Cash or credit card same price. They have the cheapest diesel in the South Bay almost every day. One cannot go wrong coming here.

I shop here frequently enough to recognize many of the employees, security staff, and even staff at the fuel station. This has always been my neighborhood grocery store, which made my experience today especially disappointing. I am a nurse and had already had a long day working with and caring for patients. I stopped at Vons to quickly pick up a few groceries before an appointment. I had only a handful of items and was nearly finished at self-checkout when an employee approached me and stood extremely close to my left side without saying anything. She was close enough that I had to ask, "Can I help you?" because I had no idea why she was standing so close to me. Instead of explaining herself, she began handling and going through my groceries. I initially thought she wanted my hand basket, so I handed it to her. She responded that she was going to "help" me. I told her that I had not requested assistance and asked what exactly she was helping me with. She then picked up my package of andouille sausage and stated that it had not been scanned. I immediately pointed directly to the self-checkout screen, where the andouille sausage was clearly listed for $3.99. She stood there looking at the screen for approximately 30-45 seconds. After realizing the item had, in fact, been scanned, she dropped the sausage back down and simply walked away. There was no apology, no acknowledgment that she had made a mistake, and no explanation for why she had approached me and begun handling my groceries in the first place. I completely understand that employees are responsible for monitoring self-checkout and preventing merchandise from leaving the store unpaid. That is not my issue. As a longtime customer, I expect those responsibilities to be carried out professionally and respectfully. A simple, "Excuse me, I just need to verify an item," would have been entirely reasonable. Instead, I was approached without explanation, had my personal space unnecessarily invaded, had my groceries handled, and was incorrectly told that I had failed to scan merchandise. Once it became obvious that the item was properly scanned, the employee did not even extend the basic courtesy of acknowledging her mistake. This area is home to many nurses, healthcare workers, and other professionals who stop here before or after long shifts. Customers coming in after a demanding workday should be able to purchase their groceries without being made unnecessarily uncomfortable or treated with suspicion when they have done nothing wrong. After nearly 20 years of shopping at this location, this interaction was unacceptable and completely inconsistent with the experiences I have normally had here. I hope management reviews what occurred and addresses the employee's approach to customers.

Subject: Disappointing Customer Service Experience During Catering Pickup…read moreDear Albertsons Management Team, I am writing to share feedback about a recent visit to your store for a scheduled catering order pickup. As a longtime customer, I was very disappointed by the service I received and hope this will help address some operational issues. I arrived on time for a catering pickup scheduled between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM, entering the store around 2:02 PM. There were four food service staff members visible, yet I waited nearly 25 minutes for my chicken order. One young lady was polite and cordial, but overall there was a noticeable lack of coordination and communication among the team. As I waited, the customer line continued to grow with little attention paid to those of us waiting. While waiting, two employees (one African American and one Hispanic) began shouting at each other and appeared ready to engage in a physical confrontation. I even encouraged nearby staff to de-escalate the situation so service could continue. This was extremely uncomfortable for customers and reflected poorly on the store. When I asked an employee named Juanita (per her name badge) if she was the manager, she said she was not. However, it later became clear that she was in fact the manager on duty. This interaction, combined with the visible lack of respect and cohesion among staff, suggests deeper issues with leadership, training, and team accountability. I understand that running a busy store is challenging, but customers -- regardless of background -- deserve prompt, professional service, especially when picking up pre-ordered catering for important events like a wedding. Without satisfied customers, no business can thrive. Unfortunately, this experience was so frustrating that I have decided not to return to this location. After more than ten years away, this visit confirmed I will seek alternatives going forward unless absolutely necessary. I hope you will use this feedback to reinforce better customer focus, staff communication, and leadership presence on the floor. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Edwin Alexander Thanks for reading PS the incident occurred today Sunday June 7th 2026 2:02 pm and the receipt is when my friend purchased the food in advance.

My first Albertsons delivery order arrived with roaches inside. Some ran off before I could…read moredocument it, but I was able to see the issue clearly. This is a serious health and safety concern and completely unacceptable for a grocery delivery. The store manager, Eduardo, issued a refund and a $10 credit, but that response felt dismissive given the severity of the situation. Finding pests in a food order raises major concerns about store hygiene and quality control, and it should be treated with much more urgency. This experience has been extremely distressing and has made me hesitant to order again. I have been trying to reach Albertsons through multiple channels, but so far it does not feel like the issue is being taken seriously.
