper informed us that as more people stayed, it would become stocked, but that this was the case due to it being a brand new rental. But let it be noted that in spite of the mishaps, I am still giving this experience 4 stars, because we really did enjoy our stay very much - though they came dangerously close to ruining our vacation in the beginning. The property was absolutely perfect, and I look forward to going back again very soon. If you're going to rent from OBV, I just suggest you call, confirm.... call again, confirm again, and then the day of your arrival - call again and CONFIRM! read more

Oregon Beach vacations is a sad excuse for Oregon coast rentals. They ruined my vacation by not having the house that I reserved ready for me and then relocated me to a different city to which I had to drive back and forth to the city that I had all of my plans in everyday. I don't drive at night so that was a major issue I felt like I had a curfew my whole vacation. They did nothing to compensate me for any of my inconveniences. They actually tired to get more money from me by saying they would give me 2 complimentary nights. But as I read it said I would have to pay fees and taxes. Anyone who has ever rented house's you know the taxes and fees are quit expensive. I will never use this company again they are awful to deal with! read more

Pandemic clean? Not even close. This was the first time we had gone anywhere since the pandemic, but really needed some downtime. The company reassured us about their new, super effective cleaning routines, but I still brought disinfectant wipes, just in case. It was a good thing. I ended up wiping down every surface and cleaning all the sinks, with wipes stained brown with what had been left behind after they claim to have cleaned. There were hairs everywhere, dried globs of jam/sauce on the table, dust bunnies on surfaces, pieces of jigsaw puzzle in the middle of the carpet -- so it clearly hadn't even been vacuumed. I let the company know and didn't so much as get a response. I wish I had checked yelp reviews before renting. We won't rent from this company again. read more

Wow, I thought I just had a bad experience with someone after sending an email inquiry but apparently bad service is the norm after reading some of these reviews. My story is just bad customer service (in my opinion) I am trying to plan a very, simple wedding with close friends and family. 18 people are on the list so I am sure that means 12 total once we start letting people know. I asked if they could suggest a home large enough to accommodate beach access, then to have a catered dinner in the home for 12 - 18 people. Elinor responded by saying - "we can't do that. You can't have more people in the home then are staying there." It's just an odd policy in my opinion especially since my neighbor is doing the exact same thing in Aug but that is clearly with another company. I'm just blown away that no suggestions were made after a "No." This just left me with a very bad impression of the company and I will never use their services in the future or recommend them. read more

We rented a beach house from Oregon Beach Vacations to celebrate a family birthday. Cost for 2 nights for a house that sleeps 8 at was $800- which included "hot tub fees". My family was excited as advertised was a hot tub with ocean view. What we found when we arrived was an ice-cold cloudy-watered hot tub with debris floating in it. When I called to complain, I received some of the worst customer service I've ever encountered. My husband decided to fill up the hot tub with a water hose and scoop the debris off the top- then realized the heater for the tub would not turn on. When my husband called to follow up on this and was explaining the situation (in a normal toned voice) he was told to "calm down". Their best resolution was to "send someone to take a look"... in the morning. All set to enjoy 2 nights at $1,000 with a cold "hot" tub. Got it. The living room furniture is so soft you sink to the floor- and one of the bedrooms, located in the basement, had no heat source and my son froze all night. This company is horrible and will certainly NOT be getting our money again. Edit: this morning my husband stepped on a rusty staple in the hallway carpet. read more

I have asked Oregon Beach Vacations to put a bigger sign up to identify this house because it is on a flag lot and you cannot find the address easily from the street but they continue to neglect this simple neighborly fix. Beware before booking. Cancellation even during time of pandemic is ridiculous. VRBO is willing to refund everyone their money since it's a pandemic right now. Oregon beach vacations initially told me I could only move my reservation or lose 50% of my payment. Because I put up a fuss and wanted to talk to the director, they called me back in an hour and said that they would refund my money but hold my reservation fee back. Sorry Oregon beach vacations, I don't know when and if I can come back in the next year since my parents are aging and my father has major ill illness and is on the kidney transplant list. I felt sorry for the operator on the phone. She was very nice but was not able to do anything obviously since this was a decision made by management. read more

Booked a vacation rental condo through this company at Bay Echo, Depoe Bay, Oregon. They were very nice to work with and the condo was wonderful. 2nd time staying there and it is well worth it. Excellent view of the ocean, comfortable, and centrally located between Lincoln City and Newport. Highly recommend. read more

The house we stayed at was super cute and welcoming. What a great alternative than to stay at a hotel. It was nice to have a home to come back to after spending the day touring the area. We booked this cottage 98 nw sunset in Depoe Bay for 3 days for our honeymoon. We arrived at 8pm to a filthy house!! After driving 11 hours I was looking forward to a hot bath with my wife and a comfortable bed to fall asleep in. Instead we had to start a load of laundry that the last people left on the floor. No clean towels! Body hair in the bathtub! Dirty dishes in the sink, no toilet paper and a Dirty unmade bed! And the worst this was cleaning human shit off of the toilet seat! We called Oregon beach vacation to let them know and they told us they could only take the cleaning fee off of the bill! This will be the last time we use them and I'll be sure to right multiple reviews on the poor customer service. Social media is powerful!! Third year and I will never bring my family to any of Oregon Beach Vacation locations again! Lights burned out, not a single light working in kitchen or dinning area, dishwasher flooded the kitchen on the first day and was inoperable for all 5 days, no wifi, entire home was filthy, the deck had dangerous holes, trash everywhere outside, not enough towels for 6 adults, dishes were disgusting and had to be washed before use, an hour late letting us in, and to top it all off, management was unhelpful, took no responsibility (Dean was the worst of the lot and clearly his horrible customer service skills roll down hill) and they were all flat rude!!! Never again!!!! Don't waste your money!!! If there were zero stars as an option the would still be negative five in my book! Unless you are looking for the worst experience ever, find a different management company!!!! read more
