I was welcomed with a handshake and asked nicely for my keys. I don't think I was ever greeted with a handshake without someone making a commission. First time here. The owner is straight forward, and the price is same as other places if you mention yelp he takes off $30. Newer cars are cheaper because they take less time. I was in at 7:35 and home by 8:05. I like salmon fishing and the owner is a salmon fisherman so I picked him. By far the quickest place I have ever been too and competitive price. read more

I'm not sure when this place opened, but I wish I had known about it years ago. I've probably been to four other smog stations in Vallejo and every time I've been disappointed with the service upon leaving. This business is fantastic! I walked in and was soon greeted by 'Mike' who was extremely friendly and helpful. We got right down to business; I signed the paper, gave him my key, and off he went. I had a (free) cup of coffee (or two), read the paper, and not even 15 minutes later he was back with a huge smile telling me I passed and was ready to go! Best experience ever; qick service, friendly atmosphere, clean waiting room, good coffee and 30 dollars off for mentioning help (wooo!). I will definitely be coming back here whenever I need a smog and will be recommending them to my friends and family. Thank you for a pleasant experience. read more

I went online this morning to find a Test only center and was pleased to find Vallejo Smog listed (with great reviews I might add!). I read a few and figured what the heck...I did phone however to inquire whether they tested Mercedes. I spoke with Mike, who happened to be very friendly. He mentioned they sure did and gave me directions. I snatched up my keys and headed on over. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Mike himself! I was thinking things are off to a great start. He asked for my DMV paperwork and keys...then directed me to the wating area where complimentary coffee and donuts awaited. It was nice to discover the area was clean and uncluttered. One doesn't have to worry about credentials as they're splayed on the immediate left as you enter the waiting area. It was a nice change to see a fish tank and clippings of great catches! As I read a couple of the articles I couldn't help but wonder If my car would pass or fail. Just seconds later, Mike appears and lets me know my car "PASSED!" Music to my ears! I promptly paid, and thanked him. I then went to DMV to pick up my sticker. Hands down, great service! I will return without second thought. If anyone asks, Vallejo Smog Test Only Center is the only place to go! read more

I googled "smog check" and found this place nearby. I read all the reviews, and printed out the $30.00 coupon. I pulled in at about 11:00 am on a thursday, no appointment. Before I even got out of my car Richard was at my window ready to take care of me. He was extremely pleasant and professional! I handed him a pile of paperwork about an inch thick and told him I had only 1 day to get insurance, registration, and a smog check so I could park my car legally. He didn't even blink, he picked out the document he needed from my humongous pile, told me it would take "about twenty minutes", go relax in the waiting room. Barely 10 minutes later my car was done!!! Of all the things I needed to get done for my car that day, getting a smog certificate was by far the easiest. This is the place to go!! This place was great!! I called around to see who had to lowest price out the door for a smog check. I got a hold of Richard and he quoted me the lowest price from all the places I called up. I thought that I might get some bad service here since its at a low price, but Mike and Richard were awesome! They had my car tested and all the paper work sent out in less then 15 mins. I sat down, called my girlfriend Alana to tell her that I love her and vwallla...my car was all set to go. I just came from this smog place... they saw my check engine light was on but ran the test anyway instead of pre inspecting it. Then they wanted to charge me AGAIN if I came back. When I mentioned that Smog Dog was cheaper AND did the free retest she shrugged it off and charged me anyway. Rip Off! read more
