Sweets without the worry of artificial or harmful ingredients. Honestly, I feel so happy knowing I'm eating desert and also serving my family sweets that won't harm them. This is my cupcake go to spot and custom cake spot! I am so GLAD I found you Valentine! I also ordered my husband's birthday cake for this weekend and it was exactly what I wanted in design and flavor thank you for your service! My cake was lemon lavendar which is my absolute favorite!! Also Armenian owned so you know it's going to be made with love ! Yay!

Valentine Sweets started as a home bakery during the COVID lockdowns. This all-organic bakery offers gluten free, keto, vegan, and regular cakes, cookies, & lattes. I was in the area and popped in to check it out. The pastry case is lined with an array of delicious goodies - all beckoning you to stay for a bite. The gal behind the counter was friendly and asked if she could be of assistance. Everything looked delicious. I was tempted to get a variety to go but was on my way to meet up with a friend, so I asked for the Organic Chocolate Chip Cookie, which was voted best Vegan & Gluten Free Cookie. The cookie was soft & chewy. It had a nice flavor but was different than the standard chocolate chip cookies that I am used to. I'd like to come back and try their cupcakes and one of their specialty lattes, which are flavored with Monin syrup.

Note: this location hasn't closed (as of Feb 2026), just sharing space with Art Lunch. Ordered a cake for my wife's birthday here, with sugar-free monkfruit frosting. It was made exactly as ordered, and tasted great--the monkfruit sweetener in the frosting was smooth with no aftertaste. Would certainly order from them again.

Quick update after trying more items on a Sunday at 12:30 pm. The cashier service was good and so was the atmosphere. A cupcake, savory pastry, and plain iced coffee was around $20 after tax and tip. While the items were on the pricy side, all three tasted great. I only had a sip of the coffee, but it was strong and good. The Blueberry Lemon Cupcake was served on a cloud plate that matched the frosting decoration. So cute! I can never wait long enough for it to come to room temp, but the cake was moist with a subtle lemon flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by the liquid blueberry core. It could have had more blueberry flavor though. On the plus side, the frosting was creamy and not too sweet. Our Shepherd's Pie Pierogi was served warm. The bread was soft with a slightly crisp exterior. Inside, the umami mashed potato and peas jived with the spiced ground beef. The filling had enough moisture. The only things I didn't like were the samples we tried for the matcha and earl grey tea cakes. They were rather dry and doughy, and light in flavor.

HOLY DESSERTS BATMAN!! This place is ADORABLE! Not a ton of room to hang out - its more of a pick up and go place - but its very sweet inside. All the desserts look fantastic and so pretty. They have teacakes i want to try and some gluten free options. I got the matcha rose cupcake, clearly homemade, and my husband got the gf cookies n cream. Both were the perfect balance of sweetness. There was a good amount of icing - a complement not overwhelming to the cake. I got matcha to drink which was a little watery but i cant wait to come back and get more cupcakes and other things!! The woman behind the counter was also very nice. A great local business to support!

Didn't try any baked good so the reviews are just for the dirty matcha latte I ordered. Service was slow, there was only one person taking orders, ringing them up, and making the drinks. I did see a help wanted sign though, so hopefully they're hiring more help. The drink with tip and it milk substitute came out to a whOpppping $10! That's a little absurd price point wise for me. The matcha tasted of good quality. And the decor was cute with a few indoor seating. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be back, but perhaps their baked treats are worth trying

Wow valentines sweets was a vibe. I haven't been in the downtown Pasadena area in a cool minute so I'm not sure if this place is new or not, but it def was new to me. Valentines sweets was warm and inviting but what really drew me in was the cute pastel colors and the tea cakes. It's not often that I see tea cakes so I was pretty excited to give them a try. I landed on the lemon poppy tea cake and we also grabbed the blueberry lemon cupcake and lavender honey cupcake. The choosing was actually pretty easy because of the staff, they were beyond helpful and friendly going over whats popular, what's a favorite and all the different varieties they offer like gluten free, vegan and etc. as we checked out I almost noticed the very impressive drink variety they offered from canned kombucha to gut friendly sodas to matcha lattes to created coffees, you had a bunch to choose from. I absolutely loved the cupcakes, they were super flavorful and unique. The lavender honey was light airy and fresh with the lavender. The blueberry lemon was tart and sweet and very flavorful. Sadly my tea cake was on the dry end and lack some flavor. But this wouldn't keep me away from Valentines sweets, I def look forward to trying some other sweets and drinks next time!

