Recently made a catering order from Salerno's for my wife's birthday party. Every single dish was absolutely delicious, amazing and high quality. All of our guests were ranting and raving about the food and asking where it was from. Trish was very helpful and friendly over the phone helping me make selections and walking through the pricing. It was very easy and worth every penny! Also we have been going to Salernos for years, my wife has been to Italy and has Italian family members... Salernos has hands down the best tiramisu we've ever had. Thankfully, we have an extra pan of it to ourselves left over from the party will definitely be thinking of Salernos again in the future for any catering needs. While heading out to another pizza joint one night, saw the lighted sign for Salerno's and did a quick u-turn.. so happy we did! Plenty of parking. Upon entering place is a bit 'open' and warehouse style but the staff are welcoming making the place warm and inviting. Food: ordered the small (8 slices) Chicago cheese with sausage. Surprised it was a round pizza and gal said all others are, just this size isn't. Shape didn't deter from taste as so gooey with cheese and the Italian sausage is home made! They have a good selection of wine, beer and a bar for cocktails. No bar to sit at but plenty of tables. A good selection of items to purchase: Italian ragu, pasta, ice cream- spumoni!!!! Probably the Best Pizza in Arizona. I'm from the Chicago area and always went to the Salernos in Berwyn and St. Charles, Illinois. The Salerno Family have carried on the tradition of great Pizza and Italian Food. I also love the homemade Cannoli's and homemade Italian Sausage & Italian Beef. A family run business worth supporting . The wait staff was super friendly and service was very attentive . Lots of tables for seating so it wasn't a long wait. Could see lots of take out orders leaving which is always a good sign too Over all the food was tasty , being from back east there were some more unusual choices than your typical local Italian. A large portion of their food is home made like their desserts and appetizers , and ravioli , lasagna. Their pizza is deep dish Chicago and thin crust The deep dish looked tasty but we got the pizza . It was made more with what seemed like a cracker crust ( not home made?) reminded me of boxed pizza . Garlic bread was very good! Soft bread dipped in a melted garlic butter..dripping good! Lasagna, I was told by Trish, were made in house. $19.99 will feed 2 people. Lasagna was 5 layers with Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese (?), house made spaghetti sauce. With a crispy cheese goodness on the outside edge! Sauce was delicious, , not overly seasoned and not salty. Only down side I personally had with the dish is that I thought the layers should have been fuller,or more of it. Layers were thin and 1 bottom layor of Italian sausage. The lasagna noodles were amazing but I just wanted a thicker hardier bite. The chocolate chip brownie is house made! Huge! This was our first time eating at Salerno's, we live down the street and drive by it all the time and finally made our way in. At first, we were confused because we didn't know if there was seated service or if we had to order at the counter. After that, we figured that you had to order at the counter and then take your table. The adults split a cheese pizza with Italian sausage and ricotta cheese, my husband got a calzone, and my daughter got spaghetti with butter. My husband's only gripe was that the calzone was very doughy, and he wished that there was more toppings and cheese on the inside. But my mom and I shared a pizza and it was delicious. I loved how the pizza was baked and the texture of the cheese on the top! Next time we won't wait to come back to Salerno's, it will make its way into our rotation of new restaurants! We recently catered from Selenro's Restaurant & Pizzeria for a large party and were beyond impressed! We ordered cheese ravioli, mostaccioli, fettuccine Alfredo, vegetarian mostaccioli, and garlic bread--and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, the pasta perfectly cooked, and the portions were generous. It ended up being the perfect amount of food plus extra leftovers. The only (very minor) hiccup was the garlic bread--we thought it would be traditional garlic bread, but it came as sliced bread with Parmesan cheese on the side. We ended up buttering, seasoning, and toasted. