I took my dress from them and came back to speak to the owner where I was then YELLED AT and harassed. I was in their store crying, pleading, trying to show them photos but they wouldn't have it. The woman put me on the phone with a male who I can only assume was the other owner who called me a liar multiple times and said that I was trying to scam them! Absolutely HORRIBLE. You should never treat someone like that, EVER. Then on my wedding day, noticed that my connecting bustle attachments were missing.

I dropped off 25 dinner napkins to be dry cleaned and pressed on Monday, March 17. I told the woman who is working behind the counter that I didn't need these in a rush, so she gave me a ticket and said you can come by next Monday to pick these up. It honestly didn't cross my mind to inquire how much it would cost to get 25 dinner, napkins, pressed and laundered ... I've used many other dry cleaners in the past and thought the cost would be reasonable. Yesterday, on Monday March 25th, the day my dry cleaning ticket said to come and pick up, I walked in and the woman behind the counter said my stuff wasn't supposed to be done until Wednesday. Had I had my dry cleaning ticket on me, I would've showed it to her and said we discussed it being done on Monday. I said, OK I'll be back on Wednesday to pick these up and oh by the way, how much will this cost? She tells me it's gonna be $250.00 to have these dinner napkins cleaned and pressed. Had there not been anyone in the store behind me, I would have had a more serious conversation about why I felt that Price was unreasonable and why was I not given an advance notice of the cost? In all fairness, I could have asked the first time I was there or done more research into this ... however, I believe that we sometimes don't ask these questions because we are familiar with experience and accustomed to a standard price. Out of the 25 napkins that I brought over, only four of them had stains. All of the napkins were from the local Angelview thrift store which I purchased for less than $20 for all of them. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the store to pick up my napkins for $250 total . So, in retrospect , absolutely ask for a price before leaving your garments at this location and hold them to the date they promised, especially when it is a week away from the date you dropped off. The fact that this woman behind the counter are printed me a ticket that said pick up on Monday the 24th and when the 24th came, she completely gaslight me and looked at me as if I were stupid to tell me to come back on Wednesday, I was sort of beside myself that I was being lied to so matter of factly. There are so many dry cleaners in the area, so don't feel as if you absolutely have to go to this place . In fact, because of this experience, I will go out of my way to recommend any other place besides this.

