Love coming to Valentine for a nice drink and breakfast sandwich! Any time I've had a latte here it's been good but I love my matcha lattes even more. This place has a very cool chill vibe and there's tons of seating if you wanna get some work done or just relax. I've introduced many people to this spot and so far everyone has been impressed (; the shop next door is cool too if you wanna shop around afterwards, might thrift something cool! Great service and the guys in the back whipping up the food in the kitchen are always killing it and having a good time! Love to see it!

My husband and I dined at Valentine on a Saturday evening and it was packed. I would recommend making reservations. Overall, I would rate the food 3.8 stars. It was good, but not good enough to return for dinner. I *might* consider trying the brunch menu, since there's better reviews for it. We started with a couple mocktails: I got the mango lassi and my husband ordered the matcha melon. We both enjoyed our own drinks better than each others. The mango lassi was more yogurt-y than mango, and had a hint of lime. The matcha melon was more match-y than melon. Both were refreshing. We ordered the famous pretzel which came out hot and fresh. It's sort of a cross over between a pretzel and a donut as it was on the sweeter side. It came with whipped butter and honeycomb which was a great combo. This tasted more like a dessert than an appetizer, but I enjoyed it. We also ordered the octopus, bison tartare, and elote pasta. Everything was pretty good but it was so salty, especially the octopus. Nothing was outstanding though. We ordered the charred cabbage which took so long to come out that I thought our server forgot about it. When it finally arrived, it just looked straight up burnt. The inside was a little better, but when I took a bite, it tasted like ocean water. It's as if it was brined in salt for 24+ hours which is really excessive for cabbage. We asked our server to take it back since we only had one bite each. I do not recommend ordering this. Our server took awhile to give us our check. But it turns out, she surprised us with the gulab jamun dessert, which was nice. I enjoyed the cardamom ice cream but the gulab jamun (fried dough balls) were too dense and sweet. There were some hits and misses, but overall, I don't know if the hits were good enough for me to return.

Been here several times now and I'm obsessed! The pastries are always incredible and fresh, get there early on the weekend because they sell out! Coffees are unique and delicious without being too sweet. Quiche is incredible. Everyone is always so nice, casual vibe, definitely one of our fave weekend brunch spots!

Yuca & potato pave

Overall, food was too salty and overcome by strong sauce flavors that took over flavors rather than supporting the main ingredients. Kind service and loud atmosphere. - Best part of the meal was the hatch-yuzu lemonade as it had great balance of sweet, citrus, SMOKY, and salted margarita like flavor. - octopus: nice char and was tender, but wayyyy too much overwhelming aioli that would've been better as a side, like the charred cabbage. Would've been nice to dip the aioli as the other ingredients became smothered in it, and the aioli was too salty - charred cabbage: the sauce was on the side and had an appetizing citrus, but the cabbage itself was way too salty, like it was brined & steamed to make it tender From here on out, we asked the following dishes to be less salty, but with the trend of the previous dishes, my salty threshold was already passed - yuca & potato pave: initially tasty when warm and over time became greasy. Too much cream for me, but overall the yuca & potato was good flavor - trout: first bite was salty but subsequent flavors were less salty with overall strong flavors. Would benefit with a bit more jicama or rice to balance out

Delicious food, amazing ambience and great service! What more can you ask? We went the vegetarian route- charred cabbage and the potato pave were our stars. The lemonade is more spicy than sweet and I wish I had gotten the cooler instead. We sat outside, the weather was great yesterday and didn't need the heater. If you're in phoenix enjoy this place. Is there a speakeasy right behind ;)

It's been a while since I let out this many "WOW"s during a meal! Everything we ordered was unique and satisfying (including drinks), and I love that they seriously feature local ingredients. I'm only in town for a few days and already considering dedicating another meal here ... that's how good it was! My only minor complaint was that the elote pasta was (extremely tasty but) way too salty. I get how fancy dishes sometimes salt over the top to make the flavors pop, but this was honestly too much. I still enjoyed it regardless!

Pro-tip: Really hard to find parking, you'll have to park in the neighborhoods. Highlights: They had a very unique and creative menu. I was especially blown away by their pastry display and wish I could've tried everything. While I thought the food we ordered for brunch was just OK, there are pastries had really great texture and the drinks that my party got were all delicious and special. Lowlights: We didn't have the best service while we were here. We'd ask for something and it would never come until the second or third time we asked for it things like to go boxes or a missing setting.

Good food experience overall. Definitely a date night spot. My favorites were the elote pasta and the octopus. These are the two I would definitely come back here for. The octopus was cooked nicely, charred but with a nice soft texture and the aioli it came with was delicious. Elote pasta was so good that I could probably eat a whole serving by myself. It was like another version of cacio e pepe--a light and cheesy sauce and had crispy corn mixed in. The other food was all good too. The trout was cooked nicely. Cabbage was flavorful. Steak was solid and the tortillas and salsa verde paired well. The smoked chicken was good but not as exciting as expected--kinda like a rotisserie chicken with tzatziki. Their gulab jamun was pretty unique, I thought the orange flavor went well with the cardamom ice cream. Place is dimly lit at night and very aesthetic. The service was fine although I didn't appreciate our server's comment after we put our order in: "Wow you guys are hungry." Kinda odd for him to say that, especially since I thought we ordered appropriately and we did finish all the food. Heads up: Parking was hard since spots are limited--we luckily found a spot in the neighborhood behind.

