There were many flies flying around had to swat them at least 4-5 of them. The AC can barely cool the room and mind you its over 100 degrees out during the day and only 75 at night. The front desk man was very dry and try to upcharge my pet fee from $10 to $11 and had to argue that the website says $10. Tons of mysterious people loitering and looks completely unsafe. Rooms did not feel clean. I wish I would've taken pictures.. but we sprayed the whole room with Lysol spray including the bed and sheets. The 1 medium towel 1 small towel each room, no pillow cases, crack pipe under our sisters tire the next morning. Heater/ac did work. The WiFi password didn't work. Etc.. definitely wasn't worth our 96 dollar stay. Very disappointing and disgusting read more

The chair was ripped, the front door deadbolt did not work. The microwave was old and stained. The AC was broken and hanging off. The lamps were broken and some didn't have light bulbs. Dumpster was overflowing and garbage everywhere. I was afraid to touch the bannister on the way in everything was filthy! Inside the room was so gross. Everything in the bathroom needs to be replaced. The toilet randomly overflowed--no one crapped. The phone was broken so you couldn't call the desk. I went into the office and rang the bell several times. No one came. I called Expedia to get a refund NO REFUND--even though the ad has in green letters "FULLY REFUNDABLE" (false advertising) I only wanted a refund for the night I wasn't staying. Plain and simple, this place is rough and unsafe. The parking lot looks like it hasn't been paved in quite sometime (significant cracking everywhere) and questionable people loitering outside of their rooms and cars. Ignoring my gut instincts to ask for a refund and finding another place, I checked in. Upon entering the room, I immediately hear a man and a woman in a neighboring room arguing with F-Bombs and other obscenities being exchanged between them. A couple of minutes later, I receive a knock on the door from some rough looking guy that I saw loitering around with sagging pants and a wife beater. The second red flag I unwisely ignored. I ended up taking a shower and assumed the couple would calm down after I got out. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case, and the situation escalated to a louder level with furniture being thrown around the room. After that, I reached my tolerance limit, and I went ahead and asked for a refund from the lady at the glass window. The Indian lady that helped me was extremely nice, but because I used the shower, I could only get a 75% refund. I didn't want to argue the amount because $50+ wasn't worth spending any more time that I had to in an unsafe place. Just an interesting observation I made as well: before I left my room, I noticed a guy on the balcony directly above my room watching what I was doing the entire time. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think the "couple" faked the argument to try and get me out of the room (They might have wanted to keep the room open and reserve it later that night or the following night for prostitution with a "client" or drug use). Oh, I also forgot to mention the smoke detector was ripped out of the ceiling. I'm assuming they remove it because the drug use sets them off frequently. Do yourself a favor and just spend the extra money at the Quality Inn which is just up the road. You're legitimately risking your safety if you stay at the Vagabond Inn. read more

This was the worst motel I have ever stayed in in my 60 years, and I'm a traveler who has travelled the world. I chose it because it was just for one night to attend a party since I live two hours away. This place was disgusting!! The front desk answers the phone, "Hello", instead of, "Thank you for calling the Vagabond Inn how can I help you?", Sheets were stained and not clean, floor was dirty, tub and shower curtain was so dirty, I didn't use it and waited until I got home to shower. The headboard was gross!! It had stains and dust all over it. I know there was human stains on it if you get my drift! I used four disinfecting wipes to wipe it down. The A/C had a musty cigarette odor to it so I'm sure I was breathing in mold. The sink had crack marks and a lot of mold. Blinds were filthy, parking lot hasn't been swept in months, lots of cigarette butts and trash everywhere. The second floor and stairwells were so filthy, they need to be steam cleaned. These people just do not care at all. There were people smoking pot on the balcony. My friend walked all the way to the curb off motel property to smoke a cigarette himself and was confronted by two prostitutes in the parking lot near the office door door, asking if he wanted a date. The website advertises continental breakfast, they don't serve it. I asked why not, all the lady said was, "We don't have permission." Whatever da fk that means! The most disgusting motel ever! I've seen cleaner dog kennels. I understand the Vagabond Inn brand is considered a budget motel, and I've stayed in a few of them. I've never had a problem with any of them, except for this one. If I could give NO stars it's the perfect review. EXTREMELY NASTY and it should be a crime to allow human beings to spend money at this cesspool of pure filth! I spent one night there and when I opened the front door to room 115, a huge whiff of PISS nearly knocked me on the ground. The entire room looked like an expired crime scene! It smelled horrible, the walls were filthy, rust and mold everywhere, everything was just filthy. The beds were cheap, hard and rickety, and that stench couldn't be covered no matter how much I tried to disinfect or cover the smell. We requested to have that room cleaned again and of course there was no difference. The next morning couldn't get here fast enough. Even though i only was there for a few hrs rest until in the morning.. which i never got. The place was too nasty to sleep. That place should be reported to the health department. The staff weren't friendly, the area is super sketchy and extremely unsafe, the toilet didn't flush, the bathroom sink easily overflowed after leaving the water on for 5-10 seconds, the walls are super thin so you can hear people in the other room plotting murder and other evil deeds (kinda joking, kinda serious). Never judge a book by its cover. It looks a little rough around the edges, but the Staff at this motel are always nice, and friendly. If I could select negative stars; I would. This is an unclean and unsafe place to stay. In addition to all the maintenance issues with the room, there was a hypodermic needle in the window sill. The scary part is that we did not notice this right away. We packed up our things and checked out. We spoke to the manager the next day who offered no empathy or apologies and an embarrassing $20 refund on a $200 stay. Add insult to injury; she claimed the needle could have been mine or the person who previously stayed in the room before me. We were in Hemet,CA for a Double Century bike race, we HAD TO stay close because the race started at 4am, and this hotel had the most affordable price( NOW WE KNOW WHY: /) If I could give 0 stars... The one star is for: free wifi the -4stars is because this place is disgusting. It's filthy inside and out. The management isn't that friendly. We asked for two extra towels and the lady just stared at us. It was so awkward and confusing. Then she walked away.. My husband and I looked at each other like... ???? then we felt someone behind us, so we turn around and it was her with two towels. All she said was "HERE" and held her arm out with the towels. She was on her cell phone the entire time during this. The shower and bathroom were a disgrace to society. I'm almost 100% sure there was a mushroom growing out of the ground on the side of the toilet(picture). My mother-in-law woke up in the middle of the night to bugs bitting her in bed. This stay was a nightmare. We booked it for 2 nights but left the first night, WITHOUT A REFUND .. didn't even bother asking for a refund just got the heck out of there. thank God a friend of ours offered us his extra room. read more

