As a longtime customer, I was very disappointed by the service I received and hope this will help address some operational issues. I arrived on time for a catering pickup scheduled between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM, entering the store around 2:02 PM. There were four food service staff members visible, yet I waited nearly 25 minutes for my chicken order. One young lady was polite and cordial, but overall there was a noticeable lack of coordination and communication among the team. As I waited, the customer line continued to grow with little attention paid to those of us waiting. While waiting, two employees (one African American and one Hispanic) began shouting at each other and appeared ready to engage in a physical confrontation. I even encouraged nearby staff to de-escalate the situation so service could continue. This was extremely uncomfortable for customers and reflected poorly on the store. When I asked an employee named Juanita (per her name badge) if she was the manager, she said she was not. However, it later became clear that she was in fact the manager on duty. This interaction, combined with the visible lack of respect and cohesion among staff, suggests deeper issues with leadership, training, and team accountability. I understand that running a busy store is challenging, but customers -- regardless of background -- deserve prompt, professional service, especially when picking up pre-ordered catering for important events like a wedding. Without satisfied customers, no business can thrive. Unfortunately, this experience was so frustrating that I have decided not to return to this location. After more than ten years away, this visit confirmed I will seek alternatives going forward unless absolutely necessary. My first Albertsons delivery order arrived with roaches inside. Some ran off before I could document it, but I was able to see the issue clearly. This is a serious health and safety concern and completely unacceptable for a grocery delivery. The store manager, Eduardo, issued a refund and a $10 credit, but that response felt dismissive given the severity of the situation. Finding pests in a food order raises major concerns about store hygiene and quality control, and it should be treated with much more urgency. This experience has been extremely distressing and has made me hesitant to order again. The grocery store is located in a busy shared plaza, and there are plenty of parking available. It's spacious and bright inside the store, although some of the facilities were lacking maintenance and seemed really old. Beware when having delivery service. Almost a month ago I ordered from this place (like I've done in the past). On this particular day the driver picks up my order, leaves with it, then turns around and returns it to the store. No attempts to actuallycome to my home. Just decided to not do the job that day. Get a call from the store explaining what he did, so I decided to cancel the order because I didn't know if the guy did something to the items. Asked for a refund. Told I was going to receive it. The store never put the request for the refund in. I've chatted with their people on 3 different occasions. Still waiting on the store to process the return. 3 weeks later. I can't be the only one that they are stealing from. They are hoping that we just continue to forget. A SALE IS A SALE. RIGHT ALBERTSONS of GARDENA. This usually is my go to grocery store but the service I had today was awful. Rang the bell for service for over 10 minutes and no one showed, when I went to the front to ask somebody to help me I was met with a very smart remark. Really expensive for a grocery store. They did have a few sales, I hope they take their customer's wallets into consideration more. The staff seems fine but I barely interacted with them, and it's just a typical Albertson's. They do have a good vegan selection, I hope they offer more soon. I placed an order through the app that included two bottles of Mimosa wine. When the order was brought to my car, I assumed everything was delivered, as I've never had an issue before and didn't check on the spot. After I got home, I realized the wine was missing and immediately requested a refund. The manager declined, stating the wine was delivered--taking the store clerk's word over mine. I have no reason to lie or steal alcohol; I drink maybe once a month. It makes no sense that I would request a refund for items I supposedly received. This was an unfair assumption and poor customer service. I will not be shopping at Albertsons again. This review is to set an example. 1 star -- poor judgment and lack of accountability. read more

Upset that I could not get through to the deli by phone. I called for close to two hours first and no answer. I couldn't make a pick up order on line for the same day, So I called. Also tried customer service, no answer. Finally I called bakery, someone answered told me they would transfer me and let them know to pick up. Waited on the line for close to another 30 mins! This market is hit and miss. It sometimes is stocked well, but sometimes the shelves are so empty. This is confusing because I see tons of employees in the aisles with carts of merchandise, but they seem to be refilling stuff already on the shelves. They should maybe prioritize the empty spots. Biggest concern: an employee stocking the ice bags would take any ripped bags and toss the remaining ice out on to the street like a savage. This is terrible. There has to be a better way to handle this. Perhaps spread it on any nearby grass or plants so it waters and hydrates rather than becomes a pointless puddle on the floor that someone can step in or slip in. Seems like a safety hazard and a waste or natural resources. Very disappointed by this. read more