Wow I've always fully enjoyed Valentines Laundromat. From the get go too present. The moment you walk in & I'm talking all the time not just with this Covid epidemic going on ! They've always been so Clean in every way. I still remember the very first time . I hadn't been to the laundromat in ages. I was very nervous didn't know if I'd remember how to do all this coin & button stuff. Funny too say that but unfortunately true. As for the Staff there very friendly My first I counter was Marcy she Immediately greeted me & came over after I finally got settled & showed me the in's & outs of the facility which for me was a relief because I was besides myself remember it was my first time in a very long time .I'm talking about years. She just was so attentive to helping me .I guess she noticed that I was in need of help & she was just very polite in Informing me on how machines worked & the amounts. It made it so much easier for me. After that it was a breeze. And after that I felt so at ease. Cause now I knew what I was doing . Not only that but if I ever had a problem with a machine the staff is always available & is quick to fix the situation. I love this place. The other day I came apond a situation that was totally out of my control. After I finished with my laundry. I went home & late that night proceeded to put my clothes away as I was almost finished. I started to notice that I was missing quite a bit of clothes. Then I really started to certain pieces of my clothes I was missing. Well to my dismay. I became very nervous & upset. Thinking how could I have left some of my clothes .But then I came to the realization that oh well what can I do there's no since in getting all upset over something I have no control over. And I thought all I can do is call early the next day. And see if they still have it. Well I did just that Spoke to the Owner Karen & She said that Iris was on staff yesterday this is the number give her a call. So I did & Immediately she said yes that there was a dryer left with clothes in it . I Immediately went over to pick them up. And not only that but the owner gave me a courtesy call to see if I had been taken care of . Wow was I blown away in the quality of Service that was shown to me. But that is how they do things there .They take great pride in the Service they give there customers .And I really appreciate there Service. Anywhere else my clothes would have been thrown out. End of story. I know I'm safe & so our my items at this place. Thank you Valentines Laundromat for all that you do. I was putting off going to the laundrymat to wash outside patio items, Chaise lounge cushions, pillows and daybed toppe/cushion covers, but I put it off too long so today was the day. This may be funny to some, but Im not comfortable in a laundrymat because I don't know what I'm doing, since I normally wash clothes at home. But a friendly staff member at Valentines must've saw my face when I walked in the door and they responded with a friendly smile and offered to help, which she did throughiut the entire process. Her name is Marcy and before I knew it my anxiety went away. Thank you. Marcy! It's so great to meet people that enjoy what that do and go out of their way to help a customer. I give Valentines and Marcy 5 stars. Adding on to this review.... As I was starting to empty the Washer i noticed what looked like sort curly brown hair coming out with my items. Marcy warned me that pillows could break open, but Never saw stuffing that looked like this and it was everywhere. As customers watched, and I can only imagine what they thought. Maggie came to my rescue this time, so sweet and helpful. I asked for broom and said I would clean it up but she insisted she will take care of it. She asked if I wanted to put some of my other items in a drier but at this point I just wanted to get out of there. We laughed as I proclaimed " what kind of stuffing is tbis and where did I get that pillow??? I asked her to take a picture because my spouse wasnt going to believe me. Larry, you are a great person and an excellent business owner. My wife and I were on a road trip across the western US and needed to do laundry so we found this place and gave it a go. Its CLEAN, its CONVENIENT, its got everything I need and the best part of all is how genuinely caring Larry is about his customers. There's plenty of space to sit down while you wait and plenty of folding stations. I had accidentally messed up a setting on the washing machine and when Larry saw my confused face, he came over and asked if I needed any help. Guess what he did, took the coins out of the machine, gave them back to me, and told me that their goal is to make sure I'm happy. This was AFTER I had finished washing the load. AMAZING! Thank you Larry! Thank you Karen, thank you everyone who works there. I wish you continued success and prosperity, and with the way you treat your customers, that will definitely come. By the way, that single negative review on here is apparently from the other laundromat .. i.e. their competition. My job requires me to travel all over the country and although hotel laundries are convenient I really don't care for exorbitant fees they charge, so I use Laundromat's when I travel. On a recent trip to the Palm Desert area I found Valentine Laundry online, it wasn't the closest to where I was staying but I liked what I saw on their website. I have to say this is one of the nicest laundry's I've been to, and I've been to many. Clean facility, probably the best machines I've ever used, and a friendly staff. I stopped at Albertson's before I went to the laundry to get soap and softener because I seem to always have issues with the dispensers. I spoke to a woman that was sitting by me about dispensers, she said she's a local and uses this laundry once a week and always uses the dispensers for her soap and has never had any problems with them. I actually saw quite a few people using them while I was there. Next time I'm in town I'll use their dispensers my soap as I can see from the quality and care of the maintenance of this facility and their equipment is top notch. I don't see that much in many of the Laundromats I've been to! FIVE stars from do my own laundry traveler. read more

First of all, let me start off by saying I have been going to this laundry mat for several months now. Every single time I walk into this laundry mat, I don't even have both feet in the door and either Iris (manager) or Karen (owner) are there with a smile on their faces greeting me! They are the sweetest ladies. The place is spotless. They go above and beyond. And their prices are very decent! Let's face it ladies and gents, Doing laundry sucks... but I thoroughly enjoy going to Valentine Laundry because I know for a fact I will walk out of there with a smile on my face! Especially right now through these difficult times they are risking their health and their family's health and well being to be there for us who absolutely need them. SO WHAT IF THEIR RESTROOMS ARE CLOSED, BE HAPPY THE LAUNDRY MAT IS OPEN! Even though we don't want to admit it sometimes, laundry is essential and so is Valentine Laundry along with Iris and Karen. A little hard to find, but worth the hunt! Valentine Laundry (we have not used the dry cleaning service) is a breath of fresh air in the coin laundry business. When we arrived a gentleman was doing a very thorough job of cleaning the place, top to bottom. We found ALL of the machines in working order, the place was clean (even has clean restroom!!!!), brightly lit, and inviting! There is always (apparently) an attendant because of the dry cleaning service and wash & fold service, which we really appreciate. There are WORKING soap dispensers and WORKING(!) change machines and a nice collection of magazines and books to spend time with. The machines worked well and the dryers were quick without overheating. There is a supermarket in the complex, so you could do shopping while the machines run. The manager was very gracious and helpful and greeted many of the (regular?) users by name. We can only say that THIS is how a coin-laundry should be run. We'll be back! read more