Although this was the most beautiful cake decorating service, the cake was dry & even the filling was just not good. I ordered strawberry & cream there was just jam & no cream in sight, I expected a delicious cake for almost $250 I've had plenty of gluten free cake, this was 0/10 taste wise. Decoration was perfect though. Truly a BEAUTIFUL cake but dry & not sweet, when you cut it, it fell apart bc of the way it was made. Holes were poked through the cake layers side ways to fill jam in instead of a layer of cake, then jam etc. cake was dry and the jam wasn't good & there was no cream w/jam, I ordered strawb& cream which was extra$. I have a wheat allergy so I chose to give this place a try for a GF cake. Very beautiful cake but one of the most terrible tasting ones

I'm so sad & disappointed with this place. I stopped by during the week because Dots had closed for the day. It was a little hard to find, but I made it! I walked in and loved their set up. I did notice it smelled a bit funky. I'm still not sure what it was or have a clue of what it could be. There were only 3 people sitting at tables. It's a small location, but it's cute. The guy who helped me was nice. I asked him to give me all the "vanilla" cupcakes that were left (5). They weren't vanilla, but he said it pretty much tasted like it. They were organic keto I want to say something champagne. My total was $35. I was a bit surprised, but at the same time I wasn't. Usually what it is at Dots and these were organic keto ones so it made sense they were $$. Fast forward to coming home....my fam ate 3 & said they were okay. I didn't eat mine so I decided to have it for breakfast with coffee the next day. As soon as I took my first bite I got sad. It was hard....like hard hard. Usually cupcakes I buy at other places still taste pretty good & don't get hard by the next morning. I had 2 left and had to throw them away. :( I don't think I'll be coming back for more. But if you do go....I recommend you eat them right away & maybe they'll be good.

People working there are very friendly and will always welcome you with a smile. They answered all my questions. I appreciate so much that they use organic coffee, organic milk, organic flour, etc. Not many people are aware but conventional food is full of pesticides, heavy metals, artificial flavors, mold, etc. It's so hard to find the bakery who uses organic products and I'm so glad they do. Everything I tried was delicious and full of flavor and not at all dry like others said. I think for most people it's hard to make this transition but you have to pay more for high quality products; otherwise, you'd have to pay much more for your medical bills later! Highly recommend them :)

Tempting bakery in the heart of the city with an interesting selection of confectioneries. Friday late afternoon, still plenty left behind the counter. Hard to choose what to get with the significant options, eventually settling on the Lemon Poppy Cupcake ($6). Was able to take the cupcake outside in their lone table outdoors to enjoy. Cake itself is nice, even flavor and moist throughout. The icing was dense/hard, easily separating from the rest of the cake. Icing was also proportionally too sweet compared to the balanced cake. Not a bad spot at all but pricey for an okay cupcake. Cookies looked pretty good...

So to start... I did not get the cake I ordered. It was difficult to get in touch with them, I got gaslit, and then got denied a refund! It was somehow a very stressful experience. I cannot and do not recommend. If you're too busy to fulfill an order, don't take it!! :( I texted their # to place a custom birthday cake order for my friend's party. They didn't respond so I had to call. I was told they could do a 3-4 inch heart shaped cake with Victorian decorations on the phone. I placed the online order and sent 2 photos from their IG page to reference, as requested. I wrote in the order verbatim: "I would like a Victorian Style decoration. I really like these 2, but you can be creative and come up with your own design. The colors, black, pink, red, and white are preferred, but you don't have to use all of them. Cherries are also fine." After more difficulty trying to get in touch with them, I spoke to the decorator. She told me she could do black, white, pink, or red. She said this size cake doesn't come in heart shape so we agreed on round. (One of the reference photos shows a heart cake in this size!) She said it was a small cake so she could not do as much detail as the reference photos. I said as long as it was still a Victorian design that is fine. As you can see, the cake is Dark Brown with basic Beige piping. I could have purchased a cake that looks exactly like this same-day at a grocery store. My friend said it looks like a $10 cake from Von's. I was so embarrassed. She refused to take any pictures with it and we didn't even want to look at it, so we left it in the box. I had to make it up to her by buying her another cake elsewhere, that turned out beautiful and was easy to order. When I sent the bakery a pic of the cake, noting how different it is from my order, and requesting a refund, they argued with me! They acted like I didn't know what I ordered, started dismissing me and said "if you wanted all pink you could ask for it." They refused to address that I did not order a Brown and Beige cake with basic piping and no Victorian design. Then they ghosted me! Save your $67 ($45 cake $22 delivery). Many of my friends are gluten and/or dairy free who were curious about this bakery will not consider spending their money here now that they know this. Same for my restriction-free friends. The experience was unprofessional, rude, and disorganized. I'm truly very sad I could not give my friend the cake I requested and promised her. It's very embarrassing. I should not have had to pay for a cake so drastically different from what I ordered. I deserve a refund. And if my desired colors and piping were more money, I should have been quoted for that.

