Cute little coffee shop right off the main road. So many delicious drinks and treats it was very hard to choose. Coffee was very tasty perfect to get us going this morning. The pop tarts all looked really good but for $7 I don't think I'd get them again. Stick to the coffee. Ladies behind the counter were all super helpful and there's lots of cozy places to sit inside and out.

Stopped by to get some work done after a wedding and I loved it! The tables are spacious for getting work done but for some reason the WiFi slip wasn't posted, I had to ask the barista for it. I thought they might've had some outdoor seating in the back but i think it was used for storage. There are a few outlets and gender neutral restroom. Dog friendly. Would want to try their croissants. Nice, relaxing place to get work done since it wasn't too crowded, even on a weekend

Highly, highly recommend this indie cafe! Not only do they roast their own beans and have a seriously inventive menu, they employ some of the friendliest baristas around. We tried the mornings in Manila latte and the strawberry tres leches latte - both from their seasonal menu. The former featured ube and leche flan flavors, the latte is self explanatory. Both featured wonderfully nuanced layers that complemented the coffee - never overpowered. Fantastic spot, and they source their pastries from local bakers/bakeries like North Wind, for example. Great place for a coffee and a croissant.

I can see why they have such great reviews. What a fabulous spot! All of our drinks were crafted with care, the kids loved the hot chocolate, the chai latte was great, the smoked campfire mocha was so yummy- and the refrigerated pastries (especially ricotta spinach) were buttery and delicious. They can heat them up for you which is nice. Comfortable place to sit, and the service was very friendly. I'd recommend to anyone visiting or passing through the area.

This place has cute fun, eclectic drinks that are made seasonally and all the flavors are made in house which I absolutely loved. The person making the drink seems super sweet and gave good recommendations on what drink to get and not to get. I would definitely come back. This is also a cute place to study for anyone who is a local student and is always looking for a coffee shop. I love lavender latte and this one hit the spot. It is a perfect mix of honey and lavender, but not super overpowering. Just gives you a hint of the flavors. Can't wait to come back!

A quaint coffee shop with signature coffees! I love the bed and breakfast blueberry French toast coffee. It tastes a little bit like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal milk and has a small piece of French toast on top. Service is great as well! Would definitely recommend!

After staying at the Legoland hotel nearby, we visited Valkyrie in search of a good cup of joe. This section of Main Street felt quite sleepy. However, walking into Valkyrie will easily awake you with its fresh coffee aroma. I ordered the Vietnamese Ka Phe that was very creamy and balanced while my wife ordered a latte that got an infusion of smoke. We ordered the chocolate ganache for our boys to share, which I had hoped to be more ganache-like (or had a thicker texture). Overall, we were impressed by the quality of coffee here given its location. The staff was very friendly and the space was nice and comfortable. Stop by if you crave a high quality cup of joe in the area!

I've been on the hunt for some great coffee beans to grind up at home that taste really great, something better than Double D so I've been wanting to visit this location for a few months now and made it a point to visit today. AMBIENCE: Omg it's such a cute little shop in an area of Chester that just seems like a ghost town. You'll find this a stones throw from the main Chester area, just far away enough that you likely won't find the place too busy. It's the perfect place to find a seat to open up your computer for leisure, work or school studies with a fresh brew in hand. COFFEE: I had no clue what great coffee tasted like, I was simply clueless! My highest standard is Double D because Starbucks is just nasty! One obvious thing when you visit this place is the owner is super passionate about coffee. I wasn't sure what I wanted and after a little discussion I was presented with a brew that I took with me to a lovely seat to work from. Coffee was a little on the strong side because I only drink my coffee black so I can taste the full flavors of those beans. But the owner explained that I was tasting premium coffee beans and explained how I was accustomed to garbage, well not in exactly those words. Hehe! My only complaint is that my coffee was served in a white coffee mug that was stained with coffee inside. I know, I know...if you drink enough coffee then you know this happens to white mugs which is why I think they should use colored mugs (i.e. blue, black, green) and ditch the white so I can't see the coffee stains. I'm a bit of a germaphobe so I didn't exactly enjoy my coffee despite it tasting good as I stared into this mug with coffee stains looking back at me with each sip. BARF! Overall a really, really cute shop with an insanely passionate owner who defiantly knows all about coffee. If I stop in again to stay, I'll opt for a "to go" cup in lieu of the white mugs.

The service is always great. Super cute coffee shop in Chester--personal fav. The coffee, especially their specialty drinks, NEVER disappoint. I just wish they had straws

Drove an hour and forty minutes to get here. But, I was going somewhere else as well so I am not that insane. Sometimes. Good latte and chill atmosphere. If I lived closer to here I'd come back often. Had a vegan scone which was air sealed and tasted delish. I also bought some beans for home and if going by the coffee taste these should be really nice.

Cute little place Barista was super friendly I had a coquito latte it was good I enjoyed it but didn't taste like coquito at all. I also had a cruffin that was very interesting you gotta try it there is dulce de leche inside.

