    Excellent Sopa's

just an update on a previous review. It's been several months since we last visited. Running late for lunch around 3 o'clock a spot we had picked out was closed so we went to plan B and came back to Valentinas. We both ordered the Combo Grande. Excellent! This is a great local spot. Give it a go. Still 5 stars for us.

    Chile Riano's omelette!

Serious delicious authentic breakfast. Only locals and the waitress was great. omelette chili relleno was very indulgent and my sweetheart had huevos rancheros. Both were inhaled.

Went for breakfast. Wow! Huevos rancheros and papas rancheros. Those sopapillas!! The tortillas just like my grandmothers. All so delicious. Warm friendly service. I'm from San Diego so I know good Mexican food. This surpasses.

    Enchiladas de Mole Rojo

This charming mom and pop restaurant has personality, amazing food, and speedy service. We were a little skeptical walking into the restaurant but was pleasantly surprised with the dishes that are served. The enchiladas de mole roja were our favorite. I'm tempted to try everything on the menu! So good.

A fine Mexican meal highlighted by excellent music by a young, very talented trio singing traditional songs passionately and well.

Breakfast burrito plate, Xmas style, so dang good! The green chili is definitely the better of the two.

I will be back. Adovada was right on; generous portions to boot. Saw the mole; looks like something worth returning to try.

Would never come back again. ============= This review got flagged by Yelp HQ, let me rewrite this and be clear of what happened. I walked into El Callejon Taqueria and Grill, located on 208 Galisteo St Santa Fe, NM 87501 on Aug 22 2026. It was on a Saturday night, right before 9pm. This was my first weekend in the city of Santa Fe, on both Yelp and Google this location shows the restaurant closes at 11pm. When I walked in the bartender told me that it was closed. I wouldn't care that a business is closed before the listed hours; it was the way the bartender went about it. He could have politely told me that the kitchen was closed, and I would not have had any problem with it. He walked up to me within arm's length and continuously repeated "sorry we are closed" multiple times while getting closer to me. It was one of the worst experiences I have had to get escorted "asked" out of a restaurant. The experience was not good. To be clear I never get to try the food here.

Kind and quick - Parking: onsite lot, gets very crowded Came to Tomasita's on a Monday night while visiting my friend in Santa Fe. They don't take reservations and although it was very busy we were seated within 10 minutes. My friends raved about the "swirl" margaritas (Santa Fe classic, apparently) so we got a frozen margarita flight. We were able to adjust the drinks in the flight- they even made me a frozen spicy margarita although that wasn't technically on the menu. Very helpful wait staff. We shared the flautas and loaded nachos. Both were rich but fantastic. We asked for both with a side of green chiles (highly recommend). The flautas came with sopaipillas which were fresh, soft and YUMMY. (They even brought two more when we asked!) This is a vibrant place to come for special occasions or even a nice family dinner. Highly recommend especially if you're visiting!

Another pretty great find…read more.. An unforgettable dining experience at Sazón in Santa Fe with the legendary Chef Fernando Olea, a James Beard Award winner. Meeting the chef made the evening even more special! We enjoyed the incredible Pulpo, the famous Sopa de Amor, crispy Pork Belly, the unforgettable Enmolado de Pato (Muscovy duck with sweet potatoes and Chef Olea's signature mole), and ended with the iconic Dulce Sinfonía dessert. Every dish was a masterpiece of flavor, artistry, and passion. If you're visiting Santa Fe, Sazón belongs at the top of your list. Wonderful Ambiance! Hmmm...food was not as impressive as the first time. This…read morewas our second time at Sazon--my partner brought me here for a surprise birthday dinner. The atmosphere is upscale and beautiful--love the decor and artwork. The service was on point; our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food this time was just ok, except for the Sopa de Amor: Chef Olea's signature soup--that was heaven in our mouths. The steak (Popocatepetl: spicy black pepper crusted aged angus beef tenderloin / red cabbage and snow peas in cilantro vinaigrette / jasmine rice) we shared looked nothing like the description. Either our server was clueless regarding gluten-free, because this wasn't up to our standards for a high-end restaurant--the flavor wasn't the same as we remembered from several years ago, and the steak (medium rare) inside was colder--not room temperature, so I ended up not eating all of mine. Plus we had to ask for rice--which should have come with our meal since there isn't flour or any ingredients that would have made this harmful to me. Also, the side of asparagus it came with wasn't bright green and crispy--it was yellowish and flimsy-looking and tasting. For the price, this should have been more on point than what it was. We had split a steak, shared a soup, had a bottle of wine, two glasses of champagne, and a dessert--oh, and a $12 split change (something they suggested--even though my partner and I were fine eating from the same plate)...the bill was almost $400 with tax & tip. The dessert however, was presented beautifully with mixed berries and a liquor which was then lit on fire--a festive dessert option since I have a gluten allergy. There are so many wonderful restaurants. Unfortunately, the food did not leave us craving to come back for more. If the service and decor wasn't so impressive, Sazon would have received one stars.
