My vacuum had zero suction and caused a burning smell when I attempted to use it. I was contemplating buying another vacuum altogether when I decided to price out a repair. The gentleman who helped me said my vacuum was great and that they "don't make vacuum's like this anymore". He asked me about the problems I was having and said I could pick it up in 3 business days. To my surprise, my vacuum is working better than it has ever worked. He said the motor was in great condition, but needed a good clean and it required a minor part replacement. The total was $70, which isn't cheap. But buying a new vacuum of that calibre is over $350, so I was happy to pay it. Great service. Fast. Extremely professional and kind staff. read more

I was set on a Miele having read all the reviews, but I wanted to find a shop to test it out first hand and see if it was all hype or not. I took my Oreck in the other day for repair. I was told I'd hear back from the owner in 2 days which he did in less than 2 days with a very fair quote to fix the machine. It was done the next day and I picked it up a few days later. I feel bad as I do not know if his name was Sam or Sean, regardless he was very friendly, professional, fair and timely. Our vacuum only had wiring cracked at the point of attachment to the canister.He said he would call to let us know if it was repairable. My Dyson pretty much gave up on life. I mean, I knew I'd have to get it fixed when I pressed down on the head to unlock it from upright and the head cracked clean through on one side. But figuring that it would cost more than I was willing to spend to replace it, I fixed it with some handy Gorilla tape, and pressed gingerly ever after. But then it started leaving a line where the edge brush was hanging down too far. Then, all of a sudden - the day before Thanksgiving, as these things always happen - tye hose came uncoupled from the handle, and the power button wouldn't stay down. So I spent my last hour of cleaning having a helper hold down the power button while I simultaneously held the hose shoved up into the handle and pushed the vacuum around. Knowing I couldn't put it off any longer, I signed into Yelp for recommendations and found the Vacuum Depot, fortunately not far from my house and with one of the best ratings around. Then I dropped it off and waited for the terrible news and huge price tag. Sean called me the following day with the news that there were just too many things wrong with my Dyson to fix it. Which I had kinda figured and kicked myself for not keeping it serviced regularly. My mom was still using her 1960s Electrolux canister vacuum into the 2000s because she got it serviced regularly, so I know better! However, he said he had a Dyson that was the same model that someone had traded in after taking out all their carpet and putting in hardwood floors. It was missing a few pieces that mine happened to have, and for less than the price of an inexpensive new vacuum, he could give me a completely refurbished Dyson. Well, we had never been that impressed with our Dyson, but the carpet in our first house had also strangled an Oreck, so we reserved judgement. I asked Sean about a couple of other vacuums we were considering. We 2 cats and a dog, so need something "animal". He shared his experience working on those brands and said he felt we would be very happy with our refurbished Dyson. It works 100 times better! And now I'm going to be sure to get it serviced every year - way cheaper than having to spring for a new vacuum! read more

My Electrolux vacuum had some trouble occasionally, and finally I decided to change to other brand. (Electrolux vacuum service center was really terrible, and after 4 months, they replaced my vacuum. But after one year, the replaced one had broken. Whenever I dropped by the store to fix my vacuum, Sean did his best. My central vacuum system isn't working. I called my home warranty co and they set me up with Vacuum Depot. It was determined that the switch in the handle of the hose is bad and unfortunately, Shaun informed me that the home warranty co doesn't cover the hose, only the unit itself. My central vacuum broke down after 15 years. I had homeowner's warranty, so I called them and they sent their own company. After being charged $100 visit, the other company couldn't figure out what was wrong and promised to return when they figured it out, but never did. A friend referred me to Vacuum Depot in Irvine. I contacted my homeowner's warranty company to complain and asked them schedule another visit with Vacuum Depot in Irvine. Another visit, another $100. Shawn from Vacuum Depot in Irvine came out and confirmed that my central vacuum would have to be replaced. He contacted the homewarranty company and obtained approval on the spot, even though my homewarranty company is notorious for denying these type of claims. He return with a brand new unit the next day, installed it, and did a through pressure test and cleaning of the pipes. I am extremely satisfied! I also wanted some extra accessories for my new central vacuum and his price was lower than online. I haven't had experience with other Vacuum Depot locations, since they are independently owned and operated. But I would highly recommend Shawn at Vacuum Depot in Irvine. This place is great. I didn't even know vacuum stores existed but I sure am glad I know now. This guy saved my Dyson Animal INVESTMENT. Those things are so dang expensive and a year later was loosing suction a little so I brought it in and in a days turn around time it was cleaned inside out, looked smelled and sounded brand new again. I'm sure the motors were cleaned up nice as well as the drone sound Dysons make after a while was substantially lower. Just this morning I had to bring my vacuum in again because I knew something was clogging it and I wasn't getting any suction at all. Again Vacuum Depot delivered as expected. Came in, had it looked it, within 10 minutes I was out and on my way with get this, NO CHARGE. One word Amazing! I took my Miele S8 Uniq vacuum to Sean at Vacuum Depot on Friday, Dec 30th, because my vacuum would not turn on. Vacuum Depot was closed on Saturday and Monday due to the New Years Holiday. I called Sean on Tuesday morning to see if I could pick up my wand and electric floorbrush. Awesome! Walked in on a Saturday afternoon, was greeted promptly, and the guy asked what we needed. We had an old vacuum that we wanted to get fixed up to give away. New belt, clean up the vacuum, just do a basic rehab on it. Guy took down our info and said it would be done on Monday! Wow! We picked it up the following Saturday, and it was very reasonable. Did you ever need a repair and put it off cause you cringe at the thought of having to gamble that the person you call will be good and honest? Well, that's what happened to me. My central vacuum didn't suck. (corny, I know) I finally decided I needed to either have it repaired or buy a vacuum cleaner. Fast forward to my phone call with Sean, when I made an appointment with him. He sounded so sincere over the phone; he tried to reassure me that it could be a minor repair. That in itself impressed me. I've dealt with many service providers - they always like to prepare you for the worst because that's where the big bucks are. Sean came to my house on time; he had a friendly personality, and he immediately went to work. Within a short period of time he figured out the problem ( a leak in the system). He also brought in his own vacuum cleaner to clean my filter! I asked him how long would it take to repair the leak... he had already repaired it! Sean then went throughout the house and checked all the hose attachments in the walls to be sure the suction was at its peak... and they were.
