I think this is my new favorite place. Everything is delicious. Definitely a must try if you haven't.

It is so fun to finally be dining at a restaurant where everything did not fall off of a Cisco's truck! An unbelievable find This Italian restaurant is so authentic and absolutely beautiful. The ambience, the attention to detail and the amazing Waite staff. When we arrived we requested something that was not on the menu but we saw online and Chef Rob was like absolutely I can do that! The only problem we had is we need help carrying the leftovers to the car! The food next day was just as wonderful as an original meal. It made for an amazing 56 birthday. I usually enjoy the food and keep going back for the convenience, but after tonight we will never set foot into Valentino's. I placed an order online at 5:15 for pick up. It said order will be ready at 6:04. We drove to pick it up and as usual it was not ready when my husband arrived. He waited 20 more minutes then he said the pizza better be hot after that wait. After they demonstrated that they do not care at all about the inconvenience we took the pizza home and it was disgustingly cold. Not worth the $16 for an ice cold soggy cheese pizza. We also ordered spaghetti, cold, and the only thing that should have been cold "the desert" was melted. Next time I don't feel like cooking I'll rethink it and just do it myself. read more

This is now our new place to have pizza. I have no idea why we waited so long to go there. My husband is from NY originally and says, "hands down" the best he's had in a long time in AZ ever. We've heard time and time again how wonderful Valentino's is. We are big fans of Alesia's in Mesa, and we were looking forward to finding a new go to Italian restaurant for our entire family to enjoy. My husband and I were celebrating, looking to spare no expense after and planned to enjoy drinks and appetizers, desserts, the whole 9 yards as well as order additional entree's to take home for our family members not well enough to dine out. Maybe it's because we don't look like we were going to spend a lot of money? Maybe because my husband and I are in our 20s? Not sure But we noticeably received different service than the older customers. We started with a seat at the bar to enjoy some cocktails while we waited for a table. I ordered a whiskey sour, tall. After it had already been poured they asked me what I'd want instead to mix it with as they had no sweet and sour mix. I'm easy going, no problem but I'm no bar tender, so I don't know and I told her to surprise me. It wasn't a bad drink, not good either though and not something I'd ever willingly pay for but I did feel put on the spot to drink it or be responsible for it being wasted and dumped out...for reference we were served the wrong type of wine at another restaurant a while back and they corrected it without wasting product. Just my observation but I decided to not order a second drink after that like I'd planned. We finally got our table and ordered our appetizer, side soups, and so on. The crab cakes were really good! The French onion soup was also really good, as was the bread. The food was awesome and that's why I'm sad to leave a bad review. Our meals came out after a very long time, we were fine waiting but you'd think after everyone who came in AFTER us was finishing their meals...that our meals would at the very least be correct. We didn't even order seafood or anything complicated, just two basic pasta dishes. My husbands meal came out without the meat we paid extra to include, no cheese, nothing just wet noodles and sauce. My entree was not even correct, the server took it back and returned a little while later that it would be out in a little bit. We got here at 6:15, and it's now at that point 8:30....so I tell her I guess I'll go without dinner then and to cancel it. "Well, do you want your food or do you want to cancel it because they're starting it so I need to go tell them then" so NOW she has a sense of urgency? So disappointed. I tell her to cancel it entirely, and my husband asks for a box for the entree that isn't even correct as we had to make sure they at bare minimum removed the charge for the addition of meat. I couldn't believe it, honestly. They offered us nothing but excuses for how "swamped" they were, which they weren't...they were busy yes, but seem to forget that we had been there since 6:15 watching everyone else get treated and served well. I asked nicely to speak to a manager. The server comes back with our bill, which only has my entree removed and still has my Frankenstein-cocktail on it at full price but I'm not even about to discuss that with her as she tells me there's nobody who will speak to me and that I should just call tomorrow. Instead of helping us we got rushed out with homework to call someone named Rob tomorrow. I would have loved to actually try their pasta, as well as the 3 family members we were going to place full price orders to go for. But we didn't look like we were going to spend enough to get the service everyone else seems to get. The food is really good! I believe that they need to hire more people or have less tables because they are noticeably under staff. I ordered my food at 5:30 PM and waited for over an hour to get my to go order of a pizza and a pasta dish. I am sorry it should not take that long for a to go order. read more

