Since they only accept cash or check, we had little leverage to get a refund. Essentially, this is a very "old school" man working with a younger technician who actually does the work. George S. can be gruff, grumpy, forgetful and can't be bothered with this new-fangled "customer service" stuff. We will no longer work with vendors who do not accept debit or credit cards. Obviously there was a problem but I could turn it to the off position then turn it back to the recommended setting at it would turn back on. After reading the reviews, I called and schedule an appt because we all know Murphy's law and that if I waited it would officially stop working at night or on a weekend. Allen came out, listened to what the fridge was doing and immediately knew it was the "cold switch". He said he would have to order the part and it would be in within two days. Not a problem as it was still technically running. The next day Greg called to let me know the part was in and set up a time slot for that day. Allen came back and made the repair. He was such a nice gentleman, professional and friendly. Listened to the trouble shooting I had done and didn't doubt me because I was a woman. As for value, there is an $80 service call charge, however it's deducted from the cost of the repair. That's good value in my opinion. I highly recommend GNG appliance repair for your household appliance repair needs.

I contacted this company to service a Thermador six burner gas cooktop. The burners were all…read moreproducing a very high flame even at the lowest settings and it was very difficult to simmer or cook food on low heat. Steve (and co-worker Sean) arrived today and efficiently 1) determined whether the gas source connection was appropriate, 2) confirmed the regulator was installed and functioning property 3) educated me about the location of the emergency cut off, and 4) adjusted the burners to just the right level of flame at the lowest simmer setting. This was done by accessing and turning a very well hidden adjustment setting behind the controls / faceplate of the cooktop, We were anticipating having to order parts and he was able to solve all of the mysteries and issues without the purchase of parts and in one visit. Steve also educated me about how to better maintain some of the surface parts for better performance and longevity (no water on steel components, keeping tiny vent holes clean, etc.). We appreciate Steve's level of the expertise and efficiency in getting this fixed.