Order everything. You won't regret it. Seriously everything, especially the birthday cake latte and lemon tea cake. The people who run this place are passionate about the products they sell and it is evident on every sip and bite. Teacakes are a bit on the pricey side but you can taste the quality. Service has always been phenomenal.

We tried a bit of everything from the macrons, cookies and cupcakes. Everything was a bit dry and off (not just the vegan items), we can appreciate this store for what it is if everything didn't taste 2-3 days old. Perhaps rotating stock would help but as of now my wife and I are perplexed by all these rave reviews and chalk it up to the soft opening / friends who are visiting. We believe there is a reason this establishment just changed names ;). read more

This place is a really pleasant surprise. I typically avoid sweets, but I was in the mood to treat myself after surviving leg day. The staff was personable and friendly, the options were diverse and vegan, gluten, and friendly. I'm none of those things, but I tried one of their pastries and suddenly saw myself being all of those things, as long as this place exists. It was delicious. The best part was the chocolate raspberry latte - I braced myself for something sweeter than Starbucks and was surprised to taste actual coffee with strong notes of raspberry. It's probably the best mix of coffee and fruit I've ever had. So I decided to write a review and let you all know that you won't regret going here. Enjoy! read more

Had coffee here today. Cute little shop with some gluten free options, though not too many... The rose and pistachio gf muffin was good, a bit on the sweet side, but still very good; moist and great crumb texture. I also had an oat milk latte, which could have been a bit stronger for my preference. It pretty much just tasted like oat milk. I would, however come again. I would like to try some of their gf cakes for the future... Easy parking very close by where you can scan and pay on your phone. read more

This is one of the best bakeries I've ever been to that specializes in gluten-free, vegan baked goods. Their specialty is tea cakes and keto cookies, and the tea cakes come in a host of flavors (e.g. chocolate, earl grey, lavender, lemon, green tea, etc.). They also offer plenty of other goodies like beverages (we tried their iced caramel latte and it was pretty spectacular!), whole cakes, snacks for take-home. They've already done the research and the products they make and carry are so vetted. The baked goods we picked up (tea cakes, keto cookies) were so so fresh. Thoroughly enjoyed this place and the staff was beyond friendly. The grounds were very clean, you could tell they're taking solid COVID-19 precautions. Loved it. Highly recommended! read more

Too cute of a bakery to have "meh" baked goods. Every time I come here it's just never good and no matter who is on register they're always fake nice with just a borderline of rudeness. Steer clear of the cupcakes they are never good and I'm sorry if you're gonna justify the high prices with an organic, gf, vegan label make sure they're at least edible and folks get what they pay for cause damn is it overpriced here. Would I recommend? Eh, I always tell people to go but be weary that the pastries look inviting but might not taste good. read more

My husband and I were walking along Colorado Blvd in Old Town and we were drawn in by the inviting smell of Valentine Sweets. He had a chocolate chip and I had an autumn spice cupcake. So yummy! We also had hot chocolate with a beautiful design on top. They were able to accommodate our non-dairy option and used oat milk. Many vegan items and organic items. Valentine Sweets is hands down the most welcoming, refreshing business I've encountered. It doesn't even feel right calling it a business because the environment there is just that warm and comfortable. Not only are the workers super nice and accommodating (Kristy and Brynlee are two I can name), but the owner, Marianna, has such an incredible energy and always makes sure everyone is taken care of. Everything is made with organic ingredients here and it all tastes amazing. There are so many varieties that they offer that cater to all diets such as gluten free, keto, vegan, etc. This inclusivity is appreciated by many. Not to mention, you can tell everything is made with love. If you want to visit a cute, woman + Armenian owned business, I highly recommend coming here. You will not be disappointed. Yummy chewy amazing vegan cookies! I love all of them but if I had to choose I would say my favs are the orange creamsicle and the lemon poppyseed one! I am very happy that there is a physical place now to go get the yummy cookies. Don't even hesitate trying the flavors that call your name plus they are aesthetically so appealing! I have been buying tea cakes from Valentine Sweets before the store opened and have continued to buy from them once the store did open. Every time I buy them, I am never disappointed by the luxurious taste and quality! It's just a bonus that they are also insanely cute. I have been a customer for almost a year now (before the storefront so i'm so glad that I can stop by at anytime without preordering) and can confidently say i love these tea cakes!! You can taste each ingredient used and they smell great! I have yet to try them with actual tea, i usually just snack on them. These are great to pick up as a sweet for the family or even as a gift! I've ordered these for Mother's day, birthdays, and recently christmas!! Also obsessed that they are now offering gluten free mini cakes!! the blueberry pomegranate cake is to die for!! definitely check this place out- earl grey& rose and chamomile tea cakes are my favorite!! read more