This review is from the very first interaction with staff. I will quote this person because i was beside myself. "Hello, are you here for takeout" me: no dine in please, "oh I'm sorry we are closed". Pizza was soggy and mushy. Worst part they did not add the sausage I paid for. For 25.00 and a tiny 10" pizza they could have done better.

This is the Very Best Restaurant for Italian or American food! Staff, atmosphere, wine selection, food are always excellent. They nail it each and every time! Be it for lunch or dinner. Amazing how fresh everything is. It's like taking a trip to Italy without the jet lag. You can't go wrong at Valentino's Eatery in Florence Az. It's an experience you won't forget. The finest restaurant near San Tan Valley. We found it by accident and we will definitely be going back. I had grilled scallops in garlic butter sauce and my husband had linguini and clams. Is this restaurant under new ownership? My wife and I have gone here for several years and brag about how good the food was. Tonight was so disappointing on our anniversary. We both received a Caesar salad that had so much brown lettuce. The shrimp marinara was so under seasoned. Also my Genevise was so under seasoned and I was wondering were the red pepper was. It was chopped up so small I could not taste it with the sausage. We have gone here many times and just loved it. I am wondering what has changed. read more

Just celebrated our 5th anniversary dinner there this evening. We have eaten here before and truly enjoyed all our of meals. True Italian cooking. Hard to come by in AZ as we are from the east coast and Italian. However, we arrived about 6 PM and were seated promptly. The lighting in this restaurant is an issue. Small track lighting about certain tables and not others. No lighting over our table. We needed to use our cell phones so we can read the menu. As time passed, we noticed other guests at their tables doing the same. I did as about the lighting or possibly a candle for the table... very odd. The lack of lighting so was distracting and annoying. I felt like I was 5 yrs old during the big black out in NYC. At least back then, we had candles. read more

Recently relocated from California and have purchased a home in San Tan Valley and was anxious to try Valentino's. I was not disappointed and loved my meal. We decided to make reservations for our Valentine's Day Dinner at Valentino's Eatery this year. Having been out of town for most of the weekend, we wanted something close to home and hadn't yet tried Valentino's. Everything was absolutely amazing, including the service. We sat on the patio since it had been quite a warm day for February and the weather was perfect. We enjoyed the live music that was brought in to enhance the romantic mood and the sunset that evening was absolutely breathtaking! For dinner, we went with the Broccoli Parmigiana for our appetizer and Chicken Picatta and Chicken Cacciatore for our entrees...delicious. Both entrees came with a side salad and bread with an amazing tomato oil that they make in-house. It was so good that we brought a bottle home with us. Overall, this was a great experience and we will definitely be back for more date nights. What a wonderful addition to this far side of the valley! read more