Having traveled extensively throughout the United States for work over the past 25 years, I have been to many Laundromats. Valentine Laundry on Washington St. in Palm Desert is by far and away one of the best I have ever experienced. The facility is clean with plenty of washers and dryers and all of them in working order, (a rarity with most other facilities I have been in). In addition, they have a multitude of laundry carts, (also a rarity with most other facilities I have been in). The outside parking lot area is well lit with plenty of parking. But the MOST significant area of my experience today, (Sept. 28th 2015) has to have been the staff. IRIS was very pleasant and helpful as I had never been to this location before. If you are looking for a "Top Notch" Laundromat in the Palm Desert area, or in the greater Coachella Valley for that matter, I highly recommend Valentine Laundry. I am so glad I was able to find this place! I was working out in Indio and ended up getting stuck a day longer than planned and needed to get my laundry done and I called Valentine Laundry and the Owner answered the phone and I explained my situation and told me to bring my clothes over and see Iris and that they would get them done for me. I drove over and saw Iris and she was very helpful and pleasant. She took my clothes weighed them and said by the way the owner told me to give you a discount because she enjoyed speaking with you. I couldn't ask for anything else, found a place at the last minute, everyone very pleasant to deal with and a discount to boot! Iris said she would give a call around 8:30pm and she did, got there around 9 and everything was folded and good to go! Once in awhile now, the personal service is so outstanding that I just have to sit down and tell everyone about it. Valentine Laundry has hired some (more than just 1) of the nicest people who actually work at assisting you. Their attitudes melt you heart....they are eager to please and in times of Needing a favor, they will make the effort to finish your job early. Iris is one of their top notch employees......Attitude is everything and she definitely has it! By the way, their pricing is fair too. I never used to go to the laundry, but now we take our large, bulky items there. They are handed back to us professionally wrapped, smelling clean and twice a gentleman there, carried it out to the car for me.....He OFFERED! Valentine Laundry is without a doubt my favorite place to do laundry in the Coachella Valley. It's always clean, the service here is extremely friendly, and I've never had anything but a pleasant experience. Whether you'd rather be left alone to handle your laundry needs without interruption, I recommend headphones, or if you're like me and you don't mind some conversation, the staff here is usually more than happy to have a conversation, or simply just ask how you are doing. I've been a regular customer here on and off over the past twelve years, and I'll keep coming back. Not even just for the laundromat, but for the staff. I'm a big fan of people that remember me, and even ask me how I've been. I can't express enough how I wish people in the city treated each other with more respect, and decency. 10/10 would recommend. I have been coming to Valentine Laundry for a year now...every week. It has been the best experience I've had as far as laundromats go. I hate lugging my laundry to an outside location but at least Valentine Laundry is a pleasant experience. I am offended by the rude comment below and really hope no one takes that seriously and purposely don't go to this laundromat for your needs. It is ALWAYS clean, ALWAYS helpful staff, nice and cool (UNLIKE OTHERS IN THE AREA) and certainly doesn't smell bad. I know they recently changed something in their A/C vents and warn the customers if they smell something, it's just the A/C burning off old dust or something for a few weeks....but I've never smelled anything. Great music always playing, machines work well, friendly clientele and always a great experience. I'm grateful for this laundry location! read more