Food was thoughtful and ingredients are well-sourced and honor arizona's food profile. The octopus and elote pasta were the stars tonight. I also liked the gulab jamun dessert, especially the cardamom ice cream and orange peel that came with it. On the other hand, the chicken was a really underwhelming plate, really simple seasoning and the sauce was just tzatziki. the steak was solid, but also pretty simple, just a salsa verde on top. The beans that came with it were also salty; tortillas were fantastic tho. The cabbage was pretty good, but the passionfruit coconut yogurt sauce was too tart and overpowering. The trout was cooked beautifully with a delicious rice under it, but was overshadowed by an excessive amount of dill. The server did make a comment which we didnt really like hearing; after we ordered he said "oh, so guys are *hungry*. We ordered 2 apps and 4 entrees for four people, and to be honest it wasn't even excessive for the four of us. He insisted we would have leftovers but we finished it just fine. Service was a little short and uninvolved, but sometimes it's a busy or hard day so I get it. The server nicely comped our dessert for my dad's birthday. Restaurant was well decorated, pretty, and dark. Love the vibe here.

Pinon Croissant

There were so many options for coffees and food. We got empanada, squash sticky bun, and pinon croissant, empanada might be my favorite, cause the sweet pastry were all on the sweeter side, it's hard to eat a whole pastry alone. The steak and eggs was good but not too special, considering the price of food. The special latte we ordered were too sweet too. I'll say they were all pricy, but the environment and service was good.

This place is definitely a hit or miss. I like their pastries--especially the pain au chocolat--but the actual food menu is just okay. Unfortunately for us Phoenicians, we don't have many Resy options, and the quarterly Amex dining credit basically forces us to eat out more than we need to... which is how we ended up here again. I started with an espresso martini that was actually pretty good--real coffee flavor instead of that sugary artificial stuff. Hubby went simple with an iced tea. I ordered their "featured" fried chicken and caviar. Supposedly Siberian caviar, but I wouldn't know because I couldn't taste a single thing. The eggs didn't even look good, and whatever they used must've been questionable because they hid it under a blanket of sauce. Completely smothered. Zero caviar flavor. What a waste. The fried chicken itself was fine, but the portion was so tiny that for a second I thought I'd been teleported back to Amsterdam. LOL. Hubby's steak and eggs were definitely the better choice--8oz dry-aged flank steak with two eggs, porky beans, and salsa verde. Hearty, flavorful, and exactly what I wish I'd ordered. Next time, that's the move. We grabbed a few bakery items to go, which were solid. The pain au chocolat is the standout here. I'd skip the croissant, though--Essence Bakery & Cafe easily wins that category. Total exluding the bakery items just for the meal at the table came to $110 including tip.

Came here a second time for dinner and gotta say their dinner dishes were so good! I would say the scallop crudo threw me off a little bit because this combination was a bit odd - scallop, asparagus, melon, and radish. Some bites were a bit citrusy but some were not, which was a little confusing. But the rest of the dishes were soooo good! The steak was lean but tender, the pasta was creamy and not too heavy. And love the dessert, especially the sorbet on top - really flavorful and refreshing. I'm not a fan of cilantro, but the lime cilantro granita in the middle was acceptable to me. Also love the night vibe at the restaurant! It's a great place to hang out for a weekend night!

Valentine was a perfect date night spot. The ambiance was amazing and the service was spot on. Started with the pretzel and OMG, it is a must when visiting. The honey with the pretzel stole the show. Our main entrees were the fish and the elote pasta, both amazing and seasoned to perfection. Prices were fair, especially given the local experience you get here.

GOOD! inspired by taco bell's baja blast hahahah). they TREATED us to all three of their current desserts on the menu. it was the most pleasant surprise i could've imagined. my favorite was the flourless chocolate cake! it was like a thick, rich brownie, had passion fruit cream to "lighten it up" and a caramel-like taffy on the bottom my brother and sister-in-law both said their favorite was the gulab jamun (which is basically like little fried dough balls/donuts, influenced by indian flavors and spices). the mille-feuille was also fantastic - the pastry was light and airy, cream wasn't too sweet and also very light, shaved cheese on top made it have a savory bite, and the jam alongside it was strawberry rhubarb. service is always amazing, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; it seems like everybody working here truly enjoys it. quite literally already have a reservation booked at valentine and will be coming back here beforehand. update: came back for more drinks (fernet & coke, spaghett western, negroni) and their lamb flauta. all AMAZING! and amazing order to whet the appetite before dinner at valentine.

Regardless, we gave it another shot and we were much happier the next go around. Record players in the corner and a fireplace on the opposite side of this dimly lit bar created a cozy vibe on a chilly Saturday night. We arrived right at opening and the bar filled up quickly but the volume still made it easy to have a conversation and still have an intimate night out. The drinks, this time, well balanced and delicious. My wife had the the Pantera Rosa and I had the Last Word. Both were delicious and not overly sweet. I love a good "Last Word" but the tea added a welcome and subtle layer. A nicely created cocktail without shaming the original. Servers were attentive, constantly filling up water, and making sure we were well taken care of. We will be back!

Honestly, everything stood on its own without needing wine. The carrot dip, paired with a great selection of vegetables, was a refreshing way to start. As someone who loves sweet potatoes, the sweet potato with green harissa is a must-order. We'd never had chips with serrano ham before, but they were surprisingly addictive and disappeared fast. The highlights of the meal were the duck breast and the pissaladière (puff pastry with anchovies). The duck was tender and flavorful, and the pissaladière was a standout. Who knew anchovies on pastry could be that good? We ended with the ricotta cake with poached pears, which was light and not overly sweet. It reminded me more of European or Asian cheesecake than the dense, sugary American style. The ambiance is chic and thoughtful, with great use of color. Loved the details, from the tiles to the furniture to the typography. Service was excellent, and it felt like the founding team was actively running the place. It's the kind of restaurant that makes getting dressed up feel exciting and worth it, and I absolutely loved that about the experience. Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight.
