This place was nestled among trees, cabins, barns and a whole lotta nothing. Don't expect bathrooms or running water here. Just a pool with a gravel bottom with wooden railings + wooden steps to walk in. Reservations are made online here and offer them in 2 hour time blocks at $20 per person. Once we got inside to the check in desk, there was no one to be found. Perhaps this place is based on the honor system? If that's the case then this must be an Idaho thing. During our entire time here, I don't believe we saw a single employee. Just people like us in the pools. There was a small dressing room with dim lighting for you to change in. If you're looking for a spot to put your things, feel free to plant them on the benches surrounding the pool. Bare bones here is how I would describe it. Minus all the luxury amenities, here's what you do get: A true rustic country experience soaking in mineral water that does make your body feel absolutely amazing. The larger pool is between 100-113°F depending on where you are located. This is where I stayed because I couldn't handle any hotter than this. If you go up to the top 2 enclosed pools, those are at a steady 113°F . Nope, not for me. I wasn't about getting cooked. There is a cute little tub located a few feet away from the large pool that is fed by a pipe. This is the least hot of all the pools and just a fun thing to do for pics. We fit 2 of us in there and we were just fine. 3 would be pushing it. Would I come back? Yes if I'm ever out in the middle of Idaho.

Zim's Hot Springs - New Meadows, Idaho…read more When you first pull up to Zim's Hot Springs, you'll notice the camp spots right away -- pretty cool to see! I could definitely see myself coming back for an overnight stay next time. That said, some of the features listed on their website don't quite match what's actually there. The "bar" is basically an open Gatorade/Coca-Cola setup with a fan behind it -- more like a refreshment station than a bar. The game room, though, was surprisingly nice for what it has and adds a fun touch to the place. I was a little disappointed when I wanted to grab a beer and found out glass isn't allowed (which I totally understand), but it would've been nice to have another option. On the positive side, the place was clean, the pool was great, and the hot tub was super relaxing. Sitting there on a crisp autumn day in the mountains -- you really can't beat that view or that vibe. The meditation music was excellent. The service was nothing special. They did their job. They gave me a basket. They took my money and told me have a good day. Overall, Zim's is a solid 4 out of 5 for me. A few tweaks and updates to match their online descriptions, and it'd easily be a five-star stop. Definitely worth checking out for yourself!

Little did we know that was the only "great" of the evening. Water and menu's arrived after 10 minutes. "Server will be with you". Ha! Another 10 minutes. Caught the water guy again and asked for the wine menu. Leaves, see him consult with bar tender. Comes back and says it is in the back of menu he gave us. We say, "No, this only has wine by the glass. We are looking for "bottles". He scurries around looking at menus on other tables and then back for more consultation with bar tender. All the while I see what I think is the wine menu standing up at the end of the bar. Just as I am getting ready to go get what I think is the menu, it appears. And then the long lost server appears. We ask for a glass of rose for me and a bottle of Grgich Merlot for my husband and for dinner. He returns with glass of rose and a glass of red wine. "No, we want a bottle", we say and point to menu. More time elapses, he returns and says, "no Grgich". We had planned a back up and asked for a bottle of Walla Walla Tempernillo. Again point to menu. He disappears again, even more time elapses, and he returns with a bottle of Cabernet from the bar. So, at this point we surrender, deciding he doesn't know where the wine cellar is located, and accept the bottle. Wait. The saga continues: server returns and asks about dinner. We order. He disappears for another 5 minutes. Returns with his order pad and asks again what we would like for dinner. We order again. He appears to write order down. Salad comes. We finish it. Time elapsed. Kitchen server arrives with husband's entree. Places it between us. Bad sign. Another long wait. I tell Phil to go ahead and eat. Flag different server and ask about my entree. Original server reappears. He asks surprised. Hurries off. Time elapsed. Kitchen server arrived with another of husband's entree not mine! "No, we say we ordered steak and fries." Phil finishes his meal. Time elapsed. Finally, my steak arrives. All this time original server walks by and makes no eye contact. Bar tender comes by to clean table and offer a take away box. We decide against dessert and ask for bill. Husband goes to bar to pay bill, consults with bar tender and he goes and gets the manager. Manager excuses. Goes away and returns with new bill that removes glasses of wine and reduces entrees by 50%. The end of our fine dining experience. Laugh ourselves silly all the way to the car. Recommendations: 1. Don't plan a birthday dinner on Monday during the shoulder season at Shore Lodge 2. Just go to Salmon River Brewing Company.

