We used this Ralphs to cater a retirement party at work for 60 guests. I wanted to choose one place where I could get everything. I was skeptical because of the mixed reviews online about catering from Ralphs, but my experience ended up being pretty good. I ordered platters of tea sandwiches, pinwheels, fruits, vegetables, mini cookies, and a full sheet cake. The cake was so big! I ordered the marble flavor with whipped cream frosting, and it was good. I also placed a curbside grocery pickup order for other items we needed, such as plates, utensils, chips, soda, and water. The process was smooth and everything turned out well, except for the tea sandwiches. They were very plain and kept falling apart. The pinwheels were surprisingly delicious, though. The vegetables were fresh, and the ranch dipping sauce was tasty. The fruit was good as well. The cookies were a mix of sugar, M&M, and chocolate chip. They tasted fresh and were the perfect bite size. Customer service was good and helpful. Just note that you do have to pay in person when placing a catering order. read more

This Ralph's gets the rating it gets for the attitude some of their employees, in particular this one disgruntled cashier who seems to cover the swing shift. I get that he may not like the way his life is setup having to work like that with his level of life experience, however there is no reason to take it out on innocent customers who could care less about that and would prefer to buy their essentials without getting bullied by the staff. It is at a point where I'm willing to go out of the way to get to the Ralph's on Hawthorne Blvd because the staff there doesn't seem to care enough about a random customer such as myself to talk trash to my face openly. read more

I'm truly disappointed in the service at this ralphs! Prior to Covid they were friendly, helpful and customer centric! I placed a pick up order due to my own busy schedule with life work and being a mom. The app stated the order was ready for pick up. When I arrived every pick up parking slot was full, as I sat there I noticed the vehicles there before me had never been serviced. I had been there waiting for 45 min which made me late for my next stop. Finally I go inside to ask them to cancel the order. The associate said he cancelled the order and I'd receive an email immediately. An email never came so he went back to the computer screen and said ok it's finally cancelled but still no email. I requested for a manager and the manager in duty during 6pm evening shift he was very abrupt, and short! He seemed to not understand how to cancel the order and said well the order is ready and I let him know, my order was placed online for pick up for convenience and so that I can get back to work. The manager snaps back with "well we are busy inside the store as you can see I'm sure you may have some type of job too" , I let the manager know that yes but communication is key! This lady was here before me waiting almost two hours w her small child, and I've been here almost an hour waiting w my child! Managing the staff on hand and communicating with your customers outside waiting would be the best solution to me at least that is how we work where I work! The managers concern was about the internal customers and not the external pre-paid customers waiting outside. Reassigning duties for a better workflow will always help in high peak traffic. I don't plan to be back at Ralph's anytime soon. I'll continue to drive past this store and shop at all the other stores in the area as I've done for the last two years because the service and staff just don't seem to be the same anymore read more

Hubbers had this idea of doing seafood plates for a quiet NYE dinner at home. I agreed. So I did my diligent search and found Ralph's had small lobster tails, crab legs and shrimp on sale! But we already had shrimp at home and lobster was the priority so we decided to skip the crabs. I felt it woulda been way too much seafood. I did see scallops for sale, though, and since it's a lot more subtle than crabs, I got those instead. There was a line at the deli. I feel kinda bad for the worker behind the counter because he was going at it solo. BUT! No hint of complaints on his end. He did his job accompanied by a smile. Found other items I needed and headed straight to the self checkout line. I love that they had plenty. What I didn't like was it was cramped - cramped like a couple of carts will block anyone from behind getting through. But good run overall! Looking forward to me and Hubbers' seafood dinner feast tonight! On a side note: this is my last Yelp review for 2023. Let me begin by saying thank you to Richard the g gentleman from the meat department. I was getting some steaks for my beautiful mother and I don't know the proper way to buy a steak so I asked Richard and he took his time out of his busy schedule packing and displaying meats in picking the proper cut. so thank you for taking time to help me out Last. I have been been in this location for about five years and the service and customer service has gotten better and I am just happy that we can have a bond between consumer and business and create a system of communication and cooperation and respect. 9/24/23 Not my usual Ralphs...had to stop by & grab some fried chicken at the deli for our potluck dinner for my nephew's 9th bday (last minute plan today). Firstly, there are two workers manning this department & they're both moving like molasses on a winter's day. A line formed behind me & they (staff) didn't move any quicker. Luckily, the chicken I was waiting for was freshly fried & broiled, that's a plus. This location has never really let me down. Plenty of parking. Very clean and well stocked. If I didn't mention it before their organization is awesome. Products are very easy to find. I love how the isles are organized. Everything has its place. This location doesn't disappoint when it comes to snacks. From candy, cookies to chips. They are awesome!!! The service is so inviting. Tony the Night Manager, Carol Mia, and the rest of the staff are WONDERFUL. This branch of Ralph's has a small town feel, as far as customer service, courtesy, being professonal,. Ralphs keep changing where the merchandise is, but when i ask, as soon as tony gets a chance, he or Carol Mia makes sire i located the item. So, there is a small town feel with having Big City inventory! The greet other customets with personal seevice also. I notice that all cutomets love their attention also. Dismissed us from his store like he was some kind of owner and Mr. Kroger himself after having issues with our Ralph's card. "Saved yourself 10 bucks as a one time courtesy", he should've kept the 10 bucks himself if it was a big issue. Never would have expected to have an issue with an employee at a grocery store, yet alone a grown man working at a grocery store. The store is do not ready when they open in the morning, I'm a disable person and can go to a cash register to be rung up and when i asked for a register to be open they tell me to use cell self check out or wait 5 to 10 minutes for a cashier to come in and get there til right and counted. when a store open it should always have a cashier present. read more