First time visiting this cute shop and I loved it. They have delicious tea cakes and cupcakes. They also serve lattes and coffees and the gentleman working behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back to try their lattes and other tea cake flavors. I don't recall how I came across their page on IG but I am SO glad I did! I have been looking for an organic bakery with clean ingredients for YEARS, yes years. My son is on a very clean diet and most gluten free places have a ton of ingredients I wouldn't eat myself, let alone feed my child. So I would either bake his bday cake myself or get a cake for blowing candles but now allow him to eat it. My son's birthday cake was exactly what I wanted, it looked great and tasted amazing. Oh and the tea cakes, just WOW, a must try if you decide to stop by. When I say they have clean ingredients, I mean it. It was so refreshing to speak with the owners and have them mention all the brands I use at home. Most importantly, I love the transparency of the bakery. The owners really do seem like they pour their heart and soul into their small business and it shows very evidently through their efforts and diligence. The tea cakes are what they are known for but don't pass on the matcha latte! Also, loved the challah bread and the gluten free sugar cookie!! My daughter and I shared a few and we loved the energy in the cafe. There were so many cool little gifts to buy, as well. I got the Armenie and the Sundae Sweet candles and they smell amazing. Everything looked great from the window and we were excited to try organic treats. It was clean, cute and well lit. People seemed to be enjoying themselves. I had a double chocolate cupcake and was so disappointed! It crumbled in my mouth like sand. The glob of frosting was almost solid and didn't help moisten the cupcake at all. I took a few bites trying to find some taste but couldn't. I spit out what seemed like a chocolate chip but felt like a rock and ended up throwing most of it away. $6 plus tip basically in the trash can outside. :( read more

Cute/Instagram-able family owned cafe. I just came for the coffee on my break, but wish I had more time to stay after looking at all of their delectable organic pastries. Elisa (if I got that correct/spelled correctly) was very warm, welcoming, and provided great service. Love this quaint little bakery in Pasadena! Their desserts are awesome & super yummy! Stayed in here to do some work one day, I ordered their ice matcha latte & it was delicious. I also ordered 2 dozen of their mini vegan cupcakes for a baby shower and they're a hit! I would definitely recommend this place for all diets, not just speciality. They have a wide range of options for any diets which is a great element to this business. read more

I love this place as does my family. I had ordered from Valentine Sweet before the bakery and loved it. I ordered from them again on Sunday for an event and let me tell you- they went above and beyond! Their customer service is impeccable and have never experienced great customer service like theirs. Now, the tea cakes are amazing! I had ordered 2 dozen and we have 0 left over. It was a hit. They were so tasty and aesthetically super cute. They were soft and fresh. All the flavors were great and it was hard to choose but the baklava flavor was a huge hit. Got one picture before they were gone. read more

