There is really nothing not to like about this experience!We would highly recommend it to anyone for their vacation. You arrive at the port at 8:30 then head to a snorkel spot, finally arriving at the beach at noon. But that is after you swing past downton Puerto Vallarta so you can see old town from he boat - really beautiful. One tip- my husband and 7-year old went on the zip lining tour and it is really more of an obstacle/ adventure course where good shoes are preferable (they had flip flops on!). They found it challenging but they did it! I'd suggest bringing water or climbing shoes, and maybe skip it if you aren't up for a hike. Ater a few hours at the beach and an authentic mexican lunch where waiters brought us drinks constantly no matter where we were, we headed back to port. We were back by 4pm - an ideal day in paradise, si!

Each section is different as they all have different color lounges, some with umbrellas and some that's part of the hotel. As for what section you're in, you could order food and drinks if you're utilizing the chairs or beds. Vendors walk up and down selling their goods as well as fruit, and seafood trays being offered for purchase. People also lay out in-front of the lounges with their own towels and chair as it's public beach. You can also enjoy water activities from the pier. It's the staple beach for this area so you'll have both locals and visitors all doing the same thing, enjoy the water and sun.

While soaking in the warm sun (overcast morning til 10a), snoozing, eating, drinking and people watching, I didn't want the day to end. Never got to see our hotel room until later in the evening. Lots of vendors all over the beach, just need to learn to tune them off if not interested and simply say "no thank you." However, good luck, with the persistence ones. We got our foot massage by Alejandro Molina, a couple times one day. He's that guy walking through the Los Muertos beach with all his equipment: black folding seat, large umbrella, yellow towels, massage ball, head and feet cushions, and massage chair if you prefer over hotel lounge chair. We liked our food vendors: you can hear David a mile away selling his oysters, Miguel (clams) wearing "Mexican viagra" t-shirt , Sebastian with his smile and sombrero selling mangos and lastly, Zeke and son "Zeke Ceviche" selling their ceviche tostadas. If you're not staying in a hotel by playas Los Muertos, beach vendors and restaurants on the beach will charge you anywhere from 150 pesos to 450 pesos for their chairs, table and umbrella (depends on your food consumption at their restaurant). The beach can get packed up until sunset with lots of beach goers and passer-bys, locals or non local, the entire beach is lively and busy. Lastly, a must see sunset. Beautiful beach with not many people around. We were staying at an Airbnb about a 10 minute walk…read morefrom this beach. We arrived around 1-2pm and only saw about 4 other families. There wasn't much shade unless you had an umbrella or were under the trees. The beach has a lot of rocks which is the only thing that I didn't like but not a big deal. We spent about an hour before we headed back up the hill. On our way back we found a lady shucking oysters so my husband and I bought some to eat right there. Some of the freshest oysters we have ever tried.

We had to hike up more each time after we completed a zip line. Each line was higher & higher & longer & longer. We had 2 tour guides and they were both great. They let us zip-line upside down! That was so exciting. We took a break halfway up, and they provided fresh towels that had been soaked in ice, so it felt great to cool down after all that exercise. The last zipline we took brought us all the way back down to the starting point. This was an amazing route. After ziplining, we ate at their local restaurant on-site. The food was good & the alcohol was on point. They also had tequila tasting too there! My favorite was the "dessert" tequila that was super sweet. Overall I would come back here again!

Cheap beers (as everywhere in there) and good service. Small area marked for swimming and a lifeguard on duty. Great views and a quaint vibe. Clean water. Although (And please don't be mad at me) I often wondered if the fact the beach is right by a cemetery doesn't mean we are swimming at a pool of corpses juice. I was once at a beach in Puerto Rico that was across from a cemetery and locals told me the rain washes away everything into the ocean so... must be the case in Playa de Los Muertos. If you like Mexican culture and appreciate their relationship with the dead, you'll love the cemetery tho. So much color and joy for those who are now gone. The beach is a short 10 minutes walk back to Sayulita "center" and definitely a cool hidden gem. We'll be back.