In Anthem, just off Hunt Highway and to the left of Safeway is a fabulous Italian restaurant I discovered thanks to Jeffrey Kramer, Food Connoisseur and Reviewer from Kahuna Cafe - http://kahunacafe.blogspot.com . When I walked in I saw a beautifully decorated dining room with 2 and 4 top tables with classy glass place settings and white table clothes. About 9 of the 15 or so tables were full of people talking and laughing and they all looked like they were really enjoying their food. It's a place where you can wear casual clothes or dress up, it all depends on how you feel. You'll fit in either way. There was a short wait because when you first walk in, if the greeter is seating folks, there is no way for them or the servers to see you right away because the wall into the dining room is jutted out a little and there is no clear view from the dining room to the door or vice versa. I took a quick step to the left and one of the staff saw me right away and came to seat me. My server, Rebecca, arrived within a minute or so, and took my drink order. I asked for the sweetest white wine they had and a coke. Jen Barker, one of the owners (Rob Barker, her husband, is the other owner and chef) brought me my wine and introduced herself (she was tending bar). Jen is very pleasant and was really interested in knowing what I thought after I told her that Jeffrey recommended I stop in. Rebecca arrived with my coke and for an appetizer, I ordered the Muscles Valentino in the wine and garlic sauce. It arrived a little while later and the sauce had a saltiness from the coarse salt on the mussels that was perfectly matched with a little hint of brininess from the mussels. I squeezed the fresh lemon slice over all the mussels and that added another level of flavor to the dish. Half way through them, I noticed that 4 of the 16 mussels didn't open. Rebecca took them back to the kitchen and Chef Rob quickly re-fired 4 fresh ones for me. When they arrived I choose not to use the lemon and found that I actually liked them better without it. The homemade loaf of bread was a little hard on the outside (like a good French bread should be) yet soft and pillowy on the inside. It made the perfect dipping bread in the garlic sauce on the mussels. Just as I finished the appetizer, Rebecca, my very attentive server, arrived with my salad. The salad was fresh and beautiful to look at. The bright and deep greens, dark red and orange were just gorgeous. And it had just the right combination of lettuce and spinach with plum tomatoes, carrots, red onion and a delicious house Italian dressing with just the right touch of tanginess. Within a few minutes of finishing my salad my entrée was delivered with a smile. The special for the night, Cajun Broiled Fish on a bed of fettuccine with green peas, apple bacon and mushrooms. I've eaten some great Cajun fish in New Orleans and I have to tell you this was better than some of those. Nearly the best I've eaten. It really was mouthwatering. The heat from the spicy Cajun seasoning was spot on. Not enough to burn your mouth, but just enough to let you know it's there. And the crispy outside of the fish had a light crunch that I heard when I bit into the first bite. The fettuccine was al dente as were the mushrooms, just the way I like them, and the taste was truly savory and delicious. I added a little squeeze of lemon juice to the fish and "Bam", as one of my favorite chefs says from time to time, it kicked the whole meal up a notch. The prices are very reasonable so you won't break the bank on a very upscale and fabulous meal. And if your server is as good as Rebecca was, I highly recommend you tip accordingly. This is a dining experience I will treasure for a long time... as least until I return to this little gem in the desert. So, if you're thinking about having a night out, in a nice setting and wonderful atmosphere, with phenomenal food, a friendly staff and owners that pay attention to their guests that won't put you in the poor house... then take that short 12 minute drive south (past Bella Vista on Hunt Hwy) and I promise you... you will not be disappointed. read more

So yesterday I was in Valentino's and I tried their shrimp the oblow. The shrimp was tasty and fresh the pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was very flavorful... Seems like this place has really gone down hill. Usually order the ribeye but the last two times it has been over cooked and for almost $40 a pop, I decided to go a different route. So today I Ordered the fried fish with a side of Cole slaw. T After the fish was brought out she brought me a side of pasta salad and I informed her that I did not like pasta salad, however I wasn't even offered any of the other choice for sides that came with meal. (Spaghetti, fries or potatoes) the French onion soup was good as usual but the fish had zero flavor and looked terrible. They did have a party of about 20 people so maybe their food was given priority. I really used to love this place and the owners are always friendly and wave to me in the community but it's safe to say we won't be coming back. Maybe once the snowbirds leave, the quality will return, but I'm not sure I will. read more

I live right by this place and my family has always kinda glances over this place because of a bad pizza we got when we first moved in. Me having a craving and not wanting to deal with the expense of doordash I decided to give it another go! It's a fairly inexpensive pizza and it's pretty damn good. A group of 8 dined at Valentino's for lunch on Tuesday. Our server Victoria was amazing! The food we were served was perfect from the salads with fruit, to the stuffed shells, the Italian combo sandwich, and the Vermont chicken sandwich.
