Then we made our way downstairs for a Medi-inspired feast! Wine was flowing and we ate everything from raw oysters, tuna crudo, chicken and salmon kebobs, roasted carrots, broccolini, olive oil whipped potatoes, and burnt basque cheesecake... The restaurant week menu made it very simple to be able to try a little of everything and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and made very good recommendations on cocktails. We enjoyed our recent experience at FLINT. We made a reservation on the earlier side on a Saturday night and it was surprisingly quite. The interior is beautiful and comfortable; and valet is free so it was easy to park. Our server was great; very attentive and did a through job of explaining how the menu works. Food came out quick and it everything was great. I wouldn't say anything knocked us off our feet, but it was all consistently good. We split the roasted cauliflower, the short rib hummus (our favorite), the burrata, the lamb meatballs, one chicken kabab, and the fried chicken. They coursed everything out perfectly. Drinks were also tasty; dessert was a miss. We ordered the olive oil pound cake and it was very dry. BUT, our sweet server noticed I was pregnant and brought us a free donut dessert as a congratulations. It was incredibly kind of him and it made up for the pound cake. Went for the mother's day brunch earlier today with my family. Overall, most of the food options were pretty good. The prime rib and rack of lamb were both cooked perfect medium rare and good meat quality. And the oysters, shrimp and crab claws were all delicious and pretty fresh. In addition, the other brunch offerings had fried chicken, biscuits and gravy which were all delicious, as well as a decent charcuterie board and pastry options. Service was also overall pretty good, the servers were very friendly and quick to accommodate requests. Only negatives were that initially the floor around one of the seats was pretty wet and had a lot of breadcrumbs, had to call a server to clean it up. Also the second issue was that the online brunch menu had listed jonah crab claws, but when we got there they only had snow crab claws available. We did mention it to the staff at the end and they acknowledged the mistake, and made things right by offering something to make up for it, so major props to them when they didnt have to do anything. Overall a good experience and would definitely come back sometime for dinner or happy hour. read more

First time here and I was impressed! Complimentary valet is a great perk since parking in the Biltmore area can be limited. The space is beautifully decorated, casual yet upscale, and it smells amazing inside. Came with my team for happy hour and tried the oysters, margarita pizza, hummus, and Moroccan fried chicken dishes on their happy hour menu. Everything was delicious! Their happy hour is definitely the best way to sample some of their menu and drinks since regular prices are higher. Service was a little slow (only one server/bartender at 4pm on a Monday), but our server was attentive, and it truly wouldn't have made sense to have another server on at the time. Love this place so much! My friends took me here for my birthday, and I am obsessed. I love the interior, it's modern yet cozy, and I really like the bar area with couch sittings. My husband and I came by here yesterday because we are interested in having my 60th birthday party on the rooftop. The rooftop was closed but it still looks like a place that I would like to have my 60th birthday party for approximately 40 to 50 people. The atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice! We decided to have a late lunch while we were there. We split the Little Gem Caesar salad and it was outstanding! The six minute egg is what put it over the top. My husband had the lamb lettuce wraps, and he thought they were excellent. I did taste the lamb and it was very good! I had the blackened salmon. It also came with this very spicy sauce on the side that I thoroughly enjoyed. However, I would've liked the salmon to be cooked with a little bit more seasoning. When I think of black and seasoning it should be spicy. I could barely taste any salt or pepper on the salmon without the side of sauce. Also, my salmon was a bit overcooked. I liked my salmon to be cooked medium, and it was medium well almost well. I forgot to take a picture of it. The bartender, who was also our server, told me that the chef was not satisfied with the way. The first salmon came out so he did a second one and brought that one to me. Personally, I thought it was just a tad overcooked. I'm hoping to hear back from their LA representative regarding my 60th birthday party. I really do want to have it here because I like the venue and the food was good despite my salmon being overcooked and a tad on the bland side. I have this every time I come here. I'll put this up against any gourmet burger in town. Fries to match. 