Store's ALWAYS clean and being restocked with produce. Download the app to take advantage of the sales they have too. I used curbside pick-up the other week and it was a bit confusing at first but everything was fine in the end. The staff was super respectful of loading my groceries into the car and really nice. i used to shop here all the time until my 12 year old son was 11 at the time in November 2024 accused of shoplifting by a random clerk when he was walking down an aisle. He asked to look in his bag and there was nothing in there. My son has been emotional stress because of this. I called corporate office and they told me they would email me and let me know what have they done to make it better for people and nobody contacted me or sent me a email. My review is for the catering service option that I picked up only. I did not go into the store so I cannot attest to the customer service inside the store. I was able to order trays of sandwiches and fruit for an event online through the app 2 days in advance. I got an alert when the order was being prepared and then when the order was ready for pickup. I was able to choose the drive up option, called when I arrived, and the order was brought out to me to my car. It was a seamless transaction. Food was good. I had no complaints. Even some of my guests said that they might order from there. read more

We don't have Albertsons in Hawaii, so I just wanted to compare prices. First Impressions - very spacious, organized, and clean. It's like Safeway back home. My first stop: fresh fruit. Ummm...I've seen better prices, so I'm a bit surprised and disappointed. I also looked at the veggies, eggs, and other ingredients that I need for somen salad. Hmmm... I'll go somewhere else because I have some time. If I needed these items sooner, I'd get them now because it's convenient. To make myself feel better, I found a Hello Kitty item; I perused the clearance section; and looked at the beautiful floral arrangements...wow! I also scanned the Bakery department...they have those cupcake cakes if you need one for a birthday party... I'll be back! read more

This supermarket is located on the corner of Artesia Blvd. & S. Western Ave. There is a very large parking area so you will not have any difficulties finding the place to park at any given time of the day. The market is conveniently located especially for the locals, and it is very spacious, organized, and clean; however, the pricing seems to be on a bit on the high side. Additionally, they do not seem to have enough employees especially during evening hours. As a result, you may experience long wait times at the check-out line. This used to be my favorite supermarket, but my visits have become infrequent as they abolished their self-check out machines. This may be another reason for their long long check-out lines especially during busy hours. read more

I want to preface that I come to this Albertsons often, about 3-4 times a week. I grab a morning drink before work, check out in a self service aisle, and leave within 2 minutes. In that aspect, I do enjoy coming here. It's clean, self checkout works great, and I really appreciate the frequent deals they have on energy drinks lol I'm writing this review because the one time I had to interact with a worker, my family and I experienced an employee with an unwarrantedly rude attitude. I believe her name was Rachel. Our request was quite simple -- we misread a deal and quickly went back in store to ask to fix it. We apologized for the inconvenience as we stated what we needed help with, and she rolled her eyes and stressfully scratched her head multiple times as we explained. The whole refund and repurchase process took no more than 2 minutes, but it was clear that this employee was more than bothered to be doing it. I also really didn't appreciate "hurry-it-up" tone she had toward my mom as we put in our credit card, but I'll just leave that be at this point I will still be coming to this location often because of its convenience, but the experience I had tonight was not good ;( read more

Do not use this store for delivery! I've used them twice. The first time I was missing things and the artichoke they gave me was close to dead. If I saw it in the store, I just wouldn't have bought it. The online manager AT the store refunded my money but it takes 3-5 business days. Today they didn't have half my stuff and they substituted it but gave me less than the number I ordered and they were far from what I ordered. The online system also had a glitch. When I called the 877 customer service number, they said they can't refund my sales tax but I could take the items back to the store and they would refund my taxes. How can you refund something you never received to get your taxes back? This is so wrong. Fo I need to contact the Franchise Tax Board? I also have to wait 3-5 days for the items I didn't receive. They take your money and don't want to return it when it's their fault. Use Vons. At least I received all my items and produce was in great shape. I might have to switch to another chain for delivery. This store is terrible! Delivery was great. He even put my water in the garage. read more

