Vacuum Depot Saved the Day-we had an older Dyson vacuum that we took to the Dyson repair center. We waited for an hour and then left because nobody would see us in a timely manner, and there was a long line of people with broken vacuums, waiting for service. I took it to Sean at the Vacuum depot in Irvine, and he said that he prides himself in great customer service, which he delivered. Took a 4 year old, Dyson vacuum cleaner for service to Vacuum Depot. The battery was not charging. Left the vacuum with the owner, who called the next day and stated that he cleaned it and replaced a new battery. I picked it up and paid $150. Tested it at home and it still had little power and the battery was not charging. Took it back to the store and he demonstrated it on a hard surface and stated that it was fine. It was a con. I ended up ordering a replacement battery from Amazon for $40 and had it installed. It works fine now. He took advantage of a trusting senior. Unethical business practice. This review is long overdue. A few months ago I brought in my 15 year old Dyson that could no longer stand upright due to a plastic part that broke. The vacuum had never been professionally cleaned and was dirty. Sean was honest about the expected life of the vacuum (it is very old), but I told him I am very attached to the vacuum and was hoping to get more life out of it. He only charged me for the cleaning and made a replacement part out elastic to replace the plastic part that is no longer made. He was honest and said it may not last long, which I understood. We bought a new SEBO upright vacuum in June 2023. Shawn was very helpful in providing the pros and cons of the various models. We've been very pleased with our purchase. Recently, the light for "bag full or clog" came on. We checked the bag and it wasn't very full, so we cleaned the roller and the light was still on. Luckily the vacuum shots off automatically if there is a clog so you won't burn out the motor. I took the vacuum to Shawn and he was able to locate the clog in the extension tubing caused by some fabric scraps stuck by crossed sewing pins. He was able to extract the pins and fabric and it was as good as new. To top if off, he was kind enough to not charge for his time. I trust Shawn to take care of my vacuum needs. read more

Needed a new part on my 10-15 year old Miele. It was backordered so I was able to get a used part same day. Owner offered to tune up vacuum, polished it up like new, and cleaned all the brushes within a few hours. Great service. I wasn't sure I noticed an improvement in suction since it was working fine before bringing it in, but today I vacuumed my welcome mat and was amazed at how the dirt flew out of the mat! Amazing shop with an amazing and knowledgeable owner! We definitely recommend coming to see Shawn if you're in the market for a vacuum. We first went in when we were at the CycloIrvine event. Shawn was with a mom and daughter showing them his stock and what he recommended. The daughter had researched for one that fit their needs- Sebo E3 Premium. She asked wonderful questions and he was able to answer them all, even gave her a test run of the model. He also uses the E3 at home and loves it. We were following along with the conversation because we were also thinking of getting a Sebo. After they purchased the vacuum and left, Shawn asked us what we were looking for. We told him that he pretty much sold us the E3 from the previous customers but we also wanted to try it out. He was happy to give my husband and I a try with some new debris he added on the rug. Absolute beast of a vacuum! Unfortunately, we couldn't purchase it that day because we were on foot but Shawn allowed us to put a down payment to hold one for the same price for 4 months so that's what we did. 2 months went by and we finally went back to see Shawn to purchase the Sebo E3 Premium. He remembered us and brought out the vacuum right away. He gave us a refresher and things to look out for. He also told us about the maintenance he would perform for us and the frequency. They were disorganized, and did not get back to me as they promised with a quote. They went ahead anyway and "fixed" the problem as well as "serviced" my vacuum. The problem was not truly fixed, but I hesitate to go back there. Also, the unit's clear nozzle was visibly still dirty and had compressed pet fur that they'd not removed. I've taken it apart before on my own, and done a much better job cleaning the interior. read more

This place dod a decent job with repairing my vacuum, but the 1 star is for their deceptive pricing practices. Please beware & make sure you get a breakout of what the services were done. I was provided pricing of the repair & servicing the vacuum. However, when I came to pick up my vacuum, the price he charged was $40 more than what he had quoted me. I asked him why it was higher, and then he tried to add $40 to the price that he had originally gave me over the phone. When I asked him why the difference, he started getting incredibly agitated & aggressive and started rambling on about how he's the best in irvine. Do not take your Miele to this shop. I had a broken plug and took it in earlier in the year. They charged me hundreds of dollars for the repair and a cleaning. Then they broke the cord winding mechanism and offered to to fix that for another few if "it's a problem." Needless to say, I had to take it to another dealer a short time later to repair the original repair. Turns out, the Vacuum depot broke internal parts and then hot glued them back together. Unbelievable. Still dealing with the repairs. Will never recommend this shop ever. I did in fact contact them when the original repair failed and they wouldn't even listen to me and just abruptly told me to bring it back in for a look. No way would I take it back. Our Riccar upright vacuum stopped working (no suction or brush movement). Went where we bought the vacuum years ago and the owner without looking at it said the motor was burnt out. $300 for the motor and $200 for service and 2 to 3 weeks for parts. Then tried to upsell a new vacuum. Suspicious that we were being conned, took the vacuum to Vacuum Depot. Shawn, the owner was terrific, said he would look at the vacuum and call me in a hour. Called back right on time and said motor was clogged with dog hair. Quoted a service of $129 plus a small part for a total of $247. Said it would be ready THE NEXT DAY. Picked the vacuum next day and it works perfect. Here is a very friendly, honest, and trustworthy business that does vacuum repairs at a fair price. Anybody that needs either vacuum repairs or needs to purchase a new vacuum cannot go wrong with Vacuum Depot. Definitely deserving of a 5* rating. read more

Well, i'm grateful my Dyson is working better and definitely needed to be serviced. I had no idea how much that would cost. I would have liked to have known before it was actually serviced. The man working there told me he would call me with an estimate. No phone call for the next three days. When I called up he said it was ready. He told me what he did and how dirty my fan had been. I knew it was. It wasn't broken however just noisy and hard to push. It's still had good suction.. I gave him my credit card, without asking how much it was which was probably my bad. I grabbed my vacuum went outside and looked at the receipt and it was $186.00. Perhaps that is the going rate? But I definitely was shocked at the price. I will say that the vacuum is working really well, still has a loud noise but is much easier to push and suction is good. read more

I have a NuTone Central Vacuum that is about 28 years old. The beater bar froze up and wouldn't rotate. Vacuum Depot was able to repair it for a very reasonable charge and very quickly. When my vacuum needs a whole new head I will definitely go to Vacuum Depot to purchase one. So happy that there are small businesses left for things like this. An in-wall vacuum is a real commitment.
