Didn't do much for my aching lower neck which I thought I might have injured when I hit my head on the roof of my vehicle while trying to get in. Didn't use the common Hylo table, rather, it was some mechanical table which ran a hard and uncomfortable roller over my spine as I lay on my back. Used electrical muscle stimulation on the upper portion of my back, which I knew was bogus, because my brother-in-law had bought one in Las Vegas and it never worked for me. In fact, I ended up getting fungus infection in the areas where the diodes where placed, which gave me reason to believe that they weren't sterilized (Thank goodness for Lotrimin)! Lastly, he did some cracking on my shoulder blades which ended up aching for several months. A year or so after my neck ache, the pain finally went away on it's own (as my wife had said based on her experience). Moral of the story: In due time your muscle ache will go away. In less than a month, I have already had many visits in order to preserve the loose memory in my tight muscles. Every visit is convenient and relaxing. The staff and Dr. Nguyen are as kind and friendly and helpful as the first day. Dr. Nguyen really gets to know you as a person, and Lord knows he's been listening to me vent about my problems in life and he gives prudent advice and feedback. I'm utterly glad I decided to come see a chiropractor but even more glad I chose Dr. Nguyen's office. Because of Dr. Nguyen, I now sit up much straighter with no back pain and the neck pains have diminished dramatically; my entire body feels so loose and mellow. Sprained my ankle at Yosemite last week during a hike and couldn't wait to get back on my feet. I'm a horrible recoverer who refuses to "R.I.C.E" because I can't sit still! A friend recommended that I go see a chiropractor, so I searched it up on Yelp and called VAL office's number. Lam returned my call, and I made an appointment to go see him the next day. He was quick, direct, and smart. Explained to me exactly what happened, why it happened, and what he was going to do. I received hi-volt electrotherapy so that the electric current can take the inflammation out, and he wrapped my ankle up afterwards. It's been 11 hours and my ankle feels A LOT better. I hardly feel pain anymore, and I can move my ankle around a larger range of motion. Great communication skills. We talked about school.. job.. life. He even gave me a discount because I was a student, which touched me because he valued education and understood the hardships of being a college student with NO health insurance. I was referred to Dr. Lam/David Nguyen by my fiance who is a frequent patient and I have been seeing him now for about a year. I use to be skeptical about going to a chiropractor in general because I was paranoid thinking, what if I break something? I also thought, why go if you're not in any pain right? But after seeing Dr. Nguyen, I now think, man his visits help me out so much, why haven't I started going sooner? I remember the first time I met him, he explained to me the importance of seeing a chiropractor for preventive care. I see Dr. Nguyen once a month for preventive care and my fiance who is in bad shape has appointments once a week. My fiance has said seeing Dr. Nguyen has reduced his back and neck pains tremendously. I even referred a friend to Dr. Nguyen who has really bad pains and headaches and now no longer has any of those issues. I just started working so seeing Dr. Nguyen helps ease any muscle tensions that I acquire from sitting at a desk for 8+ hours. Funny as it is, I actually look forward to my appointments now because my tense muscles are relaxed from working so much and he's always fun to talk to. He'll tell you all these cool stuff like places to visit or good foods to eat. He even told me he had a patient who commuted like an hour away just to come see him. Legit! Been coming here for since November 2014 and have recommended numerous people to come by since all my experience has been great. Dr. Lam is fantastic and work wonders for my lower back pain. I gradually had him work on the rest of my body due to my lifting sessions. During the sessions, we would chat about the gym and how to lift correctly. He saved me from messing up my knees (taught me to squat correctly) and shoulders (how to work my shoulder without forcing me to work out my traps). Dr. Lam Nguyen is honest, straight forward, and efficient I came to the doc because an awful pain that started on the left side of my spine and radiated up to my neck. It was so bad that occasionally I had to lay down and not move for 5-10 minutes. At my appointment the doc educated me on why I was having my symptoms and things I needed to do to relieve my pain. He reassured me that my pain was simply caused by my posture at work and my weak back muscles, not a growth on my spine ( I was a little paranoid). He basically said I'm getting older and I need to start working out again and strengthen my back muscles. I'm a young female professional who basically put off exercising because I was "too busy" with work. My back pain was kinda a big of an eye opener and blessing in disguise. Now I make time to work out 2-3 times a week - making sure I do the exercises Dr. Lam recommended. After 2-4 weeks of exercising my back pain is now all gone! Amazing! read more