A couple of weeks ago I was visiting Palm Desert for a few days having been provided a condo, by close friends,for the week. On the day that I was flying home I wanted to clean sheets, pillow cases and other laundry from the condo prior to my 11am departure back to Portland, Oregon. I had a lot of last minute things on my mind to accomplish, laundry being one of many. Iris introduced herself to me and apparently recognizing my confused look, she took pity. She basically helped me in every facet of the cleaning/drying & folding process with a pleasantness that was incredible. I was concerned I would be late for my flight home and she took the anxiety out of my chore that provided me with a great deal of comfort and anxiety. Valentine Laundry is a very clean, well maintained facility. One would never want to wash their clothes in a dirty facility. Appearance is very important. I have been going there for about two years. I do, however, have them do the washing for me, and I own a washer and dryer. They weigh your clothes, and you are charged by the pound. Iris works there, and she is phenomenal. At pick up, my clothes are very clean and folded professionally like new. Iris is a very personable, hardworking, lady. She answers all questions and keeps the place spotless. She is a major asset to that establishment. She is the main reason I continue going there. Whichever of the ladies working there assists you, a tip is always a nice thank you. Great place to do your laundry!!! I met the owner Karen who is absolutely wonderful and the manager Hely. They open early Sunday - Thurs at 6:30 l, which is awesome for me because I work nights. I forgot to bring clean laundry bags and Karen generously offered me a BOGO for this big, super strong bag which I readily accepted it. Every machine I looked at as I walked around was clean and in working order. The floor was clean, as were the stainless steel folding tables. Washes start at $2.50 which I'm cool with when everything is clean and working. This is the first place I've taken my laundry since I stopped going to the place by my job in Indio. That's been about 2 years. I'm so happy I found this laundromat, I'll be coming here every couple weeks!!! read more

I was so amazed about how clean Valentine Laundry in Palm Desert is. My experience was very good. Before I began to wash a load of my dirty clothes, an employee Named Hely, was helpful enough to show me where to get my change, so hat set the tone. Hely notified me of what services Valentine Laundry offered. Valentine offers to wash your clothes for you and me being a busy man that's a good Concept, of course on this visit I didn't use this service, but I did buy a Small Laundry Bag, so when I come back I will bring my soiled clothes in the bag I bought here and I will definitely use this service. I have been coming to this laundromat over 5 years and since COVID19 I thought they would be closed But thank goodness they have been open! And keeping the laundry always nice and clean! No smells of chemicals. In other words has no stench whatsoever. The employees here are so sweet and so kind, Always so welcoming. They are reasonable due to COVID19. Doo go in today to do some laundry and this guy as I'm walking in is staring at me not just a glance but a creepy weird stare. I go in to get some change before I do my laundry and he proceeds to walk over to me and asks me if I'm doing laundry??? Like wtf do you think I'm here to do other than laundry? Our second visit and not because it's convenient or close to home, but rather the cleanliness and helpful staff; Iris. She approached us almost immediately as we entered and guided us to the proper equipment, then followed up throughout. Excellent customer service. On our way home I insisted she had to think I was Larry in disguise filming "Undercover Boss." So, the next time we had an issue that required larger washers we drove over to Valentine Laundry and there she was... Iris. Helpful and knowledgeable as ever and proving me wrong; an employee I want working for me. It was three months between visits and she remembered us -- impressive. We will be back. read more

Amazing service. During this whole corona craziness the place was kept spotless. I wasn't at all weary about being in there. Iris had the place gleaming and making sure that everyone was at a distance to protect everyone and still allow them to keep on doing by the things we have to do. I needed comforters cleaned and Iris took care of them and I had them back within a few hours. She is professional and so friendly. I had to ask her if it was her place because the pride she takes in making it perfect is only the work ethic of an owner but I guess I was wrong. When it was still in operation you could also buy snacks and cans of soft drinks for only 50 cents from their vending machines! Really cool. I miss Thrifty Wash. As of this review im standing outside Washtime Laundry in Palm Springs dejected with nowhere to go at 10pm (Their last wash was at 945). Im cold, Im alone, and my clothes are soiled. Oh, how I miss you, Thrifty Wash! For all of us late night launderers out there, sadly we are left behind searching endlessly, scampering about with dirty clothes in the dark. . * * * *

I was visiting from out of town and had a bunch of appointments. When my washing machine acted up, the nice lady on staff assured me should would take care of it. While I went to my appointments, she did my laundry. When I came to retrieve my clothes, they were neatly folded and wrapped in plastic. That woman is a keeper!

Claim to open at 8 but I left almost 10 minutes later with nobody inside. You would think somebody…read morewould be there earlier than 8 if they open at 8. I tried. This is my first impression so I won't be coming back. Inside looks almost abandoned with barely anything in there. Serious concerns about this place, but I guess it won't be my problem.

It happened again this morning, which is why I'm putting this review online I actually changed the location of Jonathan's that I use from Rancho Mirage to Fred Waring because I never know when this shop will open in the morning. I thought I would give them another chance this morning because I'm not heading over to Fred Waring but once again they did not open at 8 AM. Extremely frustrating!