April 14, 2018 Last night my sister woke up to bites and as she looked in her bed she found bed bugs. She couldn't sleep. She wanted to let the manager know but i didn't let her leave the room in the middle of the night because the other guests were smoking and partying all night outside of their rooms next to ours. The next morning we went to show the young Indian woman the pictures of the dead bed bug and she refused to refund us our money for the night. She had bad customer service the whole conversation. She made us go find more bed bugs to prove it to her even though we had the photo of the bed bug on her hotel sheets. As I flipped the mattress I found blood stains of other ppls blood from bed bugs. My boyfriend and me were stranded in Hemet for about a week while his car was being repaired and we stayed at Vagabond Inn and it was delightful. The rooms were adorable and came with a fridge and microwave and the maid service was excellent. But the best part of our stay was the wonderful management, the free wifi and the delicious breakfast that was served each morning which included waffles, cold cereal, and cappuccino; and on the weekends they served biscuits and gravy. The cost per day for two people averaged $55 per day which was cheaper then all the other motels in the area which were much to be desired. Very impressed overall and will definitely be staying here again if we are ever in the area. John and Kerri read more

The Vagabond is your typical seedy motel- clean enough, convenient enough, whatever. For that price I wasn't expecting a fantastic place. I was even resigned to the guy with a hooker next door (paper-thin walls, btw). But the guy running the place (the night office, at least) was ri-DIC-ulous. The night office was absolutely crawling with bugs. Flying ants, mosquitos, little gray crunchy bugs with white spots, etc. They were literally everywhere- couldn't step w/o crushing them, counter was covered (don't put your purse down), and I left that room w 3 in my hair (shudder!!). BTW, checked for bed bugs in our room & it was clean. But back to the customer service- we booked using priceline, but when we got there the guy acted like he (or maybe didn't) hear/understand. We were in that hot, buggy room for 26 minutes trying to check in. I still don't know if he charged our card again, since he didn't care that we booked on priceline, and we couldn't hear a word he said behind the thick glass w no speaker. He had a bit of an accent, but whatever- it was less that & more that he was slurring. Or maybe he wasn't, and we just couldn't hear through the glass... Anyway, it was awful, and he was the least helpful person ever. I would have preferred the "Computer says noo" gag. The room was fine. Old & rundown, but clean enough. Not for OCD types, but no hairs & no bugs in the room or bed. And like I said, paper-thin walls. Good on that guy for making that hooker enjoy herself so much, though. Sounded legit... The accommodations at this inn are what you would expect at an inexpensive motel, very basic and minimal. The bathtub and shower were very run down and the hot water was not always consistent. The furniture was in average condition. The tv and mini fridge in the room were a plus. Sheets and towels appeared clean. The fire detector in our room started beeping, I assume because the battery was low, at 5AM which was an annoyance. The reason I am giving a two star review is not because of the condition of the room, it is due to the service. Upon check-in we were told that we booked a smoking room, which was not the case. My husband showed the woman who was helping us a print out of our booking.com reservation. The print out clearly showed that we booked a standard, non-smoking room. There was a picture of the universal symbol for "no smoking" (a red circle with a slash over a picture of a lit cigarette) rather than the words "non-smoking" on our reservation. The woman insisted that this "no smoking" symbol meant we booked a smoking room. After treating us very rudely she reluctantly gave us the non-smoking room. I have never been treated so poorly at hotel check in, it was a real turn off. I am sorry to say that we will never be staying at this hotel again, nor would we ever recommend it to any of our friends. read more

Fortunately, they had direct tv with a full compliment of channels, and that made the stay a bit easier. It's in a fairly questionable neighborhood on the main drag through Hemet. It would not be my first choice of hotels in the area, but it was available on short notice. They do have a free continental breakfast in the morning, but I skipped that. read more

Stayed here on a Saturday night for $50.00 while attending a party in Nuevo. Basically you get what you pay for. We were on the bottom floor and we could totally hear every step above us.