The grounds are clean, the vault toilets were immaculate and the view of Warm Lake was spectacular. Of course, our trip was detoured by a storm that came in on Day 2 of our staff, so to wait it out, my husband, Rick and I went on over to the Cafe. The food was excellent (their burgers are so delicious) and the staff were so welcoming and friendly, so we kept going back. We had such a great time just hanging out at the Cafe and talking to all of the staff that we never cooked our own meals (and boy did we bring a lot of food). The staff were not just friendly, but you got a true sense of being a part of the family, and WOW can Sanda Lee and Brenda make a great Bloody Mary, or anything else you want, e.g., Old Fashioned, Whisky Sour, etc. The day before we were to leave, my husband cut his thumb on his axe and it looked really bad and all we could say was "We have to get to Sharon...NOW!" Sharon is the General Manager and is also an EMT, thank God! When we arrived, Sharon and another one of the staff, Karen, worked effortlessly and very calmly with great precision and voila, they got his thumb all cleaned and bandaged up. I thought for sure he would need stitches, but Sharon and Karen were so professional and excellent in what they do, they had him all fixed in no time. We could never express how thankful we are for them. Right after that, we, of course, had to sit and enjoy a cocktail or two. Ron and Tawni, thank you for your wonderful team, and Ron those ribs were excellent, and your breakfast too! When we left, I got a bit teary-eyed because I knew I would miss these awesome people and the wonderful beauty of the lake and campground. Current owner hires thugs for employees and says there is nothing she can do when they threaten your life and the life of your dog. I have been staying here about twice a year as a part of a dog training group for last 5 years and it has been a great experience until last weekend. We arrived Thursday just to be greeted by a loose 100+ mastiff dog with no owner in sight. The mastiff went to immediately challenge several dogs in our group. The owners of the dog would not control or confine the dog and it continued to go after our dogs. The owner says there is nothing she can do. There is also a lot of poop everywhere as multiple dogs run loose on premises. Food is poor quality and it takes at least 3 order corrections to get remotely what you want. (I ordered a cheeseburger and got no cheese or burger just bun, tomato and lettuce). One of the dogs we had was a service dog helping a person with disability and the mastiff went after a service dog, there was no choice but to spray the dog as he did not respond to compressed air correction. Both owners of the dog, employee and the owner were warmed that if mastiff comes after a service dog, he will be sprayed. When that finally happened an employee and the dog owner had threatened to spray a person with bear spray and then later to kill them. The owner of the establishment has got into her car and left. Our entire group renting 10 cabins have packed up and left immediately while police was coming up. We last been here September 2025 and it was still a nice a place but not anymore.

The Mundo Hot Spring Debacle…read more Nancy has been wanting to visit Mundo Hot Spring for quite some time so she got us a reservation several weeks in advance for Oct. 15. She reserved a small cabin with a private tub and a privacy fence. Check in was 4 p.m. and check out at 11 a.m. Nancy said there was a cafe and we'd eat there. We got there and we were showed around. It was a nice looking place. There was a microwave, a small refrigerator and a small heater. We got into bathing suits and into the hot tub we went. It was pleasant enough. When we got out I went across the street looking for food and came away with some very overpriced snacks. Nancy said there was a restaurant and left to go get a menu. It wasn't quite a restaurant not even a cafe. She came back with a menu for Turkey, Beef or some other kind of sandwich and a chef's salad. Pretty piss poor pickings. I had beef she had turkey. I could have made a dozen sandwiches in the time it took to get two. They were mediocre at best. We filled our bellies and bedded down for the night. About midnight, I got up to turn on the heat, no joy, the damned thing didn't work. At 3 a.m. we were both freezing. I plugged the heater into every electrical outlet in the place - - nada. By 6 a.m. we'd had enough. I started to truck to warmup while we gathered our things. Heated seats were never so good as they were that morning. We made a quick stop at Dutch Brothers for coffee and arrived home a little after 8 a.m. Nancy called the hot springs and was given a "We're sorry to hear that." No offer for a day pass. No offer for a free night - - nothing. So we had a reservation, waited weeks to go, and for all of the trouble of freezing our butts off, we got a "We're sorry." That's about as close to "We got your money and you can screw off" without actually coming out and saying it. That was Thursday morning. Nancy said she thought the lady she dealt with, after having some time to think about it, would come around to make it good. So this morning, Monday, I asked her if she had heard anything - - Nada! There was a time when no business would risk their reputation on such shoddy public relations. I guess that time has long passed. Take a Hard Pass on Mundo Hot Spring.

One has only one review, another has four. Not very prolific for Yelp users. We brought our camper trailer to Mundo for a Thanksgiving weekend trip. Because it was late in the year, we knew they wouldn't have water or wastewater hookups. All we needed was an electric plugin, which worked fine. The hot springs pool was well-maintained and the warm water was refreshing. Employees came by frequently to ensure the water temperature remained within acceptable levels. The staff was friendly and they even refunded our hot springs fee for the final day, after we decided to leave a bit early because the forecast called for a snow storm before we had planned to leave to go home to Boise. We're glad Mundo is near an entry point for the Weiser River Trail, an 84-mile former railroad path between Weiser and Council. We plan to return in the summer to ride the trail.
