My townhouse A/C system wasn't pumping out as much cold air as compared to previous summers, so I scheduled a service appointment online, which was very easy to do. On Wednesday, I requested an early time slot on the following Monday, and received 2 confirmations via text msg before my appointment. Tom came right on time on Monday morning, and after the diagnostics, told me what service was needed, and gave me an estimate before starting his work. He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns, and worked quickly to get the service done. He was particularly attentive to using the shoe covers while going in and out of the house and keeping everything as clean and tidy as possible. Reassembly and clean-up after the service was also quick and tidy, and he explained all the charges as well as the paperwork which would arrive in my inbox. Everything was a cinch, no hassle -- I was also satisfied with the the discounts that was applied with the yearly service contract, which is definitely worth getting. The best part is Tom himself and his attentiveness to my needs and what I expected from the service call. We called Tom in to take a look at our AC unit, which stopped working the day before. He was very courteous when he first came and very thorough his assessment. He even came half hour early. However when he sat is down to review our options for replacing the AC/furnace, that was when he became very rude. He only explained the highest and the lowest costing options out of six; when we asked about the other 4 options he waved his hand dismissively and told us not to worry about those and pushed us towards the more expensive option. Granted it had better features, but he was also dismissive when I asked him to reiterate the difference in price on a technical level. He talked over my question and told me to go read the site. For another technical question about the specs, he wouldn't answer it and then started quizzing me condescendingly about all the other technical specs he info-dumped on us. It came to a point where he wanted to dominate the conversation and leave very little room to ask questions. He even told me my question was irrelevant and that he wouldn't answer it, then proceeded to move on to another topic. Really? Asking about the difference between a 1-,2- and modulating stage wasn't important? Asking if the communicating ac/furnace works with the ecobee or if it comes with it's own smart device/app is irrelevant? Asking about the realized/human-perceived benefits for upgrading from a 1-stage to a 2-stage AC unit is not important? And even if you explained it once already, would it would it kill you to repeat yourself one more time? Listen buddy, these are new terms and you only gave me 10 mins to digest the information before you started pushing us to make a choice, which isn't an easy one because the cost difference was between $14k and $8k. To top it off, he kept answering other customers' phone calls while we were meeting with him. I get that you had a busy day, but I scheduled you for 11-12pm and you were trying to run out the door before the time was up. I would have been more understanding if you told us you needed time to travel to another appointment and for us to talk over the phone at a later time if we had more questions or are ready to make a decision. I placed a service call for an AC Tune Up and was given an appointment within a day. Once the technician arrived, he seemed a little annoyed by the few questions I asked and then insisted the service call was for a complete new system installation. I told him that wasn't correct, just assuming things get switched up here & there in offices especially during the busy months and once he rechecked his paperwork again, he realized the mistake which made him even more unpleasant about the situation. I live in a condo community and unfortunately the water isn't turned on for all the buildings (mine of course being one that is without water). However the building next to us (about 150 feet from water source to my AC Unit) did have water access. We just would need additional hosing to extend from the source to the unit. He stated he didn't have all the equipment he needed and would have to ask some of the other guys for theirs and would be back in a day or two at most to handle the Tune Up call. I completely understood and said I would wait for his call to update a day and time. Well it's now been almost 2 weeks later and I still have heard not a single word from him or anyone at the company at all. I attempted to contact the company for a callback or any kind of update whatsoever and received absolutely NO RESPONSE AT ALL. He also wanted access to my basement to examine my furnace unit stating "PSE&G sucks at what they do so I need to make sure the blower is working correctly". The company I had come in after Always Comfy blew me off informed me, they all have equipment that can read the blower and other parts efficiency from the outside. I'm not against letting someone in my house. However I have two large dogs, which are harmless, but tend to startle others so if I can avoid any interaction I try to. If not, no biggie. It's easily handled. I don't know if it was too much work to be done for a cleaning or not as lucrative of a service call as a complete system replacement. However, every customer should be treated with respect and at the very least given a response to a phone call or previously scheduled service call. Worst part was the technician is also the owner of the company. I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND Always Comfy. They are not reliable in any way, at least not in my situation. read more

Tom came in and did a really good job. He explained the problem as well as all the steps he was taking. After he completed the fix he checked the entire system to make sure everything was running Update - Tom had to come in and change fusible links for the vents. This is not very time consuming. He charged me $265 (one hour labor) which I thought was shockingly high. He did test everything once he was done fixing the links. I would recommend that you negotiate a flat price with him to get the work done. Always Comfy (Tom McNally), the name says it all they always make sure your home HVAC System is up and running, this a local service provider that really is there to help you with any HVAC issues. He came in when he said he will (on time) and will see what's the issue, explain what's the best solution for the issue and will not charge you arm and a leg for fixing it. He fixed the issue and then I asked him if we do a yearly service contract that will help us make sure that everything is running smoothly and also maintained properly. Then after he left our heating system worked fine for 2 days, he had already informed us that if this goes back we'll have to change a part that he had previously cleaned to make things work. After two days heating went back to working on and off, so I called Always Comfy and Tom said he will be there at the end of the days as we come home after work to fix it. It's was to our surprise he came to fix it just before he had to join his family for a dinner on his birthday. Our AC was too old and broke down recently, so we needed an A/C replacement. After a few estimate visits by several companies, I decided to ask Tom to do the installation for us. Upon the first visit, Tom already showed his devotion to the business which distinguished him from others. When the other companies came, they gave me only one model of furnace and AC that I can "choose" and then gave me a quote, explained the warranty, then left. But for Tom, he not only did all that but he sat down with me and listened to what I needed and what my preference use of AC was first, and then he selected a few models for me. He explained in details the difference of each model, from AC, furnace even to a thermometer. He also went above and beyond to customize the furnace a little so it is much easier for me to change the filter now then before. On top of all these, his price still remained very competitive. During the installation process, Tom was very thorough and knowledgeable at his work. He would tell me which steps he was on and what parts he was going to install so I always felt on top of things. Whenever I had questions, he answered patiently and easy for me to understand. After finishing all his works, he stayed and made sure everything was working. He also checked for me if leak problem still occur without me asking him to. I called Tom first thing in the morning for an issue with what I thought was my thermostat/AC unit. Tom came within 2 hours of my phone call, was incredibly thorough, professional and respectful. After listening to what I told him I already tried, he ran a slew of tests and saw that there was nothing wrong with my AC, but noted that for some reason my heating system was tripped and that was causing my fan to continuously run. He reset my unit, explained what to do the next time something similar happens and didn't try to up-sell me or convince me that I needed additional repairs.
