    My nasty bowl from vale.

This place is NOT good. I've been trying all of the healthy spots in Gainesville lately, and this is by far the worst one. Let's start with the overall vibe, it's not the cleanest place. Seems poorly managed/ cleaned. The staff is also not friendly. The food is the real shocker here, because it's not like some sort of complicated idea. Just make good healthy food with decent portions. It tastes horrible. The sauce they give you on the side is TINY. They compeltely skimp the food portions, I ate my entire "2 bowl" and still wound up having to pick up a snack from Whole Foods. My "boost" was edamame, which was cold, and compeltely off tasting. They gave me like 6 pieces of edamame, it was a joke. The ground beef was an up charge, which makes no sense. Like it's ground beef? Clean up this place, hire better people, make food that people actually like, not stuff they force feed themselves to feel "healthy" Once their customer base discovers Bolay, this place will quickly die out.

    Guac Around Globe Bowl

Had a great meal here! The food was delicious- got the guac around bowl but with Mediterranean chicken instead and it was really good! Wish there were more protein and veggies though, since the rice took up most of the bowl space. We also got a regular acai and it was very good. Service was quick and the servers were very kind. Plus, the music they were playing was really nice haha

Stopped by & had the Buffalo Chicken Salad. This was absolutely amazing! The prices were a little high, however the quality and the quantity were also high! ;) This was a salad that left me feeling very full. In fact, I couldn't finish it! I wanted to so badly, but I was absolutely full of greens and delightful veggies. We sat outside because our good boy, Charlie, was with us. But indoor seating is also available. Service was friendly and kind.

I really like the concept of Vale. I am able to pick and choose what I would like in my salad - the greens, the chicken, and the veggies. A small usually works for me and that's perfect. The employees are always very friendly and very helpful here. I'm glad that they have expanded their locations and are more accessible than ever! It is in a strip mall so its easy to find parking here. They have many items here with açaí bowls, poke and açaí bowls, smoothies and more. Besides cold items, they also have a hot bar. If you are gluten free, vegan or omni, this is your go to. They give a nice portion which is awesome since I think their prices are very fair compared to some other places. Give it a whirl. You can sit down or take it go.

Came here after a long day and was greeted by happy and helpful staff, good smells, and delicious bowls! Vale has a cold bar with acai bowls, smoothies, avocado toast, and poke bowls. They also have a hot bar (similar to Bolay) with high quality choices. They had mainly chicken choices for a meat, broccoli, and brussel sprouts. My favorite base is the avocado, kale, brussels salad. So good! We were able to make one standard bowl last for two dinners, they really fill you up! Healthy and filling for a great price!

Few meats to choose from and they're not that good. They should have just grilled chicken to choose from. Grill Fresh is way better.

It's okay. Super healthy choices but I guess I was expecting more because my friends hyped it up. I'll go again.

Açaí bowls are very delicious. Better than the regular food bowls. Limited to 3 toppings but still a good açaí bowl.

I like their food, but I've gotten food poisoning 3 out of 7 times. Need to tighten up food safety standards. Won't be back.

Great place for healthy food but sometimes they take forever to make the food so just call in and order.

It wasn't exactly what I was going for, but that's more on me than the place. We also got a Pick Two combo: a strawberry banana smoothie (with oat milk, banana, strawberries, flax seeds, and agave) and the Thai Chicken Crunch salad (romaine, red cabbage, roasted chicken, carrots, celery, and wontons). Everything was decent and fresh, just nothing that really stood out flavor-wise. We took everything to go since we were busy getting her room set up, and it worked for what we needed--a quick, fairly healthy option. One thing I wish they offered was a smaller portion size; everything felt a bit too much for a light lunch.

My friend and I met after we parked our bikes. She was sitting outside, and as I was locking my bike, less than a block away, she texted me. I just walked to her without responding, and with a smile and a hug, we walked in to look at the menu. The sandwiches have some very creative names that go along with their creative construction. I got a #10, which was a fusion of French dip and Philly cheese!! I wanna buy the person a beer, whoever thought of that one! Even though it was busy, we didn't wait long to order. Every sandwich comes in a paper bag, so you can take it out or stay and munch. We got a combo with chips and a drink, because how else do you eat a big sandwich like this?! There are board games to play, decor that is not typical and a big display of Guy Fieri, from the Food Network, that lets you know this place is on America's culinary map. After the sandwiches were done, I brought them out to my friend Kimberly, who was saving our table. We both were hungry, so out of the wrap and in with the teeth. Mine was full of flavor and the fact that all the sandwiches are heat-pressed, made the texture very satisfying. The au jus was thick and delicious and made me think someone took great time and effort to make it. It is a casual restaurant, great for a date or a group of friends, or a solo quick lunch, that can also be a dinner as well. The food is somewhat pricey, but it delivers as a good meal with a creative touch. They could have emptied the garbage can more quickly, as it was more than overflowing, when I went to throw the garbage away. Memorable food, and makes me want to come back to try at least two other sandwiches that I read about.

As it was summer break, a lot of the other businesses in the building were closed (Vietnamese and Italian restaurant as well as a boba place). The place looks like it was being run by a hardworking couple. We checked out the menu and my wife ordered the Gyro Platter and I ordered the Souvlaki Platter. We also ordered a couple of fountain drinks. The gyro meat was well seasoned and tender. The Greek salad was quite good. The chicken souvlaki, however, seemed to lack flavor and a bit dry. Portions were quite generous and the value was there. We actually packed our leftovers for some quesadillas later. If we do go back, I would order the gyro instead of the chicken souvlaki. Located in midtown, this appears to a fast casual place that caters towards college students. They serve "Greek" street food, salads, quesadillas, burgers, and more. The food is relatively inexpensive. Service is fine, actually the people working there are friendly. Food is made to order and comes out quickly. There is some seating available inside (it's limited) but there are plenty of tables in the hall. I ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki which included grilled chicken with tomato, onion, fries inside a pita, topped with ketchup and mustard. This was a very large portion. The pita was good, but pretty much fell apart the second I picked it up. While I liked the chicken, it was over seasoned and I didn't care for the "sauced" quality of it. I'm not sure if they marinated it or tossed it in some sauce, but it was too much. The fries were decent, but not super crispy. I felt that they were not necessarily and a little over-the-top. The tomato was fresh and but the red onion slices were very thick. The mustard and ketchup didn't work with the seasonings on the chicken. The dish was just all over the place and I couldn't even finish half of it before I started feeling sick. I ordered a side of onion rings as well. This was a large order and the size was great. But these onion rings were over-battered and were fresh, but not crispy at all. I bit into one and ended up pulling out the whole onion rings. Not good. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience. The food was so heavy and overly salted I couldn't even eat half of it. I ended up giving it to a homeless person on the way out. The food left my stomach in shambles the rest of the day. Service is fine. But the food is not desirable. It is safe to say I will not be returning, which is unfortunate.
