I am giving OBV 2 Stars for their (eventual) customer service. I would give the property we stayed…read moreat at ZERO. We booked a stay at an OBV property in Lincoln City during in June of 2023 for our anniversary. In hindsight, they clearly used the "realtor filter" for the photos to advertise this property on their website. While the location of the property is excellent, the home itself, as my wife called it, is "lipstick on a pig". The owners have done some things to improve the home, but really its just window dressing. Between the poorly patched walls and ceilings, the slap dash painting, the falling downs shelves in the master closet, and the poor craftsmanship on the updates, it is clear this house was in poor shape before the remodel, but still has a ways to go. In spite of this, had the house been clean when we arrived, our stay would have been MUCH more agreeable. Right off the bat we could not enter the home because the battery for the keycode panel was dead. We had to call OBV to access the physical key box just to get in. Once inside it was evident that the house had not been cleaned in preparation for our arrival, but was also in need of a deep cleaning. - The bathroom was filthy! Urine and hair around the base, and back of the toilet. Fecal stains on the underside of the toilet seat. There was hair all over the shower. - Both bedrooms had not been changed out. There was a ton of hair on the sheets. A blood stain on the comforter in the master, and some sort of shmutz on the extra comforter in the closet. Thankfully we brought our own pillows, and were able to find clean blankets in the guest room to get us through the night. - The windows, screens, and shades were extremely dusty and dirty, and the slider door track was so dirty the door was difficult to open and close. - There was layer of dust on all the window sills, and dust caked the furnace return vent. When return is located right next to the couch in the living room, its hard to miss. We contacted customer service that evening upon arrival. The OBV rep was very patient, and understanding about our situation, but could not have their cleaning service sent out until the morning. No showers for us after a 5+ hour drive, and an afternoon at the beach. The cleaning service arrived right on time the next morning right at 9am. The housekeeper was extremely friendly, and thorough. Along with clean sheets, she gathered up all the bedding, and later brought us freshly cleaned bedding. Thank you, Winter! The remainder of the week I spent time each day on the phone with their customer service, requesting that our 1st day in the property get comp'd. I explained to them, had the property been a hotel, we would have been offered another room, or had the room comp'd. Finally, on our last day, we received a call from an OBV Manager, Nick Young. I will say, Nick was very understanding, friendly, and willing to help us out with our request to have our first day comp'd. Had this been their response on day one this review would have read a bit differently. The property still needs some help, but the overall experience would been much more positive. I commend Nick, Kate, and Melissa at OBV for their commitment to customer service in the face of a challenging situation.

Our experience with Oregon Vacation Homes was extremely disappointing…read more When we arrived, the house was dirty and had an unpleasant odor. We tried to make the best of it, but the biggest issue was that there was no hot water. We reported it right away, and someone came out, looked at it, and told us it had been fixed. Unfortunately, it still didn't work. After contacting the rental company again, they were unwilling to offer a meaningful solution. Eventually, another technician came out and informed us that the water heater was actually broken and couldn't be repaired during our stay. At that point, we had no choice but to leave the house and end our vacation two days early. The only positive part of this trip was the time we spent together as a family. It's unfortunate that the condition of the home and the lack of customer service from Oregon Vacation Homes overshadowed what should have been a relaxing vacation. We cannot recommend staying with this company based on our experience.

I reported the next daay and the sheets were changed. Window was miserable, screen torn and an angled wooden stick holding the window closed... had to look at it. View was amazing though. Blinds wouldn't stay open (kept dropping at an angle). Fireplace didn't work. How water took several minutes to get hot. Shower pressure was wimpy. 8:00 am construction right below me woke me up. Noisy room heater non-stop. Couple in the next room was engaged in loud screaming and swearing (mostly the guy). I was on edge waiting for something worse. Lauren was kind and sympathetic with an apology, but I really believe a discount should have been give (I stayed 2 nights), maybe even with a night's credit. Lauren was great with food recomentations however. Overall the property and room were shabby and in need of maintenance and general upkeep. Not the best. I won't stay again.