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and we'll definitely be ordering again. Can't wait to try more from their menu! Very simple concept. Order at the counter, but pretty much just serve yourself after that. Staff is constantly checking on you though. The owner (I assume) even checked on us numerous times to make sure we were enjoying our dishes. Ordered garlic cheese bread, an all meat pizza, chicken alfredo, and chicken franchaise. Garlic cheese bread was amazing and honestly, I can't remember the last time I had pizza this good! Soooo much flavor... and the crust? Omg the crust was something I've never tasted before. Chef's kiss . The chicken franchaise (spelling?) was also phenomenal. It was so tender that even the next day it was delicious. They don't do much to garnish or make their dishes look fancy, but don't be misled. Their modesty is all an act because those dishes are an explosion of flavors. This is my second time at Salerno's. First time I had spaghetti and meatballs. Today I went for lunch and had the Italian beef both visits. The food was amazing and the service was excellent today for lunch. The Italian beef was outstanding and it included a side salad all for $15 considering the quality of the food. My daughter took cheerleading in the same strip mall as Salerno's about 20 years ago. Wow and still going strong!! That's when we first ate here. We saw they were from Chicago where we are transplanted from. Also, the name was like Salerno butter cookies. Idk if they are related. Anyway, the amazing food items we enjoyed were the spaghetti and meatballs and chicken Parmesan. To my surprise was the creamy garlic salad dressing!!!! It tasted just like Tonelli's in Northbrook, IL where I grew up (except Salerno's wasn't mint green). Fast forward 2026, WOW, it's been about 5 years since I've been here because we are no longer in the area. I happen to be close by and decided to get some of the creamy garlic dressing and a side of meatballs. As soon I got home, it did not disappoint!! The homemade meatballs smothered in for real marinara sauce and the homemade creamy garlic dressing I put on top of a bed of crispy romaine lettuce with croutons. They had not changed in flavor and quality!! Thank goodness!! The hostess greeted me right away and took my order which was ready in no time at all!! I had carbonara and it literally tasted like oil and pasta. We had salad, chicken parm sandwiches etc too. Main consensus was no flavor profile but nice staff. My 7 year old asked me "Mom can we get Papa John's and breadsticks tonight?" I was a little taken back, as I don't like Papa John's and he was oddly specific. My dad had picked up for us. So not too sure how the place looked inside or ambiance. But it seemed like they were pretty punctual when it came to Pizza Time. Now onto the food! My first bite and literally all the cheese came off and ended up burning my mouth and hand as I tried to catch it. Lol. Whoops. Not too sure if that's a good or bad thing, but it was a bit annoying. My first initial thought of the crust was odd. Thick, buttery, crispy but cardboard like. There wasn't much flavor to it or texture. I was expecting a little bit of a chew maybe? But I did enjoy a nice butter like flavor to it. The sauce was a little too simple for me as well. Sausage and pepperoni were okay as well but I did enjoy how much cheese was put on. Garlic bread was honestly better than our pizza.. *shrugs* I ended up giving the pizza to my siblings and parents, they also didn't care for it and told me I wasted money on it. This was my first time into Salerno's even though I have heard many recommendations over the years. The restaurant has a very casual feel to it. You walk up to order your food/drink and are given a number for your table. Once your order is ready, it is delivered to your table. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful! The entrees are served with a dinner salad - your choice of romaine, iceberg or spring mix. The Italian dressing was perfect to dress the salad served with shredded carrots and croutons. We ordered a caprese salad to start which was fresh and perfectly seasoned. I ordered eggplant Parmesan as my entree and cheese ravioli for my cousin. You can tell the marinara is house made and is one of the best I've had in a restaurant setting (I typically don't like marinara). Every part of our meal was delivered quickly and at the proper temperatures. My eggplant Parmesan was still crisp even having marinara placed on top of it, I was impressed by the fry. We ordered from here last Saturday night because I didn't want to go anywhere. Everyone knows take out is never as good as when you eat at the restaurant. One of the reviewers said salad comes with the entree. This is not the case. We ordered 2 chicken parmigiana, with Alfredo sauce on the pasta, the shrimp dinner, a calzone & 2 orders of garlic bread. The portions are large. Everyone liked the food except the Alfredo. my daughter & I both had the Alfred, and it was super bland. My daughter threw hers away. Before taxes & a tip the total was $96.00. Unfortunately this will not be our go to spot because I have to have Alfredo when I have Italian. read more

Our food this visit was average, way o we-priced for average food! The atmosphere is reminiscent of a cafeteria, rather than a high-priced Italian restaurant! You have to go to the register to order and pay, then they deliver your food up you. Again, not what one would expect for an "upscale" Italian restaurant! At least it was better than the mess they served four years ago at my daughter's high school graduation dinner! That was horrible!