Recently one day my back was very tense and I would get a tingle sensation between my toes making me very worried. I visited Dr. Lam's office for a consultation. I got an x-ray which Marissa messed up on marking my upper back instead of my lower back which caused me to pay extra for the x-ray. But Dr.Lam waived my first treatment because of it. Although this is my husband's username, I'm using it to voice my comments about Dr. Lam. My name is Kim and I've had chiropractic care since I was in my early teens. I had issues with every chiropractor I've seen until I met Dr. Lam. I moved here from Omaha, NE in October 2010 and was in search of a chiropractor. I went on Yelp and read the many statements about Dr. Lam and although I was a little hesitant, I called and made an appointment. On the first visit he explained to me the reason for my back pain. I told him I would often leave my chiropractors office still in discomfort; Dr. Lam said that shouldn't happen. I've been seeing him for over 90 days and will continue seeing him. He has helped me with my tension/migraine headaches, posture and has shown me several stretching exercises that will help me. I enjoy talking sports with him and enjoy working with Marissa. I can't say enough about this chiropractor. I wish there were more chiropractors like him that concentrate on the muscular system of the body and not just cracking, popping bones & joints. He is awesome!! P.S. On Friday I had a horrible HA, called his office and he saw me within 25 minutes. He spent over 45 minutes with me working on my neck, back and shoulder muscles. I have gone to dr.lam since 2006. He is awesome! Initially, I went due to a car accident. After I realized how much he can help with my sports . I have done soccer, golf, tennis, crossfit, krav maga, and Bootcamps while under his care! His use of active release techniques and kinesio taping combined with his knowledge of many sports is what sets him apart from most. ART is hard to come by but has helped my hip flexors, shins, thighs and back... Overall, it has helped me consistently train hard with less injury. I have bad posture and poor vision. I read a couple of books on improving vision naturally, and realized that the chief seat of mechanical interference with the blood and nerve supply to the eyes lies in the muscles covering the upper portion of the spine (at the back of the neck). Dr. Lam Nguyan has been helping me to make sure that the muscles at the back are perfectly relaxed and loose, and that no spinal defects are present. After two or three treatments I noticed that my vision became sharper (and I did not do any eye exercises at that time)! In addition, my back got better and those headaches that I used to have seem to have vanished completely. Dr. Nguyen has been treating me for a complicated back injury which has perplexed many other much more expensive medical practitioners. It has been a painful and frustrating journey, but Dr. Nguyen has not once given up on me and is always genuinely concerned when things aren't going well. This place is a gem! One day my whole right leg/lower back just tightened up so bad I didn't know what was going on. I couldn't run, limped walking, had incredible pain sitting, and couldn't sleep from the pain. It just numbed my leg and sent shocking waves of pain so bad. I yelped a chiropractor and saw this place had 5 stars and a free consultation deal. So, i called quickly, scheduled an appointment the next day and was there the next morning to see Dr. Lam Nguyen. In the brief description of the pain, he was able to exactly identify the problem and symptoms. I agreed to a package deal and I think that same day did a treatment. It was amazing. I walked out of the place feeling 1000x better. Although not at 100% it was a great improvement for just 1 treatment session. I continued going for the next 2 months or so. Every session improved my movement greatly. Now I'm in perfectly healthy condition with great posture and movement. Way more flexible than I was going in. The staff never kept me waiting.