Great cup of coffee off the beaten path. We stopped here by chance and wow we will be back. The seasonal drink offerings were delicious and crafted with care. This place was awesome, clean and amazing! They have a bunch of different coffee and espresso selections including pour over coffees, iced coffees, teas, and hot/iced espresso drinks. I really liked how they offered a bunch of different flavors and specialty drink options. I got an iced latte with oat milk with the Brooklyn Brawler flavoring (I believe it was a type of mocha with a condensed milk topper). My friend got a pour over coffee with oat milk. Both were really enjoyable. The barista and cashier woman was really efficient, patient and friendly. She made sure to ask us how everything was and made everything quickly and flawlessly. They also had a selection of home made desserts including a vegan and gluten free option. I got a pop-tart filled with pumpkin butter and iced in ginger pumpkin icing. My friend got a vegan crumble bar which she loved a lot. It was nice and bright inside, super clean and lots of good places to lounge and enjoy. I definitely look forward to returning!!! read more

I love coffee - it's my one thing. I've had Kenya AA in Kenya, hard-to-find Geisha varieties from tiny farms and coffee that's been pooped out of an animal before brewing. But there is no coffee shop I'd rather visit and nobody I'd trust more to roast and brew than Valkyrie and Dakota. Just walking in, you know it's different. Big 'ol working roaster right in the main room, and the exact right amount of friendly, happy people enjoying their coffee. You *can* get a fun, delicious, complicated drink there, and it'll be great. But I love their straightforward pourover or plain iced coffee using their fantastic house-roasted coffee. Whoever is behind the counter will be encyclopedic about which of their coffees you'd like the best, and why. They put their heart into this stuff and it makes a difference. Let me list the things I love about Valkryie: - Everything! OK, for real, everything I have had is amazing. Dakota is a dope barista (and also super friendly) and he and Tiffany and the team come up with these delicious, creative concoctions that make drinking so much fun: Ube-cinno (yes, Oreo crumbles), Banana-Milk (!!!), homemade vanilla ice cream squares, mocha lattes and more. For real: the best day of quarantine was the day I learned about curbside coffee from Valkryie. My sister lives close to them, so any time I visit her I force her (it doesn't take much to convince her) to visit them with me! PS: Nutella-Churro Pop-Tart. read more

As if this place didn't immediately make you feel welcome when you entered it worked so well that my daughter didn't want to leave! They clearly take pride in providing all customers with a special beverage and encourage lingering. I've had there home made Blueberry limeade and Tepace - pineapple fermented drink. I don't normally do reviews. And I'm admittedly a coffee snob. Listen to me today and thank me tomorrow, this shop is the real deal. Walked in to be greeted by Dakota (also the owner and roaster). He hooked up a pour over that rivals my favorite coffee shop in Williamsburg. As he's chatting and making my coffee, he's also roasting his newest batch of coffee, and making coffees for the regulars as they walk in. Friendly, comfortable and clean atmosphere. Later in the same visit, I tried his freshly roasted espresso blend (that was just great). Drove a half hour to get here and was not at all disappointed. Will be coming back to a place that's reasonable priced, knowledgeable, local, clean and friendly. read more

What an amazing coffee shop with all different types of goodies! We got the Ubecinno and Abbycinno, they were both super delicious! Everyone was uber nice and welcoming. Every time we go here we instantly feel welcome. We haven't had this good of coffee, ever. We have tried everything from the iced coffee, to a PB Mocha, matcha latte, and a campfire mocha that they SMOKE IN FRONT OF YOU and then toast a homemade marshmallow and put it on top. The people, the vibe of the space, and the exceptional coffee will keep us coming back forever (regardless of the extra 15 minutes one way from our closest coffee place.) We are so happy to have finally found this place and if you're reading this right now...go try it. Now. You won't regret it. read more

This is a unique coffee shop that has creative offerings, like house made pop tarts and kombucha. I had an Iced Ube latte, which was incredible! The iced coffee is stellar as well. My husband and I ordered roasted coffee beans from them, and the coffee was unbelievably fresh and mouthwatering. Valkyrie is a great little stop right off the Chester bike path, definitely worth a visit. read more

Valkyrie Coffee Roasters is definitely worth going out of your way for, they've got the best coffee around. They roast beans in-house regularly, so you can find a variety of unique, fresh coffee. I really enjoy the Kenyan Bourbon Barrel Aged, but I have a hard time choosing a favorite between all of the great options. All of the staff are awesome and I look forward to seeing them whenever I stop in. Their 5 star rating is absolutely deserved and I'm excited to see how Valkyrie succeeds and grows over the years. I read the great reviews about Valkyrie: educated owner and barista, great coffee. All true!!! Dakota, is a passionate purveyor of unique and exotic tasting coffee drinks and teas. Dakota has me hooked on the Triple Affogato (espresso flavored ice cream plus espresso, plus cold exotic coffee over ice) and the friendly atmosphere. His customers are diverse and pleasant. The cafe is clean and socially spaced that makes you feel comfortably safe. Downtown Chester has another great business with Valkyrie! read more

I really like the environment here. I wasn't sure what to order but the barista made a great suggestion. Can get a little busy and noisy here if you're planning to sit down and do work but not a problem if you can tune out the noise. It was just a little stuffy in here and the music was a bit too loud, especially with the crowd but I would come here again! I do wish they had more snacks or little pastries to go along with coffee. read more

Valkyrie Coffee Roasters does customer service the right way. They are kind, considerate and helpful. The owner greets all the customers with a smile and a warm welcome. There is a certain feel homeliness about the coffee shop that you just can't find at other places in the Hudson Valley.