This is my go to grocery store. Love the employees have always been helpful. I've always been able to find what I need. So why the one star review ? Lately they have had solicitors in the back aisle for some wireless Internet company. They range between annoying and aggressive. When I go to the grocery store, I don't want to have to fend off a salesman getting me to switch my wireless plan. The main reason I'm posting this review is hopefully someone in the company will read this and realize their customers hate this. No way would I order from this Ralph's on Redondo Beach Blvd. I pre ordered on line had groceries delivered. However I ordered 2-Fresh Atlantic Salmon , only one was delivered. I also ordered 2- 1/2 Gal. Lactaid 2%, I received 2 quarts. 1- Yellow onion and I received 1- Purple onion . Very dissatisfied and disappointed . I called the manager, she was very pleasant. Then I was on hold for 10+ minutes and then the phone call dropped. I've had multiple instances of this happening to me but this was enough for me to write a review, and never shop there again. My current favorite local supermarket! This market is located in the corner of Van Ness Avenue and Redondo Beach Blvd. There is a large parking area so you should not have any trouble finding your parking spot throughout the day. I truly like their self-service machine as I can skip any of their regular checkout lanes which can be congested with many customers especially during busy hours. On most days, I can finish the entire purchasing process within 5-7 minutes by using any one of the self-service machines. Yes, these machines will definitely save some time for you especially if you do not mind packing your own groceries. Their pricing may be a bit higher than their competitors' prices, but they do seem to have all necessary items in stock at any given time. Additionally, this place is clean and most of their staffs are generally helpful & courteous. Among many supermarkets in the South Bay area, I think this one is genuinely doing its job! It may not be the best, but you will also not be disappointed most of the time. read more

This is your typical Ralphs experience. I stop by this location periodically, whether it's to buy some energy drinks and booze en route to a barbecue, or to buy a random item I need for back home. This Ralph's location has a sizable parking lot, in which I've had no issued finding a spot. The area is halfway decent, thus far I haven't encountered any shady characters here. The inside of the store is what you'd expect from their other locations. They've always had what I was looking for at the moment, and their prices aren't bad. Some cashiers have been very friendly, and some appeared disgruntled. It's a give and take. This place does its job. read more

Organised an online order to be delivered to my daughter living nearby. I managed to get a delivery date 4 days out which is great considering other areas have a 2 week wait in LA County. Ordering and paying online was easy. Everything on the order arrived on time, in good shape, and only 1 substitution made. It was left on my daughter's doorstep, the driver made sure she picked it up, and my daughter wiped everything down with clorox wipes and took off packaging if possible before taking it inside. You can tip online, please be as generous as you can as there are a lot of people in our communities struggling to make ends meet now and relying on delivery and tips to get them through this pandemic economically and emotionally. I bought 5 pieces of steak last night. They were on sale for 9.99 a lb. My husband asked me why the meat looked so red. When sliding the meat after I cooked them, the red food color leaked out on the cutting board. There is a hole where they injected the color in the meat, and the steak didn't taste as fresh as usual. The security guard at this site is rude and a kiss ass. I was not even gone 5 minutes away from my cart near the self check out because I forgot to get olive oil when all my items were taken back. The jerk security guard insisted I left my cart more than 20 minutes. He was aggressive and rude. The clerk was dismissive, she did offer to call a manager, but at this point I was livid by the treatment of the security guard that I knew It would only upset me more. The time invested in grabbing the items was already lost that I simply walked out. read more

My family and I have been coming to this Ralph's for at least 15 years, we live right down the street so it's always been convient. I have never had a bad experience until today mainly because of a "manager" named TONY. not to my surprise, before I decided to write this review I came to see others to see that many people have had issues with Tony. His customer service was horrible and he should not be a manger. My husband purchased 150$ worth of flowers for me Valentine's Day evening 2/14/21. When I got them, yes they were beautiful but I noticed a lot of them were already starting to die. I told my husband and asked to give me the reciept bc I felt they were going to die fast and I didn't think that was right since he spent a lot of money on them. (I'm handling this bc my husband works a lot and long hours and doesn't have time to deal with dying flowers) Sure enough Tuesday morning majority of the flowers and leaves were all dying. I have gotten flowers many times before, I keep them in the same place in my house & they last at least a week or more. I am really upset about this bc to spend that much money on flowers and to have them not last is unfair. My husband has also purchased flowers from here before and we haven't had a problem. I basically wanted my husband to be refunded at least half of what he paid for. But Tony very rudely said there was nothing that he could do, that flowers were final sale and that flowers are only meant to last a couple days. First off, no where does it state on the receipt that flowers are final sale and no one informed my husband. 2nd flowers are not meant to only last two days, and 3rd when I expressed this to Tony he seemed extremely over the conversation, stayed quiet, didn't even give me a response for over 30 seconds until I had to ask him "so there's nothing you can do" and he said there's nothing he can do and for me to "have a nice day" for the 3rd time. At this point I'm not even as upset over the flowers than I am over an unqualified manager. Ralphs should rethink about keeping him in a manager position or an employee at all bc my experience with Tony has made me not even want to return to this store. I do want to make known though, other than Tony all of the other employees I have encountered have been great, I often see the same cashiers Everytime I go and I have never had any complaints until now. Do better Tony! You are not manager material! I will be calling corporate or trying to get in touch with a general manager to handle this situation better. read more