I was looking for Vegan and Gluten Free options for my team at work and discovered this small bakery. They were wonderful! The cupcakes I ordered were delicious, and the team was so excited to have 6 different flavors to choose from. I was thrilled that Valentine Sweets was able to fill my order with less than 24 hours notice, with no additional charge and no extra fuss. Other places were asking for 48-72 hours notice. 2 thumbs up! Great organic bakery (amazing, unique tea cakes!!!) and great staff. Now that's how you run a small mom and pop shop. Customer service is appreciated more nowadays, and thankful to find shops still carry such value. And I won't forget to mention their menu is amazing. Just go somewhere else. I spent $150 on a birthday cake just for it to be laughed and mocked by the front of house baristas AND for it not to be the flavor I PAID for. I guess my black heart cake didn't fit into their pretty life aesthetic cakes they only design.I wish I could give this place negative to zero stars. I spoke to the manager but was still unhappy about the refund amount they gave me as they never called me back to settle the issue or settle on a refund amount. I asked for a vegan red velvet cake with strawberry filling and I did not get that at all . They gave me vanilla cake that was burnt on the edges with strawberry jammy stuff that seeped into the inside of the cake which made it mushy and basically unedible. This was my birthday present and it was a disaster. When I spoke to the manager they gave me the sorry excuse saying they don't make vegan red velvet since the food dye isn't vegan. Then why have it on the website as an option? I have had vegan red velvet before made without food dye and hello it's 2023 they make vegan food dye. I was up charged so much and they didn't even give a recipe or invoice to what the decorations/add ons along with the price for exactly what was being done. I was a loyal customer to this place until now . Save your money and go somewhere else . They just love to ridiculously charge and price their items so they can so spend it at the restaurant No Comment next door , they're always posting about it on their Instagram, it's a bad look. Here's a tip: Separate your personal life from your business and maybe retrain your staff not to laugh at cakes designed by your own bakery. I'm getting scam vibes from this business. read more

Very literally every special occasion, Valentine Sweets is there! I'm so happy for the amazing family that opened up such a beautiful shop and cafe. I'd been enjoying the best tea cakes I've literally ever had in my life before they got the store, and I'm so excited to see what more flavors and creations come. My recommendations is to get the variety box of tea cakes. Try them all and see which ones stick with you the most. My personal top 3 are the lavender, rose, chamomile, and a bonus is the lemon poppy. My husband absolutely loves the chocolate. Recently, I've been loving the Keto spice cookie - just wow!! So yummy and full of flavor. I'm very strict on what my toddler eats and I'm more than comfortable for her to eat here because everything is organic and it's such a cute kid-friendly place. My family had the opportunity to enjoy some of the pleasures of Old Town Pasadena this month and one place we absolutely loved and will visit again when we are in town, is Valentine Sweets! I was drawn in by the cute factor (the store lures you in), but then found out that tea cakes are something I really like. The gingerbread and the baklava cakes were perfect with my latte! We also brought home a small loaf of bread that we made into the most delicious French toast the next day. If you haven't checked this place out, I recommend it! It just makes the whole Old Town experience that much more enjoyable. I am so excited that they offer so many vegan options as well, and I plan on bringing my best friend there soon, as she is always looking for vegan baked goods! I have been a huge fan of these tea cakes for a while now and so glad that there's a beautiful physical cafe to have them in. It really makes my drive to Pasadena even more worth it. There is something special about the tea cakes, both texture and flavor. My all time favorite is the lemon one. However, they all provide a unique gastronomic experience. I've tried all of them and I do not have one that I don't like to be honest. But, I must talk about this vegan challah. I was so lucky to arrive earlier and get one straight out of the baker's oven and had to purchase one for later. Make some time for a date with yourself or a friend and treat yourself to this new business in old town Pasadena. Horrible unethical owner. Will never come here again. If you are picking up, do not let him force you to swipe that you received the order before you actually see it. Make him give you the order first and if the food is 2 cupcakes when you expected a whole bag of food, then do not take it. If you don't take it you will not be charged. read more

My daughter's birthday party was on a major holiday and I was having trouble finding a bakery or baker that could accommodate the cake I wanted. I found Petit Cali through Yelp and Natoya came through big time! Natoya was prompt in her communication and responses, and I appreciated the time she took to go through all of my decorating ideas and requests. She provided me with a sketch of what the final cake would look like, and was very comfortable and open to my feedback. She also worked with me on cost. I eliminated a couple of design elements due to my budget, but that didn't mean compromising on the beauty and creativity of the overall cake. As far as taste: OMG, the best chocolate cake ever! My birthday girl was thrilled with her cake, our guests were equally delighted, and everyone's taste buds were extra happy. Natoya is remarkably talented and creative, and a great person, too. Very personable and easy to work with. I look forward to enjoying one of her cakes again. (I provided the cake topper seen in the photos below. The frosting is buttercream... I kind of like that no one is allowed inside except the workers. It makes me feel like the food is less likely to be contaminated by people getting close to it or breathing/talking over it like at other coffee shops or bakeries. Everything is out by the window so if customers came inside I could see it being an issue. Would be great to take it to a nearby park and have a picnic.