100/10 Cauli- charred well, tasty, good bite, a bit on the salty side Short rib hummus - it's more short rib than hummus, but hearty and tender. MFC - brined, good crust, juicy, goes great with the harissa. It's good but I'd honestly skip it. Lamb cavatelli - 10/10. Fresh made pasta made perfectly al dente, lab ragu will put you to sleep. This was my second time back. Diego and Shantel were our bartenders, both friendly and professional. They went out of their way to be accommodating. For dinner we shared the Spanish Octopus, Lamb pasta, oysters, Kebabs with filet mignon and chicken. The chicken was the highlight of the night. Celebrated hubby's birthday at FLINT last night and it did not disappoint! We arrived 30 min early hoping to have a drink Upstairs, which was unortunately closed, but we were able to have a seat at the bar instead. They had a great list of HH drinks and we both settled on the Spicy Margarita. I ordered mine virgin and fully expected the tequila to just be omitted but was pleasantly surprised they actually had a non alcoholic tequila to substitute. The drink was delicious with just the right amount of heat and tang. Once we got to our table, we were promptly greeted by our server. Not long after, they brought out a personalized card for my husband signed by the hosts and some complimentary champagne to celebrate. Neither of us are big champagne drinkers but found ourselves really enjoying the glasses and this was a thoughtful touch. We ultimately decided on just sharing a handful of dishes and everything was amazing. We started with a 1/2 dozen East Coast Oysters, the Moroccan Fried Chicken, the Grilled Spanish Octopus and Grilled Artichoke and the Margherita Pizza. The oysters were fresh and had a wonderful cucumber mignonette; the chicken was incredibly crispy and the tahini ranch and harissa sauces were the perfect compliment; the octopus was not my favorite (but simply because I'm not a big octopus person) however my husband devoured it and found it perfectly cooked; the artichoke was wonderful and the lemon tarragon aioli was perfect for dipping and the pizza can't be beat, a pillowy yet chewy crust and the tomato sauce and basil just pair so well together. The finishing touch was the not one, but two complimentary desserts they brought: basque cheesecake with a cherry sauce and cardamom sugar dusted doughnuts with a Turkish coffee cream. The cheesecake was decadent but not overly sweet and the doughnuts fluffy and that coffee cream was divine. The aesthetic of the whole place is modern, upscale, and coastal. The perfect place for a date night, a celebration, or even just a casual get together with friends. Also the complimentary valet is a great touch. I cannot recommend FLINT enough! read more

Came here for happy hour on Friday with a friend before catching a movie. FYI happy hour is only at the bar. They have a great happy hour menu which is why I wouldn't give less than 3 stars as I would likely return but with adjusted expectations. Maybe it was an off night I'm not sure but the service was not great we were checked on all of 2 times during our hour and a half at the bar and that's with 3 bartenders working. We got a last minute reservation and showed up about 10 minutes early. They were very nice and seated as immediately in the dining patio, which is a lovely room with a ceiling that opens. We ordered: *Espresso Martinis *House-made Rum--so smooth! *Classic hummus topped with Lebanese salad and served with fluffy pita bread. Then forgot to bring plates and utensils back. Dishes took awhile to come out as well. Asked for another bottle of wine and had to remind the staff. Wasn't given opportunity to taste second bottle before it was poured. A noticeably problematic service. - Chilled Shrimp, 5pcs, $24 (5*) I was just expecting shrimp cocktail, but they added some herbs and pickled vegetables to this that really elevated the shrimp. It didn't even need the dipping sauces. This was one of the highlights of the evening. - Oysters, 1doz, $48 (5*) Shucked cleanly, great flavor. - Artichoke Hummus, $15 (3*) Really tasty hummus. The artichokes kind of felt like an afterthought and not well incorporated into the dish. The pita was also a little dry/ bordering stale? - Grilled Swordfish, $42 (4*) Swordfish grilled beautifully. Seasoned well. Every bite was delicious. Only reason this isn't 5* is the Israeli couscous was overly salty. - Roasted Carrots, $10 (4*) Loved the glaze and the feta. The carrots were just a tad undercooked. - Grilled Asparagus, $12 (5*) Citrus vinaigrette added a nice punch. Wonderfully thick spears. And peeled. Such a critical step that many places overlook. - Grilled Broccolini, $10 (5*) Crunchy, just the right amount of salt. - Olive Oil Pound Cake, $12 (3*) A little dry. - Warm Donuts, $12 (3*) A little heavy. - Value (3*) The oysters, hummus, and donuts felt a tad expensive. TLDR: we were aggressively oversold and received slow unfriendly service. Food is good and the ambience is nice, but the service was bad. My fiancée and I wanted to celebrate our recent engagement and were really excited to eat here. We were greeted after waiting a few minutes, and it was the manager who told us our server would stop by soon. We asked for water and he brought us bottles (they were $9 each but he didn't tell us that) and we waited another 7-10 minutes until the manager came back. We put in an order for the short rib hummus and he told us he could "throw in another pita for us" which we agreed too (another upsell, again we were unaware that this was extra). The appetizer was good, but it wasn't until about 25 minutes into our dinner that our server checked in. He didn't introduce himself, but he timidly asked how everything was. At that point we decided not to finish our meal there. We had to flag down our server for the bill, and we were shocked that the waters were $9 each, and the pita was an extra $3. All the upsells totaled $21 and the food we actually ordered was $18. So the unfriendly manager that pushed these sales on us can enjoy the extra $21 because we'll never dine here again. I'll be honest it seems like a lot of places in the biltmore area are a little overhyped. It's a very high income area of town where a lot of folks can afford to eat out often and therefore from my experience places do well despite being sub par. However we