Best authentic Mexican food in town! I had their vegetarian burrito and it was so so delicious! They serve really tasty drinks and the customer service is pretty good too. We stop in every month or so and get the Chorizo & Egg Burrito, Nacho's with EXTRA cheese - it's plenty for my wife and I to share. Never disappoints. In that I work in Fillmore but live in Canyon Country, it's often a "to go" order. It's always ready. I point this out as often times this is not the case and I feel if my order is placed in a timely fashion, it should be ready when they say - Vallarta's does that. Other than the friendly service, there isn't any other compliment to offer this establishment. With outside temperatures in the high 90's and lack of AC, ceiling fans just didn't cut it this time to provide a cool environment which might have also impacted the weird scent I encountered when I walked in. Let's get to the cuisine. Queso fundido was exaggeratedly oily and the chorizo did not taste well. Next, Chile rellenos are made with poblano peppers not California green peppers especially if you're advertising authentic Mexican food. Chile rellenos are not supposed to be soggy! Chicken flauta is made with a flour tortilla or simply put a weird tasting corn tortilla, I couldn't tell. Flavor was terrible. Unless there was a recent change in the cooking staff I do not understand the great reviews. This is my feedback and my experience. Everyone's experience may be different but there's no way I would go back to this place because it seems there is no true time invested in cooking quality Authentic Mexican food. read more

On road trip detour avoiding a fire my daughter asked for rice n beans to eat .. ok this place had good reviews and it had a few tables full of people (it's a total dive inside btw).. the rice and beans - mushy rice and beans ? I wish I could give this place zero stars. We ate here last night before heading to the North Pole Express train ride around the corner. We should have turned around and walked back out the second we stepped through the doors. But, it was raining and we had a limited amount of time before our train departure, which made it a little easier to overlook the dirty floors and haggard decor. We were greeted and seated right away by friendly staff...so those two ladies are worth the one star. Thanks. However, from the time we ordered to the time we actually received our food was exactly 36 agonizing minutes. Do you know how difficult it is to keep two hungry, tired kids who are jacked up about meeting Santa happy for 36 minutes?! I could overlook the ridiculous wait if the food was decent, but, alas, it was sub-par. The taco shells were drowned in rancid grease, the carnitas was inedible and the refried beans were more lard than beans. It was, for lack of a more eloquent description, GROSS. To bring the whole nasty event to a climax is the fact that 3 of the 4 indulging adults ended up puking the night away. The only one who didn't seem to contract food poisoning is the only one who didn't have anything laden with rotten grease. So, now that our out of town visitors have effectively had their last day of vacation ruined, we can definitively say that we will NEVER patronize this establishment again. We were in Filmore for the Pumpkinliner ride and stopped at Vallarta for dinner. It was very good and the service was great!

I absolutely love their tacos!! Really genuinely good. The plates can be kinda messy but it worth it for the food.

Taco Tuesday is my fav... the lengua tacos with the green chile is so juicy and delicious definitely my favorite in town!

We went here because there was a 45 min at El Pescador. Our waitress, blonde girl was super sweet and polite. BUT- we waited 45min for food which one was a shrimp cocktail, tortilla soup, and a salad! My fiancée asked a gentleman who's a server there why our food was taking so long. The gentleman never came back to tell us! SO RUDE! My soup had no flavor, super gross and oily. Our sweet waitress never checked on us at all until we were leaving! I wouldn't come back here at all. I'll wait the 45min for better food and service at El Pescador! read more

The food at Vallarta Restaurant was very tasteless despite someone recommending this restaurant, we were very disappointed in the food and atmosphere of Vallarta, food was almost cold when delivered to the table and it the food tasted like it was cooked earlier then frozen and reheated, I have never tasted food so awful from a mexican restaurant like this ever, they don't even deserve the rating I gave but you have to rate. Even the person who recommended this restaurant was very disappointed in this place and said they will never go there again or recommend to anyone. The place even looked and smelt dirty as well as very noisy and all the tables were scrunched close together so you could not hear anyone in your company talking to you that's how bad it was, also service was relatively slow although waitress was nice, even their coffee was luke warm and horrible tasting. Not all staff was friendly but the hostess was very nice and took us quickly to a table but did not ask what table we wanted like other restaurants do. Nice big parking lot, but seemed pretty empty even though the place was packed, it was nice not to have to wait for a parking spot or wind up parked on some street, also would of been nice if the door was marked enterance, it seems the restaurant seems much nicer and cleaner outside than it is inside. read more

Taco Tuesday. Sometimes we get tacos. Never had anything bad here. Hugo is the best. Some of the new servers have a hard time but the are okay. Its about the food anyway. Less expensive that some other places and cooked like at your friends house. We are there almost every week. read more