If you like to shop early, be advised that they no longer have live cashiers until 8am. The self-checkout is okay for a few items, but almost always takes longer than an experienced cashier, and ALWAYS takes longer when you have produce. This is a bad move and obviously not made in the customers' interest. This had been my preferred market for more than 20 years. The convenience of shopping early is gone. read more

I stopped by to pick up some groceries and didn't see any pita bread. I noticed a woman stocking items near the deli/ cooler area so I asked her if the store carried pita bread. She acted as if she didn't understand English and said No, looking confused. I then asked her, "No, you don't sell pita bread or No, you don't understand?" As I was confused... then she replied maybe aisle 2. I said thank you and started to turn my cart around. Suddenly, another stock woman who was stocking the cooler turned around to say something to the other lady in spanish. They had a whole conversation and pretty much mocking me. They showed no professionalism at all in treating their customers. I honestly can careless if you spoke another language because I do too. However, there was no need for them to be so rude as I'm sure they wouldn't like it if the tables were turned. I don't understand why they feel so bothered when asked for help. Maybe they need a course in customer service and perhaps try being nice. read more

I shop at this store several times a week and it is severely understaffed. Due to the staffing shortage the employees feel emboldened to racially discriminate against customers, act unprofessional or not even help them at all. A few weeks ago I asked Malik in the meat department for ground beef. He flat out said no and refused until I called a manager for help. The manager asked him to wrap up the ground beef and he still refused in the managers presence. Eventually the butcher helped me. Yesterday I asked Malik for 2 fillets of salmon and once again he said no. Then he made me wait 10 minutes while he looked for the butcher who ended up helping me. After all of that a man came to the counter behind me and Malik happily helped him. Apparently misogyny is acceptable to Malik because he knows there is only one person working the meat department per shift and nothing will happen if he doesn't like helping women. For the past week or so a female employee will stand directly beside me at self checkout and watch to make sure I'm not stealing. I've asked her why she is watching me so closely and not doing the same to other customers. She tells me she can do whatever she wants and continues to stand beside me with her arms crossed. I've watched her and she doesn't treat customers of other races this way. The behavior is absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous. I've watched her and she only does this to Black customers and will blatantly racially discriminate against them and myself. Today at self checkout she got in my face trying to intimidate me with her arms crossed again and I told her to back up. She told me she can discriminate against me if she wants and stood there knowing there will be no consequences from management because she is helping from another store due to staffing issues. Calling all racists and misogynists who want a job. This Albertsons is short staffed and the business manager Dawn M has a habit of hiring these types of employees with zero repercussions. I refuse to accept this behavior as a customer but management endorses it so feel free to apply. read more

Their lines are always long for some reason when I go there, but I wouldn't have it any other way because I love their produce better than other places, it's usually better quality, they are expensive and reasonably when I can get the same products at another place, but they know people like me won't go to different stores just for the small things just for a dollar or so cheaper. read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017 - PART 2: 46/100 I usually drop by here only to buy greeting cards and/or gift cards, but I don't really shop here for anything else - they're generally more expensive than many of the grocery stores not too far from here. HOWEVER! I found myself here one random weekend because I was on a mission: pick up graduation and Father's day cards as well as inquire about their deli chicken. (I wanted to bring some for a pot luck the next day.) I asked if it was possible to order for pick up the next day. I was told that since I came mid-afternoon, it wouldn't be available until "... after 3pm tomorrow." (I needed it by lunch time.) She proceeds to tell me the minimum for catering chicken is 50 pieces at $39.99. I didn't want that many, but noticed they had a sale: 8 pieces for $7.99. I decided to come back around lunch the next day to take advantage of that sale and VOILA!!! There was NO fried chicken available. I asked if they're currently making more and the response I got was, "We aren't making any more today." Really. Then why bother having the sale?! This is around noon. They weren't even halfway through their work hours! Lame. But I'll admit, there are a couple of pluses: they sometimes have good sales on beer and their thick cut bacon off the deli is delicious.