When we first arrived, the room seemed okay. It was older and had that typical "old house" smell,…read morebut it appeared reasonably clean. Older places sometimes feel worn even when they're cleaned, so we didn't think much of it at first. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. We bought steaks to cook the next day and stored them in the refrigerator, but the fridge wasn't cold enough and the meat spoiled overnight. The range hood above the stove was covered in grease and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and the kitchen cabinets were sticky. The biggest issue was the bathroom. The shower backed up with sewage that overflowed onto the bathroom floor and leaked into the room. All of the toiletries I had brought from home had to be thrown away. Thankfully, the staff moved us to another room. However, the second room (Cottage #127) was even worse. It had an overwhelming odor that never went away, even after leaving the windows open all day and overnight. The edges of the carpet were lined with dust, pet hair, and who knows what. The carpet had visible stains that appeared to be pet urine, and the blinds had been chewed up. The room felt dirty and poorly maintained. Neither room had a bathroom exhaust fan, so the steam repeatedly set off the smoke alarm while showering. The bathroom light also had a noticeable delay before turning on. Overall, it's clear this property is in need of significant maintenance and updates. For a cheaper price, we could have stayed at a nearby Best Western that offered cleaner accommodations, a pool, and complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we won't be returning and can't recommend staying here.

I liked how they offered lots of little branded aneminites such as shower packs, kitchen packs and hot tub cleaner. The only thing that I didn't care for was the very strict check in/check out times. Check in is at 4 and you get access by text only. Check out is promptly 10 AM! That seems extremely early especially for the prices you are paying. I asked for either an early check in or late check out and was denied which is fine but if checkout were a little later it would've been extremely helpful.

There was hair in the bed, stains on the sheets and comforter, visibly dirty floors, stained rugs, and a kitchen sink that drained very slowly. We were told laundry detergent would be provided, but there were no pods available. The home also lacked basic cleaning supplies, which was especially concerning given its condition when we arrived. The BBQ was clearly not properly cleaned or maintained. It had so much buildup that it caught fire inside and produced enough smoke to set off the home's fire alarms. The dryer also took an extremely long time to dry clothes. The hot tub was another major disappointment. We contacted the property in advance because of concerns in previous reviews, including reports of bacterial infections, yet it was still disgusting and had a strong fishy smell when we arrived. Someone was sent to "clean" it, but the solution appeared to be little more than adding chemicals. We still did not feel comfortable using it, and it did not appear to be thoroughly drained and cleaned between guests. The game room and kids' areas were also poorly maintained. Games had broken nets, missing pieces, or were falling apart, and some children's chairs were broken and unsafe. Several remotes either didn't work, had dead batteries, or were missing, and promised replacements never arrived. The listing also significantly understates the walk to the beach. It is definitely longer than a two-minute walk and includes a substantial hill--important information for anyone traveling with young children or elderly family members. We were also disappointed by the lack of flexibility with early check-in. Even 30 minutes early would have been helpful, and there did not seem to be a meaningful reason it could not be accommodated. Ultimately, you are paying a premium primarily for the view, but the home itself is not worth the price. It needs better cleaning, maintenance, and basic upkeep. We left feeling that the listing overstated the property and that a major advertised amenity--the hot tub--was unusable. I would strongly recommend saving your money and booking with a private host or smaller rental company that may provide better hospitality and take better care of the property.

We've returned to Salishan Coastal Lodge several times now, and somehow it manages to feel magical…read moreevery single time. The setting alone is incredible. The property is beautifully tucked into the Oregon Coast landscape, surrounded by towering trees and greenery, with inviting little sitting areas and quiet nooks throughout the resort. It's the kind of place where you can fill an entire day with activities--or do absolutely nothing and still feel like you had a perfect day. The staff has consistently been warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Dining is also a highlight, with everything from quick, casual bites at Provisions to an outstanding dinner at The Attic. We've been impressed by both the variety and quality every time we visit. There is also an incredible amount to do. Our family loves searching for the locally blown glass floats hidden around the property, listening to live music, riding the on-site bike trails, borrowing bikes to explore the grounds, golfing, hiking, and relaxing in the warm and welcoming pool and spa area. Salishan is also pet-friendly, which makes it an especially great destination for families traveling with their dogs. One of our favorite things about Salishan is its location. There are beautiful trails right on the property, and you're perfectly situated for exploring the Oregon Coast, including some spectacular nearby hikes, beaches, forests, and waterfalls. What really sets Salishan apart, though, is the atmosphere. It doesn't feel like just another hotel or resort--it feels like a place you actually look forward to coming back to. There is something incredibly peaceful about being here, and every visit seems to leave us wishing we had booked another night. Salishan has become one of our favorite places on the Oregon Coast, and we will absolutely continue returning as often as we can. If you're looking for a coastal getaway that combines beautiful surroundings, great food, outdoor adventure, relaxation, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, this place is very hard to beat. An easy five stars from us.
