Another amazing meal. My bi-monthly VEAL treat at the only place remaining in the Phoenix area that provides a great piece of veal and a great meal. Have tried many other Italian places in this area and usually end up with either a "tough" piece or one with "gristle" in it. Normally get piccata since I enjoy capers. This was my second time there. The veal was tasteless and dry the first time I tried it, and it was just as tasteless and dry the second time. It came with a side of spaghetti, and the gravy was also very bland. I gave them two chances. There won't be a third. read more

I was delighted to find this new restaurant at just a short drive from our STV vacation home. I took a friend to lunch there in mid-May, and we were not disappointed. Great choice of dishes that were well-prepared, tasty, and reasonably priced. ( I had a salad and my companion had an Italian sandwich). Our server appeared to be a high school student and she was a bit less than enthusiastic (well, maybe just bored), but the service was adequate. The ambiance was very nice. Tablecloths reminded me of lunching in Europe. We had only one complaint, and that was that the chairs (although cute) were very, very uncomfortable. The seats are small, flat, and hard. The backs are straight. If we tried to shift to get more comfortable (and we are both average-sized women), we would nearly slide off the chairs. Not very relaxing. We decided that we'd like to come back, but may need to bring stadium seat pads with us next time. Too bad that was the one big negative, because the chairs are obviously new. Aside from that, it was great. If they add some comfortable seating (maybe some nice cushy booths?), they'll get lots of business from me. read more

Ordered the house special 14" Pizza to-go. Walked in and was immediately welcomed and helped. The restaurant itself is small with a nice warm, authentic atmosphere. The pizza is INCREDIBLE to say the least! My husband took one bite and said, "this isn't dominos that's for sure"! low key location in a small mall, pleasant atmosphere & staff. took a pizza to go (meatlovers - thin crust, fabulous) at lunchtime and ate their fettuccine w/ grilled chicken accompanied by a green salad and bread (both tasty). the fettuccine'n sauce were wonderful tho' the chicken was fairly dry. nice size portion, fine cutlery, well made margarita, an excellent find in a small town. read more

One of our favorite restaurants. We have always received excellent service and food when dining in. I say this because I do not want to dissuade someone from trying out this gem. We ordered a large margarita pizza online for pick up. I arrived early and left with the pizza fresh out of the oven. When I arrived home 5 minutes down the road we opened the box to a soggy pizza. This was an unfortunate experience. This was our second time ordering out for pizza and our prior experience was excellent. Hopefully they can tighten up their quality control out of the window. read more

Finally, on my 3rd day in Florence, I found Valentinos. My meal consisted of blood Orange martini with a salad. Entree was Osso Bucco Pork over Risotto. Wine: Liberated Sauv Blanc. I was visiting Phoenix and my cousin lives in Florence, so I took a drive over to see him and his wife who actually live in Anthem. They were telling me about this new restaurant that opened on Thursday, and although I was hesitant to go, because I own an Italian Restaurant on Winter Springs Florida, I said let's give it a try, as I love to critique the competitors. I must say that they are doing everything right. The food is fresh, tasty and hot when it came to the table, and the Tomato Oil is "spot on"! Wow. It's the only word that can come out of my mouth right now. We decided to give this place a try tonight. My husband went in and ordered 2 pizzas. Words can't describe how good their food is. If their PIZZA is this good I can only imagine with their other dishes are like. This place is the real deal, people! Amazing flavor. You can taste the freshness of it all. Their pizza crust is by far, the best I've ever had. In fact, we all held a vote and hands down it's the best pizza we've ever had. Ever. And trust me. We're a picky crowd. Would rate this 10 stars if I could. I can assure you, I feel so lucky to have this new place just down the street from me and we will be back. On a regular basis. UPDATE 5/23/14 - We went in and had dinner in the restaurant. Between the 3 of us we ordered Pasta Combo, Fettuccini Alfredo, Shrimp Scampi and the Calamari appetizer. This, my friends, is a diamond in the rough. The aesthetics lean a bit toward a high end restaurant, but it is anything but pretentious. The staff is very attentive and the food is fantastic, if a bit pricey. The lasagna is as authentic tasting as I've had since I was last in northern Italy. The desserts are freshly made and to die for. On your way out, pick up a bottle of the tomato oil that they serve with the bread...we keep a bottle on hand at home all the time now. After two strikes with the previous restaurants that occupied this space, we may have a hit on our hands this time! I stopped by here for lunch with my wife yesterday and we loved it. One thing that I noticed almost immediately was how much attention this place is attracting. When we ate here in the past (previous restaurants) , we NEVER saw any customers walk through the doors during our meal. While we enjoyed our lunch yesterday, I think we watched at least a dozen or more people come through the doors either as customers or curious about the menu. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful, and so far our experience with the food has been outstanding. I tried the Italian combo sandwich, which is served on warm bread and tasted amazing. My wife had the eggplant parmesan sandwich and loved it. The portions were a little larger than we expected but we couldn't control ourselves and finished the entire plate. They have a really nice menu and we will definitely be coming back for dinner in the near future. Good to see a place like this with a bar that carries a nice wine selection. My favorite place to go for lunch or dinner. The pizza is top notch, their French onion soup is to die for too. My husband always gets the special with sausage and ravioli's and it's out of this world. I really can't say a negative thing about this place. The lunch atmosphere is very quiet and nice and dinner is more poppin and busy but still fun. The staff is always wonderful and I'm always meeting new people that eat there that are equally as nice. I visited valentinos ordering pizza and cannoli it was awesome, I highly recommend the cannoli. I have not had cannoli like this since I lived back east and they are hand made on site. My wife and I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese. We were under the impression that, due to a large number of customers, this place could produce a great pizza. We were wrong. This pizza had about 12 to 13 small pieces of pepperoni on it. The sauce was was totally unseasoned. In fact it tasted like and had the consistency of tomato paste. Crust was soft and not cooked through. This place makes me miss Mama's Kitchen which made a great pizza! I grew up in N.J. and I know pizza. I don't know what their other menu items taste like but, after this experience I'll drive to Costco or Barro's for my pizza fix! read more