absolutely love it here, despite our first trip being a bit frustrating our second trip was perfect. We started out at the bar area couch seating laughing over stories with friends and enjoying some drinks and appetizers. After about an hour we transitioned to our table and continued a superb evening paired with exceptional service and delicious food. Everything went well, as always at Flint! The food, EVERY dish was delisc. Very Mediterranean from the spices, the freshness to the comfort of eating the dishes. We had a few shareable plates: the Moroccan chicken, pasta with a lamb ragu, the octopus and we had the short rib hummus. YASSSSSS. Flint is my go to if I want a good meal, beautiful decor and a wonderful atmosphere. You don't have to be dressed to the 9s, but it's casual chic. You can wear your J's, too! The service, always on point! Our waiter seemed like he was only there for us. (He wasn't, but he made you feel that way.) He gave his recommendations--- Love that! And, he was right! We each had the grapefruit and chill drink. And to end our dinner, we had the crumble pound cake. Just DELICOUS! It felt soulful, light and drenched in a wonderful light cream topped with a dollop of fresh whipped cream. Oh, there's ONE detail I need to make a comeback, STAT...the pita bread. Worst customer service ever :-( I had a 7 pm reservation for our anniversary for 17 years.. which I clearly stated in my reservation & we were sat by the manager Cam at a table in a section so extremely LOUD that I didn't request!....I requested the patio section for the more quiet part for our autistic son but Cam said not available, okay I'll accept that! In my Open Table reservation asked how many years we were celebrating which I knew was a tradition for Flint, they'll place a card on the table waiting for the couple... nothing! Then on top of all that I will not accept the fact that we're at a dead restaurant with 5 large tables sitting & servers are walking around us avoiding us... no water service, no I'll be right with you, nothing! I booked a reservation for 3, to celebrate my spouses birthday with our teenage son. We had a fantastic time. I put in the notes when booking that I have celiac and must eat gluten free, and that we were celebrating a bday. They had hand written card for my spouse upon arrival. I've eaten at Flint multiple times before and it was always decent. This review is for the take out experience. I ordered a couple of appetizers and the chop salad adding the chicken minus the soppressata. When I picked it up and took it home , it became clear the salad was missing the chicken. Mind you this is not a hefty salad, so paying $36 for a chicken salad with no chicken and already minus soppressata meant no protein. The chicken was $18. After calling the restaurant they said they can't do anything about it because it was an online order ( Toast ). I have no idea where these people get their customer service training, but is sure isn't customer service when you get told I have to contact Toast for a refund. I worked in the restaurant business and if this was my place I would have apologized for the fiasco and had grilled chicken ready by the time the customer came back and threw in dessert on the house. Mistakes happen, it's how you handle them as a business that defines you. All of my business partners and customers who are always looking for a good meal for large or small groups? I'm steering them away from Flint. What a way to ruin my night. There are plenty of good restaurants that know how to handle their own mistakes. Sadly Flint isn't one of them. read more

It's our all-purpose powerhouse: perfect for impressing out-of-towners, celebrating big moments, corralling friends, or sneaking in a date night. The menu? Always dialed in. There's something for every palate--yes, even that one friend who "doesn't like anything unless it's beige." The food is consistently excellent, full stop. Service is generally solid, though like any busy restaurant, there are moments where things wobble. I'm extra picky (20+ years in hospitality will do that), so if I notice something, trust me--it's minor. We used to live close enough to practically roll home afterward. This was my first time visiting Flint by Baltaire, and it was an interesting experience. The restaurant offers complimentary valet parking. The hosts were absolutely fantastic when I arrived. I asked if they had any seats available upstairs and they told me its opened seating. When I walked upstairs, the servers mentioned that only 3 heaters working, so we decided to be seated indoors. Our waitress walked by our table a few times before she actually greeted us. For a Friday night, the restaurant wasn't packed. I was shocked at how long it took for them to greet and grab us waters. The food came out pretty fast, but the service was delayed. One of the food runners kept bring us the wrong entrees - It was a little strange. Let's get into some spotlights: The "frontier psychiatrist" cocktail was incredible. I loved the apple bourbon notes, and would enjoy sipping this on a chilly winter night. The short rib hummus was delicious, and the pita bread was baked to perfection. We also enjoyed our margherita pizza! The fried chicken small plate was also a tasty selection. Some room for improvement would be the lamb chops. They lacked a little flavor and were not cooked medium well. For the price, I expected a lot more. The service also needs a little love. We were celebrating our daughters 22 nd birthday and boy did they make her feel special, starting with a champagne toast! We started with oysters, octopus-and the hummus appetizers. All fabulous.