We came here based on yelp reviews, we were not disappointed! We had a large party (7 adults, 2 small children ), we made a reservation. for Friday night and were told we could only be seated outside. It was a beautiful night, so we had no problem with that. Upon our arrival, we were given the option to have the outdoor heater on, for my 81 year old grandmother, this was very convenient. Our server (I cannot remember her name) was wonderful. She was very courteous, attentive, and patient with two small boys accompanying us. We started off our meal with the bruschetta, it was delicious! We even considered ordering more, but opted for the bread and tomato oil that came with our entrees. That stuff was no joke! We even bought 3 bottles of the dipping sauce to take back to NM with us! Between the 6 of us (my grandma had dessert and wine only) we had the shrimp scampi, stuffed shells with meatball, chicken parm, chicken riggies, veal piccata, and one other dish I cannot recall. With the exception of myself, every plate was eaten clean! I made sure to box up my leftovers and am looking forward to having it for lunch tomorro. I highly reccomend this place. If it weren't 8 hours from home, we would come back often. read more

A little disappointing from order to eating. I ordered a vegetarian slice(I think 2.50$) to go, I was told 15 minutes( when I checked on my order the waitress told the gentlemen, I told him 15 minutes), 20 minutes later my slice was ready. The slice was presented in a styrofoam to go container. That is a first for me. The slice it self was small compare to other NY Style pizza places in AZ. The dough was gooey, the cheese was goopy, and the sauce tastes like tin. My vegetarian toppings were grilled and soggy. Not a savory experience, to say the least. So I called to relay my experience and was told sorry they have some glitches. I hope to give them another try, but my expectations are not that high I've had some of the best pizza in New York and I've also had some of the worst pizza in New York. And frankly this not as good as any of the worst pizza I've ever eaten in NY. read more

Last month i was there with me beloved brother and found a healthy pleasure to see public every where.... When I walked in I saw a beautifully decorated dining room with 2 and 4 top tables with classy glass place settings and white table clothes. About 9 of the 15 or so tables were full of people talking and laughing and they all looked like they were really enjoying their food. Ours server, Rebecca, arrived within a minute or so, and took ours drink order. We asked for the sweetest white wine they had and a coke.Jen Barker, one of the owners (Rob Barker, her husband, is the other owner and chef) brought me my wine and introduced herself (she was tending bar). Jen is very pleasant and was really interested in knowing what I thought after I told her that Jeffrey recommended I stop in. We also ordered appitzers ( calamari ), that was fried and seasoned perfectly, 2 entrees ( eggplant parm and veal ) both were delicious and a pizza for the young one....the pizza was DELICIOUS as well.Everything taste freshly prepared and nothing frozen or from the can type of place. spring break week visiting STV with my family and found this amazing Italian eatery in the valley via Yelp. I reserved for 4 for dinner, glad I did because the place was busy. Seating is in or outside, we sat inside. the place is nice. dress up or dress casual your choice. I had Chicken Riggies which had a little jalapeño heat which was delicious with the creamy tomato sauce, and it paired well with the Alaskan Amber Ale I ordered to settle my palate. wife had Chicken Marsala which I can verify was also delicious. the menu had many other meals I'd like to try sometime. kids loved it and kids menu had great choices, not the usual gross chicken tenders and boxed Mac n cheese you get at a lot of places. absolutely get a bottle of house made tomato oil for bread dipping to go. we will be back if at all possible when visiting AZ next year. read more

Absolutely a great place to eat. There is nothing we have had that was short of delicious. Everything is made from scratch and it really comes through in the dishes. Just the tomato and oil sauce that comes with the bread is enough to come back time and time again (make sure to ask your server for a bottle to go, you won't regret it). Their Prime Rib special on the weekends is worth every penny. Our daughters love the kids chicken parm and individual pizza, which are priced just right and come with more than enough food. Pizzas are great as well, the sauce really makes them, give them a try. Overall, this place is top notch, from the food to the service to the owners, this place is not to be missed. read more

Went for couples nite out last night. We thought it would be better to head away from town being a holiday weekend. Easy drive from San Tan to the out skirts of Florence. We made a reservation although it didn't seem necessary. Its a nice little place with maybe 15 or so tables and a little bar. Service was fast and friendly.We all had something different. I had the shrimp and scallop special which was ok but the scallops were very small and I think the peas were frozen. For me the flavors just didn't stand out and I had to add salt . My Cesar salad was just ok as well, I admit, I require anchovies to rate a Cesar good. There was a Chicken Roasted Garlic dish and a Pasta Giovanni dish ordered along with Chicken Parmigiana. Anyway, everyone's plate had a puddle of oil or butter after eating down a bit so there was some frowning at the table. Dinner for 2 with tax & tip was $75 which included 1 glass of wine and two beers, so spendy. read more